Posting here as struggle to find anything on this in FAQ for assassination (just links to wowhead/icy). When trying assassination in M+ I am finding my DPS is massively lower than outlaw or even sub. On +20 keys I can average around 280-300k dps on outlaw, 230k~ sub but in assassination it goes to 160-180k tops. Is this normal? I know the git good etc. but I am following guides etc, but I feel my AOE and single start are so off in this spec. Are there any tips and tricks worth following? Single target feels fine from a rotation perspective but low dps and AOE rotation is a bit much, but feel I am following the guides.

The problem is that it varies pack by pack, pull by pull

So it's hard to make a guide about every possible situation

Sometimes you want to set up bleeds before going into kingsbane, sometimes you need to skip bleeds and go straight into kingsbane, sometimes it's better to spam envenom for aoe damage, sometimes it's better to multidot
