Please do not use this channel for pvp
It was a mistake had this chat brought up meant to type in general chat
the heck. but wasn't here a song emperor who was captured and did farming?
This after making your own place, right? (I'm new to the game. Just finished the beta. So was wondering how that worked.)
yes, and it is a new feature which we got in China on July 25th 's summer break update
Ohhh I see, that's cool.
on paper yeah in actual it's buggy af and still not fixed
I see I see, well it just rolled out on the 25th. So, they gotta iron out more of the issues.
They should've done that before the patch was live... QA was not a thing this patch and CN players are pissed
That's strange, you'd think it would be in QA. Perhaps it was a feature that they didn't think of as high priority. And just put it in, but in turn it was an oversight that needed to be tested further.
So, after the cutscene of us burying Yi Dao
There is a stranger who passed us on the way back to the village. This guy has a unique model unlike other NPCs and did not show up anywhere else in the game
Aunt Han is known for being able to disguse people and she may have done it to hide his identity and the fact that he is still alive
this is their side by side comparison
question and I don't mind spoilers: ||is there a reason why the formless saw the white haired guy in place of the mc after you beat him? I only know th white haired guy from the trailers so far ||
They white haird guy is Emperor Ai
(Emperor Ai of Tang
The face is same as the guy who tried to stole the horse from the player in the general's shrine.
(and well, in the place where the player met Yi Dao, we saw him killed that guy
Also, I think in the earlier version, there is a book mentioning that Yi Dao's head got cut by Qianye, but later, this lore got changed
That Yi Dao only got attack from Qianye on his heart
(Also, Tian Bushou (That doctor from the living clinic, friend of Han Xiangxun) disappeared after the main story, chapter1, and he is well-known by his talent of healing the others
(The gamer can ask Yao Yaoyao(Tian Bushou's adoped kid) about where did Uncle Tian go, and she is answering that she does not know it at all)
thank you! is he connected to the main character?
That's some cope
Isn't he just the guy who stole the pendant lol
Also uh, if you talk to Yaoyao
I think she implies that the boatman who takes us to Kaifeng is uhhh
The doctor lol
That you do the lunar goddess quest with
forgot his name
no totally different guy
She talks about how he disappears often, which he does
He isn't always at the clinic
||"he"||
yea so im pretty sure bro is still alive
and taken on the identity of that dude he murdered in front of us
convinently he has chest hair where he wouldve had a scar
there's a even crazier theory that ||hong xian didnt die||
I don't think so
我记得好像助战的红线语音就是一开始她在竹隐居叫醒主角的那个
the one who takes us to kaifeng?

yep
wtf lol
His name is Feng Yi (冯Feng夷Yi, and his name is a historical reference as the figure of the Yellow River(冯Peng夷Yi), same Chinese characters with diffferent pronounce)
aka the river king
The doctor is the boatman of the Water Lady (Luoshen/ Luo Goddess) aka Han Xiangxun
I don't think so
Lunar goddess is Li Zhenzhen, she got saved by Tian Ying when she was young
Long story short version for Tian Ying & Lunar goddess (Li Zhenzhen)
||1. When she was young, the Moon Goddess was sold into a ghost marriage, but Tian Ying saved her and gave her a dagger, telling her to rely on herself to stand strong. She later became highly skilled in martial arts and never forgot the one who saved her.
2. Years later, for their “Hanging Sword” plan—to make the Khitan emissary die on Southern Tang soil—Tian Ying asked the Moon Goddess to come out of hiding to protect the Khitan envoy. Tian Ying had forgotten her, but she recognized him and agreed to help, only asking for “a pair of eyes” as payment—though she didn’t really need it, she just didn’t want to explain why she was helping for free.
3. During the mission, the Moon Goddess killed many Qinghe fighters while protecting the envoy and was eventually killed at the bottom of a lake by someone seeking revenge. She never got to travel to the Tang State with Tian Ying—by then, Tian Ying had started developing feelings for her.
4. Three years later, Tian Ying returned with the promised reward (a pair of eyes), only to learn she had long died. Still, to keep his promise, he asked Tian Bushou to replace her eyes. ||
What about the lore of 望月嫦娥?
Could of sworn that was the guy fighting with us during the burning scene. Was a dude with the sakkat, and a woman. I assumed it was him.
望月婵媛*
是的

Brief storyline for Wangyuechanyuan (望月婵媛)🌙
||Wangyue Chanyuan was once a beloved princess of the heavenly empire, raised in splendor and adored by all. Though surrounded by luxury, she chose not to remain sheltered. Instead, she left the palace to fulfill a diplomatic mission far from home—marrying into a distant land as part of a political alliance.
On her journey, she witnessed firsthand the suffering of war-torn refugees and displaced people. Deeply moved, she vowed to restore peace and bring stability to Liangzhou. Over the years, she became a symbol of strength and compassion, working tirelessly for the people. Despite the hardships and the eventual loss of her homeland and family, she continued to uphold her promise until her final breath.
Even after her passing, her memory lived on—in songs, poems, and the hearts of those she once protected.||
I was so touched by her collectible items:
||• Silk Handkerchief (泪染帕): Carried through the harsh journey, stained not with her own tears—but moved by the pain of others.||
She’s also based on a historical figure, Princess Taihe (太和公主)
How she looks like
one of the easiest fights in He Xi
did jiang yan die?
Is the Goose the real protag of the game?
||No.||
yeah. as per usual it's something like "The Demon King of Assasins reincarnates in another world as goose, finds many friends and would live the best life if not for that annoying human trying to kill him each day"
what happen to him ?
Well, to hold it short and easy
We learn at the beginning, the he is getting followed by a group of enemies. He somehow achieves to escape and find a place to hide, he then starts to act like an Dad and we are getting older and he somewhen decides to leave without talking with the MC before (more or less), he then comes back (the cutscene where we fight against someone in black), cuz he forgot to take the jade back, so the enemies at the beginning of the game is not targeting us and haunting us
But the whole story is way MORE complicated, longer and it includes several characters etc. but this should be the short-version of it
so jiang yan is the man in black in the beginning i thot its someone else
Yes
He tried to act like as someone else, so the MC is not starting to follow him
Or that the MC don't recognize him
Why Jiang decided to leave and why he is not letting us know or why he didn't came back earlier to save the city or to help us etc. is still unknown and the game will most likely continue trying to tease him
But we learn a lot of about him and his backstory by completing several quests and also through hidden items etc.
why did it have to happen 😭😭😭😭
😔
will the main character kill the witch?
We will see
the aunty will be the enemy i think
Is the boss we fight in the well near the clinic Auntie Han? Since mc referred to her as Auntie Han. I was so confused at that moment 🧐
Dumb question but do qe know what the "hidden" cave was about with the aingle hous in it?
I don't think the Heartseeker looks like Aunt Han. I think she just looks like Qianye.
He thought that it might be Auntie Han, but it was someone else
There were some hints, why the mc thought that it might be Auntie Han (voice, figure, hair etc.)
About which cave are you referring to?
I forgot the bame of the boss sadly TT she was pretty red i think and the cave entrance was kinda darkish red
Yeeees
So from my understanding of the Rong Yuan quest because she was part of a more pacifistic school of philosophy she basically plotted to sabotage the Jinming Pool to ruin the Song's plan to conquer the Yangtze and frame the main character for it?
I dont really know the story of it, but maybe @tepid cave can help u out
Are you talking about Qianye/Heartseeker?
The quest on the big battleship in Kaifeng.
Sorry I haven't done the quest yet
Agreed, need to know how the origins of the Mightiest Goose of Qinghe :3
its already released lmao, MC just has a bad childhood memory because they keep messing with the goose and got builled bad
Like released in CN version?
yes the most recent patch of the game lets you go back to childhood memories
one of them was MC trying to fish for dinner and throws a rock at goose and gets chased
I guess we have to wait then ahhh 😩
btw is yidao still alive? who's that guy with an x scar in his face
All we know is that he does have a grave, but there's still a lot of guesses surrounding it
In wuxia lore. Fake death is a trope
if there isnt immortality in this world how come after 16 years of raising us auntie han and jiang still look 20
is our surname actualy wen?
or was this a mistranslation
i didn't realize how hard the story goes until i saw the little girl die. where did aunt han go? i only play the chinese version on my phone
Did we hqve lore for the weird *** cave with the blue flowers and the single house
idk.. can anyone explain it? it looks like the boss we face there was the guy we faced in the prologue
We don’t know where Han Xiangxun is yet — it is still unfolding. In the CN version, the Kaifeng chapter ends with us traveling there to look for her, but got "scammed" and involved into something huge, only to uncover a clue instead. That’s where main storyline ends for now
there is immortality lol
Broke my heart after that scene.
I'm hoping she's alive. The horse got shot and was fully shown with a reaction. A semi visible view was only shown on the girl when she got shot. no reaction whatsoever
maybe oc will see her again all grown up
I thought the Horse was Clip-Clop
The trailer of general wang Qing includes the young Jian, so we can already see how he looked when he was still a small child
Guys pls do the side quest 生死错, you'll get more background story of Jiang yan and wang qing, but it's so sad ...
And the moon Goodness quest
And read the letters
And do not actually skip the story of Tian
The actual main character of the game
@abstract crown That quest was called 生死错, it was released during Valentine’s Day on the CN server. It tells the story of Jiang Yan’s past —
||including how General Wang Qing chose to sacrifice himself at the Battle of Zhongdu Bridge so Jiang Yan could live, introduced a new character He Ran. It also shares some of our childhood memories with Jiang Yan, like how we get a special parting tear. We wanted to bury a jar of wine at five years old, but we were pecked by a goose when doing it and ended up crying to Jiang Yan, so he secretly helped us bury the wine jar.
(ps. In ancient China, it was a tradition to bury a jar of wine when a child was young, and then dig it up to drink on their wedding day.)||
Why tf would they release it on valentine's day xDD
Chinese players enjoy shipping Jiang Yan with the main character, I guess that’s the reason🤣
Ohh that makes sense hahahh
The description definitely gives room for interpretation 👀
Yup, and also the story we have with Zhao Guangyi in Kaifeng. Probably the 2nd popular ship
isn't the MC 16... and that guy saved us when we were a baby? 💀
I thought Zheng E was popular lmfao
I have yet to discover why they ship them together pahahah, but like they ship MC with almost everyone
But especially with jiang yan
养父是不可以成为妻子的
Please be aware to put some of the more unknown lore information or quests into spoiler
This is so crazy
Do not underestimate the imagination of fujoshis
I mean wwm has a significant portion of female players base, and we love creating fan content and engaging in fandom culture. Also the same people who care about every little detail. The narrative designers wrote very detailed descriptions for many items and cutscenes gives players a lot of room for imagination and interpretation🤤
And not even one in English 💀
Yees that's so true! They draw so many beautiful fanarts and look for every small detail, I love reading through the comments because they're so funny but also very well written, we have real poets in the fanbase 😭
Still waiting for his comeback
he only used us to… 🫢 — there might still be more to his story later on
👀
Is it bad rp to have a family name at the point of character creation? I'm assuming we have some hidden family name assuming our name was given to us by our parents on the jade pendant we lose at the start
||do we have a name for our papa||
||If we can trust the theory (which is very likely, then his name is "Wang Qing" which is from the video in #game-announcement from few weeks ago||
||i am somewhat confused then as to how our surname can be wen if out father is wang qing||
forgive my ignorance im only recently looking into chinese culture and history lol
afaik he is not the real real father, but i dunno know the exact information, how it exactly happened back then
I think the game itself doesnt give that much information regarding our own backstory/birth
its all very confusing but im invested lol
im trying to decide if i give my character a surname in character creation
When does the Mc said our surname’s Wen?
in a conversation while delivering drinks to tables shortly after meeting auntie han
This is definitely a wrong translation, I just rewatched that part. The customer was asking what is the last name of the owner of Weiyang City, and the MC answered Wen
In the origin text, MC only answered “Wen”
when i asked some people who played cn they said it was similar to what they said there ; ;
Nah that’s wrong for sure, Chinese’s my first language so believe me
thank you for clarifying it didnt make sense to me at all
No worries, our MC doesn’t have an official surname. The game is deliberately designed to avoid assigning one, in order to preserve the player’s sense of immersion and so every player can have our "own MC". This is consistently reflected in the official storyline, narration, and NPC interactions. So don’t worry about the naming part—your MC’s name will simply be the given name you choose for them, nothing’s gonna influence that
Which year during the 5 dynasties and 10 kingdoms period does this game take place in?
The Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period lasted from 907 to 979 A.D. The opening scene, where the main character’s jade is taken by a stranger, takes place in 建隆三年, which is 962 A.D.
Sick, thank you!
For those who played it, how deep does it go into the history, and how historically accurate is the game in terms of armor, weapons, buildings, culture, etc?
I see
theres the odd piece of armour or clothing or such
Does it delve somewhat deep into the history?
With events and actual people
The only "historical character" i see is the song emperor
Tough
The game includes several historical characters, but most of them are mostly different than their actual irl-character due to adjusted lore of the game
You will encounter a lot of similar names/characters but you will realize that most of them are acting differently or they do have a different role in the world of WWM than in the actual history
You could maybe imagine that as some of the characters in Assassins Creed-Series
Is the ai the npcs use anything amazing? I’ve seen that you can chat with them, but does it being anything new to the gameplay aspect
Sometimes you can discover more background stories, but you won't miss anything important if you don't talk to them
If you become friends with them, they will give you gifts or you can unlock their personal stories (but only available with a few selected NPCs)
The ai although is a bit restricted, sometimes they don't know what you're talking about, but you can do roleplay with them xD
Ahaha okay so you can’t actually befriend them, and explore the world with the npcs
Noo sadly that's not possible, they will stay forever at one place but you can chat with them from anywhere
Although some NPCs have a time schedule and walk from place to place during the day night cycle, but that's another story xD
Yup would’ve been real cool, but I guess we gotta wait a couple of years before thats possible
Ah lol so they aren’t completely stationar
Oh I remember there is a feature in the Chinese version where you can have a voice chat with 2 NPCs, you can chat with them while you're exploring the world, doing boss fights etc, so you don't feel alone anymore xD
Yees that's really funny, I've seen videos where people follow the NPCs like a stalker
For example, there's harem king in Kaifeng, and he's seeing like 10 different women during day and night xD
Ahaha thats actually hilarious
So the npcs do have unique personalities, thats cool enough
Yees that makes the world so lively :)
Definitely 💯
It's rudimentary but it sorta works
The problem with the ai is the same with all LLM
They are looking for specific words/letters in a specific order
They don't remember much and they often get stuck in loops
Damn but with the game being live updated and the rapid improvements to ai, maybe they can fix that before launch
Nah it's just the usual LLM things
Ahaha alright
If I'm honest I'd much rather they just did a dialogue tree rather than LLM for them.
the language model has potential but im not sure the tech is there just yet
which dynasty happens after the current one?
- Tang Dynasty: 618–907 A.D.
- Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms: 907–979 A.D.
- Song Dynasty: 960–1279 A.D.
There is some overlap, as the Song Dynasty was founded in 960, but China wasn’t fully unified under Song rule until later.
sorry for the ping i read an earlier statement and got my answer
Afterwards, song dynasty gets conquered by the Mongolian yuan dynasty
should've continued on kaifeng..
wait. who is yidao anyway to the mc?
well he starts off as a legend you as the mc hears about in the pub you work at then becomes oh so real when you meet him from there he becomes a sort of mentor figure to you and uncle
He also knows our dear aunt
i see.. man they really went hard with the emotional hooks.. they even added one last bout with him 😭
Qianye.. may her name be forgotten forever
yea ruby yi dao and a bunch of others like the story of the mold user
If we ever meet her again, I'll drown her like I do the geese XD
well from some gameplay i saw it showed you fighting her in a burning building
...so we do meet the witch again?
id hope so
wait who's mold user
I'm not crying ..you're creing
YI DAO!
Must be raining, huh?
||I'm confident the little girl is alive||
||there was no quest from her||
||nor was there any mention from MC's regret about not giving her the food she wanted when she had the chance||
she shows up in the dreamscape
Are you referring to a new Quest in the CN-Version of the game? Cuz I cant remember this fight
not 100% sure it was one of godly wus vids
Otherwise please make sure to put the information as as spoiler every time u are referring to an CN-Lore information
✅ Sticky removed.
is it really the spirit world or was it just mc's dream?
I'm coping
What do we know about the cave with the single hut and the blue flowers?
You mean the frozen lady at the end?
If so, you can read the explanation here #📖lore-chat message
Didn’t see a frozen lady ngl xD it was after a boss fight where u could go into a cave after but the entrance was pretty small
You can also read the other comments righter under it, if you want to have more details
Oh, you mean the other quest
Do you mean the one with the deer?
There are many caves in the games xD
It was a big cave kinda demonic vibes with a single hut with no npc it kinda looked like a shrine in the entrance and I needed to kinda wiggle into it because it so many roots don’t know if this helps xD
@dapper nymph can u help me out
It's either the horror cave with the woman in red-outfit, the world-boss cave or the godness cave
In which region is the cave?
Ye, then it was the horror cave and somewhere outside is the boss-fight
With 2 phases
Yeees
Ye, I don't really know the story behind that cuz I somehow skipped this cave and boss-fight
Ah sadTT
Which horror cave?
I guess this one
Cuz the cave does include some big blue flowers which you need to shoot at them
It’s just a big *** ruined cave with big *** roots flowers and a small single hut
But you had the boss-fight with the red-figures, right?
Which should be connected to this cave above
It was not last beta but the one before soo my memories are kinda meh but I don’t remember this entrance
I just remember that there was a boss fight with a red boss and it kinda gives me evil/demonic vibes
I mean the boss I was talking about are like ghost/vampire-like, but maybe someone else knows better abt the cave
This description fits to the cave with the deer god 🤔
But honestly I have no clue either
But you needed to do something in the cave afaik
The cave had after I enter another exit where I was near a waterfall
If this helps xD
It doesn’t really looked like u needed to go to the cave imo
🤯 my brain stopped working
U needed to climb up a root and crawl into a small hole above the little shrine
XD
Mine long ago
I'm sorry I don't know :/
We need the lore-expert
Let me look at the bosses maybe I remember
@tepid cave We need your help
Bruh xD
Maybe it’s just her Home and dont have any Deep stuff but it looked really fleshed out
that in qinghe?
Whereever the boss was xD
Were you doing the boss fight in the cave or somewhere else?
Outside
It was th3 boss heartseeker
Well im still not 100% sure because my brain is gone
The cave before fighting Heartseeker is the “zombie” cave Akiro mentioned behind the doctor’s office, we walk through the zombies, pick up the flute/dizi and play it, have to try some different weapons, then trigger the Heartseeker boss fight. The cave after defeating the boss, if I remember correctly, explains why those “zombies” ended up that way. Don’t need to do anything, just walk out with the popup memory fragments
But i didnt do anything like this maybe im thinking really about something else but i didnt notice anything special on the way TT
If you remember anything else later, you have to tell us here, or we’re all just going to go crazy wondering what cave it is
I pretty much tell every thing i got into the cave thru a littlr opening where i needed to climb a little and i was already in a cave at this point
And the there was a exit where it leads me near a waterfall
That im 100%sure
Idk it was 100% a boss with a red outfit and in a open space
Did she turn white
After the fight u could go behind the arena into a cave
I think so that km not sure
U can give up its fine
[link removed]
Im pretty sure its Heartseeker
Hi
Nah, they are two persons, one of them(female) was in the cave, the another(the boss, male) is outside
I was sure that the person in the second phase was someone else
cuz they looked completely different
The one who was in the cave was called "鬼新娘" (The Ghost Bride)
and the boss was called "鬼公子" (Ghost Prince)
The person in the first phase of the boss-fight looked like an female. that why I thought that it's either the same female from the cave or someone else
Btw, he is wearing female wedding dress(in ancient Chinese culture)
And i think this is related to his lore(backstory)
Ohh okay
That makes sense
That was probably the reason why I thoughth that I fought against 2 different enemies
Do you maybe know the actual lore behind the cave and the female person?
Yea
@dapper nymph I guess it's time for us to learn something new
The ghpst prince(male, Chinese name 姜隗) had a sister (he called her 阿姐, which can be translated as big sis , *姐 means sister)
His sister was trafficked and forced to married to a ghost(in Chinese culture, it means that someone who is alive are forced to be married someone who are dead)
So he tried to dress up his sister 's clothes to look for her
Because in a dream, his sister told him to rescue the femalse who were trafficked and kill the traffickers.
So he tried to help his sister by trying to look like her, so she doesn't need to marry someone who is already dead?
He finds out that she is dead, and can't find her body, but in a dream/illusion, she told him to save other one to avoid other people from facing similar situations
I wrote one earlier about him #💬martial-pavilion message
Oh damn, looks I missed it
Thanks for the information!
Oh that's pretty sad.. I still have to do the boss fight xD
Reminds me of a scene in heaven official's blessing (which I'm reading currently)
Isn't that the opening sorry
Story*
Yeah that's right
what's the lore behind the fat bald monks?
Some of them love Tian Ying
But jokes aside, is there anything particular you want to know about them?
they look like they follow buddha but all i read about them is killing and looting. and npcs refer to them as evil spirits
who's miaoshan?
Ying zi can I be your toy
@dapper nymph
That's how tian ying is called by the believers
u don't need to put it into spoiler when the info was easily available in the beta
since I think it was
Okei bc you put that pic into spoiler xD
ye, that was my kind of humor xD
it should work as a jumpscare ... kinda
normally jumpscares are scary... but Tian Ying is the opposite of that
idk why this is in spoiler even tho I didn't select it
what's the lore behind earth fiend deity? sob always surprises me in treasure chests
Translation:
The Earth Fiend Deity was ugly, short and greedy by nature. He played to his strengths and avoided his weaknesses, and mastered the unique skill of digging holes with his hands. As a result, he was accepted by a guy called King of Heaven Du and became a leader, who robbed people on the road all year round.
The Earth Fiend Deity was greedy and extravagant, never content with the meager income from his plunder. Having heard numerous myths and legends, he particularly relished the various evil spirits, believing that their reckless behavior and harm to the people only frightened them and inspired them to offer incense and worship, a delightful experience. He also believed that the "strange figures and unusual appearances" described in his storybooks were celestial beings sent down to earth. Possessing the ability to burrow underground, he disguised himself as a land god, occupied a land temple, and forced nearby residents to offer him daily offerings, euphemistically claiming to "eliminate disasters and resolve difficulties." If anyone refused to seek his help, the Earth Fiend Deity would promptly bring disaster upon themselves. Consequently, many unruly passing merchants suffered.
The Earth Fiend Deity still feels that daily offerings are insufficient for his enjoyment, so he loves to hold religious ceremonies. A grand event not only allows him to enjoy abundant wealth, wine, and meat, but also allows him to appreciate the villagers' respect and reverence for him. Now, the Earth Fiend Deity is setting up his second religious ceremony of the month in front of the land temple he occupies, waiting for villagers and passersby to come and offer their offerings.
bro looks like some bodhittsava but is actually an azz
Okay, I maybe stupid.
But a lot of stuff confuses me. Who were those bandaged zombie people in the crypt?
Why does Auntie Han have a split personality/persona or w/e? (Is that a Wuxia thing I don't understand yet?)
I feel a lot of the game I'm just confused lol
Like who was the giant boss chick with the wooden bird? Why was she an enemy? Why did we have to kill her?
I didn't get further than that. But I was still confused who she even was lol
They made her death dramatic for no reason. Meanwhile I was like "okay... so who were you again?"
Which boss do you mean exactly
@dapper nymph
Time for lore
I'm asking the same xD
😭
- Why does the MC fight the boss “Auntie Han”?
||The 1st boss we fight with is not actually Auntie Han. It’s Qianye disguised as her, creating an illusion born from the Young Master’s inner demons. What our MC sees in his heart becomes the figure she/he faces—so the opponent only appears as Auntie Han, but in reality it’s Qianye’s trick. The 2nd boss who has split persona is also Qianye not Auntie Han, their story is still going on in Kaifeng Chapter 2, probably something to do with Auntie Han's long missing twin brother||
- Who are the “zombie people”?
||They are failed “face-changing” warriors of the Yanbei Alliance. These warriors originally belonged to the XuanJian organization, working alongside Luo Shen (Aunt Han) and Tian Bushou to reclaim the Sixteen Prefectures of Yanyun. Their plan was to erase past identities through face-changing surgery so that the warriors could infiltrate Yanyun as undercover agents. However, the process did not always succeed. Those who failed—now faceless and inhuman—chose to remain underground voluntarily, protecting the identities of their fellow agents. Their only purpose was to ensure that the undercover warriors could remain hidden until Yanyun was fully reclaimed. Historically, Yanyun was not recaptured until 1367 under Zhu Yuanzhang. That means these faceless warriors guarded the secret for nearly 400 years, fading into obscurity without names or recognition. If the MC approaches these “faceless ones” without harming them, they can be heard saying lines such as: “This child has already grown up this much… has it really been so long?”||
I have no clue who is the giant boss with the wooden bird tho👀
We fought her on a boat.
It was main story I think? 🤔
I actually can’t remember this boss
There is 1 boss in Kaifeng with a bird which u needed to shut it down with your bow
But it was afaik a giant guy
The boss before the actual main boss fight against the 3 kids
I wish I took a screenshot :(
Oh wait maybe I did? Let me look around 🤔
Awww damn I didn't :(
Dang, thanks for the explanations of 1 and 2. I was confused as well lol.
@scarlet topaz Is this the boss u was talking abt?
yes! her! (sorry for being late lol)
dam, so we have numerous baddie bosses huh
who's the bih with the fan in loading screens?
i wanna know the dude in red. i have em in my windows background and i still dunno who they are lol
That’s Rong Yuan, the story gonna be long, wait for me a bit lol
The main chapter didn’t really tell us much about her, mainly side quests will reveal more of her past since childhood
Ah I see 🤔
Rong Yuan(容鸢)’s story in brief
||Rong Yuan(容鸢)’s life began in chaos. As a baby, she lost her mother during the Later Tang’s “Tianjin Bridge Rebellion,” but survived thanks to a wooden kite her mother left behind. She was found and raised by the general Li Yun(李筠), who gave her the name Yuan.
(ps. Her name “鸢Yuan” means kites in ancient Chinese).
Li Yun lived through the turmoil of the Five Dynasties, eventually becoming a founding general of Later Zhou. But when Zhao Kuangyin seized power in the Chenqiao Mutiny (960 AD), Li Yun refused to serve the new Song dynasty. Preparing to rebel, he tried to send Yuan away under the care of his ally Murong Yanzhao(慕容延钊), who is her new adoptive father.
Li Yun never told Rong Yuan the truth—he only said, “I don’t want you to suffer with me any longer.” At the time, Rong Yuan was still young and didn’t understand. She simply thought that Li Yun no longer wanted her. At first, she still held onto hope that Li Yun—or her younger brother Li Shoujie might come looking for her. But as time passed, her heart grew colder. She poured all her energy into studying the strange mechanisms of devices. Her talent and hard work enabled her to repair the wooden kite her mother had left behind. She later discovered her mother’s ties to the Mo sect (墨山道), so decided to join to master their mechanical arts like her mom did.
Rong Yuan heard of Li Yun from a letter sent by her younger brother, Li Shoujie:
“Father self-immolated. Murong Yanzhao was credited with suppressing the rebellion.”
Harboring resentment over being sent to die while Rong Yuan was protected, Li Shoujie felt their father favored his sister Yuan. Out of spite, he exaggerated Murong Yanzhao’s role and downplayed Li Yun’s willingness to die. Misled by this, Rong Yuan believed Murong had betrayed her father to gain favor with Zhao Kuangyin, driving him to suicide.
Consumed by hatred, she could no longer accept the Mo sect’s belief in “universal love and non-aggression.” She defected to the Lu School, focused solely on perfecting her mechanical skills, determined to one day confront Murong Yanzhao in the capital. Li Shoujie later regretted not explaining the truth—but by then, it was too late.
In time, she became the artificer behind the Song’s Five-Toothed Warships(五牙大舰), even imprisoning Murong Yanzhao on board in hopes of confronting him. But when Yingying revealed the truth—that Zhao Kuangyin was the true cause of her father’s death, she realized she had been deceived for years - she had been building warships for the enemy she should have hated most.
Rong Yuan attended the Fan Tower Heroes’ Gathering with Yingying’s invitation, helping stage the Golden Chalice theft. Later, she joined Zhao Guangyi’s banquet for Tang and Shu envoys, which secretly aimed to pressure them into paying tribute through a display of naval power. Unexpectedly, Zhao struck a deal with the Shu envoy, demanding Rong Yuan hand over the Five-Toothed Warship blueprints. But she had already altered the real plans with explosives—any comparison would expose her scheme. She tried to dissuade Zhao, warning of the risks, but he refused and even sent the protagonist to steal the designs.
So when our MC was sent to steal the blueprint at Jinming Pond(金明池), Rong Yuan triggered her mechanisms during the battle, destroying the warship in flames. As her wooden kite burned, she fell into the waters as well||
oh i see. but why did we fight her in the first place? if she was an ally?
@dapper nymph
||Because Rong Yuan and Zhao Guangyi could not reach an agreement—Zhao wanted her to hand over the blueprints, we were sent by Zhao to steal them. With such opposing positions, Rong Yuan had no choice but to fight in order to protect the designs||
From what I understand she also held ||the Mohist belief that Northern Song shouldn't forcefully annex the Southern Kingdoms?||
||In WWM’s world setting, the Southern Song hasn’t arrived yet. The story is currently at the founding of the Northern Song, when Zhao Kuangyin found North Song to replace the Later Zhou. But the situation is kinda similar, Rong Yuan’s father, Li Yun, was loyal to the former dynasty (Later Zhou). Because of that, she believes the Northern Song should not have overthrown it, and she sees working for the Northern Song as an act of betrayal. I think it’s more like a matter of perspective||
Damn...such a story! 🥲
why do we fight song soldiers in this game?
at kaifeng yes, i think
ye but why tho?
isn't big zhao still a peasant here?
what's the story behind mc's impersonator? my mc caught her selling fake wine
then i encountered her the second time wearing prisoner outfit and hair and told me to stay away. what the hell did my mc do to her 💀
In the plot Big Zhao is already emperor, he just likes to dress up as a commoner and walk around kaifeng
As for why we can fight song soldiers, some say it's because mc isnt actually a supporter of the new dynasty. QingHe is still using old dynasty currency for one.
There's also sayings that soldiers at that time would just kill commoners just because 😥 it's the era where gold is worth more than humans
As for this it's kinda too long since I finished that quest sooo I can only say that the impersonator is from nine mortals sect and that he's probably just after the money, since he is selling fake wine as the fake mc 😭 the prisoner getup is probably just a guise
thanks bro i thought my mc broke her or something
i see then no guilt in farming them then
Her second phase was fun

Where should I start reading the lore from ?
If you scroll a bit here, u can find some interesting lore-information regarding several quests, but the actual lore is hidden in the actual game, which u can find from hidden letters and books etc.
but we also have several ppl here on this server who are playing the cn-version and can also answer to some of your questions
Hidden letters and books you say
looks in souls player
so it's soulslike with the lore? where you gotta kinda search for it yourself with notes/books/scrolls/etc?
thank god i'm a lore lover lol
I mean a lot of lore is also getting told by simply doing the quests and talking with the NPCs
but for example Tian's lore is getting told by obtainable stuff
so u actually need to follow the given information from the game and visit the places he was active and talk with the npcs and find the letters
i see thanks!
I will try to explain and analyze the new Song for the new Hexi-Patch for the Chinese-Version of the game
You can find the link to the song in #📺media
But be aware that the song includes some heavy Hexi-Spoilers (in the cutscenes), so you can either listen to the song in the background or don't watch it at all
The name of the song is "归舟" which means "Returning Boat", the boat which we already saw in the opening-cutscene in Hexi (from my understanding)
I will try to highlight the more important parts of the song;
First stanza:
听人讲 那故乡
有琼楼玉宇好风光
酒千觞 诗万行
让多少游子翘首望
This describes an idealized view of home: magnificent palaces (“琼楼玉宇”) and beautiful scenery. “酒千觞 诗万行” suggests a life full of enjoyment and culture (wine and poetry). So the part express the longing of travelers or exiles (“游子”) who look toward their homeland with yearning.
Second stanza:
看人间 晃啊晃
就倒映在那水中央
随晚风轻轻荡漾
无论谁 在何方
掬一捧到手上
都托起了月亮
The world is compared to a reflection in water, swaying gently with the evening breeze. Life is fleeting and ever-changing. The moon symbolizes constancy, hope, and connection: no matter where someone is, one can “hold a part of the world” in their hands, and the moon still shines as guidance.
你我不过沧海蜉蝣
就算迷失在这漫天星斗
迢遥银河中仍有
那悬天的归舟
“沧海蜉蝣” is a classical phrase meaning humans are tiny and transient in the vast universe. Even if lost in the “starry sky,” there is a “returning boat”, which is a metaphor for hope, home, and finding safety or direction.
这一程
路漫漫 莫回看
有明月照我还
再多年 再遥远
如倦鸟知返
This part tries to say abt moving forward despite a long and difficult journey, without dwelling on the past (“don’t look back”). The moon acts as a guiding light (“the moon shines to bring me back”). The metaphor “like a weary bird that returns home” reinforces the theme of natural cycles and the inevitability of returning.
On the last picture Jiang is saying;
"Why do you always look at the moon?"
"Because that's home."
thanks for this amazing breakdown!
Thanks for the kind words :)
I probably forgot to add some other stuff but it should already include most of the important stuff
||There's apparently some content going around, saying that Aunt Han's twin brother (who looks femininely beautiful) was killed by the Liang family. His body was then dissected and parts of his body were used to replace parts of the body of Liang family's precious young daughter. Yes, y'all read that right. Limbs/organs and stuff.
This precious Liang family's daughter turns out to be Qianye. This is why Qianye resembles Aunt Han so much and why the MC mis-identified Qianye as Aunt Han.
In phase 2 of Qianye's fight, you can see the relatively masculine body features of Qianye, notably the wider shoulders (which was not a common thing even for female fighters in that era of China. I.e. Aunt Han is relatively thin and slender but she's one of the deadliest fighters in that era). Also, the dual personality explains/confirms that Qianye is really a "patched up" human body incorporating both Qianye and Aunt Han's twin - the black version is the real Qianye and the white version represents Aunt Han's twin.||
Related pic, spoiler explanation below
||note the facial expressions in the picture below where the white version seems less eager to fight while the black version displays a grimacing grin||
||since Hexi's long running theme relates to the full moon, I wonder if we'll get some interesting reveal or update come mid-Autumn Festival (6th Oct, 2025). The calendar and update timeline seems to align pretty well lol. The current battlepass expires on 21st Sept (Sunday) and new battlepasses normally are launched the coming Friday (26th Sept), along with likely a larger update. Since WWM usually doesn't unlock all update content on day 1, they could be lining up for maybe a finale or a full ending on Mid-Autumn festival Monday, 6th Oct 2025.
On a side note, Mid-Autumn festival is the festival where Chinese people re-unite with their family for dinner and spend the evening, admiring the full moon together. This could also translate in-game where the MC finally wakes up from his Hexi dream and "returns home". Whether that "home" refers to returning to reality or "home" as in finding either Aunt Han/Uncle Jiang, we'll have to see how the devs write it.
Alas, the theme of Hexi and the people having no home no family to return to mirrors that of the MC having no home no family to return to.
If, and a BIG IF, WWM really decides to pull an in-game+real life mid-Autumn that would probably go down as the best timing/writing for a game of all time.||
ty for lore rumor dump
If there any lore-information from someone here which u y'all find very important to know pls lmk so i can consider pinging it to this channel
so everyone else can easily catch up with the lore
For you who have played this game does anyone have a rough idea when the game takes place during the The Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period ( 五代十國 ) I am asking out of curiosity in the lore of the world building
@hazy plover 10th century
I was asking for more precisely but thanks regardless.
I think it shows in-game what the year is when you start.
967 or about there
It's been less than a decade since the forming of the song dynasty
Thank you very much
see here for a timeline⬆️
i haven't read much of the stuff on this channel yet but I would say a good candidate to pin is anything giving historical context for the games' setting regarding the MCs loyalty to the later Zhou and that the Song dynasty has already been established in the north. This would be one message I'd recommend pinning. #📖lore-chat message
Hongxian(红线) is our MC’s childhood friend/little sister who always calls you “Boss.”
Even when you were punished by Aunt Han and forced to copy books, she would help you copy them in secret.
She’s always dreamed of venturing into the jianghu with you and becoming a heroic woman.
Say more’s going to be spoiler
More closer to a little sister imo
But yea she's an important part of the early story
I see, it seems a bit confusing because she is so young
but mc is 16
16 and can marry?
hwot
Yeah hongxian’s 10 years old, so like a younger sister who counts on you and trust you a lot
I just meant I didn't think she was a childhood friend because MC looks so much older
I mean, this is the lore-chat. For most people, this channel is spoiler territory, imo 👀
Tho yeah, they aren't subtle at all. At least it's not on general XD
it isn't people especially use the spoiler | | when talking about the lore
or part that are spoilers
🤷♀️
We want to ensure that all content that discusses something that hasn't already been shown in the game (the last beta-testing, official videos regarding the global-version etc.) is published with the appropriate spoiler tag.
In this case, however, the quest and event people are referring to were always included in the last beta tests and are also part of the initial quest. It's not an event that you only learn about or notice after 10 hours, and there are already many YouTube videos and clips where this has already been published.
If this is something you don't understand or have a different opinion regarding that, you can of course use our #📬discord-suggestions channel so we can discuss internally whether we should adjust it up further.
This has never been a problem in the past, so we usually show some tolerance in this case.
But I would like to remind everyone here, that we don't want to see any kind of spam (including gif-spams).
Please make sure to either add some kind of context to your gif or use the spoiler-tag, if you are referring to something specific which is lore-related
is there a taoist equivalent to tian ying.. because this seems ain't it
why is there a dungeon below what seems to be our home/doctor's home at the begiinnning of the game?
and who the zombies?
Did you fight the boss there?
yeah
Then
Here's the answer
I asked since above that is info about the boss and I didn't want to spoil stuff
If anybody is interested, I can try to explain/summarize the first part of Hexi
I'm listening
Well, I couldn't find enough time to actually work on the summary for the Hexi-Story, but I have a summary for the new sect in WWM and also the meaning behind the Launch-Trailer for the latest Update, thanks to @dapper nymph
I can post it later if anyone is interested
Absolutely!
Alright, some disclaimer;
The summary** includes minor spoilers** for the new Region and Story in Where Winds Meet (Chinese-Version). It's mainly about the new sect, what their background and motivation is and also indirectly about the meaning of the region and a little bit about the Launch-Trailer.
The summary and explanation might include some minor mistakes. If you should find any mistakes (lore-wise), please lmk so I can adjust it.
You can watch the launch-trailer for the most recent Patch right here; ||https://youtu.be/FZRMCAR1M0I||

The new sect is called Dao of Mo Shan (Mo Shan = Ink Mountain). The name “Mo” is strongly inspired by Mohism, an ancient Chinese philosophical school (alongside Confucianism, Daoism, and Legalism).
The central ideas are 慈爱非攻 (“Universal love and opposition to aggression”):
Universal love: The disciples and thinkers of this school believe that the evil in the land stems from selfishness. People only love themselves, their friends, and their family, but not all people. → One should help and love all people equally, regardless of social status or identity.
**
Opposition to aggression:** One should not attack others. However, if attacked, one must be able to defend oneself.
Other principles include frugality and avoiding indulgence in pleasures, since such things are not considered useful for society.
A key point is that everything should be done for the well-being of society (similar to utilitarianism). It shouldn’t only benefit oneself but all people. To help others, Mohist disciples were very active in science, technology, and mechanics. Historically, many useful inventions came from this tradition, which is also why this region in the game is portrayed as technologically advanced.
They worked on water management, planetariums, and flying devices (like kites). Where Winds Meet builds on this further with robots and other fantastical technology. In history, they also developed many defensive devices, since they needed to protect themselves.
It’s of course more advanced in the game than in the past, but still historically grounded. The Chinese already had many inventions that were far ahead of the West at the time. For the trap mechanisms in the game, the dev team even consulted historians. There are also many elements referencing ancient masks and ritual vessels, keeping everything closely tied to history.
About the actual gameplay and sect-mechanic in the game;
When you join the sect in the game, you need to complete weekly tasks to earn points. First, you visit a “professor” who invites you into the sect. Then, every week you have to do assignments and submit reports on your research progress, which are checked by your supervisor xD.
In multiplayer, your true sect membership is hidden and it’s replaced by another sect of your choice, since Dao of Mo Shan members must remain in secrecy.
Lore-wise, the sect retreated into the mountains because their knowledge and technology had advanced too far, and they feared being attacked for it.
Fun-Fact: If you get discovered, you even lose points :(
About the Launch-Trailer:
You often see water dripping onto a stone, slowly carving a groove. This represents all the inventions and records left by people in the past. Even though they weren’t complete, they still had influence.
At the end, when the droplet finally breaks through the stone and light bursts out, it symbolizes humanity’s efforts paying off: with shared knowledge, they were finally able to make a breakthrough.
After a thousand years, humanity succeeded in launching a satellite into space, which is indeed a really nice message.
And speaking of satellites: there’s the “Micius” satellite, used for quantum science experiments in real life, whose name is a reference to Mozi, the founder of Mohism xD.
Also, the NPC with the bear in a cave which some of you might already found in the beta or in the chinese-version, where u needed to help him out and where you also needed to fight against a bear at the end of the quest;
He isn’t just an NPC, he’s based on a real historical figure who invented the first gunpowder rocket.
This is the predecessor of the compass which u might saw in the trailer and the next picture shows the gunpowder
So the trailer is actually very detailed and is teasing a lot of stuff
||I was wondering how they were going to implement the creation of gunpower in the song dynasty and honestly, i'm actually quite impressed with it from a historical standpoint||
fire lance weapon when
is there any lore or stories about any mischievous characters in wwm? Id like to try roleplaying as those more
@mellow horizon give the rat sect speech

Is qianye a male?
The Game "Where Winds Meet" includes an sect which is mainly about people who are stealing and trolling other real-players. You send them fake red-letters/envelopes in the game-chat and whenever someone opens it, they're getting pranked and u boost your reputation and level within your own sect.
Other than that, the sect is very popular withint he Chinese-community and they love to spread their action across several communities and they are basically very similar to Team Rockets from Pokemon.
They call themselves as rats and yea, this is one of many chances which might wanna "roleplay"
hehe im interested
You can also learn more about the newest sect and how you could roleplay as an member of the sect (which are getting hunted by eversone else, cuz u need to move and act like someone who is not a part of the sect, otherwise u are getting followed and attacked by ppl) #📖lore-chat message

Is there a guide on how to best experience the story in order? So Im' playing in CN and after the prologue, I went straight to Kaifeng as per 1 of the main story, but realised there were some context I ended up missing
e.g.
||Yaoyao pretending to be strangers with us, rebuilding our village hinted to us she was pretending. Another one was, we know aunt Han pulled us out in the prologue, but i never knew what happened to her after? My char said we need to rescue her but what happened to her? is there another quest that tells us what happened?||
Well, technically the game gives you the option to either further investigate and explore Qinghe and learn more about the region by completing the bigger side-quests or even the smaller ones, which gives u a lot of lore-drop
You can either go and do the Quests for the World-Bosses (Tian, The general on the horse etc.) or you can go and play the Kaifeng-MSQ and learn more about the story.
Hexi is more as an big side-story which shows the MC a lot of different stories from the PoV of other characters and the whole meaning of Hexi is to show the MC that the life is not always easy and that the MC needs to find his own home, a place where he will always feel safe and can retreat and can calm down, visit his family or friends etc.
Regarding your other question;
||At the end of Hexi, we get a hint regarding Aunt Han and where she might be now. I don't wanna spoil that. At the end of the Kaifeng-Story (the one which we got later after the release), there are even more hints and information regarding Aunt Hand and some other specific organizations etc. The whole stuff regarding Aunt Han, Jiang Ying and few others are the "secrets" within the story.||
ooh got it. so all of that is locked behind Hexi. i love how random world quests will give you tons of lore and world building ||one of the exploration quest in the belltower revealed so much about Aunt Han||
Ye, the game is trying to give the players a lot of freedom and wanna reward those who actively explored the map and finished some of the side-quests
But as I said, Hexi is more as an big "filler-storyline"
With some small important scenes and also with the hint at the end
got it, i read in the CN channel that the recommendation is to go to Kaifeng until you meet that lady, then go to bujiansan and skip hexi first?
The devs once told in an interview that they designed Hexi as an entry to show their imagintion of romantic storytelling, with an original imagination how to explain the word "home" and how to develope the MC by showing the actual tragedies across the game and the region
Well, they might have their reasons giving that suggestion, but I personally don't find that you really need to follow any specific order
There might be some scenes which might give u a more "ohhh, that's the reason why x happened" or similar like that if u would follow the given order
But I personally don't find it that important tbh
That's just me
i see. okay. i personally like to leanr everything chronologically.
i love this gamee
do u love this game?
i dont love the beggar sect, sorry
Do these have a high effect on attaining gear or are they pure roleplay?
cuz i would wanna do a roleplay sect, but if i get more rewards for doing PvP id do the killer sect
Each sect has its own weekly tasks/activities, martial arts, and exclusive cosmetics or avatars that you can redeem through the sect store. For killer sect, you need to participate in PvP to rank up within the sect.
Are you only allowed to join one sect? If so are you able to change your sect at any point if you decide you don’t like the one you chose?
You’re only allowed to join one sect at a time, but you can leave and switch to another one whenever you like.
However, leaving a sect will reset your sect rank, but you get to keep all your sect currencies and the items you already redeemed.
There’s also a small penalty when leaving — usually something like having to complete a round of the battle royale mode before you can fully join a new sect again.
That said, a lot of players casually switch sects just to unlock cosmetics or outfits and then try out a different one afterward
Oooh that’s a thing you can do? I wasn’t sure you’d be able to keep the cosmetics if you left the sect! But that’s nice to know!
Do sects you join have sect uniforms/ specific clothing you can obtain?
Yes, still have to redeem in the sect store tho
I seen someone on youtube that had a black and green outfit with a oni mask
I'm sorry if it was asked before but can someone explain the rules you have to follow for each sect?
I think we have a pinged message with some information regarding that
thank u!
After leaving the sect, the things you bought will still be kept, such as clothes
rat sect 4 life
I will now post a lot of lore about the backstory of an important character who has a close relationship with Jiang;
He Ran
He Ran’s life feels like a story written in half-light; a boy whose existence was shaped not by heroism, but by quiet endurance. The first memory that defines him isn’t victory or courage, but hunger: holding tightly to half a corn bun, the other half stolen by others. He never protested, never fought back. Instead, he’d run to a deserted corner, eat quickly, and convince himself that as long as he had something — anything — survival was enough. In the laughter of the children who mocked him, who said he was only good at running away, the first outlines of his character appeared: compliance born from fear, endurance mistaken for cowardice.
That unspoken creed followed him into war. At thirteen, far too young, he became a soldier. He had no parents, no other place to go, and war didn’t ask for reasons, only obedience. When his sword first sank into an enemy’s chest, his body betrayed him. Tears fell heavier than blood as he stared into eyes filled with hatred. His trembling hand barely managed to complete its grim task, cutting an ear from the corpse, the edge so ragged it revealed not cruelty but horror. In that moment, He Ran’s humanity stood in painful contrast to the world that demanded its erasure.
In the barracks, his silence drew contempt. Other soldiers whispered over the wounded and the dead, mocking those too weak for battle, boasting that true men sought glory, not fear. They mocked the one who “couldn’t even hold a sword without shaking.” To them, courage meant brutality. Yet when they insulted General Wang Qing, something inside He Ran flickered awake. He did not defend himself when they called him worthless, but when their scorn reached the name of the General, he could no longer remain still. It wasn’t bravery that made him speak, but loyalty, fierce, misplaced, and pure. “General is General,” he said quietly, meeting his mocker’s eyes. For the first time, they saw hatred there — not the hatred of pride, but of humiliation, pain, and devotion. They called him mad, and perhaps he was.
Years earlier, He Ran and a group of orphaned children had first seen General Wang Qing ride past with his soldiers — towering horses gleaming in sunlight, formation perfect as a blade's edge. Among the trembling children, one boy had stepped forward with defiance rather than awe. That boy was Jiang Yan. With a battered wooden sword, he looked unafraid and proud, a nature unsuited to survival. But the General smiled upon him. That was the moment that divided their fates: one child chosen, one forgotten.
He Ran never stopped replaying that scene. In countless dreams, he imagined taking that step forward himself, speaking Jiang Yan’s bold words, earning that approving smile. Each night, he rewound the moment like a prayer, believing that if he moved differently, if he spoke up, maybe everything would change. His obsession wasn’t about glory; it was about belonging. Jiang Yan became everything He Ran was not — confident, reckless, loved. The General’s favorite. The son who could live in ease and indulgence, whom no one dared criticize. He Ran understood why the General loved him — Jiang Yan shone where he only faded. And yet the knowledge didn’t soften the ache. He would have given anything for a glance, for acknowledgment, even for his name to linger briefly in the General’s memory.
The soldiers said Jiang Yan was wild, a drunkard, a troublemaker. But He Ran looked beyond their gossip. He envied Jiang Yan’s nearness to the General, but more than envy, he felt reverence. He told himself he could have done better, that he would have been a perfect, obedient guard, loyal and quiet, never causing pain. He would have never defied the General, never betrayed him. Especially not killed him.
That thought cut deeper than any sword. Because one day, the impossible happened: the General was dead, and Jiang Yan was accused. He Ran’s mind couldn’t reconcile the two truths that defined him, his devotion to the General and his half-understanding of Jiang Yan, the boy he could never truly know. Logic failed where emotion ruled. Somewhere inside, he knew Jiang Yan must have had a reason. But grief doesn’t listen to reason. Grief curdles into fury. Deprived of his General, of meaning, of the last person who made him feel seen, He Ran found someone to bear the weight of his loss. Jiang Yan became that outlet, a target upon which He Ran could pour his despair until it became purpose.
Days later, blood covered his hands again, not from battle, but from vengeance. Amid the ruins of a temple, the rain fell endlessly. A severed head lay in a cloth sack at his feet. It belonged to one who had helped kill the General. He stared at his reflection in the water pooling on the stone floor, a face streaked with blood, haunted by dreams. The water mirrored both the sky’s rain and his tears. “Human tears are the rain upon the earth,” he thought, realizing that heaven mourned, too. Yet even that offered no comfort. The rain, relentless, would never allow him to finish his final dream — to see the General smile once more, to hear him call his name again.
The following part is an Interpretation from the community, which I personally really like:
Scholars later compared his story to an old proverb: the monkey reaching for the moon. The monkey sits by the water, trying to seize the moon’s reflection, only to shatter it with each failed attempt. It warns against reaching for the impossible, against exhausting oneself with illusions. He Ran was that monkey — stretching toward a love that existed only in reflection. The General was the moon: distant, beautiful, untouchable. And when He Ran tried to reach him, the reflection dissolved, leaving only ripples and regret. Even the old man in He Ran’s life had called him “a thin little monkey,” perhaps seeing, without knowing, the tragedy that would define him.
Yet perhaps, in all his pain, there was one small mercy. Before the end, there was a moment , one fleeting instant, where the moon did shine upon him. A moment when the General, gravely wounded, looked at him and truly saw him. For He Ran, who had spent his life unseen, it was enough to keep living. Enough to make dying worthwhile.
When the storm finally passed, only silence remained, the silence of a boy who had once dreamed of stepping forward, who had reached for light, and found only rain.
That's it
I didn't really include a lot of stuff from his quest and especially from the big reveal at the end of the quest. I don't want to spoil for everyone since the big reveal at the end is really huge.
Man, He Ran too much. Definitely appreciate the lore breakdowns!
When will we see He Ran again
He needs a comeback
Hello I have some questions to ask. Does Uncle Jiang appear in the story again? Not as flashback. Cause if I understand correctly, || everyone including aunt Han and MC thought he did right? Cause Dao Ge told us and that prompt the MC to get out of village and travel and then the attack on village happened||
||He’s unlikely to be dead — the person Dao Ge was referring to was Chu Qingquan, Aunt Han’s lover. Uncle Jiang hasn’t shown up again in person, but he’s still part of the story through clues and lores. Right now, he mostly acts as a narrative thread that leads the MC to new regions, like how Aunt Han’s clues led us to Kaifeng||
Ohhhhh I see. I mistakenly thought it was uncle Jiang while reading. Thanks for clearing it up. What happened to Aunt Han after the attack tho? I don't understand what happened afterwards.
Kaifeng chapter 2 only revealed some of her past story, so not yet. We still don’t know if the update after Bujianshan (不见山) map finish will be Qinling (the central mountain range dividing north and south China) or the Jiangnan water towns, since bujianshan’s still not done we might have to wait for a long time to answer your question
Jiang will most likely be an long-term plot-character so they can always make sure to make more of those "serious" story-patches
We also have the villian and his clan, Aunt Han and her past (don't want to spoil anything) and Li Yu
I could even imagine that they will use Jiang as the second Traveler/Sibling in Genshin Impact
Can anyone give me a rough idea about the story in this game? Preferably with no spoilers
Typical wuxia premise, young MC wants to go out into the martial arts world. MC was raised by a stoic martial artist who went on a journey one day and didn't return. Through a series of events happening in their town, MC decides to go out into the world to find stoic man while learning martial arts and solving issues they come across.
the overarching plot is finding stoic man, but currently, each major story releases have been quite self-contained. MC helps to solve issues wherever they go while gathering clues of stoic man
Oh so... there's bound to be cultivation in this game then? And gonna be bit meta on the how would this differentiate to the usual cultivation stories that I have seen.
uhh.. i dont think this is very diff from the usual cultivation stories? im not sure what you're looking for or expecting from this game
it's just genshin but instead of sister it's the stoic man and every town/city he goes he will solve issues
this is literally a typical wuxia story we have seen and read many times over.
||there are some xianxia elements, but we don't know how much yet. There are huge *** immortal carps who were failed cultivators, dragon bones, beast tribes etc. But we haven't seen any indication of having heavenly or demonic realms typical of the xianxia genre (e.g. Gujian 3)||
oops sorry bot
Man just to confirm it since I read the official WWM website. I can choose to be a hero in this game?
hero? what do you mean?
... 😐
single player story is very on-rails, there are no choices for the main story. You can join righteous or evil sects, but that's mostly your own headcanon and RP
yeah sorry, i dont know what you're trying to ask there. I dont think it's an issue with my english comprehension
That's what I was looking for
😂
What the heck is a cultivator? I’m new to wuxia and these type of games
In very simple terms: if you're a good taoist/buddhist and train a lot, you can use what's essentially magic
In a bit more exact terms: they're martial artists who use inner qi to accomplish great feats of strength/heal/do what basically appears to be magic in some respects (depends on the story). In WWM specifically, this means you can use qigong (basically flight), use special abilities to enhance your strength or heal other people, use acupuncture points to freeze people, and more
Sects are usually where cultivators go to learn specific techniques to that sect, i.e. jade current is the doctor sect, so their specific techniques will be more about using your qi to heal other people & use acupuncture points to treat poisons and stuff
Should mention that this definition is specific to wuxia since cultivation does have real-life basis and those people were not doing WWM stuff in someone else's general direction
Ah gotcha, thanks for the detailed explanation. Appreciate it!
I suggest you try watching Donghuas, it's a good way to understand what the wuxia world is all about ☺️
Is there demonic way/paht in the game?
Recommendations?
Are you used to seeing animation that is entirely CGI?
i dont have any strong opinions on animation style
If you don’t mind watching CGI animation, a good place to start understanding the wuxia world and how its characters evolve would be Renegade Immortal. It has great fights and sound effects. The beginning might feel a bit fast-paced, but if you’re patient, it’s just a way to move quickly into the main story.
Perfect World is also a good starting point.
To see some team PvP, I’d suggest Soul Land (Temp1). Although it’s still wuxia, the character progression differs a bit from the game, but the core concept of cultivation is still there.
They all share the same foundation of what wuxia is about: cultivating to become strong, fighting, fighting again, and staying strong. 🙂
oh i know about wuxia im a different guy i was just wanting recomendations xD
Oh! I see... So currently, my favorite is Renegade Immortal.
Another one that also has great fight scenes is Doupo Cangqiong.
Any of them are good; the only problem with starting from the first episodes now is that their quality isn’t great, since 3D software back then wasn’t as advanced as it is today.
i am fairly lenient
Please use #💬off-topic for donghua recommendations
No
what the lore so far?
Good
Yes
Not me thinking for so long "Ran? Where he ran to??"
I just finished kaifeng story and want to check my understanding since I use translation so I wasn't sure in some parts
||So MC arrive to kaifeng get scammed by Ying Ying and attend the banquet/auction hosted by Donque(?) where they are auctioning the cornucopia that give coin and then it was stolen by underworld people who we later come to know as xiao fu and her siblings and we also found out that Ying Ying was Donque(?) and she was driven out of Weiyang county(?), we rescued her and then money situation in Kaifeng got resolved. That's the gist right?
So Donque plan this whole thing to get the cornucopia stolen? How does it help with the money issue? I am sure they touch upon that point but it's lost in translation for me.
Also does the MC has plan to meet Donque cause I remember a dialogue in that pavilion that she wants to talk to her.
Also the government guy in red, was he replaced by someone else or did I misunderstand that too?||
This is rather...complicated to explain because it involves a huge conspiracy and many factions vying for different things. I will try my best but.. I might miss some stuff or misrepresent others.
||**Background of Kaifeng's crisis with coins. **
There were 2 coins circulating in Kaifeng -
*Tang coins (made from iron, easy to mass produce) and Song coins (made from bronze, expensive to manufacture). *
Southern Tang flooded Kaifeng with Tang coins to try and destabilize its economy, which kind of worked because Song was preparing for war, so they were collecting Tang coins (to smelt into weapons, I think??.
It was the period where Northern Song was planning to attack Southern Tang. Zhao Guang Yi (The gov guy in purple, younger brother to our plump brother Zhao) wanted to end the war quickly before focusing on addressing the plight of the populace, hence why the gov was collecting all the coins.
On the other side, Southern Tang hatched a conspiracy to help place Dongque back into power in Weiyang city to avoid the war. The whole pot of coin drama and theft was all planned to further this cause, they gathered all the different powers/sects, including the gov in 1 place to witness the pot of coin's "powers", BUT all the diff powers aside from the gov wanted to avoid the war in their own ways.
The coin crisis in Kaifeng was solved indirectly because Northern Song's Emperor saw first hand the suffering of Kaifeng and decided that he didn't want to go to war. Guess who's the emperor? It's Zhao Guang Yin, our very own plump Brother Zhao (he appeared in the cutscene near the end with Dongque on the floor and her famous quote "苍生无言,侠为其声". (when the masses are unable to speak, the martial heroes (侠) will be their voice"
Magistrate Shi, the guy in red robe, was revealed to be with the masked group who attacked our village. The guy in red robe was the "black cai sheng" of Weiyang. There are 2 cai sheng there, Dongque, and this Shi guy. Based on what I read in the main story, I thought both of them were in it together, but apparently, in reality, they weren't. guy in red robe's aligned with the masked group who wants to unite all the factions against Song.||
As to your question about meeting dongque ||you will find out in the chapter where you go to the unseen mountain||
Okay wow I lost so much context with the translation. Your explanation helps a lot tho
This is the next story quest or is it in the smaller quest?
Also was Donque based on real person? ||I didn't realize that the emperor that appear in the end of the cutscenes was brother Zhao||
next story quest. So the odd thing about the story arcs in Hexi and Unseen Mountain is that, Hexi is kinda like a... uhh... detour filler arc. Timeline wise, unseen Mountain's beginning starts a few days after the end of Kai Feng's
dont think dongque was based on a real person
I see I see. Thank you very much for the explanation. I was really struggling to understand the whole thing. ||So after Kaifeng is Hexi arc which is kinda a filler arc and then Unseen Mountain||
yeah, we call it filler, but it still fleshes out the world a lot. It's filler in the sense that it doesnt further the main plot of the MC.
oh you can technically skip to unseen mountain first if you want to follow the main story line. i did that too.
yeah, it should be in your quest list.
Okay thank you very much for answering
I have questions about the boss in boss fight. First one is Xiao Qi. ||Is he waiting for his master to return? Did the MC manage to convince him or sth? No right?|| Another one is General Ye. If my understanding was correct ||the city was under siege by Khitans and General Ye come but almost all citizens were dead because General refused to surrender?||
about General Ye (sorry for my bad English):
||Ye Wanshan was a general of Zhou and lived in village A. Khitan invaded village A and killed Ye's family. Ye retreated to village B. Thirteen years later, Zhou authorities decided to launch a northern expedition and take village A back, which Ye had always been waiting for. But halfway through, Zhou authorities decided to pull back. Ye got angry and thought some sacrifice may make the authorities change their mind. One day, he dressed up as a Khitan soldier and massacred village B. The poor villagers believed General Ye will save them till the end of their lives. However, the authorities didn't give a f**k even after the massacre. In the end, Ye became a monk but his soul never found peace||
For Lucky Seventeen (小十七,little seventeen)
||Xiao Shiqi (literally “Little Seventeen”) got his name because he was the 17th person following the Sixteen Heroes of Xuanjian (悬剑). He was an orphan taken in by Chai Rong (柴荣) and Wei Renpu (魏仁浦) during their journey north, and was brought back to Chunqiu Villa (春秋别馆) — the place where Chai Rong had once lived in his youth. At the time, Xiao Shiqi was clumsy and slow, often laughed at by others. But Wei Renpu believed that with patience, anyone could improve. So he taught him how to count, and eventually, Xiao Shiqi was able to keep track of how many swords he forged. When the others eventually parted ways to fulfill their own missions, Xiao Shiqi was left behind for his safety. He remained alone at the villa, forging swords day and night, waiting faithfully for “the dragon to return” — a reference to Chai Rong and the others. Wei Renpu once told him: “When you finish forging 10,000 swords, everyone will come back.” Xiao Shiqi asked, “If one sword takes a month, then 10,000 swords would take 10,000 months (~833 years)... so if I keep going, will everyone really return?” Unable to disappoint him, Wei Renpu said: “Yes.” Years later, when the player (MC) meets him, Xiao Shiqi is still forging swords — holding onto that promise. After the battle, it’s implied he may finally realize that the ones who left are never coming back. But the game leaves his ending open. We don’t know whether he chooses to stay, or finally decides to leave like the rest.||
where did he go after we beat him?
does this game end when there is anew dynasty?
Game begins after the formation of the song dynasty
And they don't historically fall for a few hundred years after so no
damn hexi ending is epic
the new story?
wraping up the story
and linking the dream together with the main story
contain quite abit of lore
Oh the new story yesterday was for hexi?
Nice I should get around doing it
Just finished one of the side quests involving the old site of Mohist Hill. It was amazing. I feel that, so far, none of the side quests have missed for me, they're all decent wuxia short stories/history/lore. I swear this game is made for me.
It feels like this game captures what wuxia means to me, as someone who consumed a lot of it many years ago and never touched it since then. You explore olden day China and its people, their lives, philosophies, all in a fantasy setting that feels otherworldly yet so familiar. The exploration of Mohism in the new CN patches have been peak gaming experience for me
@mellow horizon i'm ready to know what happened to "ugly" woman
||She kills herself at the end afaik ||
The story was about how she was once a normal person, but after an incident her face was disfigured. Since then, the whole village talks badly about her, and since then she has had to cover her face and lives alone in her own building.
The ppl in the village are even spreading hate and false-information and the children's are bullying her
At the end of the quest, you decide if you wanna be mean towards their parents and complain or if you wanna try to solve it in a different way
okay thanks so much bro for the information. i'll see if i can redeem her name when i log back in
😭
Game is asking me for chinese id to login in but i don't have any id

I’ve seen the ending cutscene, but was that the true ending of the main character’s story? Or is there still more of the plot to be uncovered in upcoming updates? Did this create a fork in the story choices?
Gonna be more in the future
the story continues with the updates think like genshit or wuwa
Where Winds Meet – Sect Overview (up to cn server nov 2025)
-
No Sect (无门无派 / Wanderer) ✅
You begin with no official sect. Skills must be learned manually or secretly copied from others. Perfect for free-spirited players who prefer full independence and exploration. -
Well of Heaven (天泉) – Sect of Justice ✅
A chivalrous sect that upholds justice and helps the poor. Wields heavy weapons. Members are expected to complete weekly good deeds, like must giving alms to beggars — unlike other sects, they don’t lose money for doing so. PvP rules are strict: you’re forbidden to fight your fellow members. If you encounter one in a duel or vendetta, the system will switch you into sumo wrestling instead. -
Nine Mortal Ways (九流门) – Trickster / Rat Sect ✅
Mischievous and street-smart. Daily tasks include pranks (e.g., fake red envelopes or team invites) to earn points. Failure may require begging to recover. To rank up, players must earn 短陌币 Coins via 叶子戏 (like poker) minigames or trade runs (buy Saturday, sell Wednesday on a high price to make profit). -
Silver Needle (青溪) – Healer Sect ✅
Focused on healing and medicine. Members are judged based on how many positive feedback ("likes") they receive from helping others. -
Velvet Shade (醉花阴) – Polyromance Sect ✅
Known for allowing multiple marriages. This sect allows forming romantic bonds with up to 6 players. However, divorcing will cost sect points. Daily tasks include writing articles for the in-game newspaper and earning likes or gifts from other players. -
Midnight Blades (三更天) – Killer Sect ✅
A PvP-focused sect. Progression and leveling up require participating in player-vs-player combat. There’s a sect-specific PvP system. Sect members can fight each other to climb ranks. To become an Elder, you have to challenge and defeat someone who currently holds that title. Once you’re an Elder, other players can challenge you to take your spot too. -
Lone Summit (孤云) – Math Sect ✅
Requires passing math tests to join. Details suggest a logical, puzzle-based or scholarly sect with intellectual entry challenges. (*Note: Can only join, no sect tasks/redeemable items available yet) -
Raging Tides (狂澜) – The Drinking Warriors ✅ [Newly Released]
A military-style sect with drinking features. Joining requires drinking 9 different types of alcohol. To rank up, you must participate in jail-break missions with fellow sect members. Daily duties include maintaining your Drunk Meter and clearing dungeons. Important: you must not be the first to leave a dungeon, or you’ll lose sect points. Over-drinking results in a sect exclusive "drunk" debuff. -
Liyuan (梨园) – Idol Sect ✅ [Newly updated this month]
Treated like an "idol" role. You can display your stage name on your profile page. Marriage is not allowed; if you’re already married, you can choose to divorce, otherwise your marriage must be hidden from the public after joining. Full outfits in sets required, no begging allowed. Public flirting (like heart gestures) can get exposed in the in-game gossip tabloid if seen. Disciples perform music and dance battles, and top performers compete in the Famed Virtuoso vote, supported by fans across the world.
Expect to also release new exclusive weapons - pipa (Chinese traditional instrument). -
Mohist Hill (墨山道) – newly released ✅
works like doing graduate research — you need to find a mentor, submit research, pass blind reviews, and publish papers weekly.
Outside the sect, disciples can disguise as other sect members to avoid being caught and forced into labor crafting Tiangong items. Other players can try to detect Mohist disciples; if exposed, they can be knocked out do labor for you (maximum 1 time/day) -
Wenjinguan (文津馆) – [Not Yet Released]
Believed to be a scholar- or book-themed sect. Lore and gameplay mechanics are still under wraps. -
Wuxingu (无心谷) – [Not Yet Released]
A mysterious sect, potentially focused on emotionless cultivation, mental discipline and poisons.
POLYGAMY SECT HAHAHAHA
Their 道 is poly romance
Just a clear way so everyone knows which sect it is
Wait how do these actual tasks work? Like if you join a sect such as mohist sect, you actually have to publish papers in the game?
Writing papers in Mohist works like a weekly task and earns you sect contribution points. If you want to be promoted within the sect, you’ll need to compete against other players.
Every disciple is expected to submit a Hundred Crafts Paper each Monday. This grants a certain amount of Research Points (研凿值), which—together with your Jianghu Reputation—determine your internal standing.
You can also earn bonus Research Points by participating in other members’ projects:
• If your disciple has a master in mohist, the master gets 25% of your paper’s weekly Research Points.
• If you co-author someone’s paper, you’ll receive 25% of their weekly paper gains.
Here’s a picture of how it looks, kinda hard to describe it in words
Oh aahah

people take the "publishing paper" very seriously, even in CN 😂
when in actuality, it's mostly just collect materials, craft stuff, do some housing, "publish" some housing blueprints to gain research points
it's really not that hard or complicated
omg, thesis
It just the tips of the iceberg
More lore to be discovered
Huge spoiler ||Seem like the 2 orphan is being discovered in the battle of zhong du bridge. Our main character which is picked up by uncle jiang and a girl which is picked up by li zhou both seem to have a special ability that allow them to “listen” to the voice of the universe including the spirit of the dead||
I'm not looking, I'm not looking! 👀
did they find clues to where the winds meet at the end?
I don't think they will meet this fast, will likely take a few years until the winds meet.
whats the importance and your relation with the baby in the beginning you aer holding?
you'll know that after you finish the main plot :)
it's gonna spoil the whole story to answer this
|| Isnt your character the baby ||
extremely happy to see that new sects are a thing. Are new weapons confirmed to be a thing? i had heard that new mystic arts are which is really nice too.
there will be new weapons and martial arts styles, yes
I wonder if you'll ever do a cross over that includes wei wuxian , would be cool to have a yi ling sect
I Heard There Is Lore To Be Found. Honestly I'm Super Excited about this Gamee.... I Hope it has a strong Western Community
Enjoyed your wuwa lore, and i look forward to your dive into the lore of this game. Lots to dive into
Awww Thanks! I am Super Hyped! This game feels like it was made for my type of content, so I hope people appreciate it 🙂
oh shi i didnt expect to see you here
👀 Hope I’m welcome.
love your wuwa stuff im excited to see the vids you drop on this game seeing how lore heavy it is, i saw your vid with rhinne the other day too about wanting more lore discussion in the wuwa community but it looks like there’ll be a lot of space for that in this game at least too lol
Appreciate you! 😁👍🏽
See you there then. 🫡
looks like 天泉 is the most straight forward
cant wait to explore the lore of the world and stream on my twitch, should be fun
Do guys see traces of Jin yongs novels in this game?
references and nods, yes. But they don't outright name them (understandably for copyright issues)
hi! would anyone have more lore on the Nine Mortal ways and the healer sect and the pvp sect?
Background of the era of Where Winds Meet is set in, a great listen before global launch. #📺media message
That’s what like to hear
Any info on the math sect?
From the looks of it I predict it's gonna be one of the best sects
Most of the sect info for lone summit is not available due to the fact they are not fully released, only the entrance exam is there. There’s so sect/specific rules and tasks for now (so can’t even redeem the uniform), we’ll have to wait for further update on it.
Do the sects give bonuses?
What bonuses are you imagining? Sects give you access to their shop that sells diff stuff like cosmetics and materials. Jade current sect supposedly can craft stronger potions. Are they very game changing? I don't think so. Sects feels more for immersion, flavour and rp. Just rmb to do the dailies to cap your weekly sect currency
How many years ago is the story?
The Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period (Chinese: 五代十國) was an era of political upheaval and division in Imperial China from 907 to 979. Five dynastic states quickly succeeded one another in the Central Plain, and more than a dozen concurrent dynastic states, collectively known as the Ten Kingdoms, were established elsewhere, mainly i...
around these years
opening scene around where you name your character starts at 962 a.d.
there are historical figures, but many of the stories revolving them are fiction
you can go in blind, but this video gives some background info for the setting and genre: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wqHKqwszhk
you definitely can
thank u
this is a great video
Love how she explained the english title "Where Winds Meet".
China has broken apart in many different kingdoms
That's all you need to know
That doesn't narrow it down lol
Wrong chat for this
Is WWM based on a novel?
It’s more like an original story created by the writing team, based on real historical events
not being based on anything means the writers have absolute freedom in writing this story and build this world, free from copyright issues
I heard the story is really good, so I am looking forward to it
Isekai? Transmigration? Classic wuxia? or modern?
nice, I love games with good writers
a lot of games with copy paste lore nowadays
wow... a channel with only 5 seconds cooldown
Is MC a character from the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms classics or modern? And then the devs just continue the story moving forward there?
WWM tells stories based on real history, it blends historical tragedy, martial world vendettas, and people’s epics in the five dynasties and ten kingdom period. (#📖lore-chat message)
Each region has both a main storyline and a hidden storyline:
• The main story focuses on MC’s adventures and the key events driving the world forward.
• The hidden story is made up of smaller plots and clues you discover while exploring, giving more background to the world and its characters.
Together, they build a world that feels alive, where every place has its own secrets and stories waiting to be found
Kinda hard to describe it, but hopes this give you a general idea
And what is our role in this catastrophic period?
To start our journey and find our uncle and aunt
if there is a sect/guild in this game, are there any types of guild? like assassin guild or just general guild?
Can we build dark sect/dark guild where we can kill people or invade players?
Brother I just linked you the post-
The sect is just lore/role playing aspect? Based on pins, it seems it has missions, so they will be rewards. So does that mean being sectless put you in disadvantage?
There’s still some items you can redeem for sectless. Just no exclusive missions stuff
And sectless also has a uniform #💬martial-pavilion message
Does being in a sect give you buffs? I mean like does it affect your playstyle? For example healer is kinda pushed towards healer sects or not
Not really, mainly just roleplay. The only thing is you can get one of the sect martial arts as soon as you joined, but there are plenty of ways to get them
Please go to #🌱beginner-questions
but is MC a custom character created by the writers/devs? But a person mentioned from the classics?
or a character they created and inserted in the story?
mc is custom because u can customize it so its an insert from devs
there's a few other fictional characters as well, not just historical
The historical background and some in-game stories are real, but the MC is a fictional character created within that setting
ah so thats how it is
Like the premise!
about the lore... are we the kid here? or are we this guy?
||The kid ||

is this sarcasm or are you serious
WHAT
offtopic but this scene reminded me of Zhao Yun who protected Liu Bei's Son
we're still without the conext of five kingdoms ten dynasties to its not off topic
3 kingdoms of wu shu and Wei? Dynasty warriors?
Yeah I know. I was kidding but they was talking about it. but like you said this is way after.
oh didn't catch that yea 😂 we don't talk about what liu bei did with his son after in fiction
five kingdoms ten dynasties
oh hahaha
Finna give my soul up for this game
does anyone wanna do chinese roleplay with me?
Only if you know a lot about Chinese culture. Can’t be doing fake Chinese RP if you aren’t cultured.
Seriously what's the answer here
You’ll know the answer when you enter the game within like 5 minutes, it’s gonna be a spoiler that ruin your game experience
Now i'm dying to know
Yayyyyy so more excited for launch
since this is tang dynasty is there a chance we're gonna meet the emperor?
Check here, #📖lore-chat message yes for song dynasty ; no for tang dynasty
Chinese Roleplay is insane
roleplay as a young master abandoned by his sect and reincarnated after being slaughter by sect elder
Is it true that cnnblsm occurred during 5 dynasties and 10 kingdoms?👀
Chinese story telling is full of angst and tragedy 🥲
imma make my story an isekai
@acoustic mantle wrong channel
bro i did not choose to give the kids the cure in her grave. did the kid/s die?
because if they died or became ugly as well, i say deserve
kinda sad the ugly woman died, though.. she wrote the ingredients for the antidote. means she still chose kindness in the end. but I'm not going to
Why is the goose powerful
Please use #💬martial-pavilion for that kind of message
This channel is mainly to discuss about the lore
Who knows
Chat, do we all agree the games discord should allow us to attempt to write the lore and see what happens
What?
Like allow people in the discord to attempt to write some game law and see what happens
If its peak possibly make it apart of the game and if its not, tweak it until it fits.
Do you mean a event, where discord-member can share their lore-ideas, so the dev-team might include it in the game?
Ye smthn like that
If so, then #📝game-suggestion might be a great place or you can also suggest a event, where you can do that
Also what is the in depth lore other than the summary in the description of the game.
Where can I find that...
And is the game based on real history based on sources on what life and china was life back then or is it guesswork?
Hexi is so trippy, Part of me don't know why I'm seeing all of this, another part of me is crying from all the bits of lore @scarlet ore ||my gosh, the coins. and the nonexistent 大历十五年. So the soldiers inthe desert got cut off from the rest of Tang and still kept going.|| 😭
based on records, artifacts etc. there are obviously fictionalized stuff, and some very minor players in ancient china (e..g only mentioned in passing in written records) get fleshed out with fictionalized takes.
An example is this coin, game basically tells you you can see it in the National Museum of China and gave a brief history of the origin of this coin.
That's what I was looking for, its mostly important as it adds to the ambience and the feels for me.
Of course there will be fictional stuff added as its a fictional world, and wuxia, xianxia, etc are fictional.
there's an encyclopedia in-game on a lot of olden day artifacts, tools, traditions etc. lots of reading to be done
it's basically a huge history lesson
im down
@north haven Stop sending the same request for your team in multiple channels. We already mentioned that #✉️share-event-links is the correct channel for that

Are Sects like factions or guilds?
Factions
Halo how do the story of this game how does it work about what is it that its about in this game the story how is it going like?
The story is perfect. it's about a story which is perfect and it does work in a perfect way
are there sage and demonic cultivation paths in this game?
Yeah its so good
Cn videos have people lamenting that they want some of those artifacts to come home too
What are the sects?
what do you think the best faction is based on your wisdom about Arda?
Realistically depends what you want to do. There's a lot of variety amongst factions so I'd give them all a read and pick the one that suits you the best
honestly I think a lot of it just depends on your playstyle and what you really want to do ingame tbh
"best" is a gameplay mechanic that does not necessarily apply when the faction/sect system is broad and offers a lot of unique social gameplay features
with well of heaven sect, does it matter if you don't use heavy weapons? like, for example, i'm planning on using the dps fan and heal umbrella for solo, so would that cause an issue or lock me out of the sect entirely or does it not matter other than for rp purposes?
It wont affect your martial art selection, just more about roleplay lore
where i can find characters code for this game ?
that's great, thanks

Please use this channel for the lore
Doesn’t matter just pick any
Please use #💬martial-pavilion
Can we make threads here?
I just wanna save all open-world letters for future reference in the lore
Best sect to start?
literally just check the first pin man
Yeah i understand it after a few seconds later, my bad.
yeah the reason I said it's a playstyle preference is because the idol minigame or polyromance of NPCs and players are literal sect options that have nothing to do with the standard faction system you're probably expecting
it's difficult to provide an answer to something like that
BRO NO WAY
Liang Xialong <Evil God of Yanyun> The dude learning from the toad
IS STRAIGHT UP THE BEAST FROM KUNG FU HUSTLE 😂 😂 😂 Bro even looks the same and has the speed quote and everything.
Crossover confirmed 😎
So how is the Idol sect appearing in game?
Good GOD I did not enjoy the rhyming guy to befriend. It took me far too long to realize I had to spin something about alcohol...
some lore folks (IRL lore or tradition) tell me what they are kneading? Rice? Rice wine?
they keep on shouting "brewing"
I guess rice wine?
is this historically accurate?
wrong channel
btw isnt this like modern terminologies?
a zomebie person looking npc keeps on talking about this
its even voiced
is there a chance that maybe there's some transimgrator or time travel in the lore?
Please use #🔍looking-for-coop-pvp
No, math is actually pretty old. The hypotenuse term is from ancient Greece. Ancient China would also have the same math concepts
We're talking over 2000 years old
yeah but this is china
iirc on this time they believed that their "central plains" is the only continent there of
Yes, it's a translation. The guy is talking in English, hypotenuse being a word used in English. China I'm sure had their own term
yeah but they dont have that term on that place
hindsight from the localization?
Yes I get what you mean. But if they had the Chinese term for hypotenuse in its place we wouldn't be able to understand it. Yes, it's localization
Hello, I would like to ask. My friends and I are playing co-op and the ping is very high, so I would like to ask.

is night asura important?
Hello, I have some questions ||What is the significance of flute? And also who is the person that we face in boss fight? MC call her aunt Han but was it illusion? Also what is the relationship between Cheng Xin and Aunt Han? Cause he implied that he knew her right?||
who exactly is cheng again?
I forgot abt him
||Qian Ye and Aunt Han has some kind of connection, which we can kinda see in the conversation in Heavens Pier. It's unknown what exactly they did together, but there are some hints about Aunt Han's backstory and this might make sense with Qian Ye and the organisation she is working for. ||
The one who can change the appearance for us
the one in the cave before the boss-fight against Heartseeker?
who is sitting on the ground
alright
Some npcs talked about them as "the ones who failed to change their face"... I guess it refers to a martial art where you change your face and bones
MAN why did they set a level cap of 20 i want to complete the story so bad
yeah lol
So that we wouldn't be able to speedrun the game on the first day. I like this because it gives players a chance to pace themselves and explore.

Not understanding shhh about the story
Is their any video that explains the story?
Dm me
they bragged about 150 hrs of content, so timegating at level 20 seems abit of a shame
Yes, but today we will be able to pick up the story again, i believe
rinse and repeat theyll timegate again😭
Me too i wanna know
They're just pacing the players so that even if you didn't start of launch day, you're not too far behind
just released so barely any content creators that are willing to delve into the lore no?
Yeah but it shouldn't be too much of a problem since there's so much to do other than the story as well
I sound like this games biggest d rider istg
Uhm yeah
imo without the main story guiding me, idek where to explore tbh, that gives me the most value
Thats fine, i prefere this than soulless haters
Ngl i just went north tbh
Realsies
I never explore with the story , what i love is mostly sidequests that most of the time bring me in unimaginable scenarios
i just got cooked by some overlevelled boss, some guys tell u to drink till u keel and u wake up in that crappy place
It makes me kinda sad when people call the game pay to win when the stuff you buy are purely cosmetic and don't change your stats
the guy on the donkey?
coping
? im not sure, the boss was some wolf lady
Can you guys please use #💬martial-pavilion
Ppl are complaining for nothing, the game is inscredible, (the sh*t is totally free) and they still find the way to talk bad abt it…
Story/boss spoiler?
who is the guys aunt? the mc just accepts everything that happens at level 20 quest
Nah i swore
Ah lol
Can someone explain the term ‘jianghu’? What does it mean in the context of the game?
Rivers and lake, the wilderness.Basically, the world that exist outside of the Emperor's law / authority. Those wandering Jianghu usually have their own code of honour, sometimes not (in xianxia)
Thanks, that helped me a lot.
Np
@mint mica @late crypt both please use #💬martial-pavilion or #🌱beginner-questions
This is the lore-channel, which should be used to talk about the lore
IF ANY possible way we get a chance to kill guang beard i am slicing him into 132 pieces and scatter him around whole the jianghu
I have been changed🗿
ok tthanks
||rest in peace KillerBlade||
what does jianghu mean?
.
hi lore peeps, how's the game story, compared to other games with good stories
the story keeps mentioning jianghu, what does that mean? is it a place or something?
It made me feel emotions, so I kinda hate it rn
if so then it's not gonna be bad, ty for sharing
it's the JUNGLE BABY
Where is the uncle have not seen him in like 4 maps the latest is the end of hexi region
Im cooked chat i was so lock in gameplay didnt really read
is Mc the guy in beginning baby
Not a single useful person in here. Im basically asking questions to air.

Yes you were the baby the uncle trained you went out to get milk for 3 years
basically the whole martial world
Usually the jianghu is the martial arts world
Anyone want to help me with wolf madien?
Man where is aunt han she didnt appear in today's main story? Is she the one that pulled us from the explosion?
After the Blind goddess side mission you can go back to the initial plate puzzle. Has anyone figured this out? Can't see the last plate pattern
You need to start from the left platform (when you stand on the activation button) and go left.
The puzzle is still active post quest. There's a locked stone box. Looks like you have to do the puzzle again to unlock it.
Yes you need to do the three rounds right. Two rounds are highlighted with gold colors and the last one just use sound. I already did it.
Oh the last one is just run left from the big platform?
thanks 🙏
how can post photo in world chat?
Okay is there a video or website retaining the lore of the game? Chinese version as well? I wanna know if uncle come back with milk
So, if I got it right, the MC is the baby from the beginning, was raised in that province/Heaven's Pier for a decade and a half, but wanted to go out into the Jianghu (outside the Emperor's Authority/Civilization) and learn Martial Arts from the Wanderers there (who I guess are some of the folks who Cultivate and become extremely powerful), and find his Uncle, who trained him before disappearing 3 years before.
I just didn't get the whole thing with Killerblade, guy got there to take a message to Auntie Han to find Jiang (the Uncle) but Auntie Han has no idea what this is all about?
Until now we don't know:
-Who are MC's Parents
-Why Jiang had to escape with the baby.
-Who was after the baby and WHY.
-Who was the guy in black.
