well tbh it would be really complex if Rogue could absorb more than she does, but also Rogue falls into the category of being a character with super strength but not much else - Colossus, most Hulks/Abomination, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, etc fall into this category

They needed to give Rogue a unique kit but couldn’t just have her be entirely focused around stealing abilities because it’s just too complex, hence they have her absorb chronovium so she’s doing more than just basic punches and kicks

similarly, this is why they had jeff eat a bunch of powerful objects to explain him having abilities, because he’s normally much smaller and literally just a shark that can walk on land

or why Black Cat has been given the ring of zona by the Kingpin

Bishop has enough going for him that they can work with that they don’t need to give him something more - between advanced future tech, time travel, and energy absorption, it’s already enough on their own

Rivals heroes are cosplaying as college students or staff to hide from kingpin or something and try to break out whoever kingpin arrested

yes, in the comics, Ultron was imprisoned in a vibranium casket sealed with Asgardian runes, which due to circumstances ended up getting shot with an aging ray that inadvertently sent Ultron into the future in a new form made of vibranium with asgardian magic, and in this future he was able to defeat Odin and beoame the all-father

he came back to conquer the present, but was defeated when he was hit with the aging ray set to reverse, and as a result it also brought back Hank Pym as an old man, as Ultron had previously merged with him

This season’s story about this ancient tablet reminds me of one of Spider-Man’s early comics where Spiderman and Kingpin basically go to war over a tablet and Spiderman becomes a wanted fugitive again, I think this was after he had amnesia and temporarily allied Doc Oc, he got his memory back after fighting Khazar and Zabu. Anyways, Silvermane ends up getting the tablet im pretty sure, and kidnaps Dr. connors to unlock the secrets of the tablet, he creates a potion of eternal youth from it, and it instantly makes silvermane young, Spiderman shows up and fights silvermane, but silvermane keeps on getting younger until he disappears under a pile of his clothes

I see the description of the Tablet of Life and Time mentions a Tablet of Death and Entropy, possible season 9 being set in Hell and the antagonist being Mephisto? Doom has been out of the lore for the past few seasons but the last collectible was the Soul Contract of Cynthia Von Doom.
Would only make sense that the next seasons collectible be the Tablet of Death and Entropy to build up to it

Season 5 learning gambit and rogue were on their honeymoon in the grand garden and trying to steal from the collector
Season 6 trying to escape from the collectors museum along with some locked up creatures

And now season 7 focused on New York manhattan. The lore is something I really like and like how much of an impact it has to how the hero releases since we at least get teases for something to come since it’s a good story and I feel rewarded for liking it

I honestly just want more return to previous scenes, the map gimmicks are very fun and I want more exploration of existing gimmicks rather than strain themselves with coming up with new gimmicks every season

Bring back Wakanda's God's Wraths, Hydra Ever Shifting/Progress Based Terrain changes and have more maps in K'un Lun with Fog and the Collection for the Shield Walls

They are such a fun way to implement the lore of the map (like Empire's Blood Chronovium having Time properties leading to recall Terrain) and a nice gameplay gimmick that allows for funny moments both in game and in lore (you can't tell me Klyntar's Symbiote Platforms did not mess with a character's movement mid combat at least once)

Yeah no Hulk has more unique designs already existing than like 90% of the roster they can pull from for skins, I think the main issue is when designing a skin for Hulk, they ALSO have to design a Banner and Ult form, and make animations for them transforming in and out of each other. Tbh, if Hulk was a more popular choice, I think they'd put in the effort. S1: Dracula used the darkhold to make it permanently night in New York and was able to turn everyone into vampire, moon knight’s team wanted to kill every vampire (including turned innocents) with the montesi formula, F4 (and squirrel girl) wanted to save everyone by breaking the curse with the help of Ratotoskr (I think F4 side won)

S2: Ultron attacks during hellfire gala on krakoa, infects the likes of iron fist, Hawkeye and magneto. Manages to hijack krakoan resurrection protocols and be revived as X-tron. Infects/controls all of Arakko. Iron man reprograms a fallen Ultron and blackmails him that he’ll delete his memories of Hank Pym if he doesn’t help. I think Doom 2099 beats Ultron anyways

S3: Knull is back with Hela at his side as his Queen in Black. Jean and Blade join the fight, something about a Phoenix egg that gave certain characters Phoenix powers. Some people got symbiotes. Some people got both. Knull is ultimately defeated by a plan of: 1. Venom attaches a band to Knull during their clash, 2. Jean lets Knull end her/send her to white room (with a band on her), 3. Rocket with the power of scarlet witch swaps Jean and Knull ending Knull in white room

S4: Doom manhandled Lin Lie/Iron Fist and called him a fraud, so a tournament was started to compete who’d be worthy to receive the powers of the iron fist. Or at least there was SUPPOSED to be one, but it got delayed

S5: Grandmaster hired gambit to steal the deed to dooms mother soul given to the Collector by Mephisto offering him a chronovium d20 and also reversed Gambit’s lobotomy so he can heal people now. Gambit did steal something but it was a fake but then rogue got chronovium powers that bypassed the collectors protection of the deed (was in a chronovium vault)

S6: Collector hires Deadpool and Elsa to recapture the deed from gambit and rogue. Deadpool betrayed him immediately. They escaped and Gambit and rogue got to have their wedding

S7: ongoing but from what I could gather: present timeline New York is facing a weird incursion where parts of 2099 Nueva York are appearing in it. Kingpin arrests/scapegoats the timeline hopping heroes and tasks black cat to steal the lifeline tablet from the sanctum. Kingpins plan seems to be to give it to the gilded saint (skeleton god) to reverse the spread.

I'm Kate to the conversation on where Peni is but for Season 3 every single character is participating in the fight as Knull is a literal primordial being, wether they get blessed by one of the 2 empowering forces in conflict or are otherwise involved in the plan to win is dependant on the character, Season 4 only really mentions the chosen champions but it's implied many others are there to help their allies in the tournament/defend it from Doom, Season 5 and 6 yeah anyone not mentioned isn't really doing anything, and now Season 7 Peni is likely dealing with the fallout of the invasion back in 2099, wether that means sabotaging forces or getting a breather of less surveillance allowing to gather allies is a separate question

For season 8, got some theories. As much as I’ve seen hints at Cyclops and Devil Dinosaur, I think we’ll be getting Madelyne Pryor and Ghost Rider next season. The main item in current lore is the Tablet of Life and Time, which can bring someone’s soul back from hell. Who do we know who wants to bring someone back? Doom. Doom wants to bring back his mother. Who’s the king of hell? Ghost Rider. Madelyne was hinted at by a woman on top of a roof which Jean got a psychic signal from. Could her clone, Madelyne Pryor.

season 4, present day doom goes to K'un-Lun to get the chi infused chronovium from Shou-Lao, instigates a tournament to win it, has Loki be his champion and gives him a phoenix feather in exchange
season 5, doom 2099 learns of Cynthia von Doom and the soul contract... and thats it
season 6, doom 2099 obtains the soul contract... and that's it
season 7, nothing so far, but probably we'll see present day doom next

My Father is a comics fanatic, when I pointed out the resemblance to the X-Revolution Skin he showed me that X-Revolution has a similar pattern to an iconic Captain Marvel Outfit, without the huge window of course, so the lower detail of the outfit does increase the chances of it being Captain Marvel

what's interesting though is that in the picture, he's wearing a specific mask, and Miles Warren has never worn that mask... but Ben Reilly (clone of spiderman) has - he wore that mask when he became the Jackal after defeating Miles Warren

This is a reference to Devil's Reign where he had captured Killgrave to use him to control the citizens of new york to vote for Kingpin again, and he had cut off a finger from Killgrave and put it in his cane so he could control people with it (Killgrave aka Purple Man has the power to control anyone around him)
• The second display case is not a skull but rather a mask - possibly Chameleon's?
• I didn't notice any details about the blue crystal from a closer look so I'm not certain what it is - maybe a terrigen crystal?

Consider that in the comics, SHIELD has been dissolved for like a decade now, and Rivals takes a lot from the modern comics, so there might be no SHIELD at all

idk if there's an official answer but I think the answer is "mostly" - the comics expand on events in the story with more detail, and sometimes they show events that haven't been referenced at all by the game, like Namor and Jeff robbing BP, or SG/Thing/Rocket fighting Doom 2099

It makes sense to me to treat them as a secondary source, but if there's conflicting information, the game takes priority. However, you also have to consider the game conflicts with itself sometimes, ex: Hawkeye has a voice line in which he recognizes Jeff, but also a different one where has no idea who or what Jeff is

Do keep in mind that even in game we are not necessarily playing the same variant of a character every match, how many variants of characters there are, how similar they are between themselves, and which ones are played is insanely unexplored and frankly shaky in detail at best, but there is a reason why Moon Knight and the Eternity Knights have escorting Herbie and Rattatosker voice lines when they are the characters meaning to use the Montessi formula, why you have Kwanon/Betty as a Psylocke Skin even though it's Psy in the game, why the entire Collector's Collection skin set is a thing (one of the few canonically existing skin sets that is not an outfit based on the season) that being said, there is definitely a "Main Set" that every variant in the story directly derives from and the ones that the Lore actually cares about, follows, and uses in Gallery Cards and the Comics, Galacta is likely pulling some trickery to ensure that

Foggy from the present timeline is presumably alive and well, there's a billboard for nelson & murdock on one of the maps, though it's theoretically possible he got swept away in the entanglement (unlikely because idk why theyd do that)
