That’s mostly because stat weights are super dogshit in how they evaluate and present the data. It’s just kinda not the right tool at any given time, and stuff like top gear and gear compare provides much more accurate comparisons, while also being quicker to simulate, rendering the whole stat weight stuff pretty useless

Doesn't this result in sometimes going into cds with very low energy and 1 tea charge and not being able to cast much during Kingsbane (at least until the last 6 seconds when the tea charge is used) and not getting much sanguine blades damage? I thought the pooling guidelines would suggest pooling before cds to go into them with some minimum amount of energy. So I think I'm not understanding something.

You don’t pool during cooldowns not necessarily for kingsbane, but because that’s your high point in damage, you’re holding resources for that point in time, highest efficiency.

Outside of cooldowns yes, you’re maximizing envenom and tier set efficiency.

Yes this results in sometimes going into cooldowns with very low energy and 1 tea charge and not being able to cast much during kingsbane and not getting much sanguine blades damage. That’s fine. Non-deathmark cooldowns (that’s to say, odd minute kingsbanes) are generally pretty weak and as long as you maintain envenom uptime during kingsbane you’ve maximized the damage output from it. Casting abilities obviously has a chance to apply poisons, which would be good, but auto attacks do most of the heavy lifting in terms of poison applications. Tea at 6 seconds naturally will let you envenom through the kingsbane, even when you’re starved. On even minutes where you have deathmark, Deathmark duplicates your bleeds, which is double the energy, and you won’t starve. Sanguine blades is neat, but we don’t play around it, we prefer playing around the tier instead

Actually kinda yes, 20 stacks of amp technically should trigger the start of a chain regardless of energy, but it feels real fucking weird to play around and creates a lot more awkward situations than I think is worth trying to handle from a human standpoint. It’s in sims already but tracking down why it’s better is really difficult honestly and the gain is so small that I just kinda considered it one of those sim optimizations that borders on the in-human but I let it slide

Those things you listed aren’t equal though. Holding a trinket or shiv is very different from holding energy and breaking your chain because of it. During cooldowns shiv is rolling so more envenoms are obviously better. During deathmark (which you’re holding your trinket for), you don’t have these issues to begin with because deathmark gives you all the energy you need

Pooling before cooldowns is a noticeable loss in simulations of around 0.5%

One insanely annoying thing I learned about that trinket today is if you are collecting orbs on the Dragon boss in DHT when he starts the winds knockback your orbs will float in front of you while you run against the wind but the orbs will never reach you.

Sanguine Blade triggers when your bleeds deal dmg, and checks the energy condition at that time. So the same bleed can use Sanguine blade on one tick, not on the next, and use it again on another later. In all cases, you don't directly play around it and mostly pool with the intent of chaining Tier Set procs during downtime (and just full send during cooldowns)

Rings are usually good crafts since they come with a socket in it already. MH wep is usually high value but not so much this tier. You can always just run a droptimizer sim for crafting and see what it tells you as well
