to be fair ancient china way of speaking especially in wuxia genre tend to be more flowery and metaphorical when used in conversation, which would be hard to grasp if you do not understand the flow of the conversation.

Hence why a lot of ancient texts or usage of it in games tend to cause a lot of discord/arguments in the fandom due to its localization

eg: sworn brothers - a form of bond between two non-blood related people who achieved very close brotherhood, or what we can decipher as regular bosom friends/best friend in modern analogy.

i am just mentioning chinese localization in general, especially for games where the setting is set back to ancient backgrounds. Back in the days, idioms were commonly used as well in sentences and if you were to direct translate that, it wouldn't make sense as well if you don't understand the context or the meaning it's trying to convey.

That is true—but when you play a game in a setting you are not familiar with, you need to go in there knowing that there is going to be either some research you need to do or accept you might miss some cultural points.

I don't expect all players to know everything and the setting being what it is makes it harder. But this isn't the first Chinese media I have seen localized and its a bit poorly done, if I am honest. Which is a shame because the actual content is so good...

When u meet the other, there's still the option of giving the item but since it's already given to other npc there's no item available. It doesn't matter at that point
