If you run out of energy after maximizing envenom uptime, you stop spending energy on envenom. if you have 5+ CP, you just wait until a bleed needs refreshed, or your cooldowns come up, or you are higher on energy (~80% in s4, in prepatch it's w/e 80% is fine, in TWW each hero talent has a different pooling condition, see pins/threads in this channel for exact details), then start casting again. Yes, during this time you are just autoattacking.

Hey guys. I'm doing +8-9 now and will be doing +10 keys in TWW. Stuff melts fast in such key levels. I'm questioning high combo points rupture. If I know that my group will do lots of aoe damage, is it grief to just keep 3-4 cp ruptures for Scent of Blood, while trying to get down prio targets? I don't care about overall damage and rather focusing on timing the key as fast as possible.

You receive energy back when mobs die with rupture applied, yeah, but if you want instant dmg, smaller cp ruptures and spam envenom for caustic might seem better. BUT lets keep in mind that Sudden demise does a lot of work in lower keys

So you either play normaly with higher CP ruptures and Sudden demise pops and big dmg, or you play around caustic more, idk

if things are dying fast, you can probably apply rupture to 3 with IC and not need to rupture again by the end of the pack? or rup 3 -> bone spike combo points -> rupture another 3 and then ignore it for the rest of the pull

No, in aoe you'll have bleeds rolling and refilling your energy much faster. The goal in aoe is to spread enough bleeds to have enough incoming energy ticks to have infinite energy (you are energy "Saturated" at this point, this typically happens around 5-6 ruptures and garrotes being out but takes practice to get a feel for). The whole pooling cycle is really just for ST.

TLDR:```- Outside of Cooldowns, you want to wait until your envenom is in pandemic/around 1 second in order to proc tier. This is the core concept of "chaining", where you clip envenoms back to back

• If it's getting uncomfortable to chain, or you have to let envenom drop, pool back up to around 80% energy, and then start another chain
• Always wait to envenom, never wait to mutilate/ambush. You want to generate your combo points as soon as possible, and then evaluate whether you should pool or use a finisher
• Without 4 piece, chaining envenoms has no benefit and you can try to be above 50% energy for sanguine
• With 4 piece, the chain takes priority over sanguine and you would play around the tier, not sanguine```The reason we do this is to maximize uptimes and tier procs which is a more efficient energy use
