ensure your aimup and jump buttons are separated to follow this guide effectively

first way is more inconsistent than the second

dlight > jump > cd > nair

if the dlight is gc-ed (gravity cancelled), you do not need to jump
the cd (chase dodge) is horizontal
this is a true combo on any dexterity

second and better way to dlight nair is the buffer version

dlight > buffer cd > nair

you buffer the cd by jumping in the first few frames of the cd emitting
the timing for this is very percise and will take a lot of practice

There could be quite alot wrong with your overall gameplay to prohibit punishgame.
It can USUALLY be figured out whilst watching replays. However,ill give you more blatant advice for both watching replays and punishing in general.

Replays

These little cuties are like a third eye. Once you've opened it. Everything is just open to you. At all times. The problem for some people can be the act of knowing what to look for in our own replays. You have to be able to take a really close look realise why you lost. Its obviously easier said than done. So let's break it down. Each time you got hit, you SHOULD NOT have gotten hit. THINK about why you got hit. "Ok. I uh dashed." Alright. Why did you dash? What was your endgoal? Some times mistakes like these become common. Its not more so to say stop dashing. You have to know why you're dashing so much and go from there. Examine the situations you dash in. And stop doing that. You got hit by a weapon throw offstage and died at red. Why didnt you dodge it? Or. What mistakes led you to be offstage? This within itself can teach you things like to be more cautious about your movement. And can lead you to look for other gameplay inconsistencies you might have. Playing out different situations in your head can also be quite fun. For alot of people, finding that ONE flaw that branches and infects the rest of their gameplay can help them improve more than they might think. For others, it can be more than just one. Takes time.

Another thing. Leads into punishing. Question your offensive decisions. If the enemy has whiffed, and while youre looking back on your replay you notice you didnt do the most optimal punish you could, well fix that. Try maximizing damage where an opportunity to presents itself. Never sell yourself short. Another good rule of thumb. Play (generally) opposite to your opponent. If they are playing aggressive be patient and wait a bit. If they are being patient, be in their face. Finally, analyze your gameplan. In other games,character matchup knowledge is vital. However. This game different.its more focused on the player and the weapons they are using. Find how you play against each one. Sigs can come into play aswell. This can come with adaptation knowledge but replays can help figure out a solid foundation.

Punishing

This is that matchup knowledge shit i was talking about. Knowing the range of the weapon YOU and your opponent plays can help with this greatly. Simple way to put it. Make a small bubble around your enemy. Where their weapons or sigs cant touch you, but they think they can, and YOU can touch them whenever you feel like it. It takes alot of feeling around. And again replays can help with this ALOT. But more so thats the general idea. If you struggle punishing, or you get hit alot by certain moves. Learn the data behind it. More so the range. But frame data can also help. See what your main weapon can do to punish it. And who knows. You might find some neat situations. Don't put yourself in odd situations fishing for a punish. If you cant punish something. Don't. Its better to stay away. I disregard this because im an idiot but its not a good idea. It can lead to very unwanted damage and death.

Abuse blasters aeril kit. Especially against lance. Its one of the better things about blasters. Dair alot. Dlight is a punish tool and ONLY a punish tool. Sometimes you can just be overextending and using dlight when it isnt needed. Slight is a good poke. And nlight can help cover your whiffs
