It's really up to you. You can either use it now or save it for the next day/another Daily Quest as a reserve energy.

Just know that as long as you have more than 50 energy then you cannot give and get energy when you visit and help a neighbor. Only crates and random produce and coins.

usually do 25-30 with wood and stone since it's easier to keep for long without collecting
