I don't know what changed with brawl but every time I try to launch it, the game gets to the "Welcome to Brawlhalla!" stage and then immediately crashes. https://i.imgur.com/fk6RtdV.png. I've verified integrity of files using Steam, uninstalled and installed, downloaded and installed latest updates with Windows Update, updated to the latest graphics drivers. the last thing i can think of is completely reinstalling Windows OS, and i'm not keen on doing it for this game. has anyone else run into this issue and/or knows a solution? it ran perfectly in the past, and i haven't made any changes to my computer that would affect brawl. every over program on my machine runs flawlessly, all expect brawlhalla.

It's not about what move "counters" it (like nlight) - it depends where you are when they do it, I mean if you're just out of reach and on the ground then sure nlight will work but you won't always be in that situation.
The way you "deal" with that move, or any moves really is by spacing them properly and punishing with whatever depending on what position you were in when you spaced it, could be nlight but could also be nair, sair, anything really. Gauntlets slight is a fast move so you won't always be able to punish it so if you think you're too slow then punish what they do after instead of the slight itself, maybe they always jump after missing it or attack straight after, punish that instead if you're not in position to punish the move itself

monitor hz is known to have a pretty big effect on your input lag.

as for your wifi, yes a weak wifi would definitely cause a lot of input lag

It varies between people but imo I'd like to say it's at a point where diamonds, valhallans and everything below isn't a crazy challenge obv not all valhallans are crazy cracked or crazy bad but if it's pretty consistent skill wise and you can carry 1vs2 with odds against you and both are high ranked i think it's a pretty good point in time but for me i don't talk in here much so i guess I'll add been at it for like 7 years almost if not 7 used to be super sweaty 3 years back before swapping to pc after that idk i just didn't feel competitive anymore almost barely ever lost at that point

Now though i don't like pushing too hard it's stressful sometimes makes you sweat and it's just bad for the health so i just play to kill time now

its an event thats been happening for the last 3 weeks, this is the last day of it. Basically winning on a character for the first time grants you the colour for that character permanently, if you win on all characters while the event is active you'll get the colour for all legends-current and future ones. the colour is permanent it wont go away

if you have every character available then definitely try for the universal colour scheme (by winning on each person once) as then if the colour never comes back you'll have it for future, unreleased legends too

cannon and axe are both best in advantage state. axe is great for putting pressure on your opponent, taking control of the stage, and punishing your opponent's mistakes, while cannon is best at building up lots of damage in strings whenever you catch your opponent with a combo starter

so the main thing to keep in mind whenever you're playing xull is that you're gonna have a harder time approaching BUT your advantage state makes up for it

rather than trying to get an attack in first you should use your weapons' 'threat areas' (the areas your attacks cover best) to put pressure on your opponent and try and get them to make the first move, giving you the best opportunity to punish

the other thing to keep in mind is anticipating your opponent's next move, so rather than trying to land an attack on your opponent and them being able to dodge out of the way with their high speed, you attack the area they're above to move into so when they attempt to avoid the attack they still get hit

I’ve been a sword main playing hattori in ranked 2050+ trying to push into 2100. I have problems vs scythe and lance mostly, missing attacks and poor reaction time for punishing moves, any suggestions?

the main advice i have for playing against scythe is to pay full attention to when you dodge and where you're dodging to, since it's very good at catching and punishing dodges

you gotta make sure to use dodges they can't catch as easily (e.g. up and away in some situations) or, if possible, don't dodge at all

as for lance the main threats are dair and sair, so you gotta make sure you account for the areas those moves threaten and avoid going into them when they have an opportunity to attack

also low diamond is the perfect elo to start trying out a few other legends/weapons to see if there's anything else you might find better success with, otherwise if you want to stick with what you've already learned you can try watching or playing against higher elo players to see what they do differently and how you can work towards doing the same

and finally, if you're kinda unsure of what you're doing wrong in your matches you can try analysing your replays to see things like missed attacks or opportunities you had throughout the match

I think the issue is for a lot of people the exp queue is pretty random and if they don't have someone of similar skill level to spar with they'll end up either fighting a lot of people worse than them or playing against ppl that destroy them and they don't learn anything about the weapon

Playing ranked and losing cause you're not used to a weapon isn't a problem, you can always get your elo back playing whatever weapons you got it with in the first place

So in the case where you just wanna improve a weapon ranked will be the best place to find opponents for it, even if you lose a bit of elo in the process
