If you want to save energy on a rock or whatever, you will need to swap it with a rock/tree/toolbox that doesn't have energy bubble already.

If I were to visit you using my train ticket, and I click on the energy bolt, it would give both you and I energy. A bubble (with my Discord profile picture) would appear on a rock/tree/toolbox at the highest point on your farm. If you want to save that, and not collect the energy right away, you will need to replace that tree/rock/toolbox with another tree/rock/toolbox.
If you don't do this, then you will not be able to store/collect future energy from when people visit your farm. If you collect it right away, you can just leave the rock/tree/toolbox in its place though. You wouldn't have to move it.

But people store energy on these items and can store tons of energy by doing this.
