For more accurate results you should always sim yourself using Top Gear for gear you already have in your bags
or Droptimizer to see which content drops the biggest upgrade for you. Do not use Stat Weights sims to evaluate gear.

Simcraft addon and Raidbots are starters. The simcraft addon just provides a copy/paste blurb that you insert to Raidbots.

In Raidbots, there are different sim modes, Dungeon Slice is just that - “a 6minute simulation of a dungeon scenario.” Not exactly that, but it’s a simple way to look at it. Patchwork is a simple target dummy mode. And then you can change the number of patchwork targets. So it’s like simming you wailing on a dummy.

And Raidbots has a plethora of different sim types. Too Gear is where your SimCraft addon helps. The blurb you copy/paste will show all gear you have and you can sim all of it to see what’s best. Droptimizer is cool tool to see what upgrades are available. Stat weights (is meh - I rarely depend on it).

The whole purpose of a sim is to have a controlled measurement of your character and the gear you have. It does a large number of simulations and you get the averages of that. So the actual DPS number created is really not as important as the information about which items are best, is the important part.
