it should be fixed now - ambush is never supposed to be allowed to be parried even from the front. but I know I had some pulls where this happened as well. It was also annoying because if you didn't get the hit in within the first like, 2 seconds of the boss being pulled, the AOE damage the boss emanates damages you and takes you out of stealth.
