yea as santi said you shouldn't go for the gp but you should know after hitting someone you can chase dodge which lets you extend your dodge for movement (hit someone and dodge towards them right after if you dont understand), in this case you could have saved yourself if you chase dodged up after the ground pound (you cant chase dodge the opposite direction you were facing so you had to go up, not towards the stage)

1. improve your movement. this will allow you to evade their attacks better
2. learn the spacing. knowing where moves hit will help you not get hit
3. jump. many "spam" sigs dont hit in the air
4. dodge
5. weapon throw. that interrupts sigs
6. stop walking directly towards them
7. change approaches. approaching the same way will cause you to get hit the same way
