I have some noob questions regarding assa:

1. the "core" sequence of the rotation stays the same for the remaining fight (lets just ignore mechanics completely), so (DM if up) > Shiv > dance > KB > garrote > (do stuff, shiv refresh, tea + vanish during KB) pretty much occurs the same throughout the fight?
2. not sure how much % gain it is to snapshot rupture/envenom, but I assume if the situation occurs where you can actually snapshot the finishers, one would prioritize rupture > env?

1. Yes every minute you repeat that sequence, if DM/Vanish are not available you just skip them but it's otherwise the same.
2. Envenom doesn't snapshot, it's a single hit damage ability. See wowhead guide for answer to when/how to manage rupture snapshotting, there is a note in the opener section about it.

Yes and no. Technically during Deathmark+dance specifically, it’s 0.06% better to mutilate instead of ambush. During non-Deathmark dances you would want to ambush though and that’s a pain in the ass for no tangible benefit

You can either do the cringe thing and mut on deathmarks and ambush on dances, or ambush always in dance, or mutilate always in dance

Yeah it just kinda doesn’t make sense for the sim logic to say when to pool, it reads better to say when not to pool because of how the APL language is constructed.

All the spells are written as cast X when Y, so it’s easier to say cast envenom when you meet these conditions, instead of cast envenom when you don’t meet these conditions. Or alternatively would have to be like cast envenom if not dance or not deathmark and not shiv or not envenom duration remaining or not energy less than 80%. And just reading that makes my head hurt, so we flip the logic statement to say cast when Y is true, rather than when Y is false, cause that isn’t a headache

I switched last week. Best way I’d recommend is to practice parts of the rotation and then put it together
