@gray sleet the reason why it’s gar->CT->ER is to dump your combo points before echoing reprimand so you can guarantee a 7cp rupture being spread by carnage. If you just garrote -> echoing reprimand -> rupture you would have a 5cp rupture. That then leads to exsanguinate, and since you applied a 7cp rupture, it’s a better exsanguinate, better Deathmark, and then you go into the regular rotation

421 puzzlebox is pretty much BIS trinket for assassination. I usually run PB and whetstone in dungeons (havent been blessed with a grieftorch so ymmv). As far as stats go, you'll do less damage with less mastery but it doesn't change how the spec plays. If you want to optimize, you'll have to choose between playing outlul or sin. Sin has the added benefit of having pretty much the exact same stat requirements as sub, so what is BIS for one spec is also pretty much bis for the other

That changes depending on whether it's a fortified or tyrannical week, but in general it's better to not hold onto a trinket for too long because you'll just lose out on potential casts

Unless a boss needs a silly amount of aoe damage at a specific time for you to be able to kill it, it's better to just use the trinket as much as possible

Between using crit+mastery missives on all your crafted gear / mastery+crit gems / the 4 non-negiotable set pieces and whatever trinkets you'll be using, your stats should be fine for assassination. There isn't much more room for optimizing and it doesn't affect your gameplay other than numbers

Assassination isn't in a situation where you want to hit certain breakpoints to allow a certain playstyle, so don't sweat the small stuff that much

it's not great in m+

you should try and pug mythic if your guild wont do it, it can be hit and miss for groups, but early in the week generally has good ones
