Current Problem:
Microphone Always On: When I join a game, my microphone is automatically on and recording by default.
Need to Manually Mute: To stop it from recording, I have to press "T" to mute it every single time I join a game.
Push-to-Talk Confusion: I prefer using push-to-talk, where the mic is off by default and only turns on when I press and hold "V".
However, if I don't press "T" to mute the mic first, pressing "V" actually mutes the mic when held down, which is the opposite of what push-to-talk should do.
Desired Solution:
Option to Choose Mic Mode:
-
Push-to-Talk: Mic is off by default and only activates when holding down "V".
-
Toggle Mic: Press a key like "T" to turn the mic on or off.
-
Both: Same functionally as currently.
Save Settings: The chosen mic mode should be saved so I don't have to adjust it every time I join a game.
Why This Matters:
Convenience: It's inconvenient and frustrating to manually mute the mic every time I join a game.
Proper Functionality: The current setup is confusing because the push-to-talk button ("V") doesn't work as expected unless I first mute the mic with "T".
Privacy: I don't want my mic on by default without my consent.
Summary:
I want the ability to select push-to-talk as my default microphone setting, so the mic stays off unless I'm holding down "V".
The current system forces me to mute the mic manually each time and causes the push-to-talk function to work in reverse if I don't.
Providing clear options and saving my preference would greatly improve the user experience.
