from a coding perspective, normally you would code it that it subtracts the level cap's xp from the xp itself, not reset to 0

I would assume that but with the last update tripling the xp requirement for each level it didnt alter the current levels of people, so unless it multiplied peoples current xp by 3 (excluding progress to the next level, which was unchanged for people) i would assume it instead works on xp to the next level - perhaps coded with a switch function or something?

Does anyone know why the gold crates are worse than the bronze?

One gold crate gives usually:

• 2 or 3 tier 3 green house pieces. (requires 8 tier 1 green house pieces for each tier 3 piece)
• a purple tool box with 10 health
• I think one tier three gem (requires 8 tier 1 gems)
• 90 energy

I used to open one gold chest a day, but that's changed.
And they cost 2 gold keys, which takes 5 silver keys, needing 13 bronze keys.
But usually I get 2-3 silver keys a day, so I only need 5-8 bronze keys.
Recently I haven't been able to open gold chest per day, but we'll see.

How many bronze chests per day does it take to equal the value of a gold chest?
They cost 2 bronze so in terms of cost you get 6 bronze chests for 1 gold chest.
that's 2-3 tier 1 and 2 greenhouse pieces per chest.
That's 12 tier 1 and 2 pieces from bronze chests, being generous we can say 6 tier 1s and 2s giving the value of 1 tier 3 piece and some change.
One gold chest gives 2-3 pieces that are at least tier 3.

So at a rate of 1 gold chest per day, you're getting the value of more than it cost in terms of keys you could spend on bronze chests, and your getting the more than the value of bronze chests you could open in one day.

Although in practice you also get a couple silver chests. Does that make the difference?
Why do people not use gold chests?

it has to do with the rate at which keys and crates drop

all crates are equally as efficient for gh parts

boxes per 2 bronze keys: 298
boxes per bronze crate: 586
bronze key utilization: 51%

silver keys per key (5 merging leftover bronze keys): 0.285
boxes per 2 silver keys: 933
boxes per silver crate: 440

the simple explanation is that if u just keep opening bronze and silver boxes as soon as ur able to, u should never have to open a gold crate

only opening bronzes gives u a better reward to boxes opened ratio

gold is the best for conserving space, but once u have enough room u should be only opening bronze (and silvers with any excess keys)

Correct, animal cards are basically the easiest way to stockpile alot of gems. You can also earn gems by opening bronze/silver/gold chests.

Basically level up your crops and animals to level 2 then sit on the cards

Once you level up your production units to level 3, the extra cards from that level 3 become worth gems. So you have to build up a stock of cards before you level them up to the final one, because once it's level 3 it won't give more cards.

I'm comparing with teams behind ESO (ZOS), Conan Exiles (Funcom), Fallout76 (then Bethesda), even FFXIV (SquareEnix) is not usually that split second fast, though they do have a good reputation for being responsive.. and others.. so I'm not sure where all the hate is coming from and what happened here.

if you have a lot of trees/rocks and you want to clear them for resources (not to make space), only go up to the 5th level or so (8 mins 20) while actively playing, and do the higher levels when you're about to go offline

All comes down to energy and timing. My strategy is to 5 merge all of the energy items from crates (even the smallest ones, they all add up). Once I got some of the 270 items I spammed all of the 5 energy trees/rocks and instantly claimed them. Then started on the 10 energy. Also be sure you are not max energy before visiting someone otherwise you can't claim energy at their farm.

When it comes to timing try to start a large tree/rock before sleeping, working, or going afk. If you really want to try hard it then set phone alarms for the longer durations like 2h to get started on the next one asap.

Any way to lower the volume in game? I like the sound effects but they're often too loud and I want to still hear people in calls

Is it though? Look at how much xp you’re getting from merging crops/animals. And then look at how much xp you’re getting from just merging coins. Don’t just merge 5 everything. Merge 5 wisely.

everything tier 3+ should be merge 5. u lose 13 crates if u 3 merge from tier 1 to tier 4

then u click open chest and it will fail

it will say how many more spaces you need

so you make exactly that amount of spaces.

either by merging sth or shoveling

and then u click open, but immediately within the next 0.5 seconds u click 6 crates

exactly 6 crates. its fine to click more than 6, but anything less than 6 is bad.

the optimum play is 6 crates

real answer: person A and person B both visit each other, and since they both have <50 energy before visiting, they both get energy from the visit

i believe that if either player has 50+ energy than neither player gets the energy, which is why people do that
