Liu Qingyi would then raise Wu Xiang Huang, aka The Void King, who was orphaned inside Gleaming Abyss. After returning from hiding 12 years later, Li Zuo finds Liu Qingyi in Gleaming Abyss.
When the village descended into ruins, Li Zuo turned Wraith village into his experiment site for Dream Puppet and immortality experiments, this occuring after Liu Qingyi dies. He took The Void King with him for a bit, before sending him back to guard Liu Qingyis resting place.
(When Uncle Jiang was escaping with us, he fought The Void King and won. Then, we fought the Void King and finished him off for good, and he recognized us as being similar to Uncle Jiang. When he sees Li Zuo, its not that he sees Li Zuo in us, but rather imagines the disappointment at having lost again)

This is mentioned as the first character story in The Void Kings profile in game, that he remembers distinctly the disappointment he saw on Li Zuo after losing his first ever fight to Jiang Wulang

If that’s just your interpretation, fine, but stating it as fact is too much.

And how would you address the scene in the trailer where Jiang Yan points his sword at the MC, who then changes into Li Zuo? Or the scene where Jiang Yan faces off against Li Zuo with the MC in his arms while they’re standing inside a room that looks like a castle?

The scene does come across that way, looking at The Void Kings past. I believe its explicitly mentioned that he saw Jiang Wulang in us too, in the character story

I’m not here going gung-ho about how the MC is Li Zuo’s kid. As I’ve said before, it’s just one possibility. Another possibility is that the MC is Wang Qing’s child. We don’t know. I’m just saying that you being so sure the MC isn’t connected to Li Zuo at all is very misguided. And you also still haven't answered what the trailers heavily implies.

I never discounted that MC and Li Zuo have some sort of connection. I'm just saying in The Void Kings case, he likely did not see us as Li Zuo considering his history with Qingyi, Li Zuo, and Jiang Wulang
In the trailer, there really isn't enough info to go off of at the moment to infer what Jiang Wulang facing off against Li Zuo could mean, unlike with the Void Kings case, where his backstory has already been fleshed out

Your free to make your theories on if MC is Li Zuo or Wang Qings child, but I just find it unlikely, when one of the main points of evidence is that the Void King sees Li Zuo in us

I still don’t buy that the Void King imagining the MC as Li Zuo is just him hallucinating Li Zuo being disappointed in him. That's such a strange way to show that as if the devs are intentionally misleading the players because let's be frank most people will jump to assume that MC and Li Zuo has very strong connection and not Void King feeling terrible about failing him again.

So far, the devs have taken a “show, don’t tell” approach, and there’s been no real sign that they’re trying to mislead the audience.

This would be a good point to make and I see where you're coming from, but I believe that in the case of WWM, they intentionally fragment the story into pieces scattered everywhere, and much of the experience is finding out the lore, and it's important to not take scenes at face value because of the wealth of lore and info that's not shown to you without actually looking for it

Most people took what the main quests told us at face value, that being Jiang Wulang betrayed Wang Qing at Zhongyuan Bridge, without understanding that it's a lot more complicated than that. They probably wouldn't know that the Aureate Pavilion was behind Wang Qings "two" deaths, who He Ran is, and why Jiang Wulang fled in the first place, or that when he first left, he went back because of his loyalty to Wang Qing, yet people still believe that he truly did betray the general

From what you’re saying, it sounds like you think I’m misunderstanding the scene with the Void King because I don’t know the lore well enough. I assure you that’s not the case. I’ve paid very close attention to the lore and the story, I completed Dark Surge and read the in-game books.

Your interpretation is that the Void King sees Li Zuo because he feels Li Zuo is disappointed in him.
My interpretation is that the developers are heavily foreshadowing a connection between the MC and Li Zuo.

I think The Void King seeing Li Zuo because he fears the disappointment at having lost once again is much more impactful emotionally than simply being used to reinstate MC and Li Zuos connection, and with many stories told in WWM, there is an emphasis on the emotional aspect
If you say there's heavy foreshadowing, there should be enough supplementary evidence of the connection between MC and Li Zuo without also reducing The Void Kings story to simply a foreshadowing of a connection between two characters thats already been established from the trailer

Us fighting The Void King and defeating him right after he gets defeated for the first time by Jiang Wulang, who's known to be connected to Li Zuo, as well as our connection to Aunt Han, basically confirms that we are at the minimum associated with Li Zuo from acquaintances alone, and us following the path our Uncle took which will eventually lead back to the main cause (Aureate) will inevitably mean that we encounter Li Zuo head on at some point

The difference is that most of her story is shown directly to you in voiced cutscenes which creates a lot more impact than just reading stories and texts from in game, but I wouldn't discount the devs intentionally going to the effort of giving Void King the backstory that he does have

Those people are the ones who the appearance change process failed for, and were left without identities essentially, with the only record left of them being the “list” that we try to find after a lead from the Nine Mortal Ways in Kaifeng

(this is one of the reasons we see Tian Ying masqueraded as a monk if I understood it correctly, it was a part of his job - he was not only an assassin, a spy, but also a blasphemer for the general good of the common people, dude had it rough)

Lucky Seventeen comes into the picture while Chai Rong was leading his armies around, they found this little orphan boy (again, fictional), who followed them around and worshipped Chai Rong

I checked the hanzi for nine mortal ways, "九流" it seems to come from an expression "three religions and nine currents" which is an expression to denote people from every class (there were 9 big classes of people)
it seems to be a derogatory term today so in English it probably means something like "all sorts of people" which also has a negative connotation to it

so I guess the sect stands for "it doesnt matter where you come from, you are welcome here"

or if you want to be meaner, it's kinda like the rabble sect

So basically, as I understand it, ||General Wang Qing and his men were sent on a suicide/extremely dangerous mission (NPC says that "somebody had to cross Zhongnan bridge"). At a critical point of the battle, He Ran receives a box from a different general (presumably from the court) that he was told contained the key to turning the tide of the battle. General Qing receives the box and sees that it has the puppet poison - and in desperation and to save his men, he sends Jiang away and takes it, using his new strength to turn the tide of the battle.

Upon returning, Jiang kills the general to prevent him from fully turning into a zombie/kills the zombified general. There's also the implication that the General specifically took the poison to save Jiang's life. ||
