if you're getting a black screen I would suggest ordered from easy to less easy things to try:
1 - close/reopen, like all of discord (i assume you may have already done this)
2 - toggle the hardware acceleration option, needs to be on, as long as you are playing from a PC on the app via Settings>Advanced

Best is to 5 merge, for exp and for lucky merge chance. However, if you need space, I'd like to say it should be okay, that's just my opinion

I have no idea and no data to support what I'm about to say.
But I don't think you can run out of bricks and wood unless you shovel them. The base of the game is a merge 3, so I think there must be enough resources for that. But is also important to consider that with merge 3 it takes way more time to achieve a tier, so, if you really need, I would say that merge 3 for the first two tiers is ok, but would recommend either shoveling a crop or an animal or merge 3 those.

Your progress is linked to you discord profile, so game progress must be the same between all devices as long as you are loged in the same account. Is the issue that you start from level 1 in one of the devices? If it is, close the activity or restart discord, is a bug that happens sometimes.

the black screen thing might be unrelated to the permissions thing. for your friend I would suggest ordered from easy to less easy things to try:
1 - close/reopen, like all of discord
2 - toggle the hardware acceleration option as long as you are playing from a PC on the app via Settings>Advanced
3 - clear discord cache, on PC there is a guide here: ⁠#1287943066694582346
for the permissions thing, they can try and click the feedback icon once they're back in game and it should prompt discord to ask for perms again?

Once you have enough cards to make a 3* (2* also count for this) the game stops dropping cards. The only way to get extra 3* is by getting a lucky merge.

you can finish the worker tasks by spending 5 gems. I usually leave the longer tasks for when I am about to log off the game

I don't really think the additional temporary worker is worth it, as I would rather spend the 5 gems each time i'm knocking out a longer task.. you aren't going to be on the game 24/7 to utilize the worker to its potential, and you will also likely run out of energy

so personally, i think even if you wanted to speed it up that much, the multiple 5 gem spendings you make will amount to less than the extra worker's cost

but in the end, it's really up to you and how you play the game, and also whether you have that many gems lying around

it won't expire whether on the ground or if you've collected it. your counter will just show 270/50 or something similar instead and you won't generate any energy over time 🙂
