I just started playing gauntlets and theres something that is puzzling me.
When you hit the grounded dlight ,what should you prioritize, the grounded dlight nair or the dlight dash jump dair?

grounded dlight nair is the most optimal combo from dlight (as long as you get dair/rec/sair followup) but because you've just started playing them you really shouldn't be going for it until you can do every other combo on it fine and even then, its more effort to learn than its worth until high elos (imo). its one of the harder combos to pull off consistently especially if you're not already skilled at the game

dlight > slight,
dlight > dj > dair,
dlight > nlight,
gc dlight > nair > dair/sair(6 dex)/recovery,
dlight > sair,
dlight > gp (the only one thats not a true combo here)

these are all just as effective especially when you're newer to gauntlets and i would learn them all first and when each one is most effective (they all have a use except maybe dlight dj dair imo)

I think thatch is good but i don't really think hes op, blasters aren't exactly meta but still viable and sword is decent, not rly op combination in that case + top 5 players have given him a chance and not stayed playing him. i think while his sigs are some of the better sigs in the game that combo specifically is definitely not what makes them good, sword ssig is 10x better than blaster nsig imo and having a true combo that works till orange isn't really unheard of, other characters have the same thing and no one complains about them

a great tool for positioning is lagdashing. you can stop the momentum of a dash by holding back. this allows you to stop exactly where you want and still be fast

speaking of xpivots, i found myself naturally doing them on hammer without even knowing how

since scythe is a terrible weapon to use against katars you have very little spacing options. approaching with down air and starting strings from there is a good way to counter katars. You have to be precise with your movements when facing katars with scythe also. The easy option is to use lance and approach with sair. then you can follow up with down air after. scythe should do just fine against axe. since most player side air with axe, you can spot dodge the opponent and get an easy punish.
