This is repeatable with mind control, but is most common on the third boss of Grim Batol when skipping the two elites before the boss.
You can avoid it by being EXTREMELY careful to not target anything when your target shifts, but otherwise not much to be done. Just be careful and aware as it is a niche bug that should not happen frequently

kind of depends on what kind of guild youre looking for. if its for mythic progression, then most guilds have their roster locked in at this point, and will remain so for a few weeks into the new tier. individual raidspots rarely open up around this time unless people quit the game on short notice

Ambush -> Garotte -> Rupture -> 1 fan of knives+mutilate to 5+ combo points -> envenom -> deathmark -> kingsbane -> maybe 1 global then vanish garotte -> shiv at 8 seconds remaining of kingsbane -> spam builders and envenom
main thing that changes from raid single target is that you only have 1 charge of shiv and can vanish earlier
and you have less energy income so ur worse but 😄

yeah just normal gameplay loop, build to 5+ combo points with mutilate (or to 7 if you have darkest night, the hero talent thingy), maintain garotte and rupture on the target, and you can fan of knives after you apply mark to boss again with darkest night (clear the witness talent in hero talents)

Second deathmark vanish is still on cd for several seconds do we hold or send deathmark and then apply the imp garrote later?

Garrote actually kinda sucks for ST, its still worth using when you do vanish, but its better to vanish at the end of deathmark for master assassin than applying imp garrote before
