recrafting is the main feature of professions, few people use it properly
he doesnt ahve any hammer control points
many people dont know that i gues, the raw skill for a t5 is REALLY high, you mostly get t5 by fishing for procs
have to wait for him to raise his skill
ive had so many people order something with 3star materials which cost 3-5x as much, when they could just use lower quality materials, recraft 2-3 times for the same result
save a lot of mats. the only extra cost is artisans mettle, but you typically get a lot of that anyway

Yeah I was thinking you upgrade the mats if you are really close and it will tilt you over to the next highest level
i mean my guy couldnt get embellish and missive to tier 4 without rank 3 mats
but people want the 5star quality on first craft and spend 40k in mats for it, and only people who hard committed to +skill can do that. once you add missives or other stuff, they no longer have enough skill, since +skill is limited in availability on the tree.
or you can spend 5k, recraft for 2k cost 3-4times, and then get much better gear.

i.e. dagger costs 17 alloy to craft. you can buy 17 3-star alloy, which cost like 3k each, so ~45k. or you can buy 17 2star alloy, which are 300g, and then recraft with just 7 3-star alloy instead, so 21k.
i mean if u recraft an inspired rank 4 for example with tier 3 mats u still need yet another inspiration procc for rank 5

Doesn’t the craft quality bar increase when you actually put all the mats in? Maybe you can craft it at 4 star but it just doesn’t show when you don’t have the mats for the craft.
crafting them is kinda expensive but ye
its a bit weird, i have had crafts where i was close to the 4star threshold and then half the rafts would be 4star and the other half 3star
but none of them were inspired
makes no difference tho, the point im trying to make is that you cannot reach 345 skill, not even with illustrious insight
you can get 90 skill from weapon spec, another 30 from hammer control, and thats it. all the other specialization talents only give skill for stuff that doesnt apply to weapons, or give other stats entirely

once the base recipe cost becomes high enough, theres basically no way to get a guaranteed 5star (or 3star for materials/enchants etc.) craft. it will always be a chance based on inspiration
its ALL inspiriation procs in the end
people want that guranteed t5 craft that doesnt exist
High quality materials also increase the skill, that’s why the crafting grade increases with better materials. Pretty sure that’s how it works. I have no idea if that means you can reach the skill rating you mentioned, just saying that that is another way to increase the skill

I read what u guys discussed earlier but im just making sure: If I want 392 dagger (5 star) with embellishment from random dude over Trade, I just get it crafted first with T2 mats and embellishment+missive and then recraft with T3 mats until they proc to 5 star?
i crafted alloys myself, sold the 3star ones i got
with high inspiration that kinda makes up for it, or well, it did when it was still super expensive
what if it initially rolls 3 star, can I get to 5 star with few recrafts or is it first inspire to 4 star and then again need a proc to 5 star

like we’re talking couple of hundreds or close to a mil amount? didn’t check the recipe
every recipe has a recipe difficulty. thats the one you see in the window. adding additional reagents like ilvl increase or missives increases that difficulty. the difficulty shown is what you need for max quality (3 for materials, 5 for gear)
every crafter has a base skill, that is the sum of his profession skill (so i.e. 80/100 enchanting = 80 skill), plus his tools (with rare tools thatd be 6+6+10 so 22) and whatever talents he chose on the profession tree. say someone allocated 70 knowledge into talents that gave him skill for the craft he wants to do.
he'd end up with 80+22+77 skill, so 179
you then add a certain amount of skill for the quality of the materials used. i dont think theres a solid formula (that we know off yet, but higher quality = more skill added)
game then looks at the final skill vs difficulty, say you have 179 skill, reagents add 50, so 229, and the recipe difficulty is 300. that would put you at 4star (since the breakpoints for a 300difficult craft would be 2star 75, 3star 150, 4star 225)
and then you would rely on a inspiration proc to make it 5 star with embellisment+missive on it
I think I understand that part now
inspiration proc baseline adds 66% of what a level requires. so 66% of 75. so youd get 49skill from that. would put you at 229+49, so 278. that menas youre still 22skill short
its only at this point, imo, that you should consider using higher quality materials
because these numbers are all static

the skill of the crafter is a constant (although a changeable one, ofc). the skill from tools is a constant. the inspiration proc based on recipe cost is a constant
the only variable you can fiddle with is the reagent quality, so you should change that last

One more question: is there any way I can brick my item from random crafter or is it safe to craft lets say 382 Spark dagger with Embellishment+Missive and just get it re-crafted at a later point by someone else. As long as I have corret Missive on it its not brickable?

you cant brick an item, no
any optional reagent (ilvl increase, missive, embellishment) are basically "enchants" that stay with the item unless you do smth to remove it. recreafting at a later point, theyll still have those modifiers active

yes and no. you can buy some higher ilvl items atm, but theyll quickly become outdated when raid/M+ open up
just the order is somewhat important, seli went inspiriation full first, i did all +skills first, selis approach was somewhat better, but i can still make the same weapons then him

the biggest powergain you can get from renown, is hitting maximum renown with iskaara/maruuk/expedition. you will get a primal infusion, which can be used to upgrade a crafted item to 405 ilvl

yeah, reason i went inspiration is because it applies to all crafts, whereas once you specialize you are locking yourself into only crafting that one thing
so even just for crafting tools or alloys at higher quality, inspiration is neat
inspiration will lose value later down the line, but atm its often the difference maker of whether you need to commit another 20 knowledge into a tree, or can start opening up other stuff

This is not true. Iron Wire, or previously known as Thuggee, did not do that. In Legion it had a garrote-reset mechanic tied to it. Iron Wire like we know was introduced in BFA and even back then Iron Wire extended the Garrote silence duration and the DR. Dragonflight is the first expansion/patch where Garrote does not silence and Iron Wire is required to enable it.
Outlaw is the way to go
You can play either and see what feels better for you. IC is obviously a lot of fun to play and Kingsbane is really good prio damage, but DTB is more braindead and doesn't change your rotation in any meaningful way and you get 2-3 less buttons that you need to press.

Before sbs had rules due to soulbinds, use to extend Kevin or use during gemstone windows. Those exist no longer, so say you need to run away from the boss but don’t want to overcap on energy, charges, whatever. Toss one out, it makes sense.
Boss is about to die and you’re a bit starved/out of tea? Send it, it’s a cheap builder

Looking for opinions on this build sim dps is -.3% difference but it seems like a much easier build to play and also has an extra charge of shadowstep to increase up-time on high mobility fights. Just curious what people think
I don't know if I'd call that "much easier to play" considering you're swapping around passive damage amps that don't change the rotation at all. But yeah absolutely go for it if you feel like you need the extra Shadowstep.
Dont have to deal with vanish/garrote (not that this was very difficult but avoid accidentally overriding it or syncing up anything with deathmark) at the very least and increased mobility makes it easier to reposition at the very least.
You also only have to deal with shiv basically on CD from what the sim was doing
So I’m new to Assassin and Echoing Reprimand is making the rotation harder to learn, are there any other talents I can pick that would be a huge dps loss?

Unfortunately no, ER is a pretty large source of damage so you’d take a fair loss. What makes it difficult for you? (Legitimately asking, everyone has differences, that’s okay!)
Just keeping track of how many combo points I should be saving per Echo “proc” feels like I’m fumbling over and accidentally gaining to many points and not utilizing it effectively
With ER you gotta tell yourself that CP generation is going to be a little different... Mut is fairly good about lining up with the ER CP stuff... just takes some practice
Dont strain yourself trying to hit those CP's it should happen semi naturally

It’s pretty forgiving to play and it’s definitely taken some getting used to. But the legendary portion of it (capstone) does make it a bit easier

It usually doesn’t matter cause they expire and you just press ER again and the new charges have a timer and it’s fine
But if you just hit er and walk away
Those points will be there forever
we have 7 CPs now, ER doesn't charge all of them - it only charges 4 of the middle 5. So if you have one left over from the last round, it can be relevant to know the "skipped" one from the new round of ER is still charged
we only have 6cp
