You have a job as sub, and neither option has a compelling enough pro/con. You're aiming for consistency in PvP. The 4set has extra combo points during a time you probably already have shadow blades up, but you crit more often. The mastery means that when you do crit, it matters more. Slightly more.

Honestly I would get good at sub in 2s first then assa for 3s. I personally find outlaw too flamboyant. Assa is easy to counter and when sub is strong it dominates. I just think being good at sub will translate to the other specs. It's the most meticulous and has small windows where you need to understand your combos. Outlaw and assa kinda just pump. Sub you play like a rogue, so it's good to develop that play style. And again, when sub is strong it's OP. In the right hands

You find what you love and stick to that. Ive been a Subtlety rogue since I started in late tbc. Idc about anything else through the good or bad times. Start shuffling around and then this comparison nonsense kicks up when we have different tools and styles. Find your style man.

the goal imo is to keep it up with an envenom at some point, when possible
lower prio at the very beginning of a match typically, but you shouldn't need to waste the combo points on it if you try to keep it up with envenom
that just kinda depends on where you're at with your bleeds, if you can envenom at the time or not etc
