so with spacing, if you stay out of range of peoples attacks its a type of dodging, just generally spacing them out to force them to aproach and possibly miss is a great way to gain an advantage
with general dodging after being hit with something that can string, if you notice what direction you dodge and try to dodge a different way each time it can be very effective way of being unable to be read

you probably need to work on your fundamentals. All the weapons you just named either string weapons/ or just difficult to play which means your movement, positioning, edge guarding etc. are most likely lacking. Try playing weapons like sword, hammer, spear to get your fundamentals better and then try playing those weapons again

i had a similar issue when i was in gold playing only scythe and gaunts. but then when i got my movement better playing hammer I was able to easily get plat consistently

coaches cant help you adapt to a new control scheme, that's up to you to do

just relearn lots of different combos with the new control scheme and practice them over and over again until it becomes muscle memory

neither control scheme hinders performance in any way really

the only issue you could really have with controls is if you have aim up and jump bound to the same button and/or prioritise neutral over side disabled

the only real issue that controller has is that wireless controllers have a small amount of input lag

other than that keyboard and controller are basically the same

if that's not the problem try making sure you're following what the mission says correctly
if issues persist just leave the game and come back to it another time and see if it works again

it has to be in a matchmaking game. it fully works if they disconnect

that's actually the strat for some missions
make them disconnect and grind
