No sorry, the flash of her character was very brief it was just like one second. I thought I had seen it from the hexi expansion but I don't think it is
I just started playing the game mid February I think the video came in game like a teaser/preview but like I said I watched the hexi promo videos and it doesn't seem to have that so idk
Which platform was the video on?
She was dressed very elegantly that's the only thing I remember
I'm pretty sure I watched while on the pc client but it was not from a quest
It was something else

anything else aside from her? need more clues
I don't have any more š¤§š¤§š¤§sorry that's why I'm asking here cuz idk š

Hi i dont understand how our mc is in hexi
got sent into dreamland when mc met up with a hat lady while taking shelter from the rain
....and lost against her in mahjong, iirc
I think I just found out who it was, it seems according to Google this character is from the blind to the world quest which I have not done yet lol
OH
Li zhen zhen?
Yeah
Really good quest
At least from the pictures I found it seems it's what I saw but I wonder what cinematic I saw that showed a flash of her... Lol
good morning
Thank uu
YM get baited by info again, veiled lady is also taking a gamble
any new lores?
Guys, are utuk raptors hybrid human or cursed humans
they represent the outside foes, acting as a censor for ethicnitcity concerns
I slightly feel robbed but understandable
I mean itās a dream so it make more sense to be some mystic yaoguai looking bird than some foreign looking dude
hello
Bye :)
YO, YALL LIKE THIS GAME RIGHT?
HELLA YA
Can I dm you rq
NO
Its a question about the game lol
Cant send it in here. Does not let me
It says blocked
Uh best to send it to beginners questions area but ya sure though bit busy now so canāt instantly
Ok

Feels sus,

Just took a look at the history, Qingzhou is in Shandong Province,
shandong province is the birth place of confucianism, and where all of the major religion of the China lies in
and it is where Confucius, or Kong Qiu and his clan where buried.
Confucius bossfight when?
what is this burlap sack and changan story about? is it connected to the main character?
I think u watch it in dream, happen alot to me sometimes
Spoilers alert ||QingZhou is exactly the region that is going to be released soon in cn, and it will be Inkbound sect themed, so we can expect some fresh things
||
the meaning behind the story reflect our character
How do you know
cn server already 1 year ahead
He said in cn also qingzhou is going to release, not yet
yup cn got teaser for it already therefore know it's gonna be released soon
Ym is relieving past incidents (in hope of searching for something as requested by the veiled lady), so they're experiencing some of the stories
awesome
The quest so random, why suddenly there giant snake under the town
This is sekiro snake
i can't seem to unlock the last 4 remaining steam achievements are they currently unobtainable in this version? they are all at 0% too
that's the physical representation of his inner thoughts, the snake represent his "selfishness" for wanting to leave a name and have his achievements recognized as the person who reclaim hexi, but in the end he understood, what he wanted was achieved, by bringing peace to the commoners
is hexi tied in with aunt han and the main story
Probably never, Kong Qiuļ¼Confuciusļ¼ and Meng Keļ¼Menciusļ¼were considered as Classic Confucianism aka the way of Kong and Meng(ååä¹éļ¼, and we are at Song dynasty, which is the rising time of Neo-Confucianism aka Cheng and Zhuās study of Rule and Manner(ēØę±ēå¦ļ¼
Cheng Yi and Zhu Xi are the leaders of Neo-Confucianism
Daily checkin goose feather guys
The key difference between Neo-Confucianism as developed by Cheng Yi and Zhu Xi and the original teachings of Confucius and Mencius lies in their understanding of the ideal moral agent and political responsibility.
Confucian and Mencian thought emphasized that a true junzi (gentleman) should be both cultivated in civil virtues and capable in martial matters. While stressing self-discipline and moral rectitude, they also required active concern for the suffering of the people. Crucially, they allowed for the moral legitimacy of overthrowing an unjust rulerāsometimes even through forceāand upheld the principle of sacrificing oneās life for righteousness when necessary.
By contrast, Cheng-Zhu Neo-Confucianism diverges significantly. It largely removes the martial dimension from Confucian thought and places greater emphasis on personal moral cultivation and strict adherence to social ethics. At the same time, it reinforces the principle of loyalty to the ruler, effectively stripping away any ideological justification for subjects to oppose or rebel against the sovereign. This orientation aligned well with the Song dynastyās political preference for civil over military governance and later became a tool for subsequent rulers to strengthen centralized authority.
After all, in the Six Arts of the junzi during the time of Confucius and Mencius, archery and charioteering were in fact military skills.
it is not directly tied to finding aunt han/uncle jiang|| but dealing with YM's emotions which is still vital since YM still is suffering from PTSD from the village fire.||
So we meet woman beginning of the hexi story is before we go to kaifeng?
||nope after kaifeng from what I understand. that woman is closely related to YM's unknown origin.||
It was after kaifeng, since she knew about our deeds in kaifeng
General zhang is raging tide elder?
Raging tide war along side tang?
Young general zhang and old general zhang are 1 person?
what is this
Raging Tides wad created by 9 prisoners (if you want to know more, read the sect overview), they were a combination of different different soldiers (e.g. retired ones, those who suffered a lost battle etc)
old general zhang = zhang yichao
young general zhang = zhang huaishen
yichao is huaishen's uncle
How bout zhang we met on blade awaits encounter, the one with raging tide cloth
the one where we put the blade on the snow again quest? that's zhang huaishen fellow sect brother when he was still in raging tides sect.
They not relate?
nope not blood related.
when you are in same sect or under same master, it's a custom to call senior brother/senior sister or junior brother/junior sister depending on your rank and when you joined. hence the brother title usage.
Dev should put another name then zhang then, for that npc, they love to make player outside cn confuse
No
Old General Zhang is young General Zhangās uncle
Zhang Yi Chao and Zhang Huaishen
tbh they are all different chinese characters but limitation of language translation hence the same zhang.
tell me more
yeah, Already teased. tho, shandong province, and Qingzhou, is where the major religion like taoism and confucianism are. Im very very curious if we gonna tackle or encounter some clan member of Kong qiu
hell, maybe we should go and dream back into past to fight confucius
What is kid hui?
Who's tang emperor at this time?
The coup inside tang court already happen like 100 years?
howdy! i've read pretttttyy much all there is about TY in the pins (and all the lore videos out there on YT rn),
does anyone have a more comprehensive voiceline translation of all of his CN dialogue? in english i know it's difficult to carry 1:1 translations but i got curious. in case there's anything out there that might have more information? or at least, raw textlines of his CN words?
Question: the story with Cao Jing and Luili, was this the same story line in CN? or did they change it for westerners?
pretty sure it was the same why ??
I was reading the comment sections, someone in chinese said they did that.. idk
except translations that are hard to 1:1 sometimes I don't know what they could have changed
which part was "changed" ?
I think you're right actually there's so much content I forget what/from where I've watched stuff playin this game lol
I have no idea, i thougt i'd come here and ask if someone knows.
Just checked Bilibili, it's the same. (I guess don't trust comment section)
tang dao pretty cool atm
that npc is zheng wusi, not zhang, it can be confusing in english because their pinyin is only 1 letter apart
hmmmm, I don't think it was any different? Most probably it's only the translation part, due to language barriers it may not appear the same

Guys how did Guanyin's grandma blind her?
And what happened to her after An Liu fell? Did she go back to Cao Manor?
they passed by zhang manor = same time as the banquet in death of governor quest, that was when she was blinded
Oh by the soldiers? I thought her grandma did something to stop her from escaping. Thanks
hi sorry for asking this, due to limited time playing the game and only focus on boss killing.. is there a youtube channel or content creator that focus on lore? or recap?
i want to watch it while at work and play the game after i got home.. thank you
WWM Girl / Laufie (for the historical context)
thank you so much
It is heavily implied to not be a coincidence though
just want to ask, are the people inside hexi region are paintings like in expedition 33?? i didnt watch the lore yet but want to know cause i just reach the moon region
are they real or illusion of the past?
People still harboring this strange obsession with "China can't possibly be so progressive they have woke content like lesbians!"
And then there's those on the flip side who think China is this bastion of safety away from woke progressive crap.
When honestly it isn't that woke in the first place, and they don't know what Chinese censorship is like either...
I am not sure whether or not the moderation team gonna flag my message about comment relates to Chinese censorship.
Under the rule of censorship, Itās OK to have lesbian content on Chinese media as long as the lesbian wasnāt a home-wrecker and/or the entire story took place in ancient time.
And they canāt get marry in any sense.
Not personal opinion, just general information about the where the Chinese government stands on this issue.

The ||beggar assasin is aynur's brother|| š„¶š„¶š„¶
Why whole family such baddies
Under Chinaās official speech censorship rule, animals are not allowed to become supernatural aka Yao Guaiļ¼å¦ęŖļ¼ beings after the founding of the Peopleās Republic of China
Extramarital affairs may exist, but the mistress cannot replace the original partner.

Guys which emperor ran away in the governor's death quest?
||zhao or li zuo or one of the middle?||
Oh so this was before the fall of tang
Way before
I thought they were in the era in middle of tang and song šš
Idk how many more things im bearing wrong lmao
Li Zuo were born 5 years after the Governorās death
His father was killed or smtg
Was the governor whose head the assasin needs the "young governor" right?
Yes
åęå®ęęļ¼Li Yeļ¼
How are we related to the tian ying
Not really related, he's kinda coworkers with uncle Jiang
As far as underground organizations have coworkers
Why did i kill him he was fine š
I just completed it, tried to follow story but it was so long that I lost tract
I wasnāt paying attention during the cutscene
So basically the young governor got betrayed by his kins, right? An assasin showed up but the governor was dead before assasin getting to him?
I donāt remeber there was so much going on
Basically because Tian Ying wanted to die (||kill off his persona to take on new spy mission without loose ends from previous one||), so he baited YM into killing him
I heard ppl say the story was good so I really tried to understand but my adhd ahh brain said no š
You did not. He is indeed fine
||So he's alive! :D||
I think itās because of how everyoneās actions tied to the death of the governor
And which one was the governor?
It's prolly the fine dude but the homeless guy was writing the letter
I donāt remeber any of these guys
They were at the end
In the cutscene?
Yea
I missed the whole thing
U saved time dw
To witness it yourself you need to unlock the final cutscene in Qinghe dark/bright surges (where you get the key and need to go to a place which it unlocks)
I tried to understand yet failed
Mabye the monster is the representation of the people who were coming after his role
I don't even know what to do with the dark/bright surge thingy š
I just click whatever dot is beaming yellow and leave
And in the end all of their actions killed governor together, so we see everyone including the assasin and eunuch running for the door and turning into the monster?
Or was it just the eunuch who turned into monster?
Imma just assume this is what happened and go to sleep
I see a big head of the eunuch and a small body of someone else and a lot of wings
The minister was probably only on good side and we see him fighting alongside us.
Also i wonder how aynur's bro became a killer
White surge basically just shows you where you are in terms of main story.
Dark surge shows you how many secret puzzle pieces you collected (through quests, exploration, encounters, etc). Once you collect enough puzzle pieces, you unlock a short story explaining how these fit into larger story. Once you unlock all short stories, you unlock the "final cutscene" of chapter
Is there like the exploration must be X%
Anyone did all the bad options to get all the death lore in the death of governor quest? I did the steward path
Same person age 17 and 31
It's not really tied to explorationš¤ you can pick up some as you play main story and jianghu legacy and campaigns, some are unlocked by triggering specific encounters, some are unlocked by picking up specific letters and examining some objects in the world, some are unlocked through talking to certain NPCs, and so on
Very few of these count to exploration progress
He was killed at 31? Or died by illness
He died at 58, the game made him look younger
I'll start looking for those from now, thanks for the tip wanderer
Unknown, the history didnāt give us a reason
They called him young governor so I thought his father was governor and he was about to be crowned or something
It's like call someone .Jrļ¼Juniorļ¼
Not necessary about age
his uncle
Aaaahhh
It's finally all clear
Wait no
Why did the eunuch kill the purple dude?
The one that looked like revelry hall zhao guangyi
(Y'all dont necessarily have to answer all these i swear š)
But thank you a lot
He's a Tang official sent alongside the eunuch to deliver the edict. There are 2 versions of the edict, one of which orders Zhang Huaishen to die. He was secretly plotting with Zhang Haishen's sister & cousin to have the eunuch give the death order. After they kill Zhang Huaishen they will blame the eunuch for giving false edict. This accomplishes 2 goals: 1. Use it as an excuse to initiate a purge of eunuchs back in Chang'an (because eunuch factions got powerful & influential in imperial affairs). 2. Give Zhang Huaiding (Huaishen's cousin, Zhang Yichao's bio son) control over the Guiyi army.
The eunuch overheard their plans so he killed the official first.
After killing official, he chose to go after Zhang Huaishen anyway
Yes, because he saw that someone tried to poison his food before. So he's very paranoid at that point and basically wants to kill everyone else to save himself. So he plans to give the death order and name the Guiyi army traitor. It's pretty clear he's not in the right mind.
It was such a good story
what does our MC said when using martial arts of phalanx and Heng daof
But I wish the game would give us more leads on uncle Jiang
something like, "Anxi, He zhai?"
|| the implication is that no one really knew who assassinated Zhang Huaishen. But, all of them wanted him dead. That's why the boss you fight is an amalgamation of all of the potential culprits ||
And I hope we come across Aunt Hanās lover too
it's the same line in English as what Guo Xin says in the cutscene. In EN they used: "Anxi Garrison, do you hold"
And even when Suo, went from attacking the boss to attacking us
I always get pumped up when young Master says that
but yeah in CN it's "anxi jun, he zai" - å®č„æåļ¼ä½åØ?
Do I miss a chunk of lore when not doing wandering tales as much
Wait what
think of it as that its not necessary to grasp the basics of what is going on, but it can either: offer a lot more context, offer another perspective, add a deeper meaning to whats happening in the WWM main story/world, or confuse you more hahaha
I notice that despite finishing main story, campaigns legacy and dark surge and world bosses I still didnāt see the white haired guy that leads the aureate pavilion
During the boss fight, you notice Suo attacking the boss before turning against us
I only saw him through clips so where can I find him
He did attack the boss
you won't directly see him yet. even in CN we've yet to confront him
But he turned against us?
I think so yes
Oh I guess I missed out that part
he does appear in other quests though, specifically a campaign
So where do ppl get the clips and the lore, I thought I forgot
Which one??
there's been a series of trailers and I don't recall if there were a few cutscenes
Thank you
I think he might appear in chapter 4
Why do you think the story hasnāt given us much leads on uncle Jiang
When does qianye basically die atp
Even the MC focuses mainly on water lady
Cuz we know where he is
Donāt spoil
Stuck in the login screen
Lmao
He disappeared way before blissful retreat was destroyed
And we know or assume that qianye is mainly apart of aunt Han past
And whatās the significance of the jade pendant
he appears in a campaign in ch4 but we don't confront him
Speaks about our identity ig, I like to blv the guy who stole that pendant was jiang
Was he riding a horse or smtg?
I believe that too thief and him have similar eyes and nose
no
Yeah the bangs and cut on the nose too
From the past? Or in current timeline
MC is probably Wangās kid
past
Anything else is too much
Wang was too old by then
Or too little like her being a normal person
And that makes uncle jiang brother jiang lmao
Old ppl can have kids especially men
it's been talked at large who MC is most likely
What does the CN server think
Yeah but after killing his own adoptive father i understand why he would prefer uncle
|| there is no significant bloodline with MC. MC is just an orphan found on the battle of Zhongdu Bridge ||
You mean the one where she is the kid of the aureate pavilion guy?
That is also okay
And means a lot more
it aligns more with WWM writer's style of writing as well, as opposed to giving MC some special identity
Especially after the leaf quest in Kaifeng
What other games did they write?
MC being the embodiment of what the people want
But the pendent having his name and being "important" might be another thing
Even in the Kaifeng lore you see MC just doing things in the interest of people, I loved it when she put a sword near the Kaifeng prefecture
|| they are nobody significant, but also at the same time everyone. They are the only survivor of Zhongdu Bridge, so they also inherit the will/hope of everyone who fought and gave their lives in that battle ||

Whatās your thoughts on uncle Jiang
idk, for that you'd have to be a lot more familiar with how the writing team works, in terms of who gets final say in writing direction, how are decisions made. However, you can tell from the way they've currently wrote the story, what they believe in
Without spoilers just speculation
He told aunt han he couldn't let the melon soak in rain water
Without spoilers in a way, the game doesn't believe in any kind of "destined hero" trope -- rather promoting that everyone has heroes within
YES
So decided to risk own life escaping carrying a kid
and we see this over and over, with the mysterious swordsman in Kaifeng
And the other plot, I forgot but the quest but it also ended with everyone being that one fabled hero
I don't think too much about it, but I think there's likely a very good reason why he hasn't returned in 3 years
If the writers make Mc ordinary then the writing is consistent and we have to applaud them for it if itās Wangās kid itās also okay
keep in mind he's probably one of the strongest fighting capabilities lorewise atm as well
But why? Even after blissful retreat was destroyed surely he heard
I thought he didn't cuz they didn't have telephones back then
no one knows for certain and can only guess, but we could only assume there's something more important or requiring his attention more so that he can't come back as freely as he'd want
The only major thing that happened before his disappearance is him rescuing Tian Ying
No wonder im not wwm's writer
|| also taking the jade pendant from MC||
It's proven right
I mean, it's not rocket science to look at the character's eyebrows/eyes/skin colour
Ofc
plus if it wasn't him, why not just kill MC and take the jade
why go the extra mile into not harming and only disabling? that's more effort
Yes
I thought they revealed that being him with why he took it in future chapters or something
And that one story also adds him to the web of characters, the advisor of Chai Rong thought him trustworthy to save Tian Ying, not to mention Aunt Hans lover used to be apart of the group Wang made before he died. Which means Uncle Jiang and the hanging blade might go way way back
Uncle Jiang is more well connected than water lady. He is likely involved with operatives within hanging blade
He's deffo further in it than han
lol they could have disguised him better

Where the qinchuan thingy

Where? Ingame? What did you do?
XD
Bruh they muting u for it is diabolical
Lore accurate mod
Death of a Government reminds me how much I hate ęå® and Eunuchs
They know nothing about the plights of ę¦å®
The best of our national heroes all died by the mouths of ęå® and 宦å®
whats up
nothing
Do we have to use spoiler tags here?
Any Mods?
<@&1231156582469865522>
Why cant I move at all when my hp turns red? It just stands there and afk for a few seconds.
||@everyone||
Are you playing on PC or mobile?

yeah I was talking about real world. In the lore, they are so poor of resources they can die anytime but they have constant oil for the lamp for generations to come?

The lore doesn't say they are starved of resources
At least not that I can recall
They are on the silk road
Meaning merchant caravans come and go
As much as you may hate them, you also have to remember just how much they've done for prosperity if the country when there's no war heroes to incriminate
Just a lot harder to write stories about a guy who made sure the poop collectors could collect poop without stinking up the city, than it is to write about some epic general killing enemies of the state
Fine I'll just hate just the Eunuchs then
i mean i am pretty sure castration comes before being an official eunuch
I actually don't know if state covered the castration or just hired castrated eunuchs during Tang but during Ming and Qing Dynasty it was a privatized endeavor and there were brand named castration shops.
like they had people sign waivers, and had them pay for bedding and recovery fees, and the family had to give gifts and money for them to make it worthwhile
it's tricky because most eunuch castration records are Qing Dynasty because they were the most recent and kept good bookkeeping
There's also academic contention whether pre Ming/Qing dynasties also removed rod along with jewels or just the jewels. We know for sure Ming Qing eunuchs were fully castrated due to the abundance of records
again the Manchus did good bookkeeping
they dont have water, and caravans no longer reach their village
and imo, they cant farm their own crops
that leaves them to hunting and gathering
and they cant gather in the desert for food
Where is the Chinese History guy when you need them? xD
No because them having it and like still being celibate is like a status symbol of their discipline and willpower and all that
also there's the whole Confuscian thing about your body belongs to your parents, so you shouldn't mutilate it.
which is why it's against the law to cut your hair, and cutting hair is a penal code, exception made for buddhist initiation ofc
i thought it was just ē夓 which is basically putting up your hair
if you let it down it's pretty long
which is why most hairstyles in game are long
they made short ones just to sell them because cute but like they'd be super illegal
well you see that's not even han chinese anymore
that's Jurchen Manchu
the current political policy is that the Chinese Han culture ended with Ming and Qing Dynasty under Manchurian rule was a period of humiliation and oppression and han chinese shall not recognize it as a part of their culture.
politically the Chinese government rejects the notion of Han supremacism and confirms equality and unity in the 56 Chinese ethnicities. However also affirms in the promotion of proper Han Culture to the west
also you cannot distinguish Manchus from Han today
they are so mixed like
They are Chinese Chinese
unless you pull their ID and look at it. And Manchus can ask for ID office to make them Han
like if you want your ID to say Han ethnicity they'll do it
Northeast, like Harbing, Beijing etc
oh of course
but you can't pick them out, they don't wear their hair like that
Manchu culture is in a weird spot like It's dead like you can't tell Manchus from Han, and they basically have the same culture. The language is basically dead. The hairstyle is definitely dead, but Qing is just recent enough that their history isn't completely dead. Their clothing (although no one really buys them anymore) you see them on TV drams etc
No i'm pretty sure it's the opposite
because currently masculine man is a huge debuff
being tall and slim and fair skinned and soft and have feminity is currently the meta
like Muscular and Masculine men in the current meta is a niche
only a subset of women have that taste
the broad population prefer people you see in k-pop
I'm from Chengdu...... and I can say well....
hue... other Chinese people can attest for it
now it wasn't this way when I lived there but currently
Chengdu is the gay mecca of China, as well as the capital of femboys and crossdressers. and No I was not there and do not know how we got that reputation
anywyas
screw them Eunuchs they ruin everything
ā¤ļø
u are the lore/history master, i appreciate u and ur knowledge, just wanted to let u know
nah there's better
I swear there was a Chinese History guy around here somewhere
also @foggy tiger
then u are one of them š i always love reading this channel
ā¤ļø
time to go to chengdu
the term you're looking for is "culturally extinct"
they have fully assimilated after centuries of intermarriage
they heavily oppressed the Hans during their regime and when Qing government fell the Hans murdered every Manchu they could get their hands on. During that time many Manchus cut their queue braids and changed their Manchu name to Han Chinese names.
it's all nasty business
also historical reputation nowadays flips on a dime
While I was growing up Liu bei's son and heir Liu Chan is known for being dumb incompetant and a coward. "How could he surrender Shu without a fight?" "I am having fun so I do not think of home? what an ingrate." to he is wise and knows his limits, and saved his people fighting against inevitable doom "Sima Yi was testing him to see if he has Shu restoration thoughts, saying that saved his life. What a wise man." Fun fact although historically been considered incompetent he was the longest ruling sovereign emperor during the 3 kingdoms period and it wasn't even close. So historical records are fixed, but people's interpretation often change with time.
I swear First and Only Female Emperor Wuzetian's reptutation went from Cool First and only Woman Empress! to Boo Cruel Tyrant! to Make Reformations for the People! to Did some real messed up stuff, screw her. All within my lifetime. xD
What
What
Tbh, when come to politics if you donāt have any skeletons in your closet. You are not a true politician
In the end it's the complexity of humans that caused all sorts of tragedy. We later generations looking back in history at 3rd person view can clearly see through the truth, but it's a different case when things happen. You have people who are "stubborn" in a sense till the end, and you have people who are manipulative, inhumane, etc, everything comes with a sacrifice
At this point the story is mehhhhh
š§
No fun at all..dead more than a dead fish
Can't even skip
Just let me skip the whole story at once....after that old man story I can't..I just can't hold my patience anymore on this dang stories
The bosses are facing this whole story frustration
#āļøswordsman-questions Maybe look here
n a lost chapter showed in this area (It looked like an oisis but it was just a mirrage) i thought okey i ll just do some oddities first
n now i cant find it
Where is a deer boss ...will it be on the next section?
far left of snow area, go through a portal to a dungeon and talk to the ghost (?) in there 2 times.
Thank you..his reckoning will be today then...or else someday.
do you guys know where to find ghost master tomes? for his first story
What is the Dasan Pass entity?
the new stories all have sad endings
Partially correct
Sentinel Howlion, campaign boss
Lore-wise, what is Howlion?
I just said above
Its a campaign boss

Is it a spirit, deity, someone turned into a lion, just a wild lion, etc?
We don't have enough information to elaborate its lore yet
We just know it guards Dasan pass that leads to Qinchuan
Not even CN knows what it is?
You can ask CN players/ look for posts related to CN content
We're in global ver
Not very helpful, can't find any information about it either way
So we got brown eyes and that scar
might find out next region
Next lore the rise an fall of the Mongols
China get taken by ghengis khan in 900 then suddenly china overcomes an then overthrows the mongols
the game's story already began in 962
what would burlap say? ...awhhuuuhhh
Does anyone know what the relationship between Aunt Han and Qianye is like?
so.. what exactly happened in the ending of paper moon? both dead?
Eh im hardly a history expert I just go along with story and research the bits that interest me
hatred ande desire

Man qianye is really a menace to the jianghu
How far is Liangzhou town story wise do you have to be to unlock Dasan Pass? Cause it says unlocked after completing death of standards campaign but idk which campaign that is.
same scar from prologue, it's even on the default face customisation
š©·
pretty sure it's the governor campaign, you'll have to unlock fallen liangzhou before you can access it
woaw
The lion you can see it as ym's inner demon, and the physical representation of the commoner's resentment. The lion was inspired by a poem 脿åä¼ (can be found in the compendium), and the line highlighted was: ē®åå夓å脿ęļ¼åå¼äø声č§č ę²ć(The lion turned and gazed towards the west, its mournful roar brings sorrow to all.) The author used a lion to represent LiangZhou, gazing towards Changan's direction while roaring mournfully, showing the grief of the commoners, of why Tang disregarded them, why Tang refused to let hexi return to Tang. If looked from YM's pov, Ym is already suffering ptsd from losing their home, combining with the achivements regarding the lion, it's refers to breaking through their obsessions, mirroring YM's lost of home, and how they were trying to avoid facing it. To "return home", ym has to accept and defeat it. (It's not explicitly stated, so it's an open ended interpretation.)
Hi does anyone has this bug where there is only background music but no voices during main quest cutscene?
Liangzhou mainquest specifically
Woah thats crazyyy
Wrong, Itās 1207 AD
Mongols wonāt appear in our story for 200 more years
The Khitans were still there now.
They have to be replaced by Jurchens(Jin) then follow by Mongols.
We are currently in Northern Song Dynasty aka åå®
The Mongols came after the Southern Song dynasty aka åå®, which is the second half of the song dynasty.

From the death of Emperor Taizuļ¼Big Zhaoļ¼ of Song in 976 to the rise of Genghis Khan in 1206, East Asia witnessed a full cycle of imperial transformation compressed into roughly two centuries. In this period, the Song dynasty moved from consolidation to chronic external pressure, confronting successive northern powersāthe Liaoļ¼Khitans), Western Xia(Tibitanized Turks), and later the Jin(Jurchens)āwhile increasingly relying on diplomacy, tribute, and defensive strategies rather than decisive military strength. Internally, ambitious reforms such as those of Wang Anshi triggered intense factional conflict that weakened long-term governance. The situation culminated in the catastrophic Jingkang Incident of 1127, when the Jin captured the Song capital and ended the Northern Song, forcing the court to retreat south and establish the Southern Song. What followed was not recovery but stabilization under constraint: a century of uneasy coexistence, tribute relations, and limited military resistance, even as figures like Yue Fei briefly attempted reversal. By the late twelfth century, the SongāJin order had hardened into a fragile equilibriumājust as a new and far more formidable force was emerging on the steppe. When Genghis Khan unified the Mongol tribes in 1206, he entered a geopolitical landscape already shaped by the rise and fall, reform and fragmentation, war and compromise of an entire dynasty. In essence, the span between 976 and 1206 encapsulates not merely a sequence of events, but the rise, crisis, collapse, and partial survival of the Songāeffectively the lifecycle of a dynasty unfolding before the Mongol expansion reshaped Eurasia altogether.
See how many things happened.

Wow
Why someone have well knowledge about history
Song very bad at war despite inventing gunpowder
Itās for fireworks my friend
I think they are majored in college
thats why they bad at war, too little focus on military

I am not trying to make anyone nervous.
It just the comment saying Mongols are the next itās like Henry the Fifth talking about Industrial Revolution
It just not fit at all.
Quite ironic for dynasty that was started by a general
This is lore chat not C-drama recommendation chat.
Probably better to try #š¬off-topic
sure, its just that you guys here no the best of china's history and all

hi
Question..chang an map coming next month? If so, is this bigger than hexi and liangzhou?
chang'an is destroyed
Chang'an is no more
next is Qinchuan
I doubt the dev team have the ability to make a city big and marvelous like Chang An, Kaifeng is only a quarter size of Chang An.

Just finished all the questlines, and wow... The wine questline is incredible. Absolutely loved it, felt also so connected to the main story. Is there any background explained to it so I can read up on it? Like, was it a reference to some historic event, or what? Do I understand that Aynur and the nobles were Turks?
I love the lost chapters, main story is okay tho
The liangzhou melody was too symbolic for my taste
Onto the yuri arc
I agree, Main Story was okayish, didn't really amaze me, Lost Chapters were incredible.
death of a governor is amazing
You can watch the video explaining about it from wwmgirl on youtube
I know there are tons of people that say that it has tons of symbolisms that makes it somehow a super good story, but it felt like a massive trope to me
Maybe the story itself is great, but the quest was such a drag... I tried to focus and understand what was going on, but the dialogue dump was too much, and the localization didn't make sense at times, so it made it even harder
I had to use external sources to understand what it was about
and it just wasn't fun gameplay wise
So far i like burlap sack way more than liangzhou melody even
Burlap sack was great, I agree
I completed it in one go and wanted to know what will happen next all the time
it's up there story-wise for me along with the wine lost chapter and the snake one
Burlap sack walking at least makes sense, lian daozi walkin was lowkey annoying for me lol
I think it was mostly the inn layout that annoyed me, you had to walk at snail's pace and you just couldn't go in straight lines, had to circle the whole inn to get down, etc
and... let's be honest, maybe I'm not getting some super deep symbolism, but the story was not really revolutionary... a guy that has sort of belonging crisis and needs to understand where "home is" is something that is pretty common
100% this lmao
Story doesnāt have to be revolutionary to be good
Was thinking the same thing
no, I agree, but it didn't really grip me in any way
Burlap sack story isnt too but I just relate to him way more
Which is fair, I donāt think it could work for everyone. I think the more you relate to it on a personal level the more it will probably affect you.
Fair, with Burlap Sack I was really concerned for him, wondered if he will make it, I really rooted for him
and the ending with seeds in the eyes to spread cotton via vultures was also great
I think in general with Hexi the devs went risky in terms how people would take it. The format and the content is not smth you would be advised to go for if you want a success
yeah, Liangzhou itself has so many different ways of presenting story that it does indeed feel like an experiment
Folks, is there a place with main story and side story of Liangzhou explained? Like a "tldr" version of each one, but with all the aspects to keep in mind and pay attention. It's tedious that I only found videos of 20/30 minutes of too much unnecessary explanation with more disconnected things/information. The game did not respect our time and did not help me understand the whole plot (may be related to the poor portuguese localization quality), and the creators about the game also think our time is to waste without go directly to the point šš
Iād say wwm girl but havent watch her new lore vids so dont know how long they r. Probably 15 mins
Thanks, I will take a look @vague shoal
Thing is new quest needs a lot of context from real chinese history to understand so it makes sense videos would be longer than usual
Sure! I will also take it into consideration. I'm just a bit stressed after spend too much time on it and finish these stories without much direction on what happened exactly. Thanks a lot
LZM is for us expats targets our biggest weakness
Most non expats are pretty immune

Are you done do quest at governer residence..? If not you will hate them too..need do 2 time for that quest to get anecdotes full š

How is that not related to this server? And you answered after more than 12 hours. LOL. Im trying to play a game and then it lags? When it shouldnt since I have 7800x3d and 4080ti? Just a simple answer would help but you didnt even asnwered it. LOL wp ADMIN.
no way... do we have to search for anecdotes there? I'll pass if so. I get some as far as I remember, but it was natural
Please take a second to look in what channel you are having this conversation and try to find an appropriate one for your issue.
Well I didnt know he couldve answered me then redirect me to the right channel. Thank you.
Your question about hp [aka, gameplay mechanics] does not belong here, in space for discussing game story. There are spaces for general discussion, reporting issues as well as asking questions about mechanics, people there can help you. People come here to discuss story, not help/discuss mechanics

Yes, because we are an international volunteer mod team covering a wide range of timezones. Your @ moderator happened after I was already asleep. If you're experiecing bugs use #game-support to report it to the Game Support Team. We have no way to assist you with them since we do not have access to any game files or systems. where is aynur
So did Zhang Yichao force his brother to be a captive?
The story in liangzhou is cool
da hell happened to the ending of the paper moon quest
You wouldnāt get it
I wonder why Zhang Huaishen wasn't mad at all. But I feel like they kinda have to reimagine people's personality a bit so the story can be smooth bc the actual history record probably doesn't record their personal feelings so maybe he's mad idk.
It's explained in the encounter quest
The one with the sword in the snow?
Yeah
There's an encounter quest that goes into the Huaishen's POV on the decision. [Spoilers] ||He was mad, to the point that he almost overthrew his uncle, but when he came to kill the guy he discovered that it was all according to plan. Yichao was getting ready to go to Chang'an himself and he wanted to see if Huaishen could gather and lead people => if he was ready for the position.|| The quest goes into much more detail, I do revommend playing it yourself
thank you i should play everything first but i was too impatient lol
Is the assassin in death of the governor is tian ying? And will that be the assassination that caused tian ying trouble?
Tian Ying won't be born for a while after death of the governor quest! He's about late 20s~early 30s as of 962 [current year in WWM story], Hexi is visions of past centuries ago
I think it's about ~200 years ago, but don't quote me on that
I played an encounter at the beginning with old sun i think with the raging tides disciple about that young General's blade so i think it's not that far , ( i can be wrong tho )
Probably not Tian Ying would have to be so old

i kind of get the collapse in Paper moon symbolize the chaos and totall collapse caused by General Zhang's and his family's excution, But is Liuli confirmed dead from the event?
Basically yeah
It is that far, you can check the Raging Tides legacy page and see how far their 2nd Grand Marshall was from their current one
Another method would be straight up check irl life events (ex: lady Gongsun's departure is mentioned as recent events in Jade Gate path. We know it happened after An Lushan rebellion, putting that part around/after 763. Zhao Kuangyin became an emperor in 960, "current year" is 962). Not sure which even can be used for Liangzhou, but you get the gist
Oh, you can just cross-check with Zhang Yichao and Huaishen's years in power. Devs have been decent about sticking to years of events, so it's a decent pointer to say that we arrive there not too long after 867
Also, previously discussed markers
#šlore-chat message
yes she's dead dead, it's not even an open ending, their character bios clearly spell out her fate

The music at the end of liangzhou melody quest. the way all of the instrument and different languages or dialects seamlessly blend together. it's so peak man.
I was tearing out of homesickness
a stranger in where you are and in your homeland, that it?
wth
Some WWM characters are based on real people, apparently Zhang governors are part of those
Zhang Yichao led an uprising against the tibetans iirc
there's a single player game that gonna tackle that overall story
blood message if i remember correctly the title
tibetans where called tubuo back then right? or not?
this hurt
I thought broken liangzhou was past then they rebuilt it or something
Knowing the beautiful place was past and it got wrecked like that is heartbreaking
š„ŗ
how was the lady woh hall master alive in this time (liangzhou)? didn't she participate in zhongdu bridge?

I played straight both Liangzhou main campaign tonight. No tears left to cry
This game is making me so curious about my culture and history damn. Back then when my parents tried to make me study Chinaās history as I was little I thought it was so boring
dev successfully making history so fun, I'm also full of curious now (I'm not even cn citizen)
It's easy to learn some things if you change the medium.
yeah tubuo is referring to basically tibetans
Oh man there's a channel for lore I totally forgot I've been wanting to scream somewhere about the quest I just did but I didn't know where š
Did anyone do the 'her legacy' quest?
Also how do I do the spoiler thing!!
use || but put it around the start and end of your spoiler
Ah I was just gonna ask lol |test|
the woh hall master of that time did not participate in zhongdu bridge
Wah
two of them ||, so 4 total
Made me go flashback me reading thick ahh history book. like half of the topics are the main well known dynasties of china lol.
but she did try to dissuade the general right?
||test two||
or am i misremembering
Tbh school have a terrible way of teaching history to kids. They should have treated history as storytelling. Feel like that a more interesting way to spread knowledge
Wang Qing was her most prized and best pupil, she tried to dissuade him from joining the army in general
That's how ancient people told their history!! Frfr
Jiang Yan (uncle Jiang)'s father and Wang Qing were both WoH members, with different philosophies and interpretations to WoH way of life
The music at the end of liangzhou melody is so damn beautiful. the culmination of every cultures, blending seamlessly, the beautiful blend of all instruments, the way they mixed the folksongs, The mix of blissful retreat and qinghe... if ever the devs bring the custom sfx flute i'll be putting it in my flute.
Jiang believed you need to take care of yourself first, then you can continue and have the strength to help others.
Wang Qing believed you should always help others when you can, regardless of your capabilities/cost to you (to put in simpler terms)
that was why he left WoH and joined the imperial army
did Well of Heaven helped in the battle of zhongdu bridge?
I thought that uncle jiang has a bit of resentment on WoH
During Zhongdu bridge battle, || WoH members wanted to go and help him. The hall master didn't want them to (since many had suspicions that Du Chongwei was going to betray them), but turned a blind eye to those who wanted to go instead of forbidding them outright||
I wasnt a huuuge ruby fan but I appreciated the little sister vibe ||and totally was shocked when she frickin died chapter one š || and I just did a lil random side quest called 'her legacy' and I initially thought it was about madame Han but ofc || it was emotional closure for losing RUBY || so good. Free game btw.
Sorry to tangent ahah I didn't know where to pop that in
||yes, 300 WoH members went to help, along with Jianghu Wanderers from other sects. This is venturing into chapter 4 details so let me know if you don't want me to spoil, unless you're already aware||
||I was so pissed at that Du chongwei man, when he didn't sent backup forces because of his greed. I was glad how he died tho, according to the history||
you're aware of how the battle ends right?
yep. watched rexlent stream
||the last stand of every wanderers and soldiers against khitans, them dying one by one... oof||
||that human bridge is painful not gonna lie||
||Just to clarify, did we watched the battle of zhongdu bridge from the lens of a wanderer who volunteered to defend it against khitans? basically dream of the past iirc||
||because that last cutscene of young master waking up made me think if he dreamed of it||
a small detail in this game is that if you look for the lore of the heng dao martial art style -- it was developed by the WoH hall master.
||What happened was that she decided to also go to Zhongdu bridge (albeit after the other 300+ members), but she arrived too late. When she got there, she saw all of them dead (and worse, many bodies were mutilated and decapitated, placing their head on spikes/bodies hung as a psychological warfare against the rest of the jianghu warriors. When she saw this, she went crazy and closed herself off -- when she finally came out, she developed the heng dao martial art style "splitting snow" or whatever it's called in english. If you fight with this martial art style, you'll notice that unlike the other weapon styles, when you deflect, your character's feet do not move. When you slash, you do not step backwards. You are in it to fight until the end and not backing down. It is also why the Heng Dao execute is designed this way: you stab your sword into the opponent's chest, and rip it out from them. This martial art style was filled with the hall master's hatred for the Khitan and her wish to slaughter them.||
Iām a Chinese living in Italy so I didnāt even had the right resources to learn my culture when I was little but for my parents seemed such a big deal so I was kinda forced to go to a Chinese afternoon school. Thinking about it now I really understand nothing about how beautiful my countryās heritage is and only started to be genuine curious as I started to play this game. Main chapters and Lost chapters make me tear down everytime
And feel so related in so many ways in some quests and topics
Oooh interesting. who made the phalanxblade martial arts tho
Raging tidez?
A lot of martial arts we currently have were developed by WoH/members of WoH when you look at it
Lorewise, phalanxblade is inspired by the Anxi army
I thought itās was because he can no longer agree with their ideology. Smth from the into the jianghu quest thingy say smth about it
yes, but this one was special -- if the tank moblade style is the standard reflection of WoH, then the hengdao style is the one born from her hatred
Dude I am Singaporean Chinese who terrible at Chinese even though my mom is from china and my country have a huge Chinese culture. Donāt beat yourself up for it
true, that special skill has us shouting ANXI HE ZHAI
or whatever it is pronounced in chinese
and the soldiers that help you are the anxi soldiers
in spirit essentially, haha
Nah Iām not beating myself for that, Iām still young and have time to learn
Gonna dig every inch of lore out of this game
True plus the internet, I mean we have a guy who have a degree in Chinese history here
do your mom speaks hokkien? i heard most singaporean speaks hokkien in singapore
My mom from Chongqing there so no although my dad is Hokkien but refused to teach me. Saying it was useless
whaaat?! why useless?
I've been listening to some Hokkien dialect music and it was insane
also, Iirc, the liangzhou melody ending music has a hokkien dialect mixed
I mean nowadays only the older generation speak Hokkien plus most of my gen isnāt gud at Chinese
Uh still havenāt time to complete the region cuz just started w*rkš
yeah, it's kinda sad, I think we're uhh, what's the word or term? like getting homogenized or something
I think I notice this trend too in every language
Man we are so cooked
It is what it is
ngl i did not realize five dynasties ten kingdoms timeline was short
yupp it does
Tbh there is only so long that china could split apart
hokkien is nice, it lets you understand some traditional taiwanese, as well as teochiew dialect
basically 3 in 1 dialect there š I wish i knew it
Wait I thought Taiwanese is already traditional Chinese
I mean the dialect spoken outside of Taipei
mongolian, uyghur, minnanese, hokkien dialect, and some chinese dialect I forgot to write
there's a dialect spoken by usually the village provinces in taiwan, my taiwanese friend told me it shares a lot of pronunciations with hokkien
Also, I think I got interested in Hokkien because of the farming song that is sang in hokkien dialect
Ti-oh-oh or something?
Ah okay that make sense
also, Mongolians (Genghis Khan)
Chinese considered five dynasty ten kingdoms as the dark period of china no?
compared to romance of 3 kingdoms
yeah
My mom say itās was an era where ppl eat ppl
I'm not familiar with this
personally I didnt grow up around Hokkien people so idk much about it
honk honk!
I'm more familiar with the others I mentioned š
yeah, this wasn't in the game because it's censored obviously but during times of extreme poverty there would be some of that
how about the 3 kingdoms? isn't that brutal too?
|| in fact in chapter 4, in one of the maps you can talk to an NPC and they are basically eating dirt to stay alive, that was included in the game||
Ti-oh-oh hokkien song I just searched lmao
ohhh, I'll give this a listen later
there are like several iterations of it or several adaptation of this folk song
when did five dynasty 10 kingdoms kickstarted? at the splintering of tang dynasty? or sacking of changan?
less so
5 dynasty 10 kingdoms were especially violent and unstable because it had independent regimes, think like warlords who would take over with no prior experience on how to govern a kingdom and doing as they pleased, whereas 3 kingdoms were developed kingdoms vying for land and power with established bureaucracies
I mean there was a women who is feeding her own child with her blood. Now that a whole new level of desperation
yeah that was kind of their way of putting it nicely how bad it was
what dynasty that existed during that era? zhou, song, liao, jin?
for which era, 3 kingdoms?
the 5 dynasty 10 kingdom
Liang, Tang, Jin, Han, Zhou
Really? I thought Tang dynasty was once of the most prosperous Dynasty back then?
well, until a certain rebellion ofcourse
ohhh, so it's like the roman empire situation, they splintered into different factions??
I think I remember now, when we talked to the shimmer of south
the guy was based on southern Tang
then the Aureate pavilion too
along with the immortal guy,

are there gauntlet weapons in the game?
At this time coup inside tang court already happen for 100 years?
Dem, I'm reading all this lore like a newspaper, everything got me hooked
š
Not yet wait til July or June
Patience
The lore drop lately has making me so oh my goodness
I cannot wait until they drop me
MORE
July or June is too early, expect the fist to arrive beyond September
God damn it why wwm
Can't wait for fist weapon!
why is ts so sad? have the devs never been loved in their lives?
it's describing how in such a short time they have experienced a change of 5 dynasties
lol no way it's september, fist is in the new region after hexi and if it takes that long game would be dead
does anyone know what TY says in p2 in Chinese, when he attacks you during that phase? it's not said anywhere else and i am a monolingual plebian š
After finish aynur lost chapter, we saw that ym really seek on revenge road to qianye after what her done.
I thought ym not gonna take this road.
Devs love to use mirroring, ym till this point hasn't taken revenge on qianye, so is Aynur. If you notice the short description after you drank the wine 3 times, it says something like, Does Aynur really exists? Note that, Aynur is still alive (if you did the governor campaign) but from eavesdropping, she went insane after, so she didn't get to revenge on those who destroyed her family as well

|| there was a clip on rednote where ym was chasing after Qianye in äøč§å±±. If I rmb correctly, lots of comments say that when they laugh. Itās was as if they have lost their mind ||
is there any map yet to come in future which is already in chinease server?
Thats why phalanxblade summons anxi army, what about hengblade
Kaifeng palace and äøč§å±± (base of Mohist hill) those the one I know of
I hear there a up coming map region with the base of ink bound sect
Is the qianyeās confortation linked with Lianzhou?
Not rlly from what I saw and hear from others. Think hexi as an surreal interpretation of MCās longing for home
veiled lady promised us with info about qianye, that was basically ym's ptsd manifesting (like a dream within a dream)
Jesus that kid rlly need a therapist huh
heng blade was created by the 20th WoH sect leader (Shen Han Ying), the base was from her father, she "perfected" it after witnessing the 300 disciples went to aid Wang Qing in the ZhongDu Bridge battle, she was worried, but by the time she arrived,~~ she saw them decapitated and piled up~~, that's why the martial arts only focuses on attacking, and will deal damage immediately after you parry, it was her resentment and grief. WoH suffered a lot from the battle and the sect was on the verge of disbanding
ym is only 16 after all, and grew up with a lot of love, they were really sheltered until the fire came
But why hengblade not showing on woh sect ultimate
the martial arts is called snowparting blade, hengblade is the name of the weapon
Why full spoiler, i even dunno if safe to open it or not for myself
it's about content from later chapters, so if you mind, better not
According to the lore today I get Gacha Item, Gacha Outfit, Harmonic Core or double Harmonic Core from the Gacha. I manifest this!!! šš½
Are there good resources to watch in depth lore dump videos? Ideally in comparison with the historical accuracy and etc. Think vatividya or etc for darksouls
Are Aynur and her family supposed to be Turkic? I don't think they have Mandarin names and Aynur has green and blue eyes.
WWM Girl + Laufie
Damnn
Bro icl hexi has been the worst main part, boring confusing story. Rubbish campaigns apart from whitecrown fortress.
I would so love for some darker chapter where MC goes bonkers and just gives in, a campaign where you literally hunt Aureate Pavilion
Our Mc in their villain arc
ngl, that mirror part with Aynur felt so cathartic
I want to see angry MC, also more opportunity to show their martial prowess
more like antihero arc
I can't stop listening Im tearing my eyes out š
Fwalicia
The last folk song is also super popular throughout china today, most mainlanders prob know it
Really?
the jasmine flower?
the mongolian and tibetan singing give me bit of chills
yeah
super popular as in well known
if you hum the melody most people can name it lol
When you hear the lyrics of folk songs in Shanbei dialect, Uyghurs language, Mongolian, Nanai language, Hunan dialect, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien and Wu in the end of Liangzhou Melody.

What song are the children in the middle of the lake in liangzhou singing?

Heaven wide, yet none can flee,
Routed horsemen cease to be.
One fierce clashāthe tribes undone,
Broken, scattered, nearly gone.
Where the generalās might descends,
Killing aura never ends.
Like sheep and hounds they see defeat,
Flee in shards, in full retreat.
Yet from afar they came to dieā
None shall live, none pass us by.
If the wolves are left to roam,
How can peace return to home?
A good exploring guild?
The uyghur one and the unknown tibetan along with the mongolian music is so pleasant to hear. China have been preserving their history huh?
I am not a Mongolian or Tibetan so I am not qualify to testify on that.
Does anyone know how to trigger the All In Vain encounter for Liangzhou?
what I mean is, that I think it's really nice how China tries to preserve the culture that has been existing since the ancient times. or Tang dynasty i think... considering how the modern society forgetting something.. hmmm
Absolute goat
It is not related to this channel and better suited in #š±beginner-questions but it is right there in the left lower corner when you open encounters tab of the quests
Sorry
And thank you
Just finished LiangZhou melody main quest:
good plot sources
terrible story design
whoever make story design of that chapter need to be fired. so bad.
terrible story design?? in what sense? it's not undesrstandable to you?
It was a beautiful story of what it means to call a place home, even when you have never been there. It represents every second generation immigrants etc
there are much better way to tell the story than that mumbo jumbo bullsh*it
After Burlap sack I learned to be patient with the plots
Good reminder that not everyone is super human young master that fight demons after saving 3 villages
Liangzhou melody became my top favorite mainquest. compared to the kaifeng main quest
This. due to my past personal experiences, I guess the quest resonated to me more compared to some hype and aura moments in kaifeng and qinghe
Kaifeng main quest was my absolute favourite I love political intrigue
Quests can be good but the one that has a personal impact just feels different
You will love chapter 4
OMG I DID
DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED
HOMEWARD VOW WAS INCREDIBLE
And no spoilers or YouTube guide I was fully immersed
Thatās still chapter 3
And the part where the MC gets the sword
Chapter 4 is what coming after Hexi
Nope itās one of the campaigns
shrug, I just remember I play the game no read book or watch movie so as I said before: for Liangzhou the plot is good, but else nah.
Huh? Isnāt chapter 5 and 6 in qichuan
Hexi as a whole is chapter 3
is this the mohist hill chapter?
Yeah
I meant the jianghu legacy section
The engineering ppl?
yeah, those engineers who subscribed to no violence
Mohist Hill plot is a good mix of political issues and cool inside story that are a bit more emotional
mohist sect
I better get more rong yuan stuff even little stuff
Murong yuan's mother was a Mohist sect iirc
Thank you now Iām so excited
Wish we could see murong's mother if she's alive
I think it was mentioned by general shou shouxin or the chained father
But yeah you will probably love it
Itās a great place with tons of funny stuff that are a bit outside of the traditional Wuxia context without being as mythical as Hexi while still keeping that wow impression
Why is burlap sacks coins marked 15th year of dali if Dali never lasted 15 years
WAIT IS KAIFENG PREFECTURE GUY GONNA BE THERE
Yeah
Because the Anxi soldiers didnāt know how long they have been gone
OMG OMG OMG
||zhao kuangyin?||
||Zhao brother will be the main part for the political stuff||
Yeah
I like calling him prefecture cause idk how to spell his name well
Itās a 680 outfit iirc
I liked the quest I had to do for him and his inner demons
||oh yeah, I just remembered! in the boat quest in Qinghe, the master thief stuff, I didn't know the guy who owned the boat tried to kill yingying (wen wuque)||
I forgot that quest, it was kinda boring
yeah it is, but it is an interesting sneak peak of what is happening in Jiangnan
and an interesting ideological clash between a businessman and a master thief
I donāt remember much so I canāt comment
I just remember falling into the water a lot because I didnāt know what the yellow jump thing was for
fair. but the guy who owns the boat tried to kill yingying and stole her martial arts if I read it right in the lore
that's why Yingying arrived in the kaifeng bloodied
Where can I read on this
either the master thief, the boat guy owner, or ying ying
liked the quest too~
After Hexi, I really want Bujianshan to come faster so people can finally shut up about the progress
So behind the well in the clinic in Qinghe i found in the room something i can't equip handwritten scroll
So any idea what is that
j

zhang kuangyin is big zhao btw, prefecture name is zhao guangyi
They're brothers, 12 years apart. Big Zhao is 35 and ZGY is 23.
Didnt guangyi name of cao guangyi of liangzhou, are those relate each other?
No
For Chinese names, first ćwordć is the surname/family name while the second is personal name. For the brothers, "Zhao" is the family name, Kuangyin and Guangyi are personal names. People having same personal names is more matter of coincidence than anything
Btw it's funny to think Uncle Jiang, Big Zhao and maybe CZX are the same age
And Tian Ying is younger than themš
Chen Zixi.... he appears in some of Jian Yan's stories, so we can check if he's younger or older by the way JWL addresses himš¤
(Which I unfortunately can't recall of the top of my head)
Same age group, that's as far as my memory goes
Given Big Zhao's current state is a result of him being heavily pressured as emperor
So they are relate?
More likely the culprit is going from highly active position to sedentary papers&meetings position + stress isn't helping
Who are they
Zhao brothers? Yes. The Liangzhou guy? Coincidence
Absolutely not, hanzi differs
not so sure abt who you're saying, the cao I know in liangzhao is cao (ę¹), the zhao brothers in kaifeng is čµµ, they're not related, but it can be confusing because the pinyin seems & sounds similar, in cn the characters have distinct differences, zhao is the more common surname if compared to cao
Does Chinese ppl say it that 2 words same way verbally?
cĆ”o (ę¹) and zhĆ o (čµµ) these are their pinyins, the first tone is going up while the second is stressed (downwards kind of feel), so it's very clear, plus when pronouncing zhao, you have the h sound while cao doesn't
Wait that was him!? I thought they were only related in someway cuz of their surname and being rich as hell. Not him the one that chase her out
Hey how can i join pathner program
At first I didn't like it either, and then i realized that was the point. The sheer helplessness of it..

Is the red dresss girl some how related to MC's aunt or it's a total different story
Anyone knows which lore channels are recommended? Besides WWMGirl
yeah wuhen & wuque (yingying) are cousins, you can read their stories in one of their bios
C in Chinese is pronounced like S, Zh is pronounced identically to J
Idt C is like that but ig zh is similar to J altho zh needs alittle more emphasis
I still want to throw a brick at Global devs for their constant mispronunciations

waiting

Unless they get vas that are fluent in both chinese & english to ensure the accuracy the pronounciations, but that would be quite hard because voice acting still has multiple aspects to be considered off
regarding Roaring Sands lore, who made the formula/elixir/method to create the Dragon King from carps?
Uhhhh,did i lose history class already?š
At least they should put more effort like certain 3d anime gacha games and have voice direction
@scenic obsidian what is Huajian Ke. Many people near velvet shade place have this title
The literal translation is āPeople around flowersā
Transliteration would be āpatron of the pleasure houseā
Hmmm sus
Most probably it's the zhang family (river master family)
hi guys im new here

raika on 4k
Hi guys Iām new here, Iām dad
i think it's just a way of saying they come regulary to come see the flowers (aka velvet shade members) and they contribute a lot hence patron. but then again a vs member was entangled with a married women

Also some VS wandering tales implying night of passion.... what are they doing thereš how deep does the art goššš
We already got our cherry picked if that's the case
YM is not really the type to commit in any relationship at the moment anyway
Considering how nonchalant they were about the situation, I'm either wildly misreading it, or the cherry might've already been picked for some time
isn't it implied that such a thing is part of their services or am i misunderstanding something? so "patron of the pleasure house" is very understandable
the game being 12+ seems to be why it is not often implied. but when it does, that's the implication i get
I mean human tr*ficking is a thing in the game if you read the scissor ladies lore for example, they were subtle with the dark stuff
i know, Unbound Cavern stuff was uncomfortable
that's why i was thinking, if the devs put stuff like the Unbound Cavern, the implication of ''pleasure house" isn't far fetched
And the fact that the location is called "Ghost Revelry Hall"... devs sure didn't hide the parallel
Yeah it's pretty grim
and then i found the Injustice Quest in Forsaken Quarter, the grandma of one of the scissor girls š
stings deeper
Oh yeah, that quest
There's also a Qinghe encounter where YM gets tricked, and the "implication" is if they weren't lucky to have NMW intercept the "shipment", they'd get trafficked to Unbound Cavernš¶
that gave me the chilling through my bones when it happened...
just thinking about the what ifs
Also their enemy description is heartbreaking, drugged and abused to the point of losing their mind
this. it is also written that they disfigure their face as a form of coping mechanism š
it is why i killed them all. i tried to mercy kill them, at least that's what i think to myself
You can even stop and open the ghostlight market boundary stone earlyš
speaking of eery quest, there was a cannibal lady quest in Flower Expanse
i did see a cannibal with a dead chicken but a lady? š
? The ugly lady?
Oh, probably missed it.
she drugged MC and the MC got sent to a certain AP village
MC faints a lot tbh which is bc of uncle jiang exposing him to rain back then lol
Poor YM must have poison resistance after all these times getting drugged (and all the alcohol they drink)
i still giggle when i think the MC sniffs the moldy wooden board in Zheng E's quest
YM's sense of scent developing XD
No wonder Zhai Xu had a field day with them, YM is that kind of special
YM canonically can't survive the 9mw base without being stripped naked of his belongings
YM was really pissed with the bee sting prank out of all the stuff in there tbh
Everything else can be interpreted in good fun, but the bee stings.... well, they sting
You missed the chance to see your chara face swelled up
it looks so goofy asf
His voice cracked me up, he sounds so upset
I'll never believe anything you say ever again!
they're a kind hearted person but a person also have their limits XD
Speaking of, chinese VAs deserve their flowers. The facial expressions kinda lacking tho
the wwm models kinda have a bit of less expression sometimes esp kinda out of focus dead eyes
I heard WWM has a Weird code for facial models to save space+allow to easily see customization in multi-player, so they can only di so much with the facial emotionsš
Yeah i thought so too, i always speculated it was bc of the models themselves
speaking of fart, reminds me of this
The NPCs also have those dead eyes too lol
the eyes look very dazed and out of focus...
Speaking of, why don't we have a cutscene gallery? Was it brought up in the suggestion before?
Because I'm putting it up if no one did, I'm kinda tired repeating some quests
we need them ngl, i tried choosing quest replay on some but some are bugged (e.g. ever normal grarnry quest you're just stuck in the domain)
Because all WWM human models use same codeš as far as I understand, they have a few "baseline" dummies [old male/female, young male/female, kid, etc] and they use vectors to "adjust" the faces to specific customized features for players and some NPCs. I guess if they did a lot of facial expressions, it'd clash with how they handle customizable faces, so they went with safe route of limited expressions
That's why all low-importance male NPCs have same scar as YM
Done lol
BC basic YM face is the "dummy" everyone else gets superimposed on
It's kinda weird seeing them with the same scar which should have been exclusive to the YM
It doesn't feel so special anymore
Oh god that explain so much
i was surprised to see it on an npc first and thought it was lore significant imagine the disappointment when i found out it was default model hence the scar
I made my scar a bit more visible as compensation
I lowkey forgot it was YM's scar, because I removed it from mine, but after seeing it one too many times... even Huaishen's shidi got it, like come on
It's kinda weird, because the character face adjustment screen classifies it as Accessory, so I'm assuming the scar isn't "hard-coded" or drawn into the textures, so how is it on everyone
YM scar is one of their iconic features as a kid tho so it's weird they just used it on their generic models out of all things
Now we have a buncha NPCs with the same scar running around
Trust, there's a secret tooth-fairy-type-thing running around jianghu and putting that scar on everyone/jk
Girls in revelry hall (or sometimes in general) are compared as flowers, so as a customer, you're called as flower visitors
As it is part of default makeup - it gets applied on characters in certain memory dives for gossips as well. So you will see a very different face to the one your friend actually has
Is it true that the English VA is ai?
The Chinese ones are amazing
fwalicia honestly her and wwm girl are the best we got
heard about some, but I don't think all of them are
I found that switching to mandarin even forced me to listen to things Iād usually ignore
Thatās not good
Unfortunately it's likely same as text, some are person-made/edited, some less important aren't touched by humans
They could have 1 male and 1 female VA that does all the less important characters
Sadly true, but to a certain extend, if you see an npc with a different unique face, you know they are definitely going to be an important
We can speculate on the team all we want, but there's no knowing for sure hereš the eng.text has mistakes that are clearly AI, eng.marketing team uses AI ćvisualsć on some posts, but it's hard to prove for voiceover
Jesus Christ, the whales did not spend over 50k just to have AI voice acting. If they want it, do it for the common npc walking around
imdb.com/title/tt22781080/fullcredits/
English VA is listed here noobs
Uncle Jiang didn't want aureate pavilion to easily identify mc so he went around at night cutting people on the face while they sleep
It's true. I totally didn't make it up
Lmao
Ah sweet thanks
amazing story
best god game
Lmaoo
What scar?
the scar on left side of their face, shown by how they got in the first few cutscenes when you first login to game

Where ym get the scar?
cutscene before uncle jiang fight void king, he was scratched on his cheek
Where is mobile chat
Mobile chat ?
Same question
Hi, Iāve been playing the new quest, and I feel like the rewards are too low. It feels like a waste of time and isn't very fun. Does anyone else feel the same way?
idk what quest you're refering to, there's a lot of new quests
Which new quest
Chapter three a lonely moon over Chang'an
it's too slow and longgggg
I spend more than 1 hour just hear Chang'an Chang'an
then dont play
this is main quest bro
you won't play this game long if you find that stuff boring lol and you even said that in the lore chat š¤£
yeah I just play more than 300 hours ?
it was slow paced yeah, but the stories are barely boring
most of us here played since release
if you don't understand something in that quest, just ask. That's what this chat is for.
I think 300 is a huge number. Just like you, Iāve been playing since the game's release, and this feels like a bit much
was just sharing that the current chapter feels slow and drawn-out. The previous one was much better in my opinion.
Ig they removed
was it stated why most people in kingvine village die?
