Rik Reverb Barrels (and similar spread cleave in raid)

• Not your problem.
• Assassination is the worst target swapping spec in the game, and we have no tools available to deal with the situation of priority spread cleave. Caustic can reach sometimes but similar to fire mage, the boss needs to be on top of the adds, causing caustic to often be out of range.
• If you're truly hellbent on swapping to barrels, hold your nearest darkest night and just slam a darkest night envenom into them and pray. If you're quick enough you can also pool combo points/energy and cast a rupture on a barrel to try and caustic off of them. This still will not do good barrel damage, again, the spec is doomed for it
• Another possible option would be talenting into Crimson Tempest by untalenting Bone Spike and Doomblade. This CAN TECHNICALLY provide a bit of barrel damage, but the spawns need to be immaculate and any difficult spawns will just result in no barrel damage again.
  With all that, the best advice we have for swapping barrels:
• Swap to Subtletly.

like on your nameplates, you really dont need to see sbs or your poisons, and can track caustic with a wa pack

so get rid of those and its much easier to see what has bleeds

WA aren’t that hard to make these days. About 1 hour of study and you know what you’re doing. Or you can sub or probably patreon for a month and take what you want out of that kit.
Alternatively, you could deep search through wago for something similar or pay someone to make one for you tailored to your wishes to track it in a fanciful manner such as his.

Explanation of why stealth benefits aren't as important as you might think:

• For starters, "Chain pulls" are NOT when the tank pulls a new pack with 1% hp remaining on the previous mobs. That is called "Bad Tanking", and it sucks for everyone in your party.
• Correct Chain pulls usually happen while the previous pack is still alive and not dangerous. This increases uptime on more targets, which is the biggest increase in DPS for the entire party. This is also the biggest reason why you see high key level players doing so much damage.
• Garrote is roughly 7-9% of people's damage in a key, most of which is already empowered/cleaved
• Most energy spreading will come from Rupture to maintain scent of blood, not garrote
• Without a Trace (+1 vanish charge) only grants roughly 2 additional casts across a whole dungeon, but does allow for holding vanish for large chain pulls which improves the quality of each vanish
• You can argue that it "feels bad", but numerically there is very little ground to stand on, the dps simply isn't there.

Okay so what this is telling me is either you haven’t actually read the guide to understand how things work, or you don’t know how to look at statistics, or the most likely outcome, both of those things at the same time.

Murlok (as stupid as it is to use for data, but that’s an entire separate discussion), uses the top 50 to aggregate their stats. In their data 34 have a dagger in their main hand, 17 in their offhand. That doesn’t mean that crafting 2 daggers is good, in fact it’s one of the worst ways to use a spark. People who have it in their main hand won’t have it in their offhand, and vice versa.

In terms of stats, wowhead says agi>crit=mast>haste>vers. Murlok has people at mast > crit > haste > vers, but murlok also doesn’t understand shit because it’s a dumbfuck website that scrapes data from every player. With a little bit of brain power from a human, you’d realize things like pacemaker are a lot of crit, and that generally will even out the stats again.

In terms of trinkets, I suggest house of cards on my builds because priory needs mastery to be higher than crit to proc mastery. That’s a lot of thought to put onto the average wowhead reader, so signet is listed as a secondary trinket and house of cards is listed as the first, since they provide the same damage output and the same benefit, but house of cards will guarantee mastery every time. On top of that, lots of people are still raiding and simply don’t have access to a house of cards or a myth track eye of kezan, or even a heroic house of cards honestly. But what they do have access to is mythic+ trinkets, so obviously the statistics are flooded with m+ gear

In a nutshell, they're using a dry shiv. Which is after deathmark when you have lingering darkness, darkest night and shiv up at the same time for a giga envenom. Due to kingsbane being weak, dry shiv is slightly better, hence the shiv being used earlier.

Rik Reverb Barrels (and similar spread cleave in raid)

• Not your problem.
• Assassination is the worst target swapping spec in the game, and we have no tools available to deal with the situation of priority spread cleave. Caustic can reach sometimes but similar to fire mage, the boss needs to be on top of the adds, causing caustic to often be out of range.
• If you're truly hellbent on swapping to barrels, hold your nearest darkest night and just slam a darkest night envenom into them and pray. If you're quick enough you can also pool combo points/energy and cast a rupture on a barrel to try and caustic off of them. This still will not do good barrel damage, again, the spec is doomed for it
• Another possible option would be talenting into Crimson Tempest by untalenting Bone Spike and Doomblade. This CAN TECHNICALLY provide a bit of barrel damage, but the spawns need to be immaculate and any difficult spawns will just result in no barrel damage again.
  With all that, the best advice we have for swapping barrels:
• Swap to Subtletly.
