where winds meet needs a skip button, some stories chapter are so uselessly long, annoying and not even interesting, I don't care about a eunuque walking at 0.00001km/h worried about his life and the politics of hundreds years ago that doesn't even affect the main character's story, it's as annoying as watching a filler, except it's so slow it feels annoying on purpose... they make u walk with a dude super slow, talk super slow, make everything so slow, talk for so damn long, with ugly empty background with a few furniture, what even is the point... It's like they wanna make players asleep, even MGS cinematics that are long as hell aren't that boring, while the first chapters were great and had a good pace, this Hexi thing... It's making me hate the game. I hope the new one won't be like that.

1. Veiled lady's a aureate pavilion member who's master(lizuo) went to buy milk.

2. To get his validation she wanted to restore changan as in helping tang restoration. (Which li zuo wants but in zombietown mode)

3. The golden peach (genuinely sorry) can help Chang'an restore which was kept by the painter who refused to give it to her.

4. So she sent young master to the painter to get the peach who went through painter's dream to reconnect with him.

5. After watching movie YM denied to pay her with peach cuz he doesn't trust her.

6. Veil lady got mad and tried to brainwash us in aunt han's voice into letting lore to her. We fight her as uncle jiang.

7. YM trolls veiled lady like a 15 y/o discord troll calling her fatherless and loner and chases her until they fight.

You're partially right here, Veiled Lady (BaiChuYu), is the other kid that LiZuo picked up during the zhongdu bridge war, she's 3 years older than us. Despite her talent (she & YM are both the harmonizer), he never really let her get involved in Aureate Pavilion matters, nor tell her anything about her past. Her sensitive personality is thanks to LiZuo who never gave her the emotional support & accompaniment, which ChuYu held herself up. The only thing she knew about LiZuo was that he had this crazy obsession in rebuilding Tang (his promise with QIngYi & the pressure from his past), the only clue she has is the jade she's holding on. Perhaps it's because of the resonance from their identity as the harmonizer (and the fact that they both lost their homes in a way) or because she heard that her master was behind Blissful retreat's fire, she decided to take a gamble on YM, after failing to enter the dream of the painter. She was mad because she thought YM was hiding the truth about the jade, and pulled us into the dreams she woven (while acting as aunt han), in hope of getting the info she wanted, but YM is just stronger mentally than her, combined with YM's upbringing (aunt han & uncle jiang's love that gave YM the confidence), YM saw through her darkest past instead. That's why in the end BaiChuYu was so pissed. This whole thing is tightly connected to the dark surge, so after unlocking them, it will be clearer.

Just finished last quest, the final cutscene is so EPIC , no wonder Qinchuan dubbed one of the greatest arc!! It conclude the whole hexi arc so beautifully and give final tribute to important characters on hexi main story.

In the quest starting from Sunken City Lake, if you're playing as the female main character and using the Chinese voice acting, has the voice actress changed? Because the voice sounds different from the beginning of the quest. Has anyone else noticed?

It's unknown if chuyu is actually blood related to us or not, but it's confirmed that chuyu and YM are both orphans in the zhongdu bridge war. LiZuo just happened to pick up the older kid (ChuYu is older than us by 3 years), while Jiang took YM. Both children hold a piece of the jade, which is the golden peach everyone has been talking about in qinchuan. Thus the reason of the very first cutscene we saw the moment we started a new account (uncle jiang getting chased by aureate pavilion), because LiZuo intend to get the other half of the jade from uncle jiang but failed. She and YM are both the harmonizers, but this is a complicated topic so I recommend completing the dark surge as it gives starter info about the jade & the ability

There are a lot of rumours passing about the jade, but with the information we have so far, we can conclude that the jade although powerful, there are limits to the usage. If I want to be a bit more precise, it's highly possible that the jade's ability (like a recorder, a physical representation of folklore, which is the 2nd type of longevity) is transferred to YM in a way. ChuYu's upbringing and past might have limited her in terms of utilizing soul & dream resonation, but YM who already doesn't have the jade physically, is able to enter the painter's dreams (and I think another reason for the success is highly contributed by YM's upbringing & also their recent experience of losing theit home).

The whole region is used to convey the conflict of the YM after losing Heaven’s Pier and the events of Kaifeng, to the point where you begin to see things pinpointing the events of certain characters where they reflect how the YM feels after those events. This isn’t really a spoiler so I’ll just elaborate, you met a veiled lady behind the bamboo abode, after a few card games you are tasked to retrieve information that she is looking for and in return she will give you information on both Han and Qianye. You enter Hexi through a well and are transported into Jade Gate Pass, the first area.

I hope this helps clear up the basis and gets you up to speed

Making himself a target bc he wasn’t chosen by the Tang Dynasty, and because Zhang Huaishen has a Blood rite to the throne after Yochao, because of it he became their target.

ShuiYue (moonstream) is her original name, because name carries weight, and hers is quite significant. Naming must be done very carefully, and people didn't want offend them especially how high the "Moon" is valued in the past, her master (SuHuaiWei) and the others couldn't bring themselves to call her original name, so she asked them to call her xiaopan/yupan instead. It came from a famous poem verse 小时不识月，呼作白玉盘 (As a child, I didn't know what the moon was, so I called it a white jade plate)

i recommend watching wwm girl's video on burlap sack quest for more details, but tldr he technically brought cotton to hexi. only the rich were able to afford silk and enjoy comfort, while normal citizens wore burlap which was uncomfortable. cotton served as a middle ground that citizens could afford and changed the idea that only the rich could enjoy comfort.

Hello, finished whole new region at 95% exploration of the map, and completed the story, all i can say is that every part of the scroll worth it, every lost chapter and even that long boring quest (government's death) were worth it 100%, i got goosebumps completing final story, finding out story about golden peach, who had it and so on and story of veiled lady. It was awesome, no doubt best part of the Hexi region. Absolute cinema

Tang was occupied due to the the An lushan rebellion so all the troops were pulled away from the anxi and nearby protectorates, he was the governor back then and took control of the remaining forces.
The Tibetan Empire was basically in the process of annexing the hexi territories as well
Which you may hear referred to in-game as The Bod Chen

As for zhang Yichao, he was the one who rebelled against the tibetans who by then had occupied those regions and reclaimed the lands in the name of the Tang empire
But the Tang empire had just undergone the An lushan rebellion
And it generally wasn't at its friendliest moments
So in exchange they asked for political prisoners to ensure he stays docile
Zhang yichao's brother was kept in Chang'an as sort of a political hostage but after he died pressure came on yichao to send another hostage to take his place or come to chang'an himself

He decided to go to chang'an himself and handed over the role of jiedushi to Huaishen

It's what uncle jiang saw, but if you notice the cutscenes they chose, those actually belong to YM, so rather than actually looking at the future, it's more like YM is the one going back instead, and can be further proven by future content (for example, someone from zhongdu bridge war actually remembering YM) ||honestly a lot of holes aren't filled, but since the descriptions of the jade actually came from Inkbound, I'm hoping that QingZhou would give us more info, for now the theories are mostly speculations with only a few bits getting confirmed||
