I don’t think they’re fighting each other. In the book you receive after beating the God of Avarice, it’s mentioned that the Prefect is looking out for the Emperor and wants to take care of the mess in Kaifeng so the Emperor can focus on fighting the Khitan. He even expresses concern for the Emperor’s health, which makes it seem like the two of them actually care a lot about each other. The Prefect himself also says that he is fine with playing the villain if it means the people will continue to see the Emperor as wise and kind.

Problem with a lot of the game sadly you just get awkward lines or lines that say the opposite of what they should mean or the line so fast you can’t even read it or you read a letter and the subtitles you can only see by exiting reading the letter to see what mc is saying

One time the dialogue was so fast not only did the mc not finish speaking even the text didn’t finish displaying before ending

I just finished the main story and wow. Firstly, that god of avarice boss was kind of easy compared to some of the campaigns

But then Tian Ying is a legend and Rongyuan is a proper mohist disciple so them being strong is given

Just began exploring revelry hall to have them good sisters all cozy up to me, and man, our MC really be doing them rizzing for the ladies... You don't even need to succeed at any minigames cuz they purposely lose to give you stuff and become your sugarmommy

So she bought a bunch of cheap goods and hoarded them to sell when the situation becomes more stable...

But Zhao Kuangyin did not commit a city wide purge. He and his court moved into the city peacefully.

Which meant now all those people who sold all their belongings and are very much alive now are starving outside the city.

Worse yet... One of the people who sold off all their belongings in fear... Was Turtle Granny, her own 'mother'. That's when she realized... She was mistaken for Yingying because Turtle Granny's daughter, Yingying, was slaughtered by the Khitans in the last city-wide slaughter.

So the wealth disparity in the city... Was worsened by her hands, as countless people were thrown into poverty because of her scheme, and Turtle Granny sold off all her belongings and became extremely poor, her last bit of belonging being the blood money from her son going off to war.

And, forced into being a refugee too because she threw away her chance to get rich so Turtle Granny didn't starve to death... She thought about when she was still the Ember of the East - She casually threw a piece of jade into a crowd of starving people and laughed at them being like ravenous dogs. And she realized, everyone can become a ravenous dog when they're hungry and desperate.||

And you guys thought the red robed official, the black god of wealth ||was a bad guy?

Guy used to be a beloved merchant who ran a great business named Shi Zhen(Truth, 真), because you need to treat everyone with sincerity(Zhen Xin, 真心). Everyone loved him... But if there's a business people can run, Weiyang City can run it. If Weiyang City can run the business, then the other people running that business can disappear.

So it was the Ember of the East who took over his business and destroyed his life, forcing him to fight stray dogs for food.

Until one day, just to watch the poor people fight and entertain himself, the ember of the east threw a piece of priceless jade into the masses just to watch them like watching dogs fight.

So after this humiliation, the guy decided to cast away his kindness and name and get back whatever way he can, and changed his name from Zhen(真）to Zhen(鸩), a poisonous bird, to become a poisonous scorpion and become more toxic than anyone.||
