The pups went to the MOGA, the imaginary Museum of Google Art. They visited the Egyptian, Greek, Dinosaur, Space, and Robot exhibits. This was a fun way to experiment with adding multiple objects to a scene and making swaps to see what would happen - 12 pups, their outfits, what was on the walls/ceilings, the type of room, what was in the room itself, etc. The results were better when limiting the number of items. For example, limiting to three of these items for the Greek exhibits: a statue of Athena or Poseidon, a historical drawing of a Pegasus, and an architectural diagram of the Parthenon. I made The Stellar Beacon a science fiction news broadcast, by having NotebookLM create a short audio overview of some science fiction microfiction of mine. This is an experiment where I asked Gemini to create some sonnets on a theme of my choice, refining them by hand, and with alternating advice from Perplexity Pro and Gemini, used a synthetic voice from Eleven Labs to read one aloud (with video clips by VideoFX Veo 2) and finally generated a audio overview in NotebookLM to comment on the poems. I call this Three Sonnets on AI by AI and consent for it to be shared by Google Labs.

One last experiment that I'm particularly pleased with, but I don't know if it is particularly obviously "sharable" in "post on instragram" sort of way--I fed a very narrative focused table top RPG I designed into Notebook LM, and asked it to create characters for the setting (it did a good job following the rules, and creating rounded relatable characters with flaws and false beliefs) and then I could use NotebookLMs interactive mode to talk with the hosts about the character, for example to ask for physical description that could serve as a metaphor for the characters personality and false belief, and then feed back what the hosts said into VideoFX to bring what they were describing to life. Similarly, I could ask the hosts what the characters might do in this or that circumstance--playfully exploring in real time what what people like these characters might do in different circumstances.

What I like about this experience is that it feels like an exploration of the sort of creativity that might only exist when people get to to play interactively with AI. It's fun to have AI quickly spin up an image or a song, but fundamentally images and songs exist--but there isn't a way to playfully do a call and response exploration of a deeply grounded setting, and from moment to moment have the ability to deepen the exploration with video or sound or images.

As a game designer, it excites me because it points to the new types of interactive art we might be able to create in the future. Empowering everyone to conjure up images or music is a great first step, but I'm really excited about we can try that could never have existed without AI.

I don't know the target audience for this or what problem it's trying to solve.

At least it's not catering solely middle class white collars.

I've actually been looking hard for the next project to dedicate my energy towards for the past few weeks - haha my country may be imploding but I still have to pay bills - but this feels like a career day for robots. Almost like it's gloating about all the jobs it's going to automate away in the next decade.

So now I'm just testing what it does

A lot of the offered jobs would include a significant pay cut.
I have to add a lot of skills to get away from generics like "writer" and entry level.

Clicking job posting to see the responsibilities basically shows me the "Day in the Life" page, especially when so many postings are AI generated now.

Like one of the things I'd been meaning to do and keep forgetting to do is enroll in the Google UX Design certificate program through Coursera. This took me straight there. The summaries are what I would expect from an AI career engine. The layers of information were unexpected and very helpful.

This is the real me, early morning on a coastal backpacking trip, with sleepy eyes. 😂 I uploaded the real image to the subject and scene sections of Whisk. Then I set the style to watercolor. The generated images seem to lean towards one ethnicity or another. I was able to use Whisk in the past to create someone of mixed race, but the mixed ethnicity is not retained when re-using the image as a subject.

No need to worry! Whisk Animate is just a Text-to-Image-to-Video tool in VideoFX, and you still have full access to the Veo 2 model through it. 🙂
