so general knows this, and if jiang yan gets sent to save him, he'd put jiang yan in danger. So tl;dr the general chose he-ran to be the one to save him so that the weak kid dies instead of the greatest prodigy

that's why there's the whole "dying twice" thing happens and the box is hinted at being whatever is what poisoned the general

after the disappear of jiang and han, MC basically became an "orphan" and MC is leaving to find aunt han, and surely MC don't want anyone to chase after them. if everyone spread that MC has "dead" that night and MC just quitly leave qinghe as an outlander, it would not only keep MC away from potential tracking, but also protect villagers as there are maybe some spies around. prices of info in heaven's pier shows weird guests from south came to here weeks ago so Pavilion came, search and planed to attack long before the celebration.
if you ask why they know Aureate Pavilion come for han and MC. first, the pavilion does come for han for reasons that too long to be wrote at here. just from what MC know, uncle jiang and aunt han are suspicious, definatly hiding something from everyone, and MC gonna leave qinghe to find han. there are still some time between that night and MC left qinghe, so it would make sense that MC themselves or yaoyao yao or anyone else bring out this fake death idea and villagers (live here for long time and safe to trust) just do this and pretend young master has already dead.

I think the reason why the story is so enjoyable even side quests is because the MC is actually really really eager to do things, like for example in other gacha games (Genshin, obviously for example), MCs are kind of being strung along by the plot, and while they aren't necessarily against doing things they don't really have much initiative, its more like they're prompted to do something and they do it just because, but the mc here has active dialogue and will even go out of their way to go "hey, i will literally help you with whatever you got going on literally just tell me what to do. what? you're stubborn? okay let's figure out how to get you to not be stubborn" and its really immersive.. my personality is nothing like that but i still feel very in tune with the mc and its really enjoyable

yes and i think the mc is 50% of that immersion here, their personality is blank enough to where they tend to not say anything during boss cutscenes (which is lowkey funny) but in dialogue its very naturally flowing without creating a huge dissonance in the roleplaying

After the fight with the witch, aunt han saves our character and most likely just left and went to the place she were planning to move to with the family.

Yeah the stealth thing is really testing my reflexes but tbh that's what I like about it.

As for the question about the array, I don't know enough about cultivation systems to answer that question. All I really know is that if you're in a formation, find the focal point. Destroy the focal point, destroy the formation. Simple as that. I didn't even think that making an organism the focal point of a formation was even a thing in cultivation fantasy until she declared herself as such (side note, I actually kinda like that cuz with how menacing and difficult she is to fight, it really shows just how terrifying she is to think that the best way to ensure that the focal point doesn't get destroyed is to make herself the focal point. I gotta respect the ego behind that), but my best guess? The energy expenditure only goes into the initial creation of the array and the focal point serves more like a lynchpin than it does beating heart or a brain, so making herself the focal point really doesn't put that much stress on her in regards to her qi, it just means that the presence of the array relies on her being alive.

Second guess is that if it does tax her to main the formation, then she's just skilled enough in her cultivation and in arrays in general that she learned to minimize the amount of focus it takes.

As for no backlash, well that just seems to be how formations work in cultivation magic from what I've seen. It's more like an illusion than some planemeld

Wang qing died 16 years ago when the battle of zhongdu bridge happened, and thats when jiang started running away with the baby (intro of the game) because people thought he killed the general. the MC also says he's 16 years old. But theres also a dialogue in game from jiang saying to han that he found this baby outside, alone, and he had to save him. (this is probably him hiding the babys identity tho)||

He Ran delivered the box which || had some sort of poison in it that turned people into zombies/monsters, but he didnt know this at the time, he thought the box would be key to winning the battle or whatever. But Wang Qing knew something was wrong so he sent Jiang away. Wang Qing then died the first time, because he was poisoned and turned into a zombie. Jiang found out about this so he went back and had to kill the zombie Wang Qing. Theres a dialogue from the quest that says "wang qing died first at 2pm, then died at 5pm" or something like that 😂 . He Ran didnt know what happened but saw jiang kill Wang Qing, so he has hunted Jiang ever since.||

Let's put your perspective into real history.
Waterways were the fastest and most important way to transport goods, engaging in trades, etc. (to this day, it's still one of the most important, see the word "shipping").
Thus, "rivers and lakes" are where lots of artisans, merchants, tradesmen gather, meet, do businesses, etc. There's inevitably cooperation and competition, dramas and unionisation (partnerships, guilding, etc.). Y'know, standard marketplace chaos.
Wuxia writers, as a result, used this image of "rivers and lakes" to create a romantisised world (that's separated from the other setting: the court) where things happen: homelessness, begging, assassinations, prostitution, wanderers, rich businesmen, entertainers, martial artists, secret societies, sworn brotherhoods, etc. where laws imposed by the court oftentimes aren't applicable or enforced at all.
Since that's the case, people participate in this chaotic environment by "the laws of jianghu" instead of "the laws of heaven" (read: laws of the court).
Some will go by some sort of a code of honour (to help and defend the poor, to fight evil, etc.), some will not.
This game specifically, you're escaped from the court 'world' and joined the jianghu 'world'. It's a duality of society in wuxia literature that's actually rooted in reality. It does kind of exist in real life, just much less romantisised.
