Hey, I'm rather new, I've managed to climb to gold so far, but obviously Im still not too good. I find I still lose to people when they find out I am not good at reacting to sigs, especially ones with rather muted sound queues like wu shang, in fact I think I can get panicky when I get hit with sigs and become more predictable. What is a good way to practice using defensive options better 🙂 sorry if this is the wrong channel

work on your movement, sigs recover faster than you'd think but they still offer a critical window to punish them. space yourself out after the enemy throws out a sig and move in as quick as you can to punish. if all else fails, weapon throw is an excellent retaliation to sig spam. if you find yourself starting to panic, starting taking slow deep breaths and space yourself out from your opponent to reset neutral if possible.

Thanks a lot, this is all true, most of my issue is the ones surrounding anticipiating huge hitboxes, I guess a large part is getting used to it with time. It is absolutely true I need to start getting better at weapon throws, I find that when I do use them, I have a much easier time with sig spam, but the controls are still kind of awkward for me. I have a similar problem with getting read like a book by axes, it seems the harder I try to anticipate their hitboxes the more I get smacked

Ok so it is player error as expected you’re more used to left side than right picture it this way you’re playing a traditional 2d fighter there’s a p1 and p2 let’s say you chose a character like ryu from street fighter and you’re p1 you comfortable doing dp’s from the left side outputting to the right but you’re less comfortable when being p2 doing dp’s because while the inputs needed are the same they’re inverse of when you were p1 so you end up messing up the dp

Well that’s the thing…you won’t get better gc’ing the sig unless you just sit in training mode and practice it because it’s a fighting game and the best way to improve in a fighting game is to be in training and practice what you want to try and learn

Yo, I play on controller on pc and my controller stopped working when it's tabbed out. Before this, I'd always be able to be tabbed out of the game and still be able to play with no problem. I have 2 monitors so that means if I'm on discord my keyboard works for typing, while I can sit back and play on controller. i find most nsig gimps to be done from dair and a read
you can also sair and read their recovery, but that's riskier
if you put them below the stage, forcing them to go directly to the wall, you can often read them with a gp

if you're offstage and they're on the ledge, gc nsig can actually catch them
it can either throw them offstage, where you can do shenanigans, or bounce them onstage. nsig dlight is a true combo on low damage, and i actually find myself using it often when hitting through ledge

also, you can read a jump by jumping parallel to them and nairing

work on your sword too
if slight puts both of you offstage, jump sair catches jumps. this works more often than you'd thing
if it puts only them, a hitting nsig can kill VERY early

also slide charging sword nsig after they're sent far enough can be very rewarding

I’d only go to the admins/devs as a last resort however if it really comes down to it maybe sloshua can help or guide you to brawlhalla’s Finacial department/webpage but do this in last resort as he is a dev and is quite busy/has his hands full working on the game
