idk if this is a bug, or intentional for some reason, but chips dont save when you reload a save. me and my buds had 200 chips lined up for a rainy day but when we reloaded the save cause one of my friends games were acting up, the chips were gone, and we lost the run cause we couldnt make quota

I just like distractions from the main gameplay loop I think. Idk why but vibing on gordion seeing what lady luck says really takes the sting out of the constant terror of hauling scrap in solo, especially on later moons

i have no idea if lan testing is completely synonymous with online play (i cant be bothered to pester anyone to see) but i can atleast confirm that on a clean modpack with just the casino, it works (atleast from what i can see on lanplay)

i remember when one mod crapped itself in my pack ages ago it caused casino to not spawn in until i removed it
more likely some mod they use broke in the new update

Other options could work too, like making it a random chance to appear, only appearing every-other quota, being a purchaseable thing to make it appear for that quota etc.

I was just thinking how the casino should have a configurable chance to spawn and came here to post about it only to see it being the last thing mentioned here lol. I also thought of a rare scrap item, like a key that when brought to the company building guarantees the casino spawns, and is consumed upon entering the casino. Maybe like 2-handed comically big scissors that cut a grand opening rope type thing, instead of a key. Or even just if it just required an apparatus to power up for a day, that'd be cool.

I feel like there's a lot of untapped potential with the apparatus for mods, but I'm guessing everyone is waiting for Zeekers to implement something with them... iykyk...

idk if you're still around but would you consider removing lobbycompatibility from this mod's TS dependencies, and change it to a bepinex soft dependency in your code

Lobby compat throws false positives sometimes and is generally unreliable
So it would be nice to have it as soft dependency so you don't need it in the thunderstore dependencies, but it'll be compatible if someone does have it installed

The tweaks mod adds some extra client/server RPC calls between versions, so if the client/server had a mismatch I would imagine that would cause issues.
I don't know of a more predictable way to address that beyond lobby compat.
in every case i know of, mismatch would just prevent the client from joining the lobby at all, though i might be wrong about that
it might be a good idea to confirm if your extra rpcs would prevent players from joining a lobby in somewhere like dev general

When changing diffoztweaks "plugins not to load" sometimes you need to open your profile folder and delete the cache folder

For searchability: those regexes are for undoing/reversing evaisa netcode patcher (UnityNetcodePatcher) from a post processed module/dll

Not much familiar with lethal/unity modding but reexporting the AssetBundle from 2022.3.62 didn't work first try, someone else with more experience should probably take a look at it
I only think it's bundle related because of the spam the plugin makes when it loads the bundle

works, wasn't an assetbundle issue but a matter of my decompilation not loading the patches properly and using a unique namespace instead of copying mrgrm7.LethalCasino
I'll try to sort out a way to safely require and override LethalCasino so the mod goes inert if/when the original gets updated
tried to futureproof it, not skilled enough with BepInEx and Harmony to do it right now.

there's no easy way to manually add the mod to the Thunderstore client, Thunderstore/r2modman/Gale usually take up to an hour and a half to pick up new mods from the registry

i have a few things to ask while you're still here
1: would you consider reducing the filesize? right now your bundle is one of the heaviest i have, much bigger than most moons and some interiors even, and as far as i'm aware it doesnt hotload so it's constantly loaded into ram, so would you look into reducing filesize in the future?
2: would you consider open sourcing this mod? given this update comes out after almost a year of inactivity (off by like 9 days), incase it breaks down again it would be nice to have a permissive license incase it breaks again and you don't have time to address it
For #1, we have done some reductions to the asset bundle size in the past. There is probably still some room for further reduction but I don't think it is constantly loaded into RAM - afaik Unity is smart enough to only load the assets when they are used. But I haven't tested this to confirm
For #2, we made the decision when we first released the mod to not open-source it because I've dealt with a lot of stolen content in the past with previous projects. Even with the mod being closed-source, there have been various copies uploaded to Thunderstore where someone else just changes the title and slaps their name on it. We'll probably keep it this way for now since I'm still planning to maintain it to work in any future updates. If I ever abandon it for good, I'll make it open source

as far as #1 goes ive only seen limited cases where that's true, some stuff like LLL had to introduce explicit support for hotloading on moons, cus other wise they were constantly loaded in ram. interiors and scraps are also constantly loaded afaik, so i'm not too sure what unity will and won't do

I will say, at least from my experience working on modpacks, there is most certainly a direct correlation between the total memory of mods in a modpack (not AMOUNT of mods) and how well it performs, which heavily implies they are indeed loaded into memory somewhere
Yes, ofc mods that are running code often (especially buggy or unoptimised code) will tank performance in a larger modpack
But even without any of those, simply pushing the game above a certain threshold of mods loaded into memory causes it to stutter. The amount of memory required to cause this depends on your specs. My modpack sits at around 3gb~ worth of mods, of which it starts to hurt my performance when i push above that. People on lower end systems than mine already need to disable some clientside mods to play smoothly (totalling at maybe 100mb saved or so when they do, 200mb+ if they disable suits and all).
Note that when they play variations of my pack where Casino is not included (for balance reasons, but other than that the pack is identical in mods), their performance suddenly improves massively and stuttering disappears. Thats not to say i think the mod is optimised poorly in that way, but it is to say it's because of the total memory.
Because of that, any amount of cutting down the filesize is greatly appreciated, as it helps people on lower end systems and allows your mod to fit into larger modpacks without causing issues
For reference, these are the top 11 mods in my pack in terms of memory, from largest at the top down to smallest (v72)
Starlancer is 4 high quality moons
Wesleys is 7 high quality interiors with unique gimmicks and the like
Touhou models is 100+ suits, though it is clientsided
CodeRebirth adds..uh..

then TooManyEmotes, which is also clientside
Casino stands out among them because the amount of content added vs. memory is really jarring

yeah, its proly because sell bodies adds scraps for each enemy, and each one is just....the full ass model of the creature re-imported in a t-pose or whatever 💀

I do love this mod. We need more shop mods and stuff to bring life to the company. Like add lounges, and minigames and stuff to do as a little break from the company. Like a big building called "the break room" or something

I wonder if it could be possible to set a max bet cap with scrap, like... if the scrap value is... I dunno, 1000 (Value can be changed) or so... you can't bet that scrap if it's above 1000 otherwise you'll bankrupt the place, if you got lucky.
So... basically you can only bet scrap that has a value between 1 thru 1000 if the max bet is set to 1000, if you want to bet more... use the ATM to convert it into chips or something
ok so depending on how you fixed it i can explain what happened, and how to reliably fix it, im going to assume, you reset your LC install through r2modman or you verified file integrity through, steam, if that is the case, and you are also using melon loader (which as far as im aware is required), then after running the melon loader install that breaks it, so you then need to verify file integrity on steam, this applies at any point even if you have loaded the game with mods, and confirmed they are functional, if you were to run the melon loader installer it would break.
I reinstalled the game just in case, and reinstalled r2modman completely, including removing cache from my computer. Then it worked. I think it was more a r2modman side but I'm not sure
The Double Down one actually works I was just playing. There is one called lethal casino tweaks that is supposed to make it deal like a real deck and reshuffle but it doesnt work for me it hasnt updated in a year. Do we know if anyone working on a split mod?

me and my friend are testing out the mod for the first time and i for some reason cannot properly interact with the machines, interact doesnt pop up for blackjack, wheel works only once and i cant place any bets for roulette, it lets me spin but i cant place the bet. Slots work but i can only interact with it at a specific angle, any fixes? also when i do get the interact prompt i have to walk all the way to the company squid man to get it to leave, every other interact prompt outside of the casino works fine

Maybe it was conflicitng with one of my other mods but disabling it seemed to fix my issues

Most of the casino is functioning properly, but the warning check for if LC API is installed is failing. Because it relies on a vanilla method, any other mod that uses the same method also ends up breaking, leading to far more issues than it initially seems.
For example it broke dawnlib and some functionality from their mod

cus what i thought was causing an issue, isn't being fixed by having the patch, or by turning casino off entirely
Basically lethal casino has a check for lc api when the mod loads, if it is installed it’s supposed to display a message telling the user to remove it. Somehow v81 broke that check and causes it to error, and I recently learned through Xu that when it errors using that vanilla method it causes other things like dawnlib functions to fail.

All I know is that dawnlib was breaking from the failed patch on a vanilla method that lethal casino made
i guess modlist hash checker uses a custom method then, that popup still worked without the patch

i thought since the pic u posted had the save manager involved it mightve been breaking the dawn save system and causing items from a previous save to appear in fresh ones

It probably just needs a recompile but since it’s a non essential function I made a patch to just disable it, instead of reuploading the whole mod.
then your issue is caused by a separate bug/mod conflict most likely, do you get any errors in your logs? I suggest taking that to #help-and-troubleshooting
2 errors i see are nonspecific dawn errors with lethallib and usual scrap errors mentioning coroner

the casino building doesn't render correctly in vr as of LCVR 1.5.0
the dev has a document on how to fix compatibility on their github
so not a lot of mods will work supposedly

It finally works again on the latest patch, and it comes with a hot new feature: Double Down
You can double down by hovering over the "Hit" button and pressing the bound key (default "U", hinted on-screen). It follows most of the rules of "real" Blackjack, where you will provide an extra bet (no more than your initial bet), then you'll be dealt one more card and be forced to "stand". The "double down" key can be rebound thanks to InputUtils.

Try uninstalling the v81 patch mod and seeing if it works. I was playing fine without it.
The patch mod is supposed to remove something that can cause issues. But lethal casino might need an update if it’s erroring on other things.

It's default setting for explode was 10% or 15% and if you rolled lesser than 30$, you get clicked once on your collar's pilot. If you rolled 0$ (no profit) you get clicked twice

hey guys, ive been playing with lethal casino for about 3 weeks now and it was working perfectly fine until today when one of my friends could join the lobby and the other couldnt. I was also getting this error from bepinex which i wasnt getting before:

I do have some other mods installed and so i thought that was the issue so i made a backup folder, deleted my entire bepinex folder and redowloaded it, only adding lethal casino and no other mods. However i still got this error. Could anyone give me a hand?
