Ight so I am a scythe main, and I don't rlly main anyone specific, but I can get the normal air dodge reads and then a combo off of it but I can't seem to keep people in after they get there second air dodge. I will be against some scythe players that will use a lot of down and just keep me in a combo till im at kill percent. I usually do side light or nlight to start combos then get a read and go for nair sair nair sair, but I am wondering what I should do instead, or if there is something im doing wrong

try to learn the right dodge read, nlight and then you have to read the right dodge, dash jump into gc nlight -> rec -> dair active input the other way -> sair

I know the dodge reads for all the dodges, and I try to do them when I can, I am learning how to react to the dodge instead of read, but its more of I can get a few good combos, but sometimes I will just get destroyed bye someone reading me 3 times in 1 combo, does it just take a lot of practice? I can never seem to get my combos to not go up in the air'

I am guessing its partly my bad dodge paterns

it takes intuition and experience, reading people is fun to go for the really flashy play that makes you feel like a god, but reacting to dodges still takes a bit of reading as if you really react to dodges its like a 0.5 second frame of when u can get the move off

standard fixes:

1. switch a region, and then switch back
2. restart your pc
3. restart your router
4. if on wifi, dont be. use ethernet

there's no reason to learn true combos for scythe. it inherently relays on strings and dodge reads

as for the strings themselves, they're mostly a thing of intuition and predicting how the opponent will try to escape

for example, you can jump cd rev nair after a soft slight if you know they'll dodge towards you

and from there, if you ai nair, you can do stuff like rec, sair, floor cancel nlight, etc. depends on the situation and your predictions

Slide in nsig is a good punish option for up and neutral dodges, slide in dsig is good for everything else

Scythe is very hard with dodge reads, particularly because you have to continually read. The best way to practice this is probably to go into practice, set not dodge to random, and keep using nlight or slight as a starter

you extend strings by predicting your opponent. commonly, through their jumps (panic jumping offstage is a common mistake), their fastfalls (as a mixup), and where they try to go (go to the wall, recover to stage directly, counterattack, etc)

Punish her sigs, she has a lot of active frames which means if she misses than she is vulnerable for longer.

Punish the high active frames

The side sig lasts a very long time making him basically just a slow moving target that can’t fight back

dlight dair u have to dash jump [after dlight, u do dash and then jump dair]
