That being said, in general there are a few key aspects of Brawlhalla that you can improve on that you might be struggling in:
Movement
Movement is by far the most important thing to understand and utilize in Brawlhalla. Learning movement techniques, like dashing, dash jumping, and fastfalling, and implementing them into your gameplay will give you a headstart over many others.
Gamesense/Decision Making/Knowledge
Gamesense is knowing what to do based on the information you have. Having more knowledge about the game will ultimately improve your gamesense as well. Knowing the range of the weapons, certain signatures, how certain legends want to approach, etc. allows you to play the game in a way that gives you the biggest advantage over your opponent. This skill will come over time as you play the game more.
Mechanics
Although not the most important thing in the world, mechanics can certainly get you past those lower elo's where you are stuck. Learning your weapon's main combos, strings, and your legend's combos and strings can sometimes net you games that you might not otherwise have won. It's good to have these in your back pocket for whenever they are needed.
Mentality
We've all gotten tilted from that Orion that does not let up on that heavy attack button. But one concept that's very important for improving is learning from your mistakes. Keep your cool, watch your replays, and see where you went wrong. You will play worse if you are tilted, so if you are it's a good idea to take a break.

Once you press manage access (shown in gif) you will start earning points, you get 1 point per minute watched from the track the stream has (see below for types of tracks), these are a series of rewards, once you get enough points you will be able to get the code for the track's reward inside the twitch extension and redeem it in brawlhalla's store, under "Redeem Code".
Tournament streams run on the weekends have have their own tracks dedicated to them, usually takes two to three 5+ hour streams to finish.
Dev Streams run every monday, tuesday and friday (timezones may change these days) and have a track which runs over many months, with each stream lasting 60 minutes minimum, meaning it takes 16 hours (16 streams or less) to finish.
Charity Streams run approximately 3-4 times a year, the full track can be finished in one stream, lasting 12 hours or more.

they're being passive? hyperfocus on what they're doing, their movement, how they react to dashing towards them, jumping, pressure with your movement. find cracks in their passive playstyle and win neutral by focusing on them
if u can focus on that instead of panicking, especially in a last stock red situation you will have a big advantage
as long as you're thinking about your attacks and dont do anything too committal you can overcome it

yeah when that happens instead of panicking you dont wanna just attack at them hoping it works, start thinking above movement, the stuff i said above, how you can approach them without committing yourself to an attack, you can bait them with dashes and floating above them to get them to spotdodge/miss, as long as you can think straight especially when its a close game you will have the advantage over them as they are likely panicking too

in your rank no one has mastered anything, even if it feels that way. you dont need to wait for them to attack, you just need to focus on how you can attack them, observe their movement, spacing, exactly how they react to your movement. dash thrown weapons is a good way to break neutral if you dont have any other options. they will make mistakes and you will be able to find a way to break through their playstyle
