As we near the release of the official multiplayer update for Buckshot Roulette, I wanted to update you all on a way you can play with your friends right now. The MultiPlayer mod made by @civic hull and myself is getting a big update!

The 0.3.0 update to the MultiPlayer mod is most importantly fixing three bugs related to game-breaking issues. These were really hard to track down, but I believe I’ve found them all. You should be able to have a seamless multiplayer experience with this new version!

But along with these bugfixes and other small additions is a brand new mode: Dealer Mode! Using @silk trench’s SmarterDealer mod, I’ve added the Dealer to the server to be your toughest opponent. Beat him, and you’ll earn $70K! When you face off against another player, you’ll be able to see their total earnings before challenging them.

AND! Even though I’m releasing 0.3.0 very soon, the 0.4.0 update will be coming soon as well, hopefully before the official version. This update will add wagers to the game, so you can use your Dealer-earned money and bet it against other players!

I’m excited to see what you all think of these mod updates, so please feel free to let me know! You can also ask any questions in the #│modding-chat if you’d like.

just assessing the odds and observing your items can help you locate scenarios where you have a guaranteed win

avoid using items unnecessarily

save adrenaline for key moments- it is the best item of the game

sometimes using it defensively (stealing a handsaw, even if you're not sure you'll hit) to avoid taking more damage may be the best play

Following if you shoot immediately and miss, it’s a 50/50 chance to take damage

So overall scenario 1 is a 66% chance to take damage and scenario 2 is a 50% chance

I use this strat pretty often and I think it’s funny how you are almost hedging your bets. Because normally on an even count, if you hit him then the dealer will be in a position to make a mistake and potentially shoot himself again, but if you invert, then the dealer will make mistakes when you miss but when you hit he plays optimally

If you were to just fire at the dealer immediately you'd have a 50% chance at survival
If you hit a blank however, the remaining rounds are 2 lives, 1 blank
Assuming the dealer shoots you (which in DoN, he will), it's then a 33% chance you survive after that and win

If you were to use the inverter, then fire
There is a 50% you invert a blank, and just win
Then a 50% you invert a live, miss, and then remaining rounds are 1 lives 2 blanks
In double or nothing, the dealer would fire at himself once and then fire randomly (to simplify, I'll just say he shoots you), resulting in a 66% chance you survive

I’m kind of disappointed with the way turns are handled in multiplayer. The only way to keep the initiative from load to load is to shoot yourself with the last blank. Beer and the jammer both don’t let you keep initiative
