Asassin in death if governor is aynur brother?
Who send him?
The same lord as the one where Aynur offered moonlit wine to, basically Oghuz, aynur's brother were one of the many kids the "lord" took in as slaves, where they will start a "game" for them to kill themselves, aynur's brother was the only survivor of the game

🤔
When the brother go the last time in aynur quest, is he already going to kill zhang?
So I logged back in today and there's this pushy cat asking me for coins. There's only one option to give the coins to the cat but i don't want to give the coins to the cat. What should I do?

Yes
The feast in the aynur’s quest happened after governor’s death
Because the quest area remained the same after the governor’s death

So in the governor quest there 3 ppl enter zhang room to kill him
-
Assassin bc he got poison, so he need kill him for antidote
-
Suo jin, his brother in law, bc suo jin think zhang go insane and never going out from his room, so they need new leader for liangzhou
3 enouch zhong, this one i dont understand, whos this guy, why he claim that poison food is gonna be for him not for zhang? . What "enouch" mean?
And the boss is he combine of 3 of their desire to kill zhang,
Or its manifested of zhong alone bc the boss had his face?
But the boss name is five remnant not three?

The 3rd one might be confusing if you missed some possible “dead end” routes the quest has. As he was attempted to be murdered indeed with a poison food.
Hi
The eunuch thought it was huaishen's family who wanted to poison him, but instead, it was zhangshicheng (one of the food servers), who poisoned the food as an attempt to revenge for huaishen. Since its true that the food was for the eunuch, the eunuch with his bunch of overwhelming thoughts, he himself made the conclusion that: Zhang family wanted to kill him, because they weren't satisfied with only being given the title -> so they killed envoy cui -> "I" (eunuch) didn't escape, huaishen didn't want the title, so the emperor wanted to assasinate huaishen -> "I"(eunuch) completed the emperor's orders -> so "I" killed huaishen
Is there a way to change my region in global server?
also suo jing was much more complicated than that too, because after all, he was huaishen's close friend, and if you notice how in the ending chapter (the full picture of suo jing), you would be "deceived" into suojing was a good guy, but nope (if you notice, during the 2nd phase of the boss fight, he would literally backstab you)
I cried for a whole night after I finished Huaishen's story🥲
dont think u can
ive been stuck in oceania despite being sea since day1
Same..... I asked the mod team here..
Let's see
I selected SEA but I too got stuck in Oceania

It seems accessible, at least on computer version of discord
I meant in game?
Oh, I can't check there rn, sorry

Btw, Zhang Huaishen were poisoned as well.
Healthy Zhang Huaishen
Sick Zhang Huaishen
He is so skinny in the end of governor’s death quest
I am not sure what you are replying to
I forgot to paste the message I was going to include
I was replying to the question about poisoning the eunuch attempt, which could be missed depending which characters you chose to follow
Some choices could cut off half of the endings and interactions
I remember that.
Ah, I see the edit.
Yes, I thought that one was indeed obvious tho
sad story bro
What?
What tittle im confuse?
One account holds that Suo Xun, the son-in-law of Zhang Yichao, launched a coup, murdered Zhang Huaishen and his wife along with their six sons, and then declared himself Military Governor (Jiedushi) of the Guiyi Army.
Suo Jing is a fictional character based on the real historical person named Suo Xun
Suo Xun launched a coup, killed Zhang Huaishen—the nephew of Zhang Yichao and Military Governor (Jiedushi) of the Guiyi Army—along with his wife and six sons, and installed Zhang Huaiding, Zhang Yichao’s biological son, as the new Jiedushi of the Guiyi Army . Two years later, after Zhang Huaiding died, Suo Xun did not support Zhang Chengfeng, Zhang Huaiding’s son, but instead proclaimed himself Jiedushi of the Guiyi Army.
But I am feeling like the script writer is giving an open ending scenario on Suo Jing
At first, I also thought Suo Jing was one of the killers. But while talking to NPCs in Broken Liangzhou, and from clues found in various old items, it’s mentioned that it was a certain “noble figure” who secretly retrieved the bodies of the Young General Zhang and his family, and it was also this same person who hastily arranged a funeral for them. There were major disagreements between the Suo and Zhang families over how to handle the young general’s belongings. Lord Suo tried to stop it but failed, and tensions between the two families only deepened.
Some of the documents and correspondence are also… peculiar. Peculiar in that, although the names in the headers and signatures have all been blacked out, how would these documents have ended up preserved in the Wugou Tower (even if they weren’t well protected and were later taken away as firewood) unless someone had intentionally collected and kept them? Aside from Suo Jing—the trusted right-hand man—who else could have had access to these confidential military letters? And who else would bother to preserve them?
The phrase “one thrust to break the Suo” only makes things more ambiguous. “Throwing oneself into the undercurrent of shadowy struggle” is easy enough to understand—but what does “the blood of a traitor, the blood of a hero” really mean? If he ambushed a poisoned Zhang Huaishen, would Suo Jing even have been injured? Would he have left his own blood on his weapon?
My guess is that after killing his closest friend, he was overcome with extreme grief and self-loathing, and deliberately wounded himself with the spear tip to ease the pain. The Suo Jing who had been Zhang Huaishen’s closest brother-in-arms had already died in that act of betrayal. As for the weapon stained with his friend’s blood—he no longer had the courage to face it, so he discarded it in the Jiedushi’s residence, along with Po Bai.
Another possible interpretation—one not explicitly shown in the story—is that on his way through the secret passage, Suo Jing had not yet truly resolved to kill his friend. What he wanted was to break the deadlock—only by breaking it could Huaishen be saved. Of course, if killing Huaishen had been the only way to resolve the situation, then he would have done it. But if the battle scene suggesting that “Suo initially tried to help the young general” is meaningful, then the moment he truly resolved to act would have been when Zhang Huaiding and Zhang Huaiyue surrounded the Jiedushi’s residence and led their forces to discover the hidden chamber. At that point, if he didn’t take down the young general as a token of allegiance, he would have had no chance of turning the situation around later (even if we assume he intended to avenge Zhang in the end).
Different interpretations lead to different conclusions—and different ships. No wonder the Young General Zhang is basically a Hexi-region heartthrob.

Thank you o.o
The biggest hint is the script writer didn’t use Suo Xun instead of Suo Jing as the character’s name, which is implying he is not Suo Xun the one indeed betrayed Zhang Huaishen in history.
wow...dint notice that 030

what should Ruby's proper english name be instead of "Ruby" which destroys context
红线 Red thread/Red woolen
You got a little red ring of woolen you can wear on your arm after you finished her side quest.
Man am I glad I looked in here.
Totally agreed, but his past actions were also evident. As the trusted right-hand man, he definitely had access to everything, it's even possible that he orchestrated everything in the dark while putting on a facade. For example, we knew huaishen's imprisonment wasn't because of the injuries & poison from an assassination, the real cause was that the poison was accumulated through time, and who was the one handling everything while huaishen was away? Not to mention, suo jing was also the one handling huaishen's meals. Huaishen is surrounded by everyone who has their own schemes, it's already checkmate, even if he did all these to resolve the situation, I don't think for someone, who grew up in a political setting, wouldn't have considered the possibilities and consequences. The last line he said before he went to huaishen was that: The position needs a change. He had been doing all sorts of unimaginable things (including ordering to kill his children), and huaiyue's question (whether he will take up the blade, or die together) was the last push he needed to fully commit, like you said. In the battle scene, his damage was literally close to none, until there was a gold skill where he suddenly stabbed us like crazy (and that hurts). This guy is complicated, just like human nature, as a close-friend, to his trusted right hand man, eventually became set on betraying him. Even though what he done after, for example, trying to preserve those records, and the antique, as a feeble attempt to make himself better after committing, because after all, the person in front was the man who literally grew up with him. The weapon was the one he used to climb the mountain with his friend to gaze upon the snow, he once used to threaten his wife to save his friend who was poisoned, and the last line, written as the friend who he killed with his own hands.

To me this guy is just unforgivable, but also depending on how you interpret the character, I definitely agree with how he did attempt to help with his own way, but he still is one of the culprits in huaishen's death. Human nature is complicated, and trust is often exploited in many cases, so honestly speaking the devs really cooked with shaping Suo Jing's character (even though he's partially fictional despite having a reference to Suo Xun instead)
I am feeling like the chapter of Hexi was supposed to be way larger than the current scale
But the poor game developing progress crippled the entire plan.
I have a strong feeling the YM was supposed to reach Chang An by the end of the Hexi
Because we are literally traveling from west to east on Chinese map and after we pass the Dasan Pass, we are not really that far to Chang An
I feel like reception of hexi content also stunted it
Like i know a lot of westerners didn’t get it and didn’t like all the walking but i recall a lot of Chinese complained too
I am forever salty we have to endure his backstabbing and can’t attack in return.
Like liangzhou melody and paper moon was liked
But Hexi and i recall people didn’t like death of a governor either
Because it was too long

Let's be honest, a lot of the quests being a walking simulator didn't help. The interactivity of majority of the main quests in Hexi was very limited
U mean when we fight the boss, then suo jing npc appaer help fighting the boss?
What enouch is?
And what title he gonna give to huishen?
And by the end of the quest we still dunno who kill huishen?
I thought its all orchestrated by huaiding?
And who is stone carver?
nice pic
King/Emperor/ruler’s male servant without genitals.
Castrated men and slaves of the imperial family
Yes
He did zero damage to boss but instead backstabbing us when he can.
Remind me did eunuchs actually have human rights or c was it more like 打狗也要先看主人 kind of deal that gave them legal legitimacy
In imperial China, the emperor’s preference for eunuchs was not about personal attraction, but about power, trust, and control within the court system. Eunuchs were castrated, which meant they could not have biological heirs. This made them fundamentally different from regular officials: they had no family lineage to build, no sons to inherit power, and fewer incentives to form independent political factions. As a result, emperors often saw them as more personally loyal and less threatening than scholar-officials, who came from powerful families and could build long-term political networks.
Moreover, eunuchs lived inside the palace and served the emperor directly on a daily basis—handling personal affairs, relaying orders, and controlling access to the ruler. This constant proximity created a unique relationship of dependency and intimacy (in a political, not romantic sense), which bureaucrats outside the palace could not replicate. Over time, this gave eunuchs significant influence, because they acted as gatekeepers between the emperor and the outside world.
In short, emperors “favored” eunuchs because they were institutionally safer allies: they lacked independent power bases, depended entirely on imperial favor for survival, and were always physically close to the throne. This combination made them useful tools for balancing and sometimes countering the influence of the traditional bureaucracy.
It depends
Some dynasty Eunuchs can have bank accounts and adopted children.
Can even invest in business to make a lot of money.

i mean eunuchs didn't have children but they adopted children. They also have siblings
like usually families didn't send off their sole male heir to castration
usually 3rd son or further
@wild shoal
does anyone have this in globle server or i am the only legend to own this lv96 buf

<@&1231156582469865522>
This is a known display issue, some CN server content was carried over during the transfer without being properly cleaned up. We can get lv.91 equipments as well, you may have the item, but it can’t be used on the global server atm.
And please use #🌱beginner-questions or #⚔️swordsman-questions for non lore-related questions

@scenic obsidian
Yow!!! We meet Hanying mother!!.
Hanying is well of heaven leader

Yep
the guy Burlap sack saved yeah
Me too
Why?
title bgm good👍
Interesting, so Hanying took her mother's surname
Yes. Seem like her mother is powerful figure. In Chinese culture when women married men they don't take husband surname but their children (almost mostly) will take husband surname
Yeah, you can see it with Feng Ruzhi (her mom was the powerful Rivir Master, founder of Imperial Medical Academy, Chief Zhu of Heavenfall, while her dad is self-admitted mid guy who bagged a baddie, and still Ruzhi has his surname).
If my memory dies not betray me, theres enought to believe that Shen Hanying had decent relationship with her father, so her mother must really be an impressive figure for her to go against tradition
Did you have dinner?
Well I don't know I never encounter Hanying father lore
bgm op
Its either in her WoH-Legacy description or I might've caught some spoilers from cn.side, can't check rn
Bruh I just realized I send wrong picture
Happens to the best of us
IS THAT THE GUY WHO HELP BURLACK GUY
Alr, I checked over the Snowparting blade description just in case and it isn't there either, so I probably caught wind of something from the cn.version. We will have to wait until the Zhongdu Bridge questline drops, if I had to guess

HOLY CRAP ITS HIM
Fun(not so fun) fact: eng. description of Snowparting blade is about half the size of cn.text [Snowparting blade, same description in cn., the same text run through google translate(good enough for 2am)]
@north trench
Who?
We never met daozi grandpa before
"Haunted by loss" my ahh, her hot-headed disciple died and dragged 300 men with him, the words of eng.text don't even come close to describing this context to the situation
Not to mention, she stopped those disciples from going, yet they all had their minds set😭 every strike in the snowparting blade is her hatred and resentment
Ooo. Well there is second description in well of heaven legacy when you in well of heaven
he's xiaolian, the young man that liusanyang saved
The first time I didn't see clearly where the damage came from, I reversed the whole thing and saw this guy chucking half of my hp while his damage to the boss is non existent
I think I ever read wang Qing quotes about Hanying second strike before I forgot where
At least lady Shen's description stays the same, so information I can check is enough for our discussion
The thing I heard about her father must really be some wind from cn.ver
Might be inner ways descriptions? I looked over the ones I have on the account I can access rn, it isn't there, but there are two more Stonesplit-Strength IWs I don't have
It's from here I screenshot this when I learn that Martial art but idk where I can look to it back
Oh, this one seems more complete, it's supposed to be this long
Why would they put peoper(ish) text here but short version in compendium😭 eng.translation team, when I catch you
After seeing some translation software, my theory is that someone wanted to put short text in pop-up and long text in compendium but dramatically messed up the tags
What do you mean, they are a big company and they can't mess up small things
They have messed up one too many things for me to believe they have any degree of quality assurance
Like what
Don't accept subpar work, the WWM team aren't your friend, they're a million dollar corporation
Eng translation team is so bad that they even miss translate number
- boss Compendium entries, Feng Ruzhi is still a "he"
- Jingmin Pool date (thanks for reminding me about number thing)
- Sect masters description, Lone Cloud master got mistakes
- Martial arts descriptions [Snowparting blade and the complementary Mo blade are most recent botched example, but all of them are questionably translated]
- Poetry translations [was discussed here by more competent people, there are better translations of the poems they put in-game]
And that's just the stuff I remember off the top of my head. They have no quality assurance on these details
I don't even read them lol 😂
Good, go get a cookie
Why couldn’t they just get a competent translation team. I mean with how much money the whales is throwing at them like no excuse
Penny pinching gets crazy (and allegedly eng. players are getting it good, we at least got some human editors, while German and Portuguese and others are left to the wolves Evil Translation Machine)
The Vietnamese localization is so bad sometimes English is even more understandable.
The most infamous word is, they translated spears in to... guns.
And all pronouns are wrong.
I'm sure they didn't even use AI translate, they used damn Google translate.
I understand that over 1 million lines may be too much for human translate by hand, but at least they should proof-read the UI.
And they keep adding localizations instead of idk fixing the ones they have
Five remnants (五残 wucan) has it's own reference as well. The term wucan, in ancient astrology means ominous stars, it is often associated with disasters like famine and war / representing how a nation was falling due to inner conflicts, political instability etc. Ancient astrologers believed its appearance was a highly inauspicious omen, predicting warfare, slaughter, and political collapse and one of the implications is usurpation of power which brings wartime calamity. Signs as from the Book of Jin, specifically Treatise on Astronomy (晋书天文志), wucan, also named wufeng (五缝), the surface is said to be surrounded by an atmospheric glow like a halo, which appears fuzzy (appearing hairy/furry). Others say that it appears crimson red, frequently flickering, but upon closer looks, it appears greenish-blue, matching the eunuch's overall looks and weapon. The star is especially inauspicious to those from the west, and huaishen & hexi came from the west. Also because of the lack of records that made his death becoming a mystery, from some places I see 3 explanations, some 5, so numbers can't make things certain because after all the devs are recreating a mystery case.
Lore in wwm is sick
Man we are cooked yall
They made a lot of translation mistakes that they have recite them each update
It‘s fine, at least they are giving the effort to fix things instead of stopping people to complain on public channels.
hello, is this the right place to ask for missing biography entries? I'm looking for the last of each biography entries of the two Zhang generals.
Zhang Yichao:
- Sharing Wine Under the Same Moon
- A promise in Blue Robes
- ???
Zhang Huaishen: - We Were All Young Once
- ???
help in getting them is appreciated!
tro
Dev is indie actually aren't they? There's an indie name on playstore, they just licensed NetEases engine or something maybe
They didnt preoarw for global realese, some dilaogue voiceover sound flat, like whos human talking like that
not rlly , its published by netease so it also most likely has netease support
#🌱beginner-questions would be better
Is that why they nuked the mobile chat
With the amt of money they getting from the whales. They better start upgrading themselves
We're out of topic again lol
I don’t want to make this inference, but probably.

Omg. I can do the math.
It's Netease. They just have a different name on the play store.
Exptional Global
As "indie" as you can call a subsidiary of NetEase games. Don't let a corporate product be half-baked just because it is non-USA corporation doing it
The different name is for their non china arm
Imagine this becoming lone cloud's math test before entering the sect or future inkbounds😆
Not really, their other games are released and developed under "main" NetEase logo. If I had to guess, it was smaller studio that wanted to develop a giant project, so they sold their soul to big name that would take it on. Still, they don't get excuses, they get enough revenue from WWM and their big-name owner to provide good service instead of mediocre
It is a part of Netease though.
Idk if it was bought then made into what it is.
What happened? Can mobile users no longer access world chat or something?
Mobile chat on discord
Yeah, what I mean is, I won't call Everstone Studios (I thinks that's the dev, it's hard to find anything other than the name) "non-chinese arm" because the releases don't go through them. They seem to be specifically "the WWM studio"
They seem to be the publishing arm for the mobile games. Not just WWM.
Including Destiny Rising
Just look up exptional Global on the play store and you'll see them all.
And that's not the studio that developed WWM!
Exptional Global is basically a small sub NetEase have to deal with Google market and I'm guessing android ports. Everstone Studio is the developer behind WWM, as far as I can find, and I am really struggling to see if they did anything other than WWM (probably these were cn-exclusive releases)
Yes TIL the big hammer/small hammer guy is another Easter egg 😂
Oh yeah. Different
Both are NetEase subs, so it gets confusing
Sell parting tears as Imperial Jade Liquor add 1 big hammer and subtract 1 small hammer, what's the weight?
Is that sell liquor related to weight
after kaifeng story yingying tells us to meet someone at velvet shade.whats the quest for it?
is it the gambit beneath one?or something else?
It's about the calculating the price combining two classic memes. The first part Imperial jade liquor comes from the line "宫廷玉液酒,一百八一杯" means 180 per cup, the second part 1 big hammer minus 1 small hammer comes from “大锤八十,小锤四十” means 1 big hammer = 80, 1 small hammer = 40, so 180+80-40=220
Wooo
It’s like 67
Whos stone carver?
Are we meet him on the quest?

Hmm
The only stone carver I know is the one from the Death of the Governor.

so did she die
Yes who is he?
I thought that hammer would be a great weapon to use in the future, so I bought a lot...
……

오리 한 마리, 오리 두 마리, 오리 세 마리… 다리 몇 개?
One duck, two ducks, three ducks… how many legs?
..............math question? or ..Is that a metaphorical question? (sorry for idk english much;;)
This is a Korean joke I found online
여덟 개!
umm.....?!!? i didnt hear that joke for hundread year..... wait i search for that
So the hummer is from a Chinese pop culture joke,大锤八十,小锤四十. I asked GPT to give me something that is similar in Korean.
And GPT gave me that: 오리 한 마리, 오리 두 마리, 오리 세 마리… 다리 몇 개?
여덟 개!

aha~~~~ i understand what you said mean!! thankyou!! but...... i didnt heard that joke (I only saw a lot of children's children's songs related to ducks when i search that. haha)

Well I guess at minimum they make a decent blunt weapon.
Do some head damage.
oh~!! (At least I've been hit mentally damage from npc... )
That thing is useful for home remodeling. Not really useful for battles. War hammer in China shaped like this
This is the fictional
Emergency self defense
This is fictional right?
Yes. Seeing it in the Dynasty warriors is fun.
hii

Honk honk
So the crimson wine makes one hallucinate of home, but it doesn't work on us and Aynur because we have no home left. Also, the real Aynur (Spoiler Alert) ||lost her mind and eventually jumped to her death.||
Made me so emo .. also how do we know what actually happened to aynur?

Kingsvine village and Death of ??? Quest
The banana rotated emotionally.
Chat is this some propaganda
||but at the end of that other quest you can see him kill the guy.. isn't that the end of it||
What are you refering to?
who's 'him'
Wrong era anyway
The protagonist
what quest?
we technically did not kill anyone in Hexi, almost every quest we take is taken place in a dream or memories
||I forget the name of it, at the end of it the guy who kidnapped her brother kills him, and then she and the protagonist go postal on them||
can you check what quest? Cause my brain is not braining from your explanation
||there is no kingsvine village mentioned on Google at all||
is it bitter drought of home?
kingsvine village is where Aynur and her family originated
拿你?
Yes that one
nice pic
Ok that was funny lol
That was her father
||they don't say, but we don't know what happens to her in the end anyway||
You can watch the entire ending cutscene on YouTube
Someone in Kingvine Village tells you she just got delusional and killed herself later
Its her father because the guy speaks with her fathers voice. Her brother is unknown until you play as the Assassin in the other quest
Really? Where's the guy?
Didn’t she just disappear?
I don't know, i never even heard of kingvine village.. maybe they are playing the cn version? I only know I found her in the tiny disc thing
Its the boundary marker in the most southwest corner of the map
The village with a big tree with grapes
Nope, another guy says she jumped
More specifically, they could not recover all of her
It's marked "summereve garden" on mine
What language are you on?
English
Lol
The village is more to the south
She is alive at the timeline of the “assassin quest” tho. I wonder how it could co-exist
Oh I see it, haven't been there, have to go now 🙂
Its basically just a throwaway line from an NPC, its not important to the story of that village
As that village in the “past” map version
But that's the fun parts.. 😄
It is possible its just another girl with those eyes, as in his memories he is really fixated on those, even with the other slaves he is forced to kill.
Its just a plot point to show that maybe he did not kill the Zhang's and just went with the monk, as the quest leaves it a mystery on who did the final blow(as is in actual history)
Both him and his sister hold on to hope that maybe they can find their family, to no avail for both
God they can’t keep getting away with the quests hexi. Each time I did one, I bawl my eyes out and have to take a break then after a while, I have to wonder why do I take this long to start a quest and the cycle repeat again
Interesting that when eng dub say Chinese word they have Chinese accent
(which mean they say correct pronunciation)
😻✨
Hey i am new in wwm got some questions
I switch gears evry 10 level currently i am lvl 41 did the breakthrough got new gears but when i use the weapons it is same as before my abilities are nameless sword lvl 37 and infernal twinblades lvl 39/40 is it ok or smthng is wrong

Hi
Ok I'm there but there is no one here, they were here but now they are all missing..
Hmmmm
Between night and day the NPCs change
What happened to Tian Ying after we beat him?
If u follow the dark surge to its conclusion u will get the ending. Or do u want spoilers?
Sure I don't mind spoilers.
Tian ying is gone? And he got another disguise? That's all we know?
Where do i report game glitches/Bugs?.
yoo guys
Hi guys heard cn server is getting another new region...can someone show where it is in the map ?
Oh u know that part? Yea he fake his death and went on another mission like James Bond. During cutscene u may or may not hear the theme song for die another day in the background
Bro both aunt and uncle is playing hard with MC
Oh my god he is Chinese James Bond
@scenic obsidian this two child competing to be general. they like each other. Boy say "my mom say i need to be general to marry you" then girl say this.
What does standard-bearer mean.
Do i need to screenshot Chinese version so you can translate better?
Mwhehehe
Well i just search what standard-bearear mean. I think i understand what the girl mean now
Wat does it mean
Yeah, but the person also mentioned that he only caught wind of it, kinda like rumours where the truth is unknown. The devs left a lot of the characters open ended, so it's up to the players for their ending. Knowing the devs wouldn't simply introduce characters for nothing and let's not feed ourselves more daggers after all those sad stories, since we all know huaishen's death has been a mystery, in a sense, the blind monk's unintentional mentioning of a girl with those eyes, is basically pushing another killer to the arena. Aynur's brother originally decided to give up, knowing he would eventually die from the poison, no matter if he took huaishen's life or not, yet the moment there's a flicker of hope, the tragedy became worse with on more potential killer, since that's the last straw he could cling onto.
Person who carry military flag banner
I have a question regarding arsenal. I'm using new Heng blade with mo blade. And when I switch from stonesplite to general I loose 350 goose power. Even though my output damage is higher
Well goose power/mastery doesn't reflect how good the stat is it reflect how high the stat number is. You might have Lower stat number but that stat might better better that stat with higher number
Wait this is lore channel get out
he changed his face
From what I remembered he only just covered his facial scars and have a new hairdo
I think the cutscene just simplificate it.
He probably changed his entire appearance and identity
He stole Aunt Han's secret of plastic surgery tho.
Can someone explain why Aynur is giving moonlight wine to a bird? who's the bird or who does the bird reprisent?
What's new in game today guys,
Yo anyone know how to get access to artifacts burea
the birds are supposed to symbolize the tibetan or western turks some ppl say
so did she poison them and kill them ?
So whos mutun symbolize for?
I need friend for gift farming (velvet shade)

am wrong? i'm not too sure, you got any guesses?
No no, it's most likely them the birds were symbolizing.
they done gave me the Toph experience
awesome
Would be cooler if every time there was a sound it increases your field of view for a split second
Like radar ping style

Hi everyone
At that point in time, the Tubo (ancient Tibetan Empire) had taken over the Hexi corridor, and were basically enslaving the natives, so the vulture-like creatures probably referred to them.
Everyone's waiting for the update tomorrow
😂 lol
guys I'm downloading wwm on my laptop but its only getting Mbps but my laptop is getting Mbps what to do
u said wut
Huh?
To any lore masters in here; is there any correlation between the Ghostlight Market lore and Chinese folklore? I'd love it explained since that place is so cool
Ghostlight market doesn't depict a real place but the Chinese mythological underworld. At the gates u see horse face and bull head npc which they are the gatekeepers of the underworld where people go after they die
The naihe bridge in the middle of the market shares the same name as the bridge people cross after they die to be reincarnated and reborn
That's genuinely so interesting!! Thank you for taking the time to answer this piece of lore because it's definitely one of my favourite places in WWM!
As for the guy who takes you there (the guy with the boat), I assume Chinese folklore also has a "ferryman" that delivers souls to the underworld?
It's called Ghostlight Market because historically there were these midnight markets selling antiques stolen from the palace and other precious goods. People were carrying small lanterns on them to have some light to see the way and from afar they looked like ghostlights, hence the name
Hmm no I don't remember any ferryman from Chinese folklore. I think that's more of a European or western thing
Ghost markets are also popular in cdramas and people often wear masks there to stay incognito when buying illicit goods. Irl, buying goods involved certain gestures and slang to make it less obvious who the seller was and adding to the mystique
Oooohhh I assume that's also why the ||Nine Mortal Ways|| base is there? That makes a lot of sense now actually.
Huh!! I for sure thought the guy with the boat (at least when you do the mission) was relevant, but I also think I made that correlation of my own since I'm European
I'm more curious to know what's up with those cups on legs?
Oh true! I wondered that too
Well he's relevant to the story just not to Chinese mythology
No idea about those either but they're cute
Thank you so much for clearing it up ^^ I really appreciate knowing more
they also follow you around before s*tting green peas, lol
there's even a co-op achievement for that
yea, in the snow erea, there's a forest on the mountain with a big cup there
Oh thats not multiplayer tho I got that in solo play
if you go there in your friend's coop and witness him getting surrounded by 5 of these things, you'll get an ingame achievement
Ohh
if they s*it their peas, they won't follow you anymore though
Yeah. But nice info on the Co op thing I'll try that sometime
I also didn't quite get what happened to the lesbo girls in the campaign mission
one of them was actually some moon goddess or something according to compendium?
liuli is most likely dead from the accident 💔 the scene of her flying up to the moon probably wasnt physically real

lol
no lores for today??

How many story qinchuan gonna be?
What is this, we gonna play uncle jiang flashback?

Yea I thought it was real for a while then I realised it was probably her own as well as guanyin's fervent wish
Beautifully done imo
if u return to their hangout spot at the pavilion, there'll be a book about Guanyin's life after the incident and how she managed to reach Chang'an. She reopened An Liuli's family flatbread shop
An Liuli ||fell into the abyss along with Cao Jing Guanyin's grandmother and died. You can know this at the last cutscene where the paper moon tucked in Guanyin's robes fades away into nothing, symbolizing that Liuli is gone.||
Yea I found that too. But I thought Chang an was destroyed already so I kind of wondered what went on
The grandma really only wanted her grand daughter to live well
At that moment she saw an liuli come out from the sedan and she rather save her and kill herself than let herself be saved at the risk of both their lives. A pity her good intentions were thwarted by fate and liuli didn't survive
Devs just wanna hurt us with doomed stuff
We got doomed yaoi and yuri
What's yaoi? There is?
Zheng E and Shen Yilun
Oh that was yaoi? I guess I didn't see it like that but I suppose it make sense too
mostly it's just fan ship, there is some hint that may see it like romance but unclearly.
The tineline quite messy, like how guanyin go back to linagzhou to out the book on pavillion.
And by the time paper moon near end, changan already at war with huang cao-wu zhen rebellion
So whe an liuli say " what if changan dont have moon left anymore" refer to changan already half ruin bc of rebel war
wait, it was with wu zhen? wasn't it an-shi rebellion first?
An shi happen during or around with burlack sack if im not wrong
In burlack sack happen before hexi getting isolated, bc they say they still can travel to changan
It's not really folklore about ferryman, but rather an ancient belief that the dead souls would need to pay the ferryman to cross the river to the underworld, so sometimes when people say ferry money (摆渡钱), it means the money people saved up specifically for handling their deaths
Anshi rebellion happened before guoxin's story tho (started at 755), although changan was in shambles, it's not destroyed yet, guoxin's death was 53 yrs after the rebellion. Chang An was burnt at 904, so it's still there even in liangzhou, just in chaos
It's hard to pinpoint/interpret from the book alone because the books location sometimes wouldn't make sense, like you could find zhuyu's letter to fengyi in qinghe, so its up to the players to think whether if you want to believe it was true or not
Hi
Where zhuyu letter?
Burlack sack not happen in same time with gouxin lead anxi
helo
but that should be later, definitely later than guoxin from how the cn history guy pointed out that the appearance of the soldiers was after guoxin (if i remembered correctly)
go to the place of the MB entry quest
What MB?
Midnight Blades
I dunno where it is
whens the maintenence gonna end?
they really borrowed Yi Dao's model for this npc lol
search up the Midnight Blades sect entry quest (you don't have to complete it if you don't want to enter)
👍
around here, you will encounter a guy named Icchantika
When is the maintenance ending
Thank you
convert to your local time (also this is lore chat, you can ask question like these in #💬martial-pavilion or #🌱beginner-questions)

thats probably a tale guanyin made up, i dont think that she ever made it to chang an but chose to stay in liangzhou instead
Noticing the time skip happening between regions.
Is it right to assume that the next Hexi region, Qinchuan, will be the plains where or at least near where Chang'an used to be after it was dismantled and relocated to Luoyang by Wu Zhen?
O ? After makin it to Dasan Pass she returns to Liangzhou though the city has fallen?
7
i could be wrong but the lian thats mentioned in the story as elder caos acquaintance and liulis master is xiaolian.
he probably influenced both liuli and guanyin after he himself had seen what burlap sack did, and guanyin herself probably feels a sense of righteousness, so she chose to stay in liangzhou and get into another political marriage for the sake of regional stability
its not explicitly mentioned what happened to guanyin after the quest other than the cake shop in chang an, so anything is a possibility really
guys who or what exactly is the Sentinel Howlion? anyone knows?
honk honk!
hey guys
Where the letter?
Yes, daozi grandpa who teach liuli rope trick
?
A heart demon similar to Heartseeker.
Its the pile-up of despair and hopelessness around the Dasan Pass from everyone who had their lives ruined by the chaos and its closure.
Thats why his attacks burn your heart and you need to put him at a HP threshhold before despair obliterates you. Its the MC fighting against his own depression
what would burlap say..."awhhhahhhhgghh"
oooo thanks for the info!
Also lions are usually used to make stone statues for protection of entrances. So thats why the Gatekeeper of the pass is a lion
Can someone explain why we went to Hexi for? So far I haven’t read any of the dialogues that are relating to the current events in qinghe and Kaifeng and isn’t hexi so much further away from Kaifeng?
Because a magic woman that knows our Aunt wants us to go on a spiritual journey to heal our trauma by bonding with sad spirits
Also Hexi is a dreamscape, a spirit realm of sorts, its not the real physical Hexi of that time period
Interesting is that why people are hating on the region when it came out? lol
I guess
honk honk!
Guys who is zhao chengzong is that the child that try to be our master
people didnt rlly like it at first because the entire hexi arc takes months to conclude, and it really isnt tied to mcs own story until the very last region of hexi
The kids that help you roam around his house
Oh Master pu and star stealer child
Just keep in mind if you answer offtopic questions and then redirect to other channels it kinda defeats the whole point. It then means people can still get their random questions answered and ignore which channel it is.
Partially yes, and because the relation is portrayed in the dark surge, while the devs love to leave story pieces here and there, it takes time and effort for players to get the full picture
Kaifeng needed more encounter/side quests
I was collecting remaining boundary stones and discovered many amazing places
Also there's a spot in Qinghe from where the revelry hall can be seen, it's amazing
By the way, who bought the last jar of parting tears?
The one we got after obtaining celestial seize skil

This si the wrong channel to present yourself before the nerds ^^
awesome
Lol
مين عربي وماعنده قيلد ؟
U finished kaifeng yet?
It's revealed at the end
Wait. After celestial seize? That beginning of the game?
Sir this is lore chat and that's got nothing to do with lore. That just quest u give various npc some parting tears wine
im in keifings story line right now, where we search for nine mortal ways to get the treasure basin back, and i think theres a war ggoing on in the back ground? whats the war about and who are fighting, where the son of granny turtle was killed and the fat guy with mustache said war needs to end for lifes to be happy, he also said, someone needs to die, whos that someone if its spoiler free
I did but my deadies didn't notice
Used to play very inconsistently back then
Bruh since I forgot what happened to it I didn't know if it was lore important or not
Sorry ab that

Is there lore why this blud have robot
||the only appearance of big zhao as the emperor is at the end of kaifeng quest ryt
Im seeing edits of him with clips that i didnt see in the main quest||
Who is that girl
I feel like ive seen her all over hexi
Shu Zhao. And Shu Zhao's puppet
Is she some kinda boss or smth
Never see her in hexi probably other characters wearing same clothes
No just mini game. Music mini game
I think shes the one who was looking for a dagger in hexi
Aah ok
She only in qingce
i think she's just a member of Mohist Hill with the wooden automaton
Must be sm1 else then
Oh make sense
Any idea about this?
Those are spoilers from chinese server
Ohh when will we get those
Likely later this year
the regular parting tears isnt lore important but the one u carried with u that yingying took was important
idk which one u talking about tho
its from cn ||they had an imperial palace update||
Unpopular opinion, I'm glad ruby is unalived, she was annoying af
It's a bronze automaton, I think. There's a mystic skills domain full of them, I think the description (pop-up when you windsense focus on them) either names or describes them as copper
right, copper. my brain went to wood because of the color at the moment
Yeah, np, easy visual mistake
I think there are also some automatons when you explore Tian Ying's cave, but iirc they are described and named differently. But it does make me wonder what Buddhists get up to in this world, because from what we saw of cn.spoilers Mohis Hill||'s tech has a bit different aesthetics||. I might be reading too deep, but I hope devs expand on it
Lowkey hope we find out Midnight Blades use something like the automaton for training because the players aren't allowed to spar, it'd be nice to see player-mechanics applied in-world
Folks is there any reason hexi is all desert, because it's possibly the worst thing ever any game could have and a china based game having desert is odd
Hexi is not all desert, first part of it is. The reason is geography, there are deserts in China, pretty well known as well, look up Gobi
I have never seen or he's of china and desert in the same sentence before 😭🙏🏻
Anyways i wish they didn't add it in the game, every step is giving me a reason to delete the game
I hope the story isn't too long either so i get done with seeing this old man for good
Interesting
What?
Hexi in game contains 3 areas, the desert one is Jade Gate Pass, the snowy one is Liangzhou, and the upcoming grassy one Qinchuan.
The desert is NOT entire Hexi.
And yes, China has both desert and snow irl.
hi, i previously came across on stream (global acct not CN) that there is a ring and bow that gives additional critical rate... these are not crafted... does anyone know where to get them?
This is better suited for #🌱beginner-questions as this is lore discussion channel
even any of the build channels would also be better than this channel
How much echo bead do you have to spent to get the new scarf
new scarf? on global?
There are discussions of it in #💬gacha-and-fashion-talk or can ask in #🌱beginner-questions
are the next main story quest lines going to involve gameplay similar to Death of the Governor?
No
lorewise how many days does my character have left
(I still have around 6 diseases left to collect)
When will the Lübu outfit be released on the Global server?
would look so cool with new mo blade
unfortunately, yes.
they already did it in the CN version so no way to fix it.
on the bright side, after many complain from CN, they got rid of it in Mohist Hill and the next maps.
Guys can someone help me
Im just a newbie
I just can't proceed on "A Lonely Moon Over Chang'an"
I didn't remember name of the quest in English
But have you completed the main quest of snowy region (the one with 2 girls)?
Wait even the CN sever also complain about this?! I thought they more accepting of the walking quests. I mean I found it okay and the story is way too touching

it's not the walking per se, it's the CYOA part where we acted as the assassin and have to attach to different people's shadows and find out which path lead to the assassination of the Governor. A lot of anecdotes are locked behind those choices, really tedious if you want to 100% it. (especially so, when you went into it blind without guides)
How did guanyin go blind? I know her eyes were gouged out or some other way but whl did it and why?
I didn't remember
But it's a main quest on hexi
Oh I see cuz I have not play that quest
if you complated the main quest of snowy region, then you have to wait until May to the last map release to continue the main quest.
Thanks
just 1 quest walking sim is okay. but not if it comes to entire main quest, lost chapter, encounter, campaign.
plus people seems not happy when they have to be another character to process the story instead of their custom one.
I love touching and meaningful stories, but it doesn't mean I want to watch a 90 minutes cutscene before fighting a boss.
Tbh I can get why ppl rlly don’t like it although in my own opinion. The stories make up for its gameplay, too many times bawl my eyes out while playing though quests. Plus it’s remind us of the suffering the common folks have gone through cuz not everyone is a superpowered martial artist
Granted they could have make it more like the white crow fortress campgain. Like more of a interactive way to learn while including our characters in
there are some quest they can totally make it more action.
like the lost chapter with the ||giant snake||
make the stealth part longer, let us fight some mobs, make the || giant snake|| into a real boss we can actually fight.
instead we have walking sim, and some simply QTE that didn't even fail if we didn't press the button.
That I have to agree with you since I come in expecting the snake to be a boss. A bit like the second phase of that Kaifeng final boss
Maybe we can live out the action took by the Zheng general to defeat and take back the city
😎😎
What
🙏🏻😭 how big is hexi fgs
And thank God it's not all desert
And yeah i didn't know that
not that big
the biggest region is similar size to qinghe
iirc you can complete 100% exploration in 1 day
i never do exploration for the purpose of exploring so let's count weeks
anyone doing new HR SECOND ROUND for talents
What?
#looking-for-group this not the chat for it
Just a personal opinion but since it's a dream and not reality, I think the devs wanted to try a different approach as we're not entering the realm to improve physically, but rather mentally. Since we recently seen and went through how live for commoners truly is outside the world (where we grew up in heaven built by Aunt Han), it certainly left a huge impact for ym knowing there are countless people suffering just to find a road alive, clasing with the lost of home, their mental state is already fragile. So as we explore the dream, seeing through even more stories despite those happening in the past, it only added more layers to ym's mental state (which if you realize, 4 out of the 6 campaign bosses are all inner demons/physical representation of sufferings or tragedies). YM is proven decent in martial arts, but after all they're still a teen & a newbie of the jianghu who recently suffered, breaking through the mental barriers proves as a huge challenge, if not even harder than physical barriers that everyone has to get it over with at a state of life.
China desert unheard
at the end of the day, it's still a game. not everyone like to watch hours of cutscene without actual gameplay.
finding a balance between storytelling and action is still better.
I'll do what I did last time then. listen to a podcast and just mindlessly press buttons if the quest becomes unbearable.
tbf I liked the paper moon quest and the emperors wine were alright. had a good mix of dynamic gameplay and slow story telling. it was interesting enough and wasn't as tedious as burlap and governor.
I realize the reasons I don't like burlap and governor is not the story, rather that in both, I'm forced to walk very slow
Anyone has any idea when is new hexi spring map,
I'm getting bored Playing side quests
I was mindlessly reading a comic on the phone when suddenly boss fight!
Oh this, it actually pmo
Even tortoise walks faster than burlap
I drop in and out of #lore-chat , each time I visit here, there's someone asking when is the next update coming. So is #📖lore-chat about release schedule now?
Guys is it normal for the screen to go pitch black during paper moon quest(2 girl) . I can only see the bird and keep getting stuck because I can't see
it was needlessly tedious. aside from the devs stupidly deciding to present this story in the worst way possible, there's also the cope from the fanbase.
the boot-licking of some fans here saying "it's to show his hardship / it wasn't meant to be fun"

a game that wasn't meant to be fun. some of these fans have their heads so far up the dev team's rear
You know, I think why I like those stories so much is firstly, we get to focus on the common folks that is so rarely seen in stories. Like it give us a reason of why a true wuxia hero care so much of the common folks. The secondly, you need to dig deeper into the subtext to understand that mc is still grieving over their lost home. More so that they are 16 which is basically still a child.
Plus everyone can related to homesickness in one way of form. I think it’s even more impactful for the Chinese since it’s very common to leave their hometown. Plus it’s hit rather close to home cuz my mom i leave her home to marry my dad and it’s rather common in my country to have ppl to leave their home country to work here.
I think it was after guangyin got blind right? If so that's true then. Just the gameplay stuff.
thank you!
I was confused since the pc version had white outline on the object
You just need to follow the bird
Ym's way of seeing political issues while putting commoners on top is something invaluable, and is exactly the key for stabilization, even though it may not be the best solution for everything. YM may be able act strong in front of everyone, but the suffering behind the scenes was hidden, only with subtle signs here and there (until they actually broke down). It's also the way how the devs precisely tug our heartstrings that makes the stories stood up, and the chracters being "alive". Yet its totally understandable since different people have different preference and a dish will not suit everyone. 🫂

Wonder what the song on madiao cards is, it's really addictive lol
People are different and seek different things in medium even such as games. Not everyone wants to be just ‘entertained’ in a more broad sense of way. That is why horror/survival games work for some and others ask why would you want to be scared/psychologically tortured. Some seek experience and emotional response, some seek challenge and even that won’t ever look just in one way.
People you responded to didn’t mean they hated the experience but it is still ok somehow, they liked and valued it for reasons they said. And we don’t have to like and seek the same things. Liking smth you don’t also does not mean they are ‘faking’ it for any particular gain, although sometimes it could happen.
I mean with how the world is currently working. Maybe it’s a good lesson to understand the common folks plight first when dealing with an issue.
is there any wiki or page which has the story in detailed?? I have beat that women who has like 2 phases and unlocked kaifeng Map
But i dont know anything about the lore, i wanted to learn what who why everything
Is there any good wiki page or explanation on yt??
Y'all wrong
i've read people commented on character biography (huaishen) ingame, scroll down over and over with overlay translation... havent spot any criticizes so far. Guess they gotten over it already.
Can search YT for wwm girl
Good collection of lore explanation video
how is chang an connected to the moon
like they have mentioned the moon so many freaking times in the main story
It may or may not be a city on the moon
Not really moon = home. But hexi is a dreamscape from the perspective of Li Bai, arguably the most famous poet of all China. And his most famous poem 2nd stanza is raise head look at moon, lower head think of hometown
i see thank you for clarifying this
Mid autumn festival in lunar calendar August 15th our family members eat moon cakes together and sit under moon to enjoy moonlight view
I know it is little confusing what this guy called Li Bai has to do with story. But when we first enter hexi remember all those gold banners with Chinese words hanging in the air while u travel down the river
Those are all Li Bai's famous poems
Tang dynasty is a golden age of Chinese poetry
Li Bai is the most famous poet in Tang dynasty
The most famous work of Chinese poetry is also 唐诗三百首 (300 poems of tang)
Most famous poem of mid autumn festival is 水调歌头 written by Su Shi from northern Song Dynasty
i have reason to believe similar to how jarjar is a sith || old jin is that white haired villain we see ||
a game can be both emotionally tolling and entertaining at the same time. those are not exclusive traits. there are plenty of games that limit your character's mobility at certain points like metal gear or even call of duty to evoke a certain emotion during a scene and those parts felt natural and purposeful.
these new wwm quests however are tedious, monotonous, but worst of all... absolutely boring.
ty was confused aswell
honk honk!
Li Bai's poem (the first one in Hexi) was famous enough it was taught in school, and we are not even Chinese.
||Unfortunately we do see some of that white-haired guy's story even in Qinghe to safely say that old Jin is some sort of separate thing. Doesn't make old Jin any better, but we can say Li Zuo is too posh to take a role like that||
Woooow
so you're saying ||Li Zuo wouldnt ever shapeshift to look like Old Jin?|| Or vice versa?
||if I understood your initial take correctly, IMO, not at the stage we saw||
And def no vice-versa, unless devs want to pull some pranks
interesting。 where are you from?
i will never take li zuo seriously as a villain if that's the case 😂
what's this medallion i see in some outfits?
Daily check in
it would make sense though wouldnt it? since Old Jin is rarely ever trying to genuinely help anyone but himself
he also uses lightness skills kinda sus ngl
does anyone know where to get the trumpet like item where you can use it and it emotes and plays sounds?
I think that was obtainable on the past event.
Daily check in

hi wanna ask for nine mortal ways , is there a lady elder in the clan? wondering if the outfit is same as usual members
Moon is often used in Chinese literature works to portray homesickness, because no matter where you are, the moon is always the same across the lands, so it's like a mutual understanding/connection that when one is gazing at the moon at night, their family might be doing the same too that will make people feel more at ease. Another thing is how the quietness of night time would often evoke deep emotions of longing and loneliness, combined with how a lot of people would leave their hometown for various reasons, it became a relatable metaphor to all. The phases of the moon also represent meetings & partings in live, which is something inevitable & endless in human lives.
why do we have to fight pocketrupt circus? i just helped them with a quest
How could these jobless people even afford to drink so much?
Who?

People like Li Bai, where did they get the money to drink so much?
It's a status symbol.

His family was rich and he himself was an officer and an influencer
yeah those poets used to have government posts too
Bam
How do I unlock the Mystic Skill Goosy Slide? It's still locked on my account, and I can't buy items from the merchant.

i have 1.5 vers new map main quest evrithing
Head to #🌱beginner-questions for these
but the skill is locked in skills menu and cant equip it
I’ve already reported a bug in the game, but I haven’t heard back yet.
why do Chinese usually romanticize Chang'an? Why not Beijing, Kaifeng, or Nanjing?
wasn't it one of the largest city in the world
I think Chang'an is the capital city of many dinasties in the past. Chang'an has been a big city even in three kingdoms period iirc
Yes
Beijing and Nanjing were not a thing untill very recent hundred years
Just think of Chang An as New York city today
til that beijing was called nanjing during liao dynasty
and liao had four capitals. none of then must have been as grand as changan
kaifeng also looks grand in game and irl. i wonder how much more magnificent was chang'an before
just chat lowk
Yap
But also, this is what for story&lore discussions. Keep your general questions to #💬martial-pavilion [general chat], #💬off-topic or #🌱beginner-questions chats
What's wrong with the insane scissor ladies in the kaifeng underground human market 😭 they jump at you and stab you to death and you can't do anything to fight back
Drugged and abused likely in more ways than beating, until they lost their minds (the compendium enemy entry for them is heartbreaking)
bei mean north while nan mean south so i guess its just prefix
a shame there's no option to wipe out unbound cavern
The one I want to wipe out is the flower guys in Mercyheart town.
I was so disappointed that the encounter named "uprising" but can't do anything at all.
Slave selling!!
real. i hope it will be revisited
@scenic obsidian what information you could give me from this picture. Historical context
Tbh human trafficking have been humanity’s favourite pastime
It’s pretty common in Tang Dynasty, search the word 昆仑奴。
and 西凉舞姬
I am afraid some of the context were not allowed to discuss on this server.
it was pretty common. han, turks, almost everyone was in on it
Especially women, women are basically treated as ~~"products" ~~ in all sorts of ways due to inequality (men-hierarchy), so it's extremely common, even nowadays in rural areas
Hey guys, So I kinda need some advice. I have recently downloaded WWM from netease for my PC. I am using my controller to play the game. Unfortunately, after sometime my screensaver pops up. It looks like my pc or monitor (I am not sure which) cant detect the controller. its just in-game detection. I never had this issue when I was playing with my steam (wwm). But the bugs was bad so I changed to netease which is way more better.
Ps: I do not want to stop using my screensaver tho.
Is there a way to fix this?
If you guys know a way to settle this. Please DM me... your help is much appreciated. 😢
You are in the wrong channel, try #🌱beginner-questions or #game-support
I see well noted. Thank you.
Why non lore thing keep coming to lore channel. Does i only noticed it because i on lore channel?
😱
never ask how khitans and jurchens entertain their guests
where do I find a general chat for legend of khimori?👀 i found it once i think and posted, but I can not find it again

Quick question, if you’re a native English speaker, did you know the word “aureate” before where winds meet?
A quick Yes or No would be much appreciated!
nope for me (english second language)
Yes
lol
Ethereal mountain part 2
jin zhongyuan?
nope xD
No, actually!! Fluent in English even though it's not my 1st language
I wonder that as well. I think maybe discord suggests it somehow when you join the server? Or its position at the bottom of the first subcategory makes it an easy hit? But I find it having quite a high hitrate like that in comparison to other specialized channels

To be fair, I didn't see these channels on my screen
That is probably another reason, they restructured the server so that new channels do not appear by default
I wonder if they are tied to the role or something
i wouldnt surprise if they made roles and channels distribution as convoluted as ingame menu
It's probably just a name and not an actual word that has meaning. Idk
🩵
Oh
hi
So did the Tang era have a big cultural exchange with surrounding regions? I'm not the best at historical events, so the story of Hexi (specifically Liangzhou) has me wondering!
Yeah it was a golden age for cultural exchange as well during tang era
It definitely seems like it! That's really interesting :)
Yes
so excited to see him on global soon
Chinese translations always have words that aren't commonly used in English.. like Longevity and Prosperity and Aureate 😄
With the uyghur anyway, and the sogdian merchants. I can't imagine they were very friendly with the Tubo.. but I could be wrong? I dunno
Start making plans for the wedding
Who's here has cn wwm acc? Even low level?
ig since lore chat can be quite lively at times, so some people will come over for help
honestly no, but I did a quick check and it's a valid adjective. WWM does use a lot of literature words to bring out the meaning and vibe of the original
Good morning all
Hi everyone!
Can you tell me, where I can find all lore explanation? Hexi mostly. Maybe videos or articles or something.
Cultural references are so interesting, but i can't find any information🥲
Aynur's face is probably based on Dilraba Dilmurat 😄
Wwmgirl and others
WWM Girl / Laufie (for historical context)
Thank youu! ❤️
I can’t start Chapter Three: “A Lonely Moon over Chang’an.” Does anyone know what I need to do? I’m level 84 and I’ve already cleared Still Shore. Everything was fine until now, but this quest is stuck.
bro just want to enjoy a fine kaifeng wine, not getting signposted every days by fandoms fr
the npc that is bothered the most these days XD
every map has their hearthrobs
one delicacy for each region indeed
will we ever encounter this npc again? she said she will raid a mutun camp
If its not related to discussions on lore it shouldn't be posted here. If you want to discuss other aspects of the game please use the appropriate channels.
Playing in Chinese audio now gg
What too much?
I mean, it’s a vailed explanation with a little bit too much of speculation and imagination
Oh
i mean i think it pretty much is true that the xiao lian in burlap sack is lian daozis grandfather, but the girl really has no explanation. she could be a pipa spirit or even just a parallel of lian daozi himself
Oooo. I want my parallel to be woman too
i still believe that girl is daozi's alter ego

Hahaha
whatever do you mean?
Like i've been stuck to this hexi main story quest
And it's not resuming
There is no clues
maybe open the scroll?
I tried but it says complete cavalry demicate i don't know what's that
ahhhh, you need to do the campaign boss mission which its at the huge gate down the route from jade pass to liangzhou
Oh ok so i have to unlock world boss

It’s a campaign boss
Alright
The campaing boss guo xin. If u didnt do his yet. Then yes. U need to do that.
And also i did not get goose slide
Then the passage to the next area will open. At the end of the gate. The soldier woll wait for u
like you are suppose to enter the gate to get to liangzhou but somehow the game had a bug where it teleport you straight to liangzhou which may cause confusion
I stopped playing for a specific week
U didnt? Its not in ur mystic skill? It should be at the last section.
And after i downloaded back
It's locked
It alsp causes some issues i saw with others
There are lots of bugs man
Exactly
....thats weird. Usually its auto given. Damn how u living
Idk just catching items manually
As for campaign boss i can't do anything
i think the bug where goose slide occured when you skip the day 1 of liangzhou patch
i could be wrong tho
but you are suppose to get it right away
Oh so i have to continue the quest
U can inv another player in coop and ask for help in that then. But thats so damn sad.
not really, if goose slide is locked for you then you need to wait for patch
Yeah i shouldn't have stopped playing
I started liangzhou two days ago. Though i had goosey from before. Its so weird. How can they do this T^T

Its not ur fault. Its the fault od the game. Did u try reporting to customer service?
Nah not yet
Ig i have to now
U can try.
I mean whats the harm.
I thought it can get from a specific thing
No unfortunately no.
I pray u get it fixed
Can someone explain to me who and why they assassinated general zhang? I ran thru the first MQ and don’t understand how bruh
im also confused about it
They want power
Aynur brother send by tibetan, cz they are enemy.
Zhang sister want take the throne.
Suo xin, want take the throne by itself.
Yichao son want reclaim the throne
Basically, General Zhang was a victim of a massive backstab by his own circle and local power players. His sister, Huaiyue, wanted his position for herself, and the local nobles felt he was "too good" at his job and stood in the way of their shady business. They hired an elite assassin (who was forced into it by a lord) to take him out, using a special poison that basically mimics a "will of heaven" disease to make it look natural. It was a cold-blooded political hit to clear a path for his sister to take over and let the corrupt nobles keep their control.
where is aunt han during the aureate pavilion raid?
Aunt Han? Bruh, she’s probably at the nearest 7-Eleven getting a Slurpee while we’re out here dying.
7 eleven, hmm.....
3 major factions in short, inner family members (huaiyue, suo jing, huaiding), the court (represented by the eunuch & cui envoy), foreign forces (Oghuz, represented by the assassin). His death in history had always been a mystery, and these are the main speculations as well
Is this liu qingyi?
If she appears during the raid, it's only going to make things worse bc the aureates are targetting something important (the namelist & the book to translate it), which belongs to aunt han. Aunt Han also had some unfavorable past with the aureates, so if she appears, its only going to complicate things and cause more casualities
What coffin master lore, who is he?
Whos his father?
Are he any connection to coffin guy we meet at the entrance of liangzhou?
No
the one in the coffin is his son, while the carrier is his father. The two were captured & experimented on by the aureate pavillion, and managed to escape but his father became mute, while his son could only stay in the coffin (his body was deformed), so basically his son would do the fighting & talking while his father would move around. For the one at the entrance, I think that's another case
How bout coffin guy when u first enter liangzhou?
pretty sure that's another case, like what I said in my previous message, but I'm not sure about the coffin's origins
She looks similar to qingyi but its not her
It's said that as she grew up she looked more and more alike qingyi so I think the devs become lazy again (jk
prolly around 10+ years (if I'm not wrong)
Ita near li zhuo and qingyi event?
yep, lizuo and qingyi knew each other when they were kids
So what happened to aynur after the wine quest? And I thought her brother died
aynur went insane (was said to have jumped down), or has been saved (from the blind monk, if you want to believe that the girl with different eye colors is her), her brother died nevertheless, but he was the assassin in the governor's quest (he died due to the poison)
Which girl with different eye colors? Are there any characters form the storylines that we can still currently interact with? Or are they all dead or disappeared
Pretty sure there's only one girl, which is aynur, but since the devs never explicitly say the name of the girl getting saved, it leaves the interpretation open, so some people may choose to believe the 1st possibility I mentioned
@iron canyon ||what do you think about the theory of Hexi dream being the jade pendant itself? Since only those who possess/used to were able to enter so far||
||There's also the factual connection of jade pendant from Jade pass, liangzhou to qinchuan where the possession of jade pendant switch back and forth, only info so far is Yichao/Huaishen brother and Suo Jing used to have it ||
||You're partially right because that is one of the jade's abilities as well. Think of the jade as a physical representation of folklore (that has been passed down generations), so the jade has been "recording" everything that happened. But it also depends on the user too, because BaiChuYu wasn't able to enter the painter's dream despite holding the jade as well.||
||I can elaborate more about the chain (since it's going to be presented in the dark surge), but I think we can move to #1425508678219468811 just in case||
Still confused when does a monk save aynur and where does it say that’s her? So we can find her in the current timeline?
in the death of governor quest, when the blind monk met the assassin, they had a convo. The monk planned to leave and asked if the assassin wanted to follow him, and mentioned that a girl with diferent eye colors is going to lead the way, then the assassin (who originally accepted his fate), caught some hope, since his sister aynur also has different eye colors, mumbled something like aynur, are you alive
coping hard aynur is still alive
I'm hoping believing that its aynur too since devs wouldn't simply leave hints like that🥹
m8, you're in a painting and everyone you meet is dead
it's ~200 years ago so everyone is sure dead.
I guess rather than like in E33 where ||the painter actually create living beings||. In Hexi painting everyone is like historical records and as such they always have open ending (or rather abrupt end)
everyone is (physically) dead since it's already a long time ago, but their stories await to be told, that's the painter's last wish which is to make sure their stories were known. As long as the stories continue to be passed down, they aren't truly dead in a sense
I mean qinchuan story, did its near their event and tang over throw
Monk take care her after her suicide attemp
end of qinchuan = tang declined, start of 5 dysnaty 10 kingdoms
So that woman dancing on the treiler had relation with qingyi
maybe she was her child
When the new region coming?
yes and no
||the girl in the trailer, is the other talented child that lizuo picked up at the zhongdu bridge war, she's older than ym, qingyi died way earlier than that||
I suppose she is the same lady as the one took my money just to gave me full of fireworks, potions and junk foods instead of harmonic cores? ||Can't wait to beat the beep out of her (again)||
yeah, that's her playing the guqin in the draw animation
hey lore wise the fallen is current present right while when we step into region it was still in the past?
😄
wth bro
@hollow mango i completed the quest thanks dude
It's still the past compare to the current time in Qinghe and Kaifeng.
oh what in present?
Holy
not the channel bruh 😭
pls do not discuss anything not releated to lore in this chat, try other chats such as #💬martial-pavilion or for pve #🧐pve-build-discussion
currently we are in 962, hexi's story span from roughly 781 - 907, so everything in hexi were in the past
The timeline is very confusing, what about the upcoming qinzhou?
what I can say for sure is ||qinghe, kaifeng & unseen mountain most probably happen in the same year, the devs never state the clear timeline so it's very hard to say, so I think it's roughly a year for now. The timeline topic is pretty much a huge debate in cn as well, but ppl generally just focus on the story and only mentions the time where there is a clear indication (mostly the past)||
where do the winds meet though?
in the next region
Hexi is after the An Lushan rebellion, Tang government pulls troops from the corridor, Tubo (on the western border) sees an opportunity and assaults the Hexi corridor.
"Whitecrown Fortress" is the story of that assault and of the men under Guo Xin who, cut off from everyone, mounted a heroic but ultimately futile last stand against the invading forces.
liangzhou present is after the liberation of the corridor and liangzhou by Zhang Yichao (what the kids were singing about in the middle of the frozen lake).
You meet this guy who's writing a letter to his lost friends, and then you go back to the past for the whole Aynur arc.
Then when we get back to the present it's been 20 years and then we see the death of the governor. (This is the current timeline, but you can switch back to fallen and back again).
Historically speaking the Tang collapses after this and we enter the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, the khitans invade (the famous invasion at the beginning of the game).
Then we meet Big Zhao (Zhao Da) or Zhao Kuangyin, who will later become emperor Taizu of the Song Dynasty).
He was probably exactly like we see in the game, someone who was really charismatic and not fond of bloodshed. He really didn't want to be emperor, but the military sort of filled him full of wine and cajoled him into accepting 🙂
You also see his brother Zhao Guangyi, who is (as you see in the game) a quiet, serious man, and very secretive. He becomes the second emperor after his brother dies suddenly.
(Someone check this lol.)
Qinchuan trailer: YM: Why do you always looks at the moon? Uncle: Because that's where home is.
They're both homeless now
I wonder why blind monk of all people would refer to someone by the colour of the eyes tho…
aynur hopefully or that girl hetreochromia eyes are eye catching and unique so perhaps the monk referred to her that way because other ppl does?
I guess its because someone with different eye colors are very rare, and since Aynur went insane, she might have lost certain memories but we are never sure (it was the blind monk's master who took in those who lost their homes and taught them how to recite scriptures, so his master probably also described their features to the blind monk since his master might not even know her name)
it was a very good edit for a fanmade trailer tho
dev should use that as official one since the official one kinda had some AI gen scenery (beside the mural one)
@scenic obsidian why Budda statue look like women.
Wait her!!
i feel like the her in this is referring to the current craver's father seeing the picture of his beloved wife when ccoming to see this statue, not any significant person in the game. if you continued reading, you will see that the current person you're talking to says they now see their father in the statue as well.
hi
Yeah i done that quest already few day ago.
The thing is he say specifically buddha true face. And mc say "her"
Pervious than that i understand that he mean his mother
i also concluded that way too? except if it's talking about someone else?
What's the EN name for 玉山君?
chen zixi?
no
not sure about the english translation, but in terms of literature, 玉山君 describes a person who is gentle & refined, just like how a jade's flaw couldn't hide its brilliance their minor imperfections doesn't obsure their noble character (which kinda fits the vibe chen zixi gives out, he may be playful but still reliable whenever you need him)
would recommend you to seek help at #🌱beginner-questions or #game-support as this is supposed to be a chat dedicated for game lore
In EN they mostly don't translate names unless they are meant to be literal titles. Surnames and given-names are only transliterated(a couple of exceptions for comedy related names)
Please use #🌱beginner-questions for things like this. #📖lore-chat is only meant for discussing the WWM lore
ggwp
Any significant lore in zhongdu battle that we don’t know of in the play
huh
Currently watching part 2
If another update comes my pc won't survive 😭, I'll have to uninstall horza
Aren’t they gonna update the 3rd part of Hexi soon

Level up or ask mods to give you the pic right
thanks a lot!

can't wait for the Qinchuan story ald
You are in lore discussion channel, if you want general game discussion please use #💬martial-pavilion
when is it coming?
soon
Has anyone of y'all done the wine maker girl legacy quest?
Sometime in May, likely early (WWM Twitter has already dropped some mentions of Qinchuan)
+many events are ending in ~10days, so we can expect it around that time, with how the previous Hexi update went

This is not the channel for feather spam/farming
I appreciate the message but there is another pinned message from a different moderator there already which didn’t seem to help. I doubt people who end up here by accident or other reason - check pins before they post. Feather spam sometimes happens right after another warning posted here, where it is even seen still.
Some people reported not seeing these other channels in their list until someone points them to them. So maybe there is a more deeper issue causing this channel to be so misused.
We can't discuss moderation actions taken against other users but we have been dealing with them.
I WISH ALL THE FITS HAD SOME STORIES LIKE GOLDEN AURA
Who is excited for more Burlap Sack quests???????????????
those are really good ones

why are you looking for wuque when you first go to kaifeng? think i missed that part
was it from that book in jiangs place or something
are there gonna be m ore side stories in 3rd map?
Wuque contacting aunt han, u try find aunt han by meet wuque
Injustice 'A Secret Never Shared' isn't tirggered 3 times in PC, is it bug?
Based on the way the content so far has been structured, for sure
If you mean encounters/ injustice then yes because there’s no “blue side stories” in 3rd map because they’ll turn into mandatory for main quest
What HK is even that
She thought she was eating but she ate the thought - that's what happened to mc
This seems more appropriate for #🤣wwm-memes rather than in lore
wdym, it's lore accurate lol
can someone explain me the ending of guanyin and anliu
sorry if i wrote their name wrong though😭
tf is this ai slop
#📖lore-chat message you can read from here, liuli basically sacrificed herself so that guanyin is truly free, paper moon is a story of different women and their wish/hope of achieving freedom
🥺🥺🥺
so she's dead?
but she touched the moon and look so happy
from my understanding it's not the moon in the sky but the moon reflected in the wine water. false moon. it made it look like she was going up to sky aka forward way which guarantee her escape. however when she reached moon, it flipped meaning she spiralled down to the canyon eventually resulting in her death. the death is written metaphorically and doesn't show it literally. it is so sad
i genuinely was happy until it flipped suddenly
The transition of the moon to the water tells a lot, I don't think anyone from the group survived, but I also think the last poetic scenes of when she was happily running to the moon is also a metaphor that liuli truly became the moonlight (like she promised guanyin), and will "lead" the way, by using her life to give guanyin the path to freedom
the last line... I was already welling up with tears when I saw liuli exchanged place with guanyin, only reason why guanyin made it out and free
Does anyone know the chinese characters for Lian Daozi?
The charm Let the moonlight shine upon the beholder, liuli definitely became guanyin's light, just thinking of how much more women who had the same fate as guanyin which is so common only deepening the cut
Bless 🙏🏻
Stop spamming emotes
kinda sick of those emote spammers but nothing big can be done
@spark pebble
Is Lian Daozi schizophrenic?
SON!!!
Very high likely
Or in wwm there is actual ghost so he not schizophrenia the ghost just real and meet him
This, or he might be the same kind of "high sensitivity" person as YM/MC, but without any martial world training he just takes everything
Kinda, he didn't have a good past to be fair (you can see it from his bio), that he developed a yes man personality because by saying yes, it could solve all those problems, which is the main reason that shaped who he is now. Since they never explicitly say who the girl is, you could see the girl as the side of Lian DaoZi who is carefree and just do whatever she wants, or the "person" that would allow him to do those bizzare things like joining the banquet in the tavern (when clearly it's a dream/illusion).
Does any lore explains why the camels are black in liangzhou?
I read somewhere that it's the ink, and same texture with the water in the big lake.
But I still think it's a bug between the snow texture and fur texture 😂 .
It is the first thing that baffled me when i first entered Liangzhou.
🥺🥺🥺
that's so deep😭
damn the way they hit us with the sad plot🫠🫠
i was cheered to see when she gain her strength back and reach for the moon, she touched it and look happy so i thought 'yay she made it!' but then the scene change to guanyin alone??😭😭
It hits so hard especially knowing the fact that it was liuli who solidified guanyin's wishes & thoughts to escape from her family, but changes always come faster than plans
yeah😭😭
were they just friends or lovers though? i'm getting mixed signals but most ppl said they're lovers
Bactrian camels can come in dark brown
It's up to player's interpretations, but what I can say for certain is the act of them exchanging gifts (started from a branch, then continued with gifts like pouches, hairpins etc), is a common gesture back in the days for people who started to develop feelings to each other, where they use a branch to test their feelings & thoughts, if they're willingly to go deeper & accept the gifts, they would start contacting each other and prepare gifts
ah i see, at first to me it seems like they're friends then they exchange gifts and liuli seems like telling all these stories from outside world as if she wanted to bring her too. kinda give me a hint that they like each other more than friends
The gifts they prepare are also common items to express feelings (in a romantic way), aromantics (the pouch), hairpin (from how guanyin cherished it compared to the other valuables XD), handkerchief (represent longing, affection, cherishment), the small bottle (might be perfume balm / blush), the bracelet (the beads used are called 相思豆 [or called red beans], not only it's red which is liuli's color theme, the seeds also represent longing and love in chinese culture, from Wang Wei's poem)
It seem like bug look cool. Cool bug?. Or feature look like bug. Because the Camel reflect white color depends when where you standing it's changing
because hexi is a painting and perhaps a way to differentiate between important beings, beings that were remembered and beings that were not. in the wandering tale you can see that you have to find a white horse which is unlike other horses and is not black like same phenomenon for camels.
Hmmm, I think its quite similar to the horses (if you stay at the water long enough, you would see black horses running across the water, and from afar, it's like an ink wash painting). Since hexi is a dream (of someone else, who is senile), like a'yu said it's represents those aspects that are blurry in the memory, and since it's also a painting in a way, you can see it as an artistic view like ink wash paintings. Another interesting take I saw before is that the black horses are the physical representation of 铁马冰河入梦来 (iron horses crossing frozen rivers charging into dreams [this is the literal/surface meaning])
Thank you very much for your explanations everyone @iron canyon @crimson birch @north trench @dawn elk @plain star
I love reading up on this channel
me two~~~ reallly got me thinking

It should be fun! LaoZangDi has a PhD in Chinese history and is a full time college professor. This is the first in what will hopefully be weekly lore talks
same
I heard song that use in genshin impact in where wond meet
Or maybe i miss heard similar sounds
I think they got one of bigname musicians on Liangzhou soundtrack, so it's likely an artist working in their comfortable style/repeating the tune they used previously, and not plagiarism
Bye bye Chinese history guy
白白
