It's absolutely nuts from both a gameplay and a fantasy lore perspective that a MARKSMAN HUNTER, a class meant to fare best at a distance, is currently so overtuned that it can favorably facetank an ASSASSINATION ROGUE, a class meant to be extremely deadly if it gets within melee range

@tawny kestrel assassination damage is way worse than at least 5 other melee specs that do the damage much more consistently and brainlessly

Assassination is also very fragile

So the combination, while absolutely playable if you are very talented, does not feel good to people who are average

If you are a very good rogue, assassination is an outstanding spec. The problem is that the spec suffers massively for people who are "just okay," or "a bit above average" compared to other specs that perform far better with 1/10 the effort (and brain cells)

Healers are basically impossible to kill in world PvP and BGs

And I'm always surprised when a teammate dies within the first 10 seconds of the door opening. It definitely happens. BUT

Most games are just slogs

Which, of course, heavily favors classes with extremely high sustained DPS, and is really bad for classes with small kill windows

The fact we can apply a Shadow Danced, Thistle Tea'ed, Empowered Garrote to all 3 opponents with a Kingsbane on one and a Deathmark on another and the healer just keeps them all alive because it's "too early in the match to expect anyone to die" is wild

That's just not a viable way to play. We adapt, but it just doesn't feel great

I'm a big fan of priest, actually feels like a healer and is relatively straight forward in actually healing. CDs feel good, and has some very high skill expression to raise the skill ceiling

Shaman is complicated because of all of the totems and managing them along with your other CDs

Druid is strong but healing mostly through HoTs until shit hits the fan is boring

HPal is garbage right now, but in another season might be fun

and I've never touched a Monk or Dragon so I cannot speak to any of those
