Hello @everyone,
Today, I’m excited—and a little nervous—to share some news: from now on, we’ll begin communicating with you on Discord in a very different way than before.
When I was young in Korea, there were only two TV channels. Back then, we could only consume whatever the broadcasters provided. But today, with countless OTT services and platforms like YouTube, we live in an age where people can interact directly with creators and enjoy the content they truly want. I believe the game industry is also steadily moving in this direction.
For a long time, I developed games without much communication, simply hoping players would enjoy them. Sometimes that worked well, but many times I failed because I didn’t fully understand what the audience needed. That’s why I decided to begin Early Access. Still, I feel I haven’t acted consistently enough with that spirit. So now, I want to return to the basics and start fresh by engaging with you openly and joyfully.
Since gamescom 2025, the inZOI development team has been preparing for a new kind of development environment—one built on listening and reflecting. Every week, we will share videos and written notes here on Discord, showing you our raw development progress with only minimal editing. We’ll then gather your feedback and work to improve the game.
Of course, this kind of development has its risks. Just like a fried egg that loses its shape if you flip it too often, our builds may sometimes look unstable or incomplete in the short term. But if we stay focused on refining the fundamentals and truly listen to your feedback until launch, I believe we can deliver a well-balanced, finished game.
We’re newcomers in this genre, but with each build we release, we hope to grow together. We also won’t shy away from testing a few bold, experimental features.
Since English is not my first language, my replies may sometimes be delayed or sound a little awkward. And because development can get intense, there may be times I miss checking Discord right away. I ask for your understanding in advance.
From now on, I’ll share weekly progress updates here in #1387652526156808283, and the following week I’ll respond to your feedback. We’ll carefully review your input as a team, and do our best to reflect what’s possible in the development process.
And from time to time, I might also share small personal stories—about my stray cat friend, or the evening scenery here in Korea. I hope you’ll enjoy those moments too.
So, without further ado, here is our first weekly development video!
