One thing i know for sure tho,the main villains has aura, and through qinchuan's story we see him again and again, also we see him as young, but the thing i cant explain Is,when young he had black hair, when he got old he has white hair, but still looks young,Is he immortal or something?
i was under the impression that the zhao er didnt know big zhao is heading toward the treasure basin area so YM was truly posion but big zhao is there is make sure they are not actually going to die and even if they failed, he is going to make sure zhao er feed them the antidote regardless what.
Ok nevermind i solved the mystery,im just dumb
yeah idt the name was explicitly stated, but from what I understand about the dream puppets, it wouldn't exactly stop one's body from aging but rather they won't "die" (since they're technically zombies), but it could be a hint they planted🤔
Thanks. Just read all of that. But how does 5 become 16, and why is 16 written that way?
Ahhhh i see, yeah the moment big zhao saved us with the chicken and goose attacks, it means he recognized our identity and knew YM isn't a foe, and an asset to be in good terms with each other (thanks to aunt han & uncle jiang's connections)
Through tuning (for higher pitched notes), even the 5 notes are derived based on the note HuangZhong (Bell, a recurring aspect we saw in game). The sixteen pitches were then obtained by tuning the 5 notes, originally only 12, with the extra 4 I marked in red boxes added later by Chai Rong who commisioned the musician, not only to make the notes more complete, but also adding on aspects (12 + 4) for a peaceful nation(which are all the categories you see in your compendium). While logo that is a combination of Ten(十) and Six (六), one reason is aesthetics, another is also matching how cn character's evolve, like in my picture for example. From how people drew a swallow to represent the character, which slowly evolves to the character 燕 we all are familiar now
GIVE ME YOUR F NOTES
So the 5 came from 12+4
Shh bb
here is the flow of the notes, base note HuangZhong (like modern middle C) -> 5 notes -> 16 pitches
So you’re saying 十六 used to be written kinda like 十l十?
Oh, I thought you were talking abt the wwm logo TT, but if you're talking about the evolution of the character itself, intially 1-4 are represented by horizontal lines, 5 & 7 are like a cross sign, while 6 & 8 are like split ends with 10 being represented as a vertical line. After that people don't want to confuse it with one (一), so they would either thicken the middle part of the vertical line / write a dot, which then evolves into a straight line making 10 (十). From the cn dictionary (说文解字), since 10 is composed by the cn character for 1 (represent completeness) and the vertical line that originally means 10 (represents connections), it symbolizing the completion and perfection of numbers.
Aight so,i understood nothing
Why Is there an italian flag?😭
Aight removed it
Where Winds Meet cn name is called Yanyun's Sixteen Sounds (燕云十六声), and the logo is a combination of the characters for Ten & Six in cn (which means sixteen), sounds is one of the core themes of wwm, the english name was given as sounds could be heard at the intersections of winds. Some explanation here if you're interested:#📖lore-chat message

so there is some math
oh
mhm, that's the way of getting their notes (by altering the length of the pitch pipe)
Ok Sherlock✌️😭
Absolute cinema!!
No that just number like how you put 10 and 6. 16
Oh wait number is math. So yeah it math sorry
My bad
Well, music is math
question, Do you think there will be water margin faction in this game?

next patch has new main quest?
why tf store quets are too chatty?
Does indeed
Remind me rq when that patch is
28th, one week away
a main quest? about what
Exploring the Imperial Palace in Kaifeng
ohh
It's not a Main Chapter, it's a Lost Chapter so not connected to the main plot but supports the overall world building.
The next Main Chapter will be Chapter 4, taking place in Bujian Mountains, likely a summer release time, not in this season.
i see i see. looking forward to it
is there gonna be a gay story or is there already one
since there's already a lesbian one does that mean there's also a gay story
Hell nah bruh ..
The imperial palace trailer, showed big Zhao as a boss? Why does he look so different to when we first met him? Are we going back in time?
there's lesbian story so there's gotta be a gay one too
he glew up
I petition that one of the guys should be well of heaven disciple
here with you
im not even gay, i lowkey js want a gay story in wwm
Hmmm bed-warming maids yeah?!
After google search i found out human bed warmer is actual thing. Before this i have heard it but i thought it just slang for *** i didn't know it was literall job back then
Is this the Buijan mountain where qianye in
omg this was so exciting to read, as i am a huge music enthusiast so seeing how much more music/sound is intertwined with the game is amazing! Do you have any reading/video recommendations in regards to this theme or maybe some chinese music philosophy i should read up on for more insight?
Kinda been wanting to delve into reading chinese philosophy/history to be able to understand more of the game, but as someone who had barely any knowledge in that area before wwm it's such an overwhelming thing, i don't really know where to start looking 🥲
Yes
Is An Liuli supposed to be Turkic? She has blue eyes.
||the white half of Qianye is aunt Han’s brother?||
What next after unseen mountain?
Qingzhou
Try the YouTube channel goose girl. That where I mostly get my Chinese history and lore from. If you wanna go even more deeper, the best I can suggest is to look into the late tang dynasty, five dynasty and the early song dynasty cuz those are the period that the game cover til now
She's Sogdian. "An" is one of the Nine Sogdian Surnames and she comes from a merchant family 🙂 The Ans live in Bukhara.so that's probably where she was from.
What story of this region?
The CN server just got that region
All I know is that it is the base of inkbound order
I mean what ym doing in there
idk check CN content
To checkout the Inkbound order with a side of tourism™
It's side content, no main plot
You telling me that inkbound is putting a promotion of themselves
What sect global still dont have, mohist, inkbound, hollow vale, lone cloud what else?
Yeah kinda 😂
Those are the only ones announced. Hollow Vale is not out in CN yet
Think it’s around there though most are already released in CN except hollow vale
After hear npc talking in qinchuan, i learn that xunyuan and lone clad have same vision but xunyuan cult doing in bad way
tbh you should not replace people like some sort of body snatchers or influence some guy's fate cuz it may cause some horrible thing if not do otherwise
haha
it gets cold at night in the desert 😄
Most of the videos I watched are in CN, but I found a short video explaining this topic (the author also do lore videos for this game in great detail), you can also search up the key words 黄钟(音律), 五音, 十二律, 四清声, 十六律. The in game compendium also provides context about the pitches if you read the descriptions
Link: https ://youtu.be/kgotAlT_8lM?si=0y6WuysbNSviKxs7
The leaders (LiChunFeng & Yuan TianGang) parted ways due to different ideals. Yuan Tian Gang believed that if the heavenly law can be calculated, it can also be controlled, so the XuanYun Cult tried to replace heaven (which means nature) with human will. The Yuan TianGang you saw in qinchuan is fake, every new leader will adopt this name as a fake vision of Yuan TianGang being immortal. The XuanYun cult were also the same group that tried to brainwash and control JinZhongYuan in the unnatural omen quest (kaifeng)
I still dont understand with the quest in martial art temple, what we do there why the painter send ym to the underground?
kinda, but I heard it's going to fill some of the plotholes the region is still updating, so we can't say for sure
actually could i ask why are they body snatching people in that small village in qinchuan? are they on the lookout for the golden peace. I still exploring the village
basically, the temple was closed down by the court, beneath the temple is a weaponry arsenal, someone dug a tunnel & kept their private soldiers, the painter is on Song Court's side, we are there to settle those soldiers
wasnt the painter the one who either put the yellow robe on big zhao or make it
Still dont understand the whole plotpoint
one reason is this, another is bc xuanyun cult suffered a huge lost since Lone Cloud's leader (XieRuHui) wiped out quite a number of the cult members & eliminated the real Yuan TianGang, you'll learn about it if you do the wandering tales
yeah, he was the one making the robe using his family's techniques, the same person who stole out the blueprint of the warship murong yuan was recreating from Shu and offered it to Song
sorry what you mean by stolen out the blueprint
Shi ShouXin was working for ZhaoKuangYin, the court is in need of money. On the surface, the court is recalling those private soldiers & weaponry (to be placed in the temple for worshipping purposes), while what actually happened is that ShiShouXin will be selling those weaponry through the ghostlight market, so the two made a deal - 60% for Big Zhao and the rest divide equally between the ghostlight market & ShiShouXin himself. Also there was reports saying that ShiShouXin has been building a private army in the temple, so the court sent someone to check the situation (which is the painter) + to retrieve the book about the arts of war that also records confidential info about the court from ShiShouXin's adopted son Shi Zhen
does that mean shi shou xin is lowkey want to rebel against big zhou
the painter (namely The Twelve Immortals where you can read is bio in game), was a famous painter from Shu, he was swept into political mess as he was framed to forge a painting called The Twelve Immortal's portrait (can't rlly remember the name), so to protect himself, he stole the original blueprint of the Quintadent warship from Shu (which murong yuan recreated and improved) and offered it to Song which allows him to earn the trust of the court
yep, he's having the intentions, but luckily with YM & the painter's interference, they were suppressed, or kaifeng's mess would only worsen
Stole blueprint from murong?
Didnt murong always gonna making the ship for the song
mb, was typing too fast that I missed out, the original blueprint is from Shu, that's why in the jinming pool quest, the shu envoy requested for the blueprint because it was originally their stuff
maybe its been a while but where is shu?
Is this same shu from 3 kingdom?
this shu is refering to the five dynasties ten kingdoms late shu
a rough indicator (Tang here is southern tang)
Are they same shu?
I mean what happen 3 kingdom after 3 kingdom, whos the winner?
damn no wonder why the central plains is getting screwed over by southern tang and khitan
totally different authorities, it's just that the base of their nation are the same
central plains surrounding tang, so for southern tang's defense, they also got the central plains surrounded, with khitans being their strongest allies, which is why the assassination plan at breeze post was initiated to cut off their relationship (southern tang & khitan)
Lol
The winner is Sima Yi. Cao cao right hand man
does he really right hand man tho? heard he only joined cao cao to keep his family & his life safe
and cao cao doesn't trust him in fear of his ambition
So jin kingdom
also five dynasty and ten kingdoms had nothing to do with three kingdoms
they just share same country title
so can i say the five dynasty is a free for all while the three kingdom is 3 pvp
How to visit sandstorm tavern?
Different time periods, the latter is much later than the former iirc
There's a marker on the map, middle of Qinghe I think, that dude with the boat
Thanks
"stole" 🙂
Well i mean back in history if you were frame for something ud be jailed and possibly executed without fair trial (or just plain ole silenced by currupt officals.)
Yeah, he's now Big Zhao's trusted spy, the shu envoy that attended the petalfall banquet (jinming pool), was also using the opportunity to capture & kill him (if possible)
Im sure will meet a famous assassin soon depending on which way writer goes with the history.
which is part of the reason why Murong Yuan decided to trigger the explosive mechanism when it was meant to be activated much later, she already made the changes on the blueprint, if the shu envoy really got their hands on the blueprint, she will be in huge trouble as well
I just hope its not the mountain bandits
we do have quite a few assassins (not everyone doing this for a living obviously), anyone could be an assassin in this world
Oh ik but im talking about specific historic ones of the current era.
Then again Im still thinking about whether were gonna be thrown into time skip due to "certain" war is about couple hundred years incoming
A war that uhhhh they do not like discussing about
But involves the East Trading Company and a Island nation that has troops with giant black bear fur hats.
well, we do have one who is famous in game which is Tian Ying, his name was mentioned in historical records only once that was the assassin who murdered the khitan envoy during the breeze post incident. The game expanded and gave him a complete story who successfully changed the outcome of the power distribution during the 5 dynasties 10 kingdoms period
He had such a good story.
The only thing we know currently is the devs decided to set the time period of the game approximately between 962-980, we never know how far they'll go / change their decisions (this game from an interview back in 2024)
Interesting, just tiny bit looking up all i see is war
Technically a crusade to the north
wait you saying tian ying is based on an actual dude that did a similar thing irl
sorry what you mean a island nation with giant black bear fur head
Very simple go look up soldiers with bear fur hats. : )
Then ull know who im talkin about rlly. They sorta did a war (very bad one)
Which takes place in china.
sorry i only think of the mongols, are you talking about them
wait are you talking about the english
Yes.
well i woudlnt say they dont like to dicuss it but more toward " the british mf screw us over"
no one rlly like the british even their neighbours
I just finished The People's Wish.
I'm a bit confused on who and why caused the massacre at the temple in one of the stories, and who was the 4th person hiding in the secret passage and why where the monks and the other three protecting him/her so much
any CN version players
from what i can still remeber and understand. The main culpit is the longwu army who belong zhu Wen aka the guy who killed the main villian'(white hair dude)'s dad, aka the guy who start the five dynasty era.
if i remeber correctly, he want the golden peach which is supposed be a powerful object. cant remember what the 4th dude's deal though i suspect he have infomation on the golden peach.
So the army come in to find the peach cuz they properly hear of the 4th guy having the info but if i am correct, the monks didnt give the info so were killed but what i am certain is that the three come back, saw the massacre and try to fight off the army but more still come in so got tortured by the army.
So to protect the 4th guy, they give the wrong info and kill themselves before the army realised they were tricked
guys wwm interacitive is safe or not ?
Hexi is main content
Imperial Palace is filler
ah, ok. yeah, in hindsight i should have known it was about the peach.
Ty for the explanation
Who ever designed the quest Twilight Tales, your mom's a ho
Yeah, breeze post incident was actually a real incident as well (the difference is that in game, it was WeiDaoJi who initiated the plan, irl history was different)
you would have better hope asking in #1425508678219468811 , there's a channel for cn content
thanks! I already ate wwm girl/goose girl's videos up a while ago, helped me so much with connecting all the scattered lore pieces in my mind
thank you so much!
You mean that creepy forest quest? Lowkey I kinda of like it, I mean ya it confusing as hell sometimes but hey got that creepy atmosphere
Is Ruby from Kaifeng just a figment of imagination?
I have no idea what everyone is talking about here
She’s dead right
||Yes, there's even a tombstone you can visit.||
when did we got Ruby at Kaifeng?..
Yea, like I said, I have no idea what everyone is talking about
do you mean little girl you meet soon after arriving in Kaifeng? with the rat hat?
that's not Ruby
Nah. At Murong Yan's area I think
There Is no way,are they actually adding slap battles in this game?
That Is little fu
I know, I was asking if that's who they were thinking of when asking about Kaifeng Ruby 😄
because that's the first little girl that came to my mind when thinking Kaifeng

During the people's wish quest. The third tomb with the monk and soldiers dying. Was the constable the last person the 3 drifters tried to hide? If so who was that guy?
yes, that constable is palm strike sage (not to be confused with palm strike master)
im not sure which part of the story you are up to so i’ll leave it at that
WHAAAAAAT?!?!?!?!?!
Where the indication of that?
Me done but Im clearing main story for a friend so Im redoing it and seeing some details. Like how I think the constable is in a hurry to run away from MC. And says he came to the temple 4days ago around the timeframe the longwu army left.
So all good!! I didnt expect palm strike sage!
we know that palm strike sage passed the golden peach to fang bai in the mist forest
the body there looks exactly like the constable
Ooohhh you know what I never looked closely.
Also Wang Qin and Li Zhuo used to be friends? When they played Go that was a representation of battles between aureate pavillion on northern vow, right? What does general wang qing meant with being a part of the game, why was there a drop of blood?
i think they used to be friends? i’m not sure but it seems to be implied. yes, the Go matches were a representation of their respective faction’s battles with each other. in the last battle (battle of zhongdu bridge), the drop of blood represents wang qing’s death (he became a part of the game, maybe he sacrificed himself for everyone else?)
i think we will find more out about the events of zhongdu bridge in the upcoming patches (palace and mohist/unseen mountain)
It was pretty amazing how they represented that. For each white piece trying to vanquish the black, more white pieces die when the black retaliate.
My other interpretation was instead of them being actual friends at one point, they fought each other for so long that theyve become acquaintances in war.
The zhongdu bridge battle depiction was really awesome. I knew it pointed to it but I wasnt sure if being a part of the game meant him dying or him coming to the frontlines. But the general has always been hands on in the war.
the other interpretation makes alot of sense too, didnt think of that
the game teases the aftermath of zhongdu bridge in hexi dark surge cutscene if you havent done it already
Oh I haveeent. Okay time to do that.
The fact that Persia was mentioned in the story is lowkey wild, i never thought that they would get mentioned but I am curious would they have their own cultivation methods and do they compare to china? Now im more curious about other countries and their own martial arts
Oh exciting! Ive always wondered about that. My first encounter of zhongdu was the shadow play in harvestfall village.
Btw... I kept confusing palm strike sage and palm strike master. Why do they have similar names? 😭
make sure to have sounds on for the cutscene, personally its my favorite dark surge so far
Will do. Will do. 🩷
I havent done kaifeng yet either. After maybe when I finish main story for my friend.
i think cultivation is a xianxia concept, wwm uses a wuxia power system (no cultivation just pure martial arts)
Btw people keep mentioning the little girl in the quest is actually the founder of the silver needle sect? How do we know that???
Yeah, the two used to be close friends w QingYi (LiZuo's lover), most probably they got to know each other during the time when LiZuo found QingYi at Gleaming Abyss (the two actually lived together for years in the cave). The moves in their chess match also represents their relationship & their current (I don't know chess sadly, but there are other indications like their body language, voice lines & weather) that indicates how they slowly get apart. Another detail is the way LiZuo addresses Wang Qing (but was sadly robbed a bit from the localization)
Ah gotcha, that makes more sense but tbh when the immortal peach was mentioned i was like huh are we gonna fight some immortals?
their names were derived by their martial arts which is by using their palms, it's quite distinct in cn (language barriers TT)
Also dream puppets are just like jiangshis right? Same concept or whatever
from wandering tales & also the jade pendant with her name on it
Damn I really gotta do them smh
Wuxia can also involve cultivation, and the game's English text does mention it here and there. I think it's just more grounded in martial arts specifically than xianxia.
Ty for letting me know
The game emphasizes two types of immortality, physical (dream puppets, similar to jiangshi since they will end up loosing their sanity) & spiritual (the peach, even if those peple are physically dead, their stories will still be known and heard by people of the future generations).
Damn I forgot that items have lore descriptions oml</3333
I can't speak to how the CN game text reads, however, to know whether the term is being used with the expectation an English audience would grasp it better than some other term.
Ngl during the Go battle Im straining to understand whats happening esp during the clue deduction part. The clues sort of makes sense but not really. 😭
yeah i was trying to make sense and try to choose based on the clue description and out of 3 times i only got one correct 🤣
me with no basic foundation of go tryna make sense the game between LiZuo and WangQing: 'hmm i definitely get what this specific move mean'
eternal is cooking
Btw! Just got back to the forest section in main story. The carving on the dead tree reads: Tomb of Palm Strike Sage. 😭
Palm strike master was Lan Ao's father right? Did fang bai really kill ps sage?
Fang Bai didn't killed the palm sage iirc and what I understand from the quest. Fang Bai killed the prince general we had to fight and died shortly after. Fang Bai and Lan Ao was in love but separated and Lan Ao sacrificed herself for Fang Bai so I do not think Fang Bai will killl Palm Strike Sage
Yeah thats what I thought. But why was ps sage dead?
Due to the whole region of the city being blow up to piece and he was caught up in it and died as well iirc
It's really relatable for those who doesn't know chess including myself, so I actually looked up quite some videos (I may be wrong TT, but I'll try to convey what I understand). To understand this, a Go match has 3 stages: Opening (both sides would establish their formations) -> Middle Game (basically starting to launch their attacks) -> End game (when the winner/loser is evident, the game is wrapped up and players are claiming their final points)
First match: Both Wang Qing & LiZuo are trying to determine their formations for their survival. Comparing to LiZuo who is sharper, Wang Qing is like a stream that goes with the flow while waiting for the best opportunity to strike. If we see the chess board as the central plains, from how the two chose the exact same position to place their pieces, it's referring to Yanyun's sixteen prefectures. Flying net (correct move) = giving up Yanyun & claim the central plains first, Defend and make life (by creating "live" pieces, a move to prevent those pieces getting captured) = reclaiming Yanyun (from how they address each other, this most probably happened after ShiJingTang gave away the prefectures to the Khitans), so with the two's current strength, there's no way they could reclaim the prefectures, which is why they both agreed it is a bad move (defend & make life).
**Second match: **QingYi died, LiZuo lost his mind and intend to use dream puppets to continue their dreams (to create a nation of pure kindness), the chess match is in the second stage. Wang Qing's (white) chess pieces is able to encircle LiZuo's (black) pieces, but LiZuo might also be able to clear a large amount of white pieces. Ladder-Breaker Placement (correct choice) = when you're surrounded, forcing the opponent to exhaust more pieces with 1 piece, Destroy Eye = putting your piece down on their "eye", stopping the opponent from creating an empty space (in other words, "live" pieces since the opponent is unable to capture those pieces). This stage is still referring to giving up Yanyun or not. Wang Qing believed that reclaiming yanyun is unrealistic, while LiZuo thought he already understood human nature, and with his own strength (immortality & dream puppet army), he's able to alter fate. LiZuo's line: "Bleed enough and the path reveals itself.", means by using the dream puppets to eliminate what makes a human (desires, emotions) to achieve "peace" since there will no longer be conflicts.
Third match: The chess match happened before the zhongdu bridge war, and is now at the End game stage. At this point, taking pieces off the board is not allowed anymore, which means Wang Qing lost the match. Yet Wang Qing said he still has a piece that could alter fate, which means he intend to become the person who fight against destiny. From how all the chess pieces disappeared after, it (could) means the match came to a draw. Wang Qing used his life to break LiZuo's formations (and plans), marking the beginning of a new story (which is the loading screen of Jiang carrying us, the baby).
i felt my brain burning while trying to combine the interpretations
tysm for your analysis eternal they really help us understand wwm better esp for those who are not used to very subtle cultural stuff TT
big sis wu???
I just wanna ask if Aynur actually got her revenge or not? And what happened to her after that?
Yes hun
well...
she didn't... the revenge scene we see was just a dream
If you eavesdrop on some ppl at kingsvine village, they said that she went insane and committed suicide
Where I can find a girlfriend
Anywhere but this server
How

the past is the past, there's nothing we can do except for watching it fall which is why we fought the lions
Ik honey nothing is sunshine and rainbows
Still doesn’t make it feel better

We should I go
that last part esp TT i was kind of aware this was before Zhongdu bridge because old WangQing model is the same we see in the trailer plus spoilers|| the Zhongdu bridge scene|| but did not knew when WangQing was saying that he was actually going to be the one defying fate even when it costs his death
I just wanted a dress up game. Not depression and angst for everyone
There's a cost for that hahaha
And it's so heartbreaking to see how at first, the two were on the same side, slowly becoming apart until he was long gone. It's exactly why he said he still has another piece, because the zhongdu bridge war = wang qing's end game, he knows he's going to die there
this paired with the encounter quest with he ran in Qinghe just showed how prepared he was and how he's willing to fight just for the sake of it
it was also sad to see the two friends drift apart esp at 2nd match where you can see the grief struck LiZuo is inpenetrable when WangQing was trying to talk to him
At times where war would just begin without warning, those stories are picturing what life was like back then
The chokehold QingYi has on LiZuo which is understandable as the childhood friend that stood by his side no matter what🥹
experiencing the carriage quest in Qinchuan really helped me understand the relationship between them better too QingYi always sticked to LiZuo even when he has nothing losing someone that dear to you would drive anyone crazy esp LiZuo's situation
This is awesome thank you! I understood the rules of go and chess I play it a little. Im not good mind you. Haha. But what I struggle was their conversation in relation to what was happening in the match. Plus it doesnt help that when you deduce clues some of the clues dont make sense at all...
Thank you for this. 🩷
ps sage probably died bc of how everyone is aiming for the peach (news of him having the peach leaked out so people came for him) which he met and passed it to fang bai
Replying to this... 😭
I'm also learning smth new so it's a win win XD
together we learn
Isnt he a strong jianghu wanderer? Then again if like multiple wanderers swarmed him he'd be overpowered.
Ah speaking of lions. What does the lions mean here? Theres a lion dasan pass and theres another lion when we fought "in the moon"
Also is the moon chang'an or...?
unfortunatley his power declined
esp after he went into court (which is kinda sad cause he just wanted to help cure his daughter)
that could be a possibility since whole qinchuan is aiming for the peach, one person's strength is limited🥹
Wasnt that palm strike master? Thats a different person no?
Fr 😭
The lion is us
Moon means home, and chang'an is home
#📖lore-chat message about the lions
palm strike master and sage are diff ppl? if so i might misremember it but i thought you were mentioning Lan Ao's dad my bad TT
Palm strike master is lan shou chi
Lan ao's father
Palm strike sage is fang bai's teacher
ah fack i missed some things time to read the quest again
This is amazing. Proud of young master. 😭
yeah the palm strike master actually bypassed those who came to check by pretending to suffer from loss of bladder control (it smells too bad so they didn't bother to check), but since he's old and also suffered from the explosion, he couldn't make it long
@crimson birch
This I understand. Ps sage was the one more elusive for me.
Tbf their names are so similar lol
i wonder if it's the same for cn text
the devs deliberately left it blank so it's safe to assume that he most probably got ganged up after the news were leaked, and met fang bai while he was heavily injured, Fang Bai knew holding the peach is risky so he sent his 4 junior brothers to Mustard Hut & decided to revenge himself
So the moon having the silhoutte of chang'an on its face is similar to how the people of hexi felt back then. So close, yet so far away.
Iirc ym mentioned by the end chang'an became more than a city. Its the people's home, what represents as their dreams, their hopes, their goals. That was touching.
in cn, palm strike sage is 藏贤掌(Cang Xian Zhang), while palm strike master is 惊涛掌(Jing Tao Zhang)
hidden(?) palm vs storm(?) palm but why they did do sage and master for localization?
They always see home, but did they reach it in time?😭
straight to the feels gng
Also I just wanna share, before the epilogue quest, I didnt like paper moon as much. It felt to me more of a romance story than the continual themes of home, belongingness, etc. That chang'an represented.
But Brother Painter mentioned that they were 2 girls, bound by their fates and trying to defy it. Overcoming the mountain to reach their chang'an. Their chang'an is a new life together, in peace. Living far away from everything that tie them down.
Suddenly I felt really really sad for them. 😭 😭
Hmm that too.
esp the scene when liuli came to pick up guanyin
i will still have my own moon even if the moon in chang'an isn't all that anyways (or similar line iirc)
Alsooo okay Im redoing sunken city lake. What is this voice that is resounding around the lake?
😭 Raye I'm gonna a cry
im so sorry lan lan but TT i was also super teary during paper moon and i couldn't stop them falling when i saw liuli dove into the wine cup moon
Palm Strike Master's name also matches his legendary story of how he splitted a cliff with one blow & shattered another with half a blow, since the peach grove pass was build on top of water, if you translate JingTaoZhang, it means Surging Waves Palm (matching how he shattered the debris at the end to escape, but again I'm bad in special nouns TT)
Xian here means sage so I assume they used this for localization, while JingTao is probably a bit awkward(?
feels like just palm strike master is a downgrade from it's original intricate meaning but then again lost in translation TT
it's sadder if you understand the meaning of the names' of the girls 🥹 #📖lore-chat message
The title is really a key to his character, it's really a pity🥹
Inevitable
we need better translators ngl
and actual human translators plus also knows the context of the story too
yeah... TT i was tryna cope hence bought liuli's fit when it came to shop holding onto the last thread
Help 😭 😭
There is no happiness in the jianghu... 😭
Wait isnt lan shouchi the inspector we saw at the very beginning that looked... pathetic? 😭
Was the person he made wait Lan ao? Man...
Yes
Also there's another crucial detail that they somehow decided to leave out which helps to understand their relation. Due to how seniority & respect are valued back then, ancient people generally has 2 names, one original name (名) and another courtesy name (字), given when they hit adulthood, as addressing someone directly using their original name is disrespectful (esp towards seniors/elders). The meaning behind the courtesy names are also tightly related to/complimenting their original name as well. Wang Qing's (王清) name which is Qing, means pure/clarity, while his courtesy name is QuXia (去瑕) that means removing flaws/impurities. LiZuo is older than Wang Qing by 2 yrs, so LiZuo could totally address Wang Qing by his original name, but to show their closeness, in the first match LiZuo actually called Wang Qing by his courtesy name QuXia, but in the second match, he used Wang Qing (yk smth is wrong when someone close to you is calling you by your full/original name). It also fits Wang Qing's decision/intention as he decided to become the one who removes the world's impurities
||Old man yaoi||
The amount of weird pronouns is evident enough
she to he and he to she...
ok accidental woke but pls get them right we are tryna piece bit of lore
He did this all for Lan Ao his beloved daughter who was suffering from a disease, his daughter is his everything😭
esp how back then he (他) can also be used for both genders so without context it's going to be off🥹
He's not showing it tho. He even said the Liang princes is his family and whoever was waiting didn't matter. Later on there was a journal right where he got so engrossed in reaching for power he forgot why he was doing this in the first place. He got lost in the sauce somewhere.
ugh it's gets to a point ngl yeah TT hence the more need for ppl who actually understands the lore of wwm too
Also who is Su Huaiwei? She was mentioned as having the 'moon' half of the jade pendant which combined becomes moonstream.
Said to be in Herbgrove. Is there a wandering tales/side quest for her?
||This sword with plum blossom tassel was commissioned by General Wang Qing for Jiang Yan as a birthday gift for him. You know what Jiang Yan used it for? To kill his adoptive father, that's the very sword that was given to him on his nineteenth birthday.||
His father was already dead (no longer human) but Jiang Yan having to do that to his own father who raised him with care
The moment he decided to kneel down to others (means discarding his dignity) he already lost himself, he may not have showed it since it's been so long (years)+ Lan Ao decided to leave (she didn't want to be a burden)
Also He Ran's breaking down when he learnt the truth of his hatred towards Jiang Yan when he learnt the truth...
I wonder how is He Ran is faring ngl
esp after that quest...
||The hero's sword that slayed a hero...||🥹
yep there is, she will be at mustard hut and you will learn about her
I still believed Uncle Jiang was completely innocent and simply forced his own hand ||immediately after hearing his adoptive father say "Hurry..."||
Agreed. 💯
Its just a shame. And to think people see him as the symbol fof the court and jianghu wanderer's unity.
Ooohh okie I'll go visit there after.
Jiang willingly took up the "name" of killing his father + taking away the jade, and who did the same thing? His own father, who distracted him to ensure his survival, not wanting him to die in the battle if things went wrong🫠
That's where the charm of his character is, he's willing to sacrifice everything if that means a chance for his daughter's cure no matter how slim it is😭
The general became a zombie creature, jiang put him out of his misery
You guys play in CN i suppose
I agree it may have been in the beginning. I still think he lost his purpose along the way. We are free to interpret his character as we understood the story. He's not a bad father per se, but I definitely think he is blinded by the court later on.
Cause u know things igot no clue abt
Until now, He Ran absolutely had no idea he would unintentionally send General Wang Qing to a much worse fate that Jiang Yan had to put the general down ||just to prevent further escalation.||
I mean it's not rlly spoilers, with the info of the Twisted Destiny encounter + start of the game where Jiang took our jade, blissful retreat is obviously getting marked for quite some time (esp how reputable the water lady is), jiang has been bountied all these years because of him taking wang qing out of his misery & escaping with the jade, which explains why he took it away to ensure YM's safety while handling the mess himself
M8, I've been following CN news and stuff of course you're gonna get spoiled a lot
Is the jade s secret out ?
Do they develop the story furtjer in cn ?
Im kinda confused of the nature of Lan Ao's sickness. So a person is first afflicted with the frozen body virus/bone chill. Causing patients to make a "living coccoon" or something. And datura is used to warm the tissues to make it working again. But datura itself causes a lot of problems like what is happening with mercyheart town.
So are dream puppets products of those afflicted with bone chill and continually administered with datura?
I dont mind spoilers 😂 i got the memory of a goldfish
Gotta ask something first. The lore is big.
By the time it comes out, i ll forget everything
Wdym jade secret?
I’m currently in Kaifeng so
That doesnt narrow down anything. XD
Theres a lot of topics under "lore" for what is happening. You can come here to ask for specific topics otherwise I'd suggest do a bit of in game reading yourself or watch some youtube videos about the lore.
The jade pendant
Jiang yulan gave YM after the bridge bzttle
Well so what happened in the hero festival
I d say yes, cause why didnt zheng E s sister turn into a zombie
She had wwm ebola too
Cant answer you Im there rn 😂
yeah you're not wrong w that, but the ending when he broke out of the debris, knowing he may not live long, he still risked everything to hand out the peach, making sure it can be passed down. From when he was young as the palm strike master, he "stood" because of his view about Chilvary (not for benefits or anything, he genuinely wanted to lend a hand and save people in need) -> his "fall" due to his love to his daughter, his wish of her safety and happiness, he discarded everything -> what makes him stood out is that he didn't change back to "Palm strike master" immediately after Lan Ao left, he eventually enlighten himself when he was struggling in the debris & wounded, after his daughter's death (enlightenment came with a price, the regret of not being able to save Lan Ao nor protect his dignity), but his view towards chilvary took a turn, in the end, he wanted to complete his daughter's will & the "greater good" the peach has been bearing (by passing it down to the painter)
hexi would be talking about the jade & why it was so valuable, so its highly recommended to complete the dark surge
Jade ? Is it the peach ?
Dude, Zheng Ruan died as a CHILD
Iirc correctly in mistveil the frozen blooms blooming there caused the bone chill affliction that everyone around suffer from. And then hollow vale is stationed there which I know, sleeping puppetd are connected to them idk how yet. Ah! It all makes sense now! I was so confused with dature, the frozen blooms, and sleeping puppets before.
The jade is the golden peach ?
The game doesn't spare NPCs of any age
You can see dream puppet as a disease & has different variations. Different ingredients can produce different strength of the poison, like datura & dawn to dusk flowers (kaifeng has a fair share of info about this)
Yes of course. I know he redeemed himself at the end. And that was a fantastic way to show it. Even tho it was too late for his daughter, he chose to carry the golden peach instead.
A good character will have its lows. For him when he got sucked in by the court. And a good end of his story too.
Maybe I should 100% kaifeng soon
PS Sage was hunted by Longwu soldiers/wanderers just like Fang Bai, so it’s assumed he was injured eventually and succumbed to them
Dream Puppets has 4 types we know so far:
- Sun BuQi & Aureate Pavilion's version (Ashen & Glorious Dream Puppets, glorious version are the ones that have tasted blood), made from Datura flowers, that can be seen in mistveil forest & gleaming abyss
- Dawn to Dusk version (originally harmless), left mad scientist Sun Bu Qi (again) that caused the poison mist in the forest, affecting sorrowfield villagers, Zheng E and Zhu Yu
- Frostbone, caused by the chaos where the commoners are suffering from hunger and cold, source unknown, but it's a physical representation of a poem verse 朱门酒肉臭,路有冻死骨 from Du Fu that means the commoners were suffering and died from hunger and cold, while the wealthy were enjoying their lives with wine and meat, which became rotten/spoilt due to the amount being overly excessive (that's why they yearn for warmth, since they died because of the cold, you see them in liangzhou)
- 冻死骨 (If i translate it literally, it's called dead frozen bone, I played qinchuan in cn so im not too sure about the en name, Lan Ao was infected by this, also called Hollow Vale), nothing much is known yet, but it shows similar symptoms with the 2nd & 3rd version, in the jianghu, it's called the Dream Puppets that can never die nor have its existence wiped. The aspects you saw in the notes is basically using poison to fight poison (which is not a solution for the long run)
Ooohhhh wait tasted blood made from datura?
did huaishen have the golden peach too, i think i missed the part that talks about that
last one to have it that i know of is yichao
dont know if he passed to his nefew
yes he did but he never got to open the box yichao gave him
yi chao did gave it to huaishen
oh yea, the box, curse my memory
i m still confused about way more things that i care to admit
they should just make lore into a written blog or something in their website
the chronological order messes with my head
Just remember CZX is the reason of our melon's current temperament
Chen Zixi
never heard that name
I happen to shorten Chinese names to initials sometimes
.........
Are you serious, do you even read the subtitles of the prologue?
He's literally in the opening cutscene of the game
Chen Zixi one of the first two characters in that prologue
How can you be so story dense?
Get out of this chat
damn hahaha dont crash out on me like that
talking that way with such a profile picture is funny to me
Did you even do all the quests and wandering tales?
like an angry cute little orange kitten
.........
be nice little one
Get out
NO !
Stop acting like you know the lore better
i m literally asking questions lil homie, it means i dont know... do you like have autism ?
just so i know how to treat you
Yi Dao comments how our melon is nothing like Han Xiangxun
Our character is known to be quite snarky and unserious when talking to NPCs
Dialogue choices go from being nice to outright rude
Chen Zixi is Jiang’s friend from the prologue yeah
Speaking from someone who directly follows CN text
Chen Zixi is Jiang Yan's longtime friend
the one who took the hit for him during void king fight
thank yyou, i asked if it was him n lil homie started flaming me XD
They've known each other since before their military days
does the lore talk more about him ? like a major key figure ?
At times, they often drink in secret and out of Wang Qing's sight who btw forbids drinking within the military
cause i can swear i never encountered his name, maybe like very very few times, too few to remember
he’s not highlighted much atm yeah
There's like only a few stuff about Chen Zixi in Uncle Jiang's profile, Nameless Blade Art and Twisted Destiny
when they dont have random autism attacks
I don't like your opinion
Btw the upcoming Encounter quests in Blissful Retreat tavern that aren't voiced will have Chen Zixi
you re up to date with CN contant ?
I just talked with some who are
i wanna know if they ll develop much into the main story
do we get closer to knowing the identity of YM n stuff
Datura created ashen dream puppets, glorious are those who tasted blood (fiercer version of ashen)
devs debunked that YM is just an orphan from the battlefield, clearly there are a lot more plotholes so to be announced, the story is flowing so it takes time
and how far is CN in terms of regions
An orphan FOUND in the battlefield, there's no given explanation to why they're here or why they have the jade.
Qingzhou just dropped for them a few weeks ago
i m just worried the game might die before they finish the story
Hey just want to ask if veiled lady our actual sister? If harmonizer are supposed to be a rare type of ppl then two babies that happen to have that type of ability lying in the battlefield is bit sus
I can only say that, global is very much fortunate than CN with smoother story flow & more rapid releases, so yep
"The other sibling" in terms of fate but we dun have clues if we're blood related
It will not die. At least not the CN version. But Free to play, blantantly predatory micro transaction games generally don't do well internationally. This game is exactly that.
it's safer so assume that we are not blood related, the chances are there but slim, mot of them are still speculations so feel free to imagine (we can know more stuff when the story about zhongdu bridge war is out)
i mean, i dont undertand the transaction hate, just dont buy stuff
its not a valid reason to kill a game
It's massive in CN but heavily alienated in Global because of how often they filtered weirdos
You do realize that the energy system, the lack of content and long wait. All this are a part of the business model. To frustrate people to spend more right?
The CN sever have already the Zhongdu bridge out. Wouldn’t they already have the answer or at least a clue
really ? maybe cause i dont play THAT much anymore, i m always full on energy and got too much contant to go through
Too vague to assume
[insert swear words]
that's because the region isn't completed yet, so there's not enough proof
The Campaign has a bunch of big lore drops and even bigger mysteries yet unraveled til MUCH later
||Remember, in this house we will always hate and slander Du Chongwei||
By the way, what is the original form of the golden peach? Like I know it’s will end up as two jade disc in the future but even one of the longyu guard at the beginning area of qinchun said it doesn’t even look like a golden peach.
Even though it's not clearly stated, but from what we know, Lady Gongsun took a real "Gold Peach" (it's marked in quotation marks for a reason) and passed it to guoxin, so I think you pretty much have the answer, the gold peach is just a name, plus the jade (most probably) already broke into 2 (or 3) back in liangzhou, from this song: #📖lore-chat message
Really? That sounds more like you don't play the game at all. Most people ran out of energy in less than an hour.
quick sweep energy to 0 in 30 seconds
I still find it weird they couldn’t call it jade peach. It’s not even made out of gold
The origins came from myths/rumours, that LiLongJi (creator of the Masked Troupe sect), was offered a treasure that was recorded as the Gold Peach, yet rumors started to spread regarding the item, so Lady Gongsun (second leader of masked troupe) took a "Gold Peach" and gave it to Guo Xin. The word "Gold Peach" is already quotation marked here, no one knows if the original gold peach is real or not, but this "Gold Peach" is real, people wouldn't care the truth, they just know it's powerful & because of its mysterious nature, everyone would want to have a taste or get to know it. Which is why it had always been a piece of jade from the start.
i dont use it after i got all my legendary gear n the skiils i use to tier 6
i save my pills for new drops, so whenever new gear drops, i got like 12/15 pills
I don't see you play the game if that is your take on it. I have 2 accounts with Lendary gear tier 6. So I don't know why you think your argument make sense.
ehh, i don’t think this game is blatantly predatory, maybe if you find yourself always wanting only the shiniest new thing
You have a serious lack of selfawareness. Your responds were argumentative in nature.
but the game doesnt really force you to pay into microtransactions like most other f2p games
this is argumentative ?
at least it's not very p2w in terms of fighting and stuff mostly the cosmetics
Or intellectually dishonest? Take a pick?
yeah, exactly
you re more sensitive than a clitoris bro
Sure.
but cosmetics are susceptible to people’s preference
sometimes people just say words, like a conversation
Of course you do.
not everything has malice behind, and not everyone wants to argue, sometimes they just share
that plus the game's story prob won't make me leave anytime soon too ngl it's well written
it’s not like other gacha games where you’re soft-forced to pay to keep up with meta and achieve same level of gameplay
I am so convinced.
i'm having flashbacks about those games now that you mention it just spend this tiny amount to become vip lvl1! and you slowly spiral
as long as its not a pay to upgrade stats
n get an edge in pvp
you cant say anything about it
for now the p2w of pvp is having good internet and ping
/hj
ah yeah those games, I’ve gone through too many of them
lol true, and on top paying for gfn
the only edge u get from the game by paying is the battle pass
cause it gives u some pills for energy
pvp gfn tax payer
They don't have to do the traditional way. They just have to frustrate you in other "non stats" form or features of the game. How do you think they make money? Give you something free out of charity?
its not a crime for a game to make money
plus quick shop, and some pulls or harmonic core if you're very very lucky
yeah ppl gotta eat and employees to pay
please explain how they frustrate you XD
Did not say it is a crime. But it is sure disgusting if you understand what they are doing.
can i say the same about nike, they frustrate me by making sick shoes for 2000$
or an expensive house, they make it soo nice, they wanna force me to buy it
in the end spending or not is totally up to the players, there are still players who remained true to themselves and don't spend a single bit XD
XD brother c mon
For one, the are too little contents in the game. I can finish each new content in less than 3hrs.
Then we wait for 2 months or so
now i know for certain you’re not doing all the content
i mean most gacha games also follow same cycle, no?
but 3hours all gold for the region?
In the mean time, you can only play stupid party games or pvp.
if you think doing mainstory and new dungeons are all the content there is
look, lets not run around aimlessly, bad practice, is money = pvp edge, thats it
then thats literally not finishing all the content, its doing what you’re interested in
And of course the energy system
skins, and stuff, they make em, they can sell em the way they want, idc if its a million dollars for hair
dont buy it, you are not forced
thats how it works in literally everything in life
have you never played gacha/cn games?
this isn’t new
hasn’t been in many years
yeah kuro games hoyoverse they all follow similar cycles
I have, so this will be the last one. I generally dislike this kind of dumb business model.
besides, there is arena, forest, n other forms of contant online
i mean good for you you know what you dislike
people bene playing league of legends for almost 2 decades
^
Dumb not because the business model is dumb. But the consumers are dumb.
barely changed anything XD
its not for everyone
This kind of business model is the fastest and best way of raking and harvesting simpled people.
a nike shoe costs 35$ to make, they sell it for 2 grands, i dont see people crying about that
I think you need to chill with this holier than thou attitude
you have your personal preferences
others have their own
buisness is buisness, as long as you re not forced into it, u cant criticize it
criticize capitalism instead
Well, look at the mirror. Maybe you will see something interesting.
respect others for having a difference in opinion
that is not the clocked the tea you think it is son
you re broke, and that pisses you off, hating on this makes you feel better about yourself, enjoy your delusion
its obvious lil homie
what happen to respecting other's opinion.🤣
i would ve respected you if u were criticizing capitalism in general, thats an intelectual take
yours is just a cry broke baby take
sure
wow, nice come back
you didnt respect mine earlier, i m not going to respect yours, you get what u give
treat people with respect, you ll get the same
Thanks for the lesson about respecting other's opinion, I sure learn alot from you.
i can also teach you how to make a resume n apply for a job
sure you can\
remove https part gng
you cant send links here ?
You didn't know?
oh well, i wanted to help but guess i cant, sorry bro
only in certain chats mhm
aight, lets stop this, its stupid
Now than you figured it out.
we both crashed out
What take you so long
ahahahaha, yeah
Why not stop fighting, mute or block, and touch some grass in Qinchuan Path instead?
we all need grass indeed
Close enough
what is this beautiful place next to hexi
lol
Thank you for your help so I can continue progressing in the game
#🌱beginner-questions can help
Boy, i don’t know what’s going on in this game
Every quest just assumes that i know all of the characters, is that normal?
the game doesnt explictly tell you what things are happening and this story is set in a high context culture so you kinda have to piece things your own but it def is not smth easy
oh did u skip some quests? or is there an instance u remember?
No i rarely skip quests unless i’m on an alt
But if i had to pick an example, i would say the hexi quest where you play as the man with the pipa, i get the undertone that he feels like he isn’t from Chang’an and that he has impostor syndrome but idk if he was actually an impostor or just realllly young and forgot all about his homeland
And the immortal girl, was she just not real the entire time?
Because pipa boy was interacting with her in his dreams and irl but then i got confused
My confusion might also be attributed to playing the quest at 5am
TLDR that whole scene from what i understood was him trying to come into terms about his origin and what truly is home from him and part of this is due to his father. his father was originally from chang an but remarried to anothet women who is not from Tang. His father promised him to go back to Changan when he was young however when he remarried he no longer decided to go back again. Feeling betrayed and no sense of home, Liang Daozi clinged onto Changan and claims he is from Changan. But his dilemma starts because he knows nothing much about Changan except from the tales his father told him.
You can see this confusion and dilemma of his during some scenes where he stutters and does not want to play the melody of Changan.
the immortal girl at the last scene reveal seems to represent that quiet hopeful part of him that still longs home and that initial joy or that is what i intrepreted
Yeah i remember declining a lot of requests to play songs
mhm he wants to go back to Changan along the way he forgot what home was like and hence he forgot how to play and his refusal. At the near end he played it again signalling he is finding the home he lost before
btw these are the conclusion I got from the quest because even for me it is still a bit mystical in a sense
Okay that makes sense, can you give me a TLDR of the death of the governor quest?
Was the Governor the married guy who kept calling the people out that assassinated the purple robed guy? Or was the governor the purple robed guy that got assassinated?
I didn’t get the chance to do everyone’s story so i missed out on some lore but from my understanding
Assassin guy - Kinda looks like the giga chads friend, had to kill the governor for an antidote
Wife - wanted to kill governor because she wanted the power that he left behind
Eunuch - was paranoid af and killed purple robed guy
Chad - wanted to kill Eunuch(?) and imagined his old friends were there
governor guy is the one you see at the last moment of the quest when you finish the boss fight that is him. his name is Zhang Huaishen. he is the young nephew of Zhang Yichao. and after he is passed down the authority from his uncle, he protected the region of Liangzhou.
The governor quest essentially tells you what exactly went down at the night he was assassinated.
Yeah that seemed like one helluva night
The Assassin guy is someone sent from another noble to assassin him correct,
The Wife is actually a distant family of Zhang Huaishen i forgot the relation and she colluded with Huaishen trusted friend the one you see her talking with to in a way end Huaishen's life because of Huaishen's capabilities he has become an eyesore , and many think because of him others cannot shine.
Eunuch was actually a delegate from Changan to read out the imperial edict. The Chad actually wants to make use to the Eunuch to turn the tides to his favor and get rid of Eunuch as a scapegoat
At the end you see three people walking towards Huaishen's study, Eunuch, Assassin and another person which I cant seem to recall. The story seems to hint that all of them actually caused the fall of Huaishen whether either by imperial order or being assassinated. The final boss of the quest reflected that as you can see three heads morph into a single being.
I tried my best to explain but apologies if I get some wrong my brain at 2am is struggling a bit
No you’re doing a great job
You’re opening up my brain to understand the lore
You’re literally my Vaati Vidya
oh my XD glad i could help you in any way
The assassin is represent the foreign forces. He was sent by the big birds.
oh yeah forgot to add that thx mate
It was eunuch, assassin (aynur d big bro) and his right hand man (childhood friend)
Given the timestamp is 890 and his appearance by the year he was dead, Zhang Huaishen became more rugged and weak after the betrayal ||while being presumably poisoned from the wine he drank||
Oh the assassin was Aynur’s brother?
That makes sense since he was surprised when monk mentioned something about following a girl w/ special eyes or something
And unless i saw it wrong, Aynur had like heterochromia i think
Anyur's brother is the assassin right
The nobles gave him that mission bc he believed his sister was still alive(?)
He didnt know she was, he had no purpose anymore until he realized aynur was alive, right before he realized that he said that being dead or alive was the same, but the moment he knew she was alive still he became set on getting the cure
I'm trying to find a lore video on Qianye and I just can't. Can someone point me to a video or explain to me why she is a villain?
Check out Wwmgirl's videos
thanks, i will
Basically she and her family were enslaving people and one of the people was aunt han and her brother, aunt han escaped but her brother couldn’t
Its not confirmed that thats Quanye tho
Her first encounter and the boss fight kinda forshadow it but its still only a theory for now
Qianye*
im confused what the heixi storyline is? why is it here who is this old guy does it start to make sense at some point
thank you and thank you too @deep lion
If playing a health buff role, which martial skills and equipment should you use, guys?
wrong chat but if what you mean by “health buff” is healer, then use pancea fan + soulshade umbrella
if you mean tank, use the two martial arts of stonesplit might path. iirc one of them is thundercry spear
hexi storyline follows a chain of individual stories that are connected by the theme of “home”. we are living through other people’s lives and in the end we find out more about ourselves and try to continue moving forward following the destruction of blissful retreat.
underneath the surface, there is an object called the golden peach, that passes through the hands of major characters of the hexi storyline. you find out more as you get to the end of hexi (as well as through the dark surge).
there are many plot points that are easily missed so i recommend watching goose girl (formerly wwm girl)’s videos on the quests. it will help you piece together the story
ohh ok that makes sense thank you!
#🌱beginner-questions or #🧐pve-build-discussion are the spaces for that. You're in the lore channel, for talking about story.
Yeah, the assassin originally already gave up his hope until the monk mentioned about a girl with heterochromia that rekindled his hope that his sister is alive. While the wife is actually Huaishen's sister (YiChao's daughter), who married Suo Jing (I'm not sure who do you mean by chad, I assume you're talking about Suo Jing), Suo Jing was Huaishen's close childhood friend and he's the most complicated person out of all
Nothing much is known about her origins, except for the fact that she's working for aureate pavilion (LiZuo), most of the theories we have are only speculations since we don't have enough proof, which also explains why you don't see that much videos about her
Suos were a powerful family that were connected by marriage to the Zhangs right
Yep you can say that, not to say Suo Jing is incapable (he was actually trusted by Huaishen a lot as huaishen's close right-hand man), but under Huaishen whose ability was widely recognized & seen, Huaishen practically outshone everyone else while Suo Jing was living under the shadows of huaishen which complicates this guy even more
Is the an liuli quest the mc having an awakening?
MC is watching their stories, while trying to find a way to face their own ptsd of losing their home
The way they shaped this guy to be open ended says a lot as they leave it to the players, whether if we want to bet on his good or bad side. Both possibilities are there, since that day is Huaishen's endgame regardless of Suo Jing's interference (plus he's also suspected to have been plotting behind, yet we never know). After the whole ordeal, he tried fighting against the zhangs, wanting to preserve huaishen's name when huaiding was destroying those evidence (for some reason)...
But there was a whole mechanic during the five bane boss fight where he attack you in one of the golden attack despite helping you out.
There is like even an achievement of it if you managed to dodge it.
To me, it’s basically the game shouting he was the culprit or if not one of them
Wait he really try to preserve his name? I thought he was one who try to get rid of it
yeah, there are hints at fallen liangzhou, huaiding was the one who killed those soldiers who wanted to revenge for huaishen, while Suo Jing was the one going against huaiding (like in 1 wandering tale, there are some old papers/letters preserved, it was suo jing behind)
Huh then do you think that even he have a hand in his friend’s death, he still unwilling to ease his existence cuz for huaiding, I can understand as he being jealous for not given the leadership of his own father’s army despite being his son but for suo jing, there is a close bond
After taking down young emperor ai the later Liang was formed. The founder forced li zuo to leave throne then killed him(irl)/let him live(wwm)
Liang fell to later Tang, and later tang was attacked by khitans, followed by rise of Jin dynasty who operated with khitans(Liao dynasty).
But liao attacked jin when they started not paying tributaries.
Then song X jin took liao khitans down? (Im confused on this part)
The han rose in the power vacuum of neither jin nor liao...
Han got overthrown by Zhou
Big zhao seized throne from Zhou and established Song cuz apparently there was child emperor and China was in risk of foreign invasion (?)
Is that the lore of 5 dynasty and 10 kingdom?
What was the time around aureate pavilion almost befriended khitans... where tian ying and blind lady spilled water on the plan?
And zhongdu bridge battle was when khitans attacked later jin?
Lastly uncle jiang left for jiangnan after song establishment right?
Huaiding & suojing are two different cases. For Huaiding it's not only that he's young, but YiChao already saw through and understood the difference between Huaiding (craving for power) & Huaishen (whose goals are aligned with his uncle), Huaishen also treated & took care of Huaiding like his own little brother before YiChao entered Chang'an, these two were also close. For Suo Jing, he has always been in the grey area, that he could step on any sides whenever he wanted to. He was dragging on & not giving his wife an answer, and also threatened his wife before for Huaishen (from the antiques), but at the same time, he was the one taking care of Huaishen's meals all this time, and Huaishen was bedridden not only bc of the injuries of the assassination, but poison, which makes suo jing a huge suspect. His thoughts had been wavering back an forth unlike the others (Huaiyue, Huaiding, Eunuch, Assassin etc). To me, I would rather bet on his "evil" side, but you could also argue that he did all of this because he knew there's no way to save Huaishen, so might as well join in to pull him out of misery. Then regarding his acts of trying to preserve Huaishen's name, one can argue that it's either because of how he was consumed by guilt (from the way Huaishen decided to trust him one last time for the Gold Peach), or that it's truthful that he wanted to do anything within his power for his friend
GUYS,the Imperial palace Is coming!
I'll recommend you to watch this video from WWM Girl, it's a bit complicated: https: //youtu.be/eYXLehSbDu4?si=6kTjqJjdNjrtA31T. Regarding Big Zhao's ascension, not to say he seized the throne, but rather it was Chai Rong who already planned to pass it to him (since Chai Rong's son was only 7), for this, you can search up chenqiao munity. A very brief flow about 5D10K: Late Liang 907-923 (Zhu Wen, after ursurping the throne from LiZuo) -> Late Tang 923-936 (Li Ke Yong, who had been rivals with Zhu Wen as you saw in game) -> Late Jin 936-947 (Shi JingTang, giving away the Yanyun 16 prefectures to Khitan in 936) -> Late Han 947-950 (After the zhongdu bridge war, central plains were a huge mess where ppl from the central plains attempted to resist the Khitans, LiuZhiYuan found a chance and entered kaifeng successfully since the khitans were retreating, but zhou overthrew them) -> Late Zhou 951-959 (Chai Rong passed in 959 due to illness, chenqiao munity happened in 960)
Tbh the part on he trying to put huaishen out of his misery depend if he not the one who put posion in his food. Have it been clear on that matter as I alway under in the impression that he was the one who did it
I AM GOING TO SLAP EVERY MINSTERS I GOING TO SEE. SCREW THE GOVT…Sorry big Zhao
Slap battles Is the best thing in this update by far hands down😭
aureate pavilion was established during 943 (from the game), LiZuo was already planning something with the khitans before the war (946), while Southern Tang had been maintaining a diplomatic relationship with the khitans for 20+ years. Their relationship (Tang & Khitan) was severed because of the Breeze Post Incident that happened in 959 (by Tian Ying).
Mhm, they didn't make it clear, so it's vague just like how Huaishen's death was a mystery, no records of the murderer, wwm is portraying the possibilities
I understood nothing😁👍🏿
Im too smart
even though his death and exact cause of unknown it is still a bit consolation that we were at least be able to perform a touching funeral for him along with his master
They did like more than three possible ways he died to screw with them: slowly die from poison, assassination or execution etc
Gotcha. The southern tang is the same that came after liang?
Alright then, on to the video
Southern Tang was established in 937, roughly the same time as Late Jin
how can i do "the unspeakable victory" achievement if the bosses are not resting in my game?
I like this chat
I’m genuinely learning a lot
I just finished the quest with An Liuli and Guinyin and although i was a little confused about what was going on i thought it was nice
Now i’m finally in the 3rd area of Hexi
And i’m again a little confused
paper moon :3 sweet at first heartwrecking at the end
Is there like a bounty on our MCs head? Alot of the enemies mention wanting to fight the wanderer
And i fought some emo looking guy with a Mo Blade
I haven’t progressed too far after that as it was 3am and i was tired
But i am excited to play the story there
On a side note i think i broke the opening cutscene because i accidentally teleported there before i finished Liangzhou and met a guy who gave me a map and mistook me for his penpal
it's because of the golden peach and they think wanderer is the one who is carrying it towards to Qinchuan.
nope it's as how it should be
the name can be misleading but it isn't exactly a peach
Does it grant like immorality or something?
Oh the one we own when we name our MC?
yes
though I wonder if Uncle Jiang would also be affected by the golden peach/jade
Wasn’t that one stolen by the guy who looked like uncle jiang?
It’s been like 6 months since i saw that cutscene
no, we were some random baby that carried it
uncle jiang just took us
and everyone looks for the jade
Ohh okay
that is uncle jiang
yes but he didnt steal it he was just picking us up
though i wonder why both YM and baichuyuu have that
she meant the opening scene i think
no idea
ahh
there were allegedly 2 or 3 jades combined into golden peach
each has their own story in hexi
no
who ym is still a mystery
there are 3 popular theories for now
hexi is already the previous era, and theres a long time skip until we arrived to the uncle jiang opening cutscene
first ym is related to wang qing, 2nd li zuo, 3rd ym is just truly a random baby
so what happened was that hexi, liangzhou, qinchuan is during the tang era and at the last region tang is already at its fall
Oh okay
thats the story of guo xin who is the general holding the last castle of the tang era
at jade gate pass
if you completed the hexi surge you will get a cutscene of how the golden peach is given to multiple people zhang yichao -> huaishen .... until it ended up to the bet between li zuo and wangqing
And since we entered Hexi through the painting in Qinghe we were able to visit the past
correct
yes i think
What a chad
the old general with yellow armor at the whitecrown fortress campaign quest yes
that and also when the tang fall not a lot of people can make it on the outer regions to announce new dynasty
so they keep holding the castle
hence the fortress did not know that and still fighting for the already fallen dynasty
when burlap sack shows the coins the coins was printed "15th year of Dali" to which does not exists due to the place not updated on the situation
Ohhh
That makes sense
They had lost contact but held their duty still
indeed
i like the first hexi region story most out of the 3
problem is that they tried experimenting a lot so hexi story gameplay wasnt the best
burlap sack story is quite relatable he is not extraordinary but yet he persist because of a promise he made to the old friend. hence the seeds getting carried as they should
yea and they made that the tale of how china got cotton
liangzhou story is cool but started getting ruined by being a walking simulator
yeah some ppl say the burlap sack quest plus the governor quest had too much walking and boring gameplay. for me i am just reading it like crazy so i didn't have much time to even get bored except that i can't sprint in the quest
burlap sack is ok, i think a lot of westerners dont understand much context about the story so its hard to engage
Yeah gameplay was a lot to be desired but all of the lore of all of these otherwise normal people really keeps you interested
death of the governor is the worst for me
Like idk about yall but i enjoy playing as people with no plot armor
i do too
Especially if they make a large impact still
Yeah
I agree, i was hyping myself to tackle the Governor quest because people said it took a long time to complete
Uh for the most part i have been playing on 3x speed to speed up the quests so that i can catch up
Luckily i can read fast
ahh
fair
the story is interesting and tragic but pass a certain point u dont really feel engaged anymore due to dragged out gameplay
But i was still confused as WWM has the habit of assuming that i am familiar with all of these characters they introduce me to. Hence why i ask so many questions
its ok lmao i was clueless too until i search them up
Even if i sit down and play the story without speed ups/skipping i end up confused
I think it just may be like due to translation errors or something
Idk
there's a lot of part that i feel like they machine translated
so yes sometimes its lost in translation
we need more investment on the translation team ngl
experienced human translator who also knows the context of the story
Yeah i think once they get to solid stopping point in the game they should go back and focus on translation
I know they rushing to catch us up to CN and i respect it
But a lot of people, myself included are confused lol
all of it is machine translate.
english may polish a bit
but other localization's quality is just unacceptable.
yeah according to brave just taking the cn name literally and just saying 3 layers of mud is unacceptable
Tbh it’s was made for the Chinese audience before coming here. Hell I even hear they did not expect the amt of success with global
I know damn well they can afford a good translator with the amt of money that the whales are throwing at them. I still can’t understand why they decide to rely on machine translation
yeah it will be very foreign and hard to understand for most global audience esp the concept of jianghu, wuxia, court vs the jianghu separation and entanglement plus subtle cultural stuff you don't get unless you have the language literarcy to search it up or have grew up in said culture itself or indulge yourself in adjacent medias
Just passed by the Sunken City lake part of Qinchuan, whats with the person singing around it? Thats all that plays no music whatsoever

Grand morning
And sometimes it’s like this
That was a moment where doing the NMW sect quest. The fake will of heaven dude started speaking in Chinese which weirdly fit
Uh it was in hexi mist forest quest
I was talking another moment where something similar happen to me though I never run into this promble when I did the quest
Maybe it’s was fixed
Ah sorry i misunderstood what u said
Nah it fine
I had so many untranslated parts in sunken city lake quest and also at the scene where we found ||our painter friend’s body||
There are some localization issues
Wait really?! cuz it’s was English throughout for me
They seem to be random, I didn't have any problems there
yeah same for me too
Also it happened in very important moments like these as well
Wait when did you play the quest? Cuz I start it and finish it yesterday, maybe they did fix it or there is some weird bug going on
I played everything in two days after they came out haha
Might be that cuz it was English throughout the whole thing
Still no quality control despite how much the whales spend
Me too, so maybe it's more like a glitch, than lack of proper translations
Yeah but i don’t really wanna complain much tho. Stuff like this happens all the time. The game is more than good enough. And it’s not like everyone is having the issue so yeah no big deal. Just inconvenient at some point.
Ya but you can’t be complacent in it. Like we as a players must always except the best out of a game especially when there are people spending more than 20k for a boat
Yeah i sent feedbacks too. But still i can’t go around shtting on the game imo.
Tho itd be the best if it doesn’t happen again of course

Ah true true, there are still good things from this game.
Well, we strayed from lore with this discusion
At this point, it more wrong to see this lore channel to not talk about other thing then lore
man Big Zhao really let himself go after ascension
the palace life must've been too comfortable
Big Zhao became happy and unbothered
Sorry about that
Digressions happen
And it does affect your ability to like...enjoy the story.
We can Nine Mortal Ways this.
People still believe that we can get in harmonic core in nine mortal ways ??
How’s everyone
yeah but its a fake one XD
@scenic obsidian @iron canyon @crimson birch @celest flume and others.
Guy do you think wwm lore delivery is good.
I just discovered concept of good vs bad delivery of lore
no
their lore delivery feels off
like a cheap mobile game
but i enjoy the lore
Oh thanks for opinion
I think it is good but only to those who have back ground in Chinese history, culture and those who grew up in it
For foreign audience esp those who do not know the concept of Jianghu, Wuxia, it falls flat.
Mainly due to the story assuming some pre knowlege, inference, show dont tell, and piece yourself together style
I am not sure about a lot of western games but I feel like Westetn Audience is more used to getting info fed instead of having to piece things very carefully
Ofc WWM lore delivery is not always the best and the execution can fall flat sometimes aka burlap sack, governor for notable examples
However they do not play around with lore and takes accurate yet their own wwm twist on historical facts so I do think it will become slowly better
Going into hexi on the boat will have western audience going oh there're nice flags"
Chinese audience go "those are poems I've read them before in my childhood"
It just hits different and unfortunately it's just a culture difference which isn't really translatable
I personally like piecing things together and visual metaphor/symbolism, as opposed to the usual tacit assumption that we can't tread water deeper than three inches.
Yup I especially notice this difference because I have no knowledge of them and for those who grew up with it it will invoke a different sense of feelings
Thanks you for telling
I think it might help if text were translated though, so an overseas audience has the context that these are poems. Some, like me, might look them up if they could read them.
Yeah and it kind of have a domino effect. Chinese have more contextual clues like "oh those are Li Bai poems" and before u go into the well the girl was reciting a Li Bai poem, and Li Bai was a Tang dynasty poet. There's a fair bit of background info that gives clues but those can't just be translated into English
Ngl im not sure if you know but in anime sometimes there are translator notes and also from another netease game dream and lethe records they have what they call foot notes I feel like implementing those could help a bit
There's a curious trend of skipping text in localization lately, not just WWM, that can leech out context or potential understanding. For example, on dubs, Crunchyroll will not provide translations of onscreen letters or notes... But if you select subtitles they do.
I personally want to read
Like if I didn't know what's going on, I'd be on the boat thinking oh wow the golden buildings are nice. But they're getting destroyed what's happening
huh strange
So.. Western audience need to do a bit of homework to understand the lore. Luckily there's quite a few good YouTuber that describe the stuff quite well
I absolutely love footnotes and translator notes, I will eat those right up anytime they're available to me.
Delicious context and insight
fr i love reading those esp cause they sometimes do shift the vibe and how grave something is insantly
Yea I read all the stuff. Even each teleport stone has descriptions. Really cool. The Chinese characters on each teleport stone writes the name of the place as well
Wow nice. I never noticed that. If not mistaken that type of stone there is in real life. Is there name for that
Right? There's also why the translator made a decision, and I appreciate the art of reaching equivalency in the target language. How they give us the same meaning is super interesting, since verbatim translation doesn't always carry the right meaning over.
Eh not really. Kinda maybe. Usually village or towns have a stone sign that reads the name of the town. But that's not different from western towns
Oh. Probably i just seeing wwm prop hahaha
hence i do feel like wwm localization can actually have more potential than what we have rn TT
Ya a lot of puns don't get translated. Like there's this npc in kaifeng stuck on the roof and can't get down, another that's on the ground and can't get up
The name xia bulai in Chinese phonetically sounds the same as "can't get down"
I'm still keeping a signpost alive that translates this pun for western players
If they had a dedicated localisation team they probably could have made it better. Like name him Khan Decend or something
Bless you, I sure do read signposts for things like this since they pop up every so often and darn those are fun details.
Gosh that reminds me of Granblue (Cygames has in-house localization) changing Shirou to Nick and I will forever embrace that because it's in the service of another character calling him Mecha-Nick and it's an immaculate pun for his character specifically. I'd be happy to see the same in WWM where appropriate.
Sometimes wordplay is meaningful and specific and it works.
Dude wheres general
which general
I submitted a suggestion for a general chat channel recently and I hope they implement it because it's both a curious omission and the reason lore channel catches so many newbies treating it like genchat.
Assuming you meant that and not a general. If you meant the latter, don't mind me
Nah we had 1 before they removed it it was weird we had off topic and a general, off topic was 30 seconds cool down, general was 1 min and mobile chat was 15 secs cool down
Oh, I see.
Wasn’t there a fearful guy named courage in qinchuan at the lion burrow? Or is my Chinese failing me
I thought they change the name to martial pavilion
Ugh, I was too busy to finish the game as the lore updated but damn, Hexi ending sure went hard and I missed the best time to talk about it
I aspire to one day be someone worthy of having a banger entrance theme like Fangbai... And damn, I hated how over the top dramatic the desert region stories were about how hard people had it at the time, but by the end of Hexi everything tied up together so nicely, and the ending song really hits different.
Tbh they rlly have it hard, like imagine living one moment when you are promised peace and prosperity then the next moment it come crumbling down and plus you live in a desert which is never a good place to live unless you can constantly get water and food but unfortunately the god damn country is in a civil war to care about ppl like you. And the best part is just get worse from here
Well yea, but the way they went to make the MC start feeling melodramatic about all the stories in the desert just felt way too forced with "ARE YOU CRYING YET?!"
thankfully they toned it down with Liangzhou.... But then Liangzhou upped the boring walking simulator side of the storytelling tenfold
the region is very desert and the dynasty is falling gng people will have it hard
Qinchuan is a perfect tying up of the story and really elevated the region as a whole though
Maybe it didn't hit well for you but the desert is basically people waiting to connect back with their homeland which is already difficult because of the distance and hard to reach communication plus they can't go back exactly
mhm it also signals the final fall of tang dynasty
Yeah, the part of the water I forgot the quest name but them keep digging for water source and never giving up
just for the sole sake of even if we can't find water we will continue on for the future generations in hopes of one day they will be able to find water
really hits hard ngl
It hit hard for me, all the way up to the end, and I was crying by the end but it overflowed when the MC joined in and began shouting "WE'RE GOING HOME" and it brought me out of the story
and that was how I felt about every desert story
Wellspring of hope was peak story
I will agree to disagree on that statement as you are watching a man who is trying his hardest just to fulfill a promise from his dead friend. It was not too hard to feel but melodramatic.
Although I am okay with the walking simulator but I can see how this is boring to others as ppl except this to be a action rpg
I was super touched and felt "THIS HITS HARD" and then they tried to tie it up and it got too much
Yeah look at his next generation in mainland instead digging water they doing tiktok dance
The best part is that til now ppl still rely on those wells to survive in the desert so it was never a waste to begin with
yeah walking simulator i feel like is their way of trying to show how grueling it is to walk the desert which i felt fit but i guess some don't like it which is valid
To me it's like a dish that depends on people's preference. Yes, it requires a lot of cultural & history background but the satisfaction once you thread everything up is just incomparable, even cn people struggled to understand the stories but there are a fair share of content creators that help them organize everything. It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea but once you find your interest you're very much immersed
Like, if after you find the two men who finally struck water, the MC didn't have this hallucination of memories rushing past as they're walking out, with apparitions of people walking toward the water source to sacrifice their lives to dig just a bit deeper...
And the MC just walked out of that well, against the flow of water, to the outside world, it would've ended perfectly
I feel it more fitting toward that slow and melancholy tone they were going for. It’s a stories of ppl trying to survive in a world that is collapsing around them
they did walked out of that well tho? it ended perfectly according to your words(?)
but the ghost apparitions walking by the MC exiting the well, the grand flow of souls, the MC leading their wishes out, that destroyed the somber feels I was having
But seriously tho, everytime u saw video record by cn ppl, its always end like all of its are stage.
Even for animal saving video, they adopt dog getting rain on the street but its feel stage
huh i see
This. I was so fed up with burlap sack story, all the walking and stuff. Until we reached the cave and we get to talk to everyone who were surviving by digging and digging for water every day. And then the chang-an theme hit. I locked in so hard since then until all the hexi was over. Imo hexi update was really smth.
Yea, but I mean like they walked out with too many special effects
the game one of main selling point is also the visuals so I guess that double down on that but if it feels too much for you valid though
staged?
Yeah mb
I think they mean scripted
the bandits are all around, the desert is harsh to survive, and even the anxi army people saw as hope is no where to be found yeah... hard times...
Oh yea, that's it, it felt like I was watching a heartfelt story and then suddenly bam I am seeing the scripted stuff with the special effects and the "Look at this piece going into the Chinese national musem!"
Like its their own dog but, they let the dog getting wet just for content
Okay that part I will disagree with you cuz it’s basically the Mc telling them they are ready to go home. From what I hear from goose girl, ppl alway use the lamp to dig straightforward and so if the lamp is carry I think backward, it’s mean it time to go home
hmm i think this is diffirent cultural stuff issue I am from the Asian hemisphere and it feels natural for me
I think it was there for the impact but fair enough some people might not like it much
there are scripted parts in social media in the east but I mean western social media is scripted and staged too you know
Yes, I know the cultural context, I'm saying the impact was too much, they tried to hard at the beginning
But Liangzhou did it much better, like with the Liangzhou melody
Same here, more so where I come from a country where ppl of different nationalities come here to make a living. It’s not hard to wish to come back home. My mom is from china and I know it’s right for her to return back home one day as it is where she from
So I never believe if there a video but record in cn and by cn ppl, cz i know it must be scripted
It's an trial an error process for the devs too and they know no matter how they do it, there will be critisms, if they tone down the effects some people may argue that the souls aren't visible enough or smth else etc
yeah that homesickness hits so hard esp when you want to go back home but you wonder where even is home...
Hoenstly Liangzhou Melody hit pretty hard too... and I'm pretty sure it's one of those stories that hit harder Global than it did for CN players
I say that it is just preference talking atp cuz some prefer other stories over Liangzhou melody.
huh why do you think that? i wouldn't say all videos are not scripted but there are raw moments too? what is with the fixation with cn ppl and social media trend in general and the bias you are having
yeah stuff like this do exist in global as well so it's not necessarily only cn
tbh it hit harder for cn people living outside of mainland and those who have chinese ancestry and wants to connect with it but is struggling over it for e.g. like me
Cz that all like that on my yt feed even i dont want watch it
have you ever watched douyin/xhs? the actual cn social media?
yt reuploads are cherry picked cn videos you know that right?
mainland chinese ppl rarely use yt, they will mostly use bilibili
Im not live china so I don't have that app
Yea, pretty much how I feel too. Leaving China at a young age and never going home because who knows if you'll even like it anymore there, but you still want to reconnect
i think it fit more toward the immigrant feeling of not knowing where they belong to. I think its more relateable toward he american audience since there are already flims that deal with this
you can open those app with foreign number if you really do want to get rid of your bias...
U can use xiao hongshu
and... Finding others, people who were not born in China like you, who want to visit it with you, having friends with different walks of life wanting to explore that part of the world, some of whom are resistant...
even though the stories are set in cn, the main theme is something that everyone could relate, despair from long lost lands, war, homesickness, all of these are common emotions that could stir up no matter where the story is set🥹 which is why despite the cultural, historical and language barriers, it works well in global
you can download the app, quite simple to download though i suggest you got to yt to learn as i forgot how to
yeah I recommended actually diving into the social media apps which are open now to foreign audience to sign up to actually know what the trend is like instead of relying on western media esp from na where there is a lot of sinophobia already
i actually never rely on needing a forgien number tbh
ah thats good xD i don't have a mainland cn number so i had to make use of my own foreign phone number
is ist rlly true, i thought it just fox news
rednote is now open to global so you could download it from your playstore
Can't wait for when we get to see the pivotal war scene that kicked off the entire story, and how brave men and women sacrificed their lives to defend the line and ripping our hearts apart with them feels
Worst thing about hexi is that every character are so self driven and characterized well that we cant help but fall in love with them and then in the end we realize that we can’t even save them. I think they showed what it feels like to be powerless in hexi storyline. That every slow walk was worth it in the end.
idk cuz i remeber trying to help someone from instgram download taobao but its need her passport which i have never come across.
sinophobia in NA region? unfortunately it's true asian hate is still a thing over there
It's ok, everyone is doomed, we can't save anyone, not even our Big Bro Zhao, we just gotta get used to it.
yup esp since hexi (jade gate pass, liangzhou, qinchuan) is all in the past and they are all already gone
it probably depends on the country(? im not too sure about that too since I can use my own foreign number (not mainland) and register just fine
or it could be that they tightened the rules again
cuz they are common folks like us, this is not a power fantasy where we can play the hero and save ppl. There is a high chance that we will be in their shoes if we born in those time
||Zhongdu Bridge war will be the one||
||i just look at the spoilers and even those make me feel like my heart is getting ripped out straight from the chest esp the npcs...||
i guess so cuz i can use my number and it was fine, i pretty sure i can sign up now and there be no issues
The Burlap Sack final scene was hard for that precise reason.
Normally we're the god tier martial artist Young Wintermelon, but for once we see what happens when we're a regular joe using our cheat parry skill
||we are talking to them once happily and when you use wind sense to see their names, they're...
||
Even though he burned his life for one final fight a parry is getting stabbed so he can stab them back
really puts into point that unless you are someone who can learn martial arts the common people is very fragile the birds we fight like cr4p everyday and doesn't mind yeah they are deadly to the regular folks
||I've already shed so much tears atp no matter how many times I came across the clips it would stir up my emotions😭 I can't imagine how I would be when the quest is out and I experience everything||
Exactly. Legit i came for the Chinese expensive dress up game but stayed after falling in love with the story.
time to prepare our tissue boxes
Anyone want to do sword trials?
and it's exactly what life was back then, when commoners live's value are close to none, it's becoming a norm that this day you may be having a normal day and at night, war began
have you tried in #looking-for-group ? i think you might have better chances there
Ahhh I clicked the wrong group haha
How long palace content gonna be, 3 month?
that's why lowk appreciating the story of wwm it highlights the struggle of the common people who are usually neglected or considered as a sacrifice in the bigger picture
probably yeah
When the unseen mountain update?
only devs know ngl...
Yingying is a victim of the system wdym?
from the cn news, roughly 30hrs of content(?, but if you're talking about in game, probably around that range
Its gonna be like hexi that they seperated it for 3 month?
Kaifeng was good. But it lacked the impact that Hexi had because in the end of the day, it was a happy ending to the common folks in some ways
no, all at once
She played the market and caused half the issues in Kaifeng by spreading rumors
more like happy happy ending it's a bittersweat ending imo
that rumors is to be able to solve the coin to paper currency issue though?
(correct me if i'm wrong)
Uh... No, that's the end of the story. Before the story...
Yingying spread a rumor that Big Zhao is coming to Kaifeng to slaughter the city and caused a riot that caused a massive wave of people to sell their belongings and try to leave Kaifeng
which is why the poverty issue with refugees is so bad
that's because big zhao was the one that finally stated to put an end to the 5D10K mess (like, finally there's some changes compared to before that's what I mean)
Yeah especially with the granny. But there is hope that the future will be better. But hexi is just straight up doomed
yeah agree god of avarice is a pain in the ahh tho
Yingying redemption story is too rushed and too forced if you knew just exactly how much she is involved in screwing over Kaifeng
Because remember that big giant warship you burned down with Rongyuan?
She cute so i forgive her
And how we have a bioweapon outbreak in the granary?
and there's a famine and we need to smuggle food?
honestly, even without yingying's interference, the conflicts would also be there no matter what, even if yingying wasn't the one doing so, there will be others who will stir up conflicts, it's that kind of mess

the rest of Kaifeng can burn to hell for all I care.
