The consequences were likely the same if not worse he took himself out because he still has the choice to go in his own way
Because it shows the cruelty of the Empire and the irony
while also keeping an open end to the character for the future
The top dog of the ISB getting sent to the same place Andor was meant to die
By the same system she was fighting for
Oh no guys they're totally setting up the Dedra show
you know what filoni is like
Her last scene was about as close to showing her die without showing her die
She is at the death prison putting her hands over her face as the lights fade on her
It's about as basic visual storytelling as you can get
hey remember in 2003 clone wars where anakin knocks ventress off the top of the temple on yavin 4 and we never see her in the show again?
shes dead right?
Her not dying here would undo everything the ending of Andor was building up
They don't need to show her actually dying because the writers have faith that the audience can put basic logic together looks like they were wrong
I dont think the confirmation of her death is a given but like
There's no purpose to her survival when she's proven herself to lick that boot even right before it kicked her face
She has next to no redeeming qualities necessitating her survival
recongizable face in dave filonis heir to the empire movie
From a storytelling pov she is dead
Either way it doesn't matter because they'll just retcon whatever they do in the Manny Both-Hands Andor sequel show
Absolute legend retconning rebels and the dumb prequel comic
not a retcon if you're not changing the previous material
She stepped onto the floor on the first day
HE SAID THE THING
Now I assume Star wars is going to go downhill again for the next 5 years until we get some random decent project out of nowhere
cringe soy filoni
"I retconned the kanan comic for no reason, there was no reason for kanan to be in this bad batch episode other than I wanted him to be, its all myths and fables and stories anyway!"
chad based gilroy
"yeah I retconned the K2S0 comic, and?"
how dare a show actually close up loose ends instead of leaving the fates of everyone ambiguous
Remember when everyone said Filoni was going to retcon the sequels
the filoni vs KK civil war
Guys it's all KKs fault
Lucasfilm civil war !!!!!!!!
It's WAR
guys... what if... kathleen kennedy is the good guy
me when it turns out the lucasfilm civil war is actually real and KK is the good guy
darth filoni and his master lord favreau
Ahsoka season 2 guys!!?
Star wars saved
Filoni new president

Ahsoka season 8
Clone Wars 2

War! The Mandoverse is crumbling
under attacks by the ruthless
Sith Lord, Count Kathleen.
There is clickbait on both sides.
Grifters are everywhere.
In a stunning move, the
fiendish Disney leader, General
J.J. , has swept into the
Lucasfilm Studio and kidnapped
Chancellor Filoni, leader of
the Retcon Senate.
hype up and glaze a mediocre clone wars season as the best thing ever
give filoni a massive ego and make lucasfilm thinl he's the one who should be lead creative etc
get ahsokaslop as a result
Biggest drop in viewership in Star wars history
I was praying those leaks weren't true
ahsoka or mando movie
Ahsoka while it was coming out
oh i see
This isn't Filoni though
Well the show never implies that she died
Which one
What happened?
Omg
He did another video on Andor
It's about all the troll comments šš
BAHAHAHAHA
"I'm never covering Andor again š¶"
@rare jolt in terms of the dedra conversation, it's meant to be a parallel to kino too. So it's designed to be ambiguous like you say because her story is now defunct. To cover her would be wasted time
Bro cracked harder than an egg shell when he made that video lmao
Of the United States not just Lucasfilm
The bell curve goes āTHERE IS A LUCASFILM CIVIL WAR BETWEEN FILONI/FAVREAU AND KATHLEEN KENNEDYā to āthere is no Lucasfilm civil war, youāre being overdramatic, they all work together to make SWā to āthere is a Lucasfilm civil war and Kathleen Kennedy is the heroā
Exactly šÆ
WE ARE THE GHOR
THE GALAXY IS WATCHING
WE ARE THE BATTLEFRONT FANS
THE GAMING WORLD IS WATCHING
DEEP. SUBSTRATE. FOLIATED. KALKITE
THE AMOUNT OF TIME THAT WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS GRUBBY LITTLE ROCK IS HONESTLY ASTONISHING
I posted this in #star-wars already but I like how most of the imperial troops in Andor are just regular army troopers or ISB soldiers and stormtroopers are actually treated as elite units
ya me too
it makes me realize that their facelessness is so powerful for storytelling
in the movies, not having a face makes them easy cannon fodder so we dont sympathize with them
but here, it makes them scary and completely uniform, like youāre dealing with a brick wall who wonāt hesitate to shoot you
I loved his delivery on this you can tell he's spent years working on this material, he says it with so much hatred
I only saw the first minute, but that was enough to understand the entire video. š
RiP Bozo

SWT ahh vader
āI can excuse murder, torture, slavery, and genocide but I draw the line at saā
Guess heās going to be living with that quote for the rest of his YT career
Alongside bricks and screws
just realized that all the infighting with the maya pei brigade and saw not wanting to work with anyone else actually reflects the infighting of the star wars fandom about stupid shit like the sequels and rebels
bravo, gilroy! bravo!
Wait someone actually said that
Who
SWT when he made that comment about Vader not approving of SA
Lmao
He's going to do a full rebrand
Tbh I think this was a last attempt of engagement because his views were low
Baited nobody award
Idk hes been the center of convo for a while
Idk as far as I see the conversation is mostly just āhow dumb is that guyā
The rating on that question grows with every time he runs his mouth lmao
I cannot wait to see rebel comander 8 that was in the background for 7 frames in ROTJ make a cameo š
Crazy how ghorman was an inside job
Finally finished andor it was about as good as I thought it would be
I once again hate the Empire even more now
itās not really unreasonable to assume Dedra is considering suicide at that point considering her boyfriend is dead and any ambitions she had of greatness were crushed basically because she was doing her job
Idk though
So they making a Mothma show or what

Manny Both-Hands is next
was watching a scene again and i have to appreciate how cool it is to see Imperial Senate guards
feels like one of the smoothest prequel to ot designs
i mean theyāre just army officers with blue shirts
I wish they looked more unique but yeah
I think thereās two ways to look at this.
First, out of universe, Andor proves itās not afraid to change visuals of existing things somewhat to fit the themes. The changes in architecture especially within the senate are a great example of this. I think maybe the traditional blue guards were way too extravagant, almost placing more apparent authority into the Senate than would exist by that time. Also, there is a certain uniformity in the upper echelons of the empire that lend to its image, so having a security outfit that doesnāt quite fit that would break that conformity which I think is purposeful.
In universe, I think there is good reason to assume there would be a split in the old senate guard as the emperor consolidates power to rearrange them around himself (as the emperors guard), while putting the ever-weakening senate under the protection of the now fully centralized military. Prior to the formation of the GAR, the senate guard was likely prestigious and voluntary (someone could lore check this?) but by the time of the empire they likely had access to far more (and cheaper) security through the military.
yeah idk about alldat I just think it would be cool if they had blue armor instead of black armor or like the Senate logo on their shit or something
You raise some insightful observations about the visual and thematic evolution of the Star Wars universe, particularly in "Andor." The way the series reinterprets elements from the broader franchise really allows for a deeper understanding of the narrative and historical layers at play. Out of universe, I agree that "Andor" makes bold decisions to redefine familiar aesthetics to fit its more grounded themes. The evolution of the Senate's architecture and the guards' uniforms serves as a reflection of the Empire's tightening grip on power. The switch from the extravagant blue guards to a more muted and uniform appearance elegantly underscores how the grandeur of the old Republic is in decline. This visual shift helps convey the message that the Senate, which once held significant power and prestige, is now a mere shadow of its former self, stripped of its authority and bearing the weight of an oppressive regime. In-universe, your point regarding the potential fragmentation of the Senate Guard is quite compelling. As the Emperor consolidates his power, it makes sense that the traditional role of the Senate Guard would diminish, giving way to a more military-oriented security force aligned directly with the Empire's needs. The transition from a prestigious, potentially voluntary guard to a more utilitarian military presence reflects not only the shift in political power but also the changing nature of governance under the Empire. The Galactic Armyās efficiency and larger scale allow for cheaper and more reliable security, which fits the Empire's bureaucratic and centralized military structure. Moreover, considering the lore, the Senate Guard's evolution parallels the broader themes of control and authority present throughout "Andor." The narrative illustrates how institutions adapt to the changing tides of power, portraying a realistic shift in societal norms and security structures within the galaxy.
People really replying with AI
This is really good, I highly recommend it if you just finished Andor S2 recently
Takes out some dumb shit like cantina lads and Bor gullet
Less necessary characterisation like for bodhi
The rescore is soooo good, edited really well and truly makes a difference in some scenes
Feels a lot more like Andor & Jyn rather than Jyn & Co
It's almost like the first 2/3 of Rogue One sucks
Iāve yet to go back and rewatch, but Iāve heard the biggest issue is that Andorās actor is so familiar and comfortable with his characters by end of Andor S2 that the less developed character in Rogue One is kinda jarring
It is a bit, but the fanedit seeks to help that a bit. All that remains is Diego clearly isn't in to his acting grove with that character yet
I rewatched after the second last arc. It definitely seems that way.
this was made off of season 1, right? iād love someone to make one now that has the opening scene be ring of kafrene rather than young jyn
like maybe make the flashbacks occur as cassian meets jyn rather than as we the audience meet her
Nah it's lead directly in to from S2
P sure the editing ends up making the S2 ending beats really relevant
The stuff Gilroy clearly worked backwards from
oooh gotcha
Gotta watch that final "episode" of the edit. It ends right as Jyn tried to convince the council (great build up from S2) and Cassian basically gets the rag tags to join in, people who did terrible things for the rebellion (great buildup from S2)
just got the edit, i'll probably watch tonight
I'm currently rewatching Andor. This might be a good alternative to finish since I've watched Rogue One recently.
I just finished 2x9 and Gilroy really just said āokay Cassian, thatās enough of that wife (Bix) now hereās your new wife (K-2SO)ā
But for real, I enjoy how Bix didnāt want to have an adult conversation about Cassianās priorities in life so badly that she up and vanished from her one human connection left in the galaxy forever. Iconic.
Not one more second of mansplaining, she said, maker I beg of you
What in the fuck is that description leave Eckharts alone
itās knights of melvin be so fr
I know it's all on me
Dr Doom wannabe
I hope the rest of that āTony Gilroy Confirmsā is āthis is a load of barnaclesā
Wait I just realized that Saw's base in Andor S2 was the same base as the Resistance used
So Leia used an old rebel base for both planets because the First Order wouldn't know about them
So Tony Gilroy interacted with the Sequels to make them better
We should all write Gilroy a letter of apology for having to interact with the sequels
Gilroy don't care
He said he likes how Disney has an expanse of content with different genres and tones
Very common Gilroy W
He is a wiser man than me
Isn't it ironic that the quality of the Mandolorian got worse the closer it got to the sequels
And you all thought they were going to retcon them
I know nothing of the new seasons of Mando other than one scene I saw out of context where he was bullying B2 battle droids
Good
I watched my screen through the tears sobbing "You leave that little guy alone"
the little guy was like 7ft tall and made of metal but it was mean regardless
does anyone know what the name of the music during Dreena's distress call in ep 8 is?
I'd fall for that too
Synthetic Kalkite
Deep. Substrate. Foliated. Kalkite.

I mean, the amount of time spent pondering this grubby little rock is sadly astonishing
You know
Iāve seen a lot of super weapons
Some good
Some bad
I gotta say
This new one weāre developing
The Death Star
Beautiful name isnāt it, I picked it myself
Itās a great weapon
This is the most powerful thing in the galaxy
And it turns outā¦āØspidersāØare not the most unique thing in Ghorman
Itās beautiful really
Weāre gonna bring so much peace to the galaxy
Youāre gonna get tired of peace
Thatās something crooked Mon and her rebel lobby wouldnāt understand
THEYRE EATING THE SPIDERS
THEYRE EATING THE LOTHCATS
Thanks! That piece was heart-wrenching! Now I can listen to it on repeat! š
The delivery of that was hilarious.
Palpatine should've stood up at the senate after Mon Mothma's speech on the Ghorman genocide and said "what a NASTY question, absolutely ridiculous, CROOKED MOTHMA strikes again"
We have the biggest empire, the best empire really. Such a beautiful community. The Naboo people love me and I love them
āYou know, Iām originally from Naboo. I am. Not a lot of people know that. They think they know me, they pretend to know me, but they donāt. You ask them, āWhere is Lord Palpatine from?ā and they say Hosnian Prime, they say Chandrila, they even say Alderaan! But no, Iām from Naboo. Donāt let the woke Rebel Alliance make you forget that.ā
Iām being real
Darth vader shows up and 1v1s andor
So actually Ysanne Isard shows up in one of the episodes played by Tilda Swinton, whoās a very major character in the legends timeline, being Director of Imperial Intelligence, and she even temporarily ruled the Empire after Palpatineās death. In the show sheās a Lieutenant Colonel for Intelligence and has a meeting with Partagaz discussing operations on Ghorman. Thatās her only appearance but Iām sure many fans of the old canon appreciated the appearance
I think itās a great scene especially because in older lore the ISB and Imperial Intelligence never got along well, and you can see that very clearly in the show when Partagaz and Isard are arguing over Imperial Army troop deployments. Partagaz eventually does win the argument of course, since heās being backed by Director Krennic, but was a very good scene for seeing more of the dysfunction of the Imperial system
interesting
So thatās a no
this isnt the type of show for cameos
this is the show you watch if you want to watch a prestige television with amazing dialogue and compelling storytelling
but itās in star wars
I think Andor got the ugliest cry out of me
Of any show
Right at the end
God what a fucking masterpiece
And can I just say K-2SO waking up Cassian
Was the most adorable thing Iāve ever witnessed
It was so beautiful
Kleya waking up to the sunrise
the dialogue in this show is peak
I'm rewatching bits of ep 8
one line that hits hard is "Silent? We'll be silent when we're dead."
fkin brilliant writing š š š
It really is
I love every luthen scene
I really hate when people have different opinions
Andor is peak and I don't wanna hear anything else
a majority of the people who don't like it just say it's boring
like be creative with your criticisms at the least
wow. The ending of episode 8 is something else. I get a bit teary every time.
and then ep 9 was super tense
I was supposed to be noting down scenes for an edit when rewatching it yesterday
Yeah "boring" is not really a proper criticism for anything
and I completely forgot to because I was so caught up in it
how on earth was that episode an hour?
I was thinking to myself while watching episode 8 that it the ending scene should be with eedy karn
And it was
I'm a genius
There was quite alot of dialogue in it
I donāt trust people who say itās boring arenāt just half paying attention with their phones in their faces while they āwatchā the show
I wouldn't be surprised
When I talked abt the cameos
Why didnāt yāall just say director krennic
I didnāt know he was in this
You thought the rogue one prequel wouldnt have Krennic in it?
Only in S2
because it isn't a cameo like in Ahsoka
he actually has a purpose in the narrative
That's for sure
cameos are for minor characters in the narrative
krennic is important to the story
meaning heās not a cameo, heās just a character
thats like saying āluke made a cameo in the last jediā
Who up right now Foliating they Kalkite til they Substrate šššš āØ
Not watching Andor is a crime, you will be reported to the nearest Imperial Security Officer as a Rebel sympathizer and promptly sentenced under the Public Order Resentencing Directive.
This man is clearly a rebel terrorist
outside agitator
100 years
and that's being generous
good
I'm not one to do these kind of things (especially as I'm gearing up new videos for the channel after a long winter), but Andor has been on my mind too much since it ended, so I did this just for fun. The weird thing is that it fit way more than I expected, so I decided to share with the rest of the internet as well.
Track used: Past/Present/Fu...
openly weeping in the middle of my workday
As much as I do like the Andor theme... that "Your Father Would Be Proud" OST hits waaaaay different lol
@restive ridge
the children yearn for YTPs
I wish he said āSpiders ARE the most interesting thing in Ghormanā
Im sure Filoni wants to keep Andor as far away from animation slop as possible so people don't realize how bad his writing is
filoni barely working on animation now
Dive back into the gritty world of the rebellion with the Honest Trailer for Andor Season 2! Is it slow, serious, and concerned with the minutia of revolutionary space logistics? Yes and that's why we love it. Buckle up for an uncharacteristically positive look at the latest Star Wars project, because in Tony Gilroy we trust.
Let us know in the...
You're not wrong
Tbh, I've seen a better version of this.
If that is the video I'm thinking of.
I saw this on reddit and this might be the worst take on Mon mothma ever
sheās literally an OG founder of a revolutionary movement
I think the "if only in tiny steps" line was my favourite
Remember when Padme and Mon and Bail started planning to fight against Palpatine before the Empire even began
Tbf that was a deleted scene
Which is a bit disappointing
That was?
I did like it
Fuck
Yeah sadly
Whatever point still stands
Mon is only a centrist fencesitter if you compare her to Luthen or Saw
She was pretending to be Liberal politician
In a way she has a different bravery than either of them, being willing to expose herself to the whims of the Empire for so long
Shit Vader was talking about overthrowing Palatine before he even got the fucking suit š¤£
Mon is so good at pretending to be useless that people with all the information actually think sheās useless
Tbf she was doing quite a bit of work
Just never got anywhere really
Her work literally was the bedrock of the Rebel Alliance
Her work in the senate I mean*
Yeah palpatine had total control
Saw, Andor, Draven, Leia, Luke, Han, Chewie, the Ghost Crew; none of them ever get past their little fronts of rebellion and unite without her
Luthen too
She was a good leader with actual political expertise
she also blew a guy up once
He probably deserved it
When was that
mask of fear
also the explosion was like, right next to her
so she had to get her stomach replaced
(not making this up)
Pffft you forgot George cut out anything of PadmƩ actually doing something
Just crying wife status
He had too or else he knew Padme would come sprinting out of that ship on Mustafar with the steel chair
I think George was trying to get sympathy points and show how evil Anakin was now by "Oh god oh jeebs he's choking a defenseless woman and then DIES of a broken heart" but it's just bad character writing
That entire sequence is a nightmare
Nah it's because he filmed way too much stuff as he had to fit it all in the last movie instead of actually properly pacing out the timeline with better planning
ROTS has an insane amount of stuff on the cutting room floor
PTSD to people asking for the 4 hour ROTS cut
He cut out Kenobi and Grievous's wedding and only kept their engagement, worst movie of the series
I mean a 4 hour ROTS director cut would be pretty crazy
Insane even
I just realized something does Cassian and Deedra ever meet in the show?
No
That's funny
I guess the two characters can't really meet
no, cause if they did, Cassian saying āyouāre frownier than i expectedā to Dedra in Rogue Two wouldnāt make sense
Good news everyone, my parents, who are usually so uninterested in TV that they look at their phones the whole time, are now hooked after the first three episodes of Andor
Awesome
Iāve found the first three episodes of both seasons a bit of an obstacle for people
but once they get past them they are hooked every time
The first 3 episodes of season 2 was probably the worst part of both seasons and bad enough to the point where I seriously thought the first season was a lightning in a bottle moment thank goodness the rest of the season was peak
for sure
I still enjoyed it plenty and didn't shit my diaper with worry, but I will still admit it's the weakest 3 episodes arc in the show
I'm not a big fan of the first 3 episodes arc in Andor either tbh
It absolutely pales in comparison to the rest of the season
I genuinely hated being around those bickering rebels in the jungle, and you never want your audience to be groaning "Oh my GODDD get him OUT OF THERE ALREADY"
First arc of season 2 does get one point from me with Cassian immediately crashing the ship into the wall
It did a lot to make Andor competent enough to be in a captain role
I would've felt that promotion was rushed without out
He made the most dogshit useless rebels in to his personal tool for winning his situation
P badass
Andor always seemed like too much of a lone wolf to do this kinda thing
I understand the point of the arc but the execution wasn't great
Mostly the tonal change
Although everything else was great
Idk I feel if we had Cassian spend more time on Mina-Rau with the others and have him assume the role of leader in how they're gonna get outta this one gang it would've been better than him trying to fenagle his way out of reach of the dumbass squad
ya i think the maya pei brigade stuff should have been one maybe two episodes
It's also made worse by the fact that we know Cassian is gonna make it out of this alive no matter what
If somebody else was WITH Cassian we would have some higher stakes
yep
maybe if Porko was still alive?
RIP Porko, never got to see him once and has the best name in the series
#FREEJOHNPORK
Jek Porkins
I think they could've tweaked the mission to include Wilmon with Cassian, the boy doesn't have that much going on in Mina-Rau other than a two minute romance and actively impeding the rest of the cast
Didnāt cuh say he was done with andor
Its like the green goblin mask
Yup
at this point is it just engagement bait or are they actually his opinions
like ofc part of it is for engagement
but i do wonder if theyre based on his honest opinions or if he actually secretly likes it
he thought episodes 1-6 were "too slow and boring" and told people to skip them
Anybody actually concave brained enough to take that advice doesnāt deserve to know whatās going on anyways
unfortunately my friend just didnt watch season 1 and hopped on the hype train for season 2 and then was confused why people liked cinta, and some other stuff that was important from season 1

You could remove that entire arc and the show wouldn't change at all
imagine skipping Narkina 5
and Luthens speechā¦

In theory yes
but Ima be honest the execution was rough
the supporting casts acting wasnāt great and the tone felt out of place compared to the rest of the show
like I understand what they were trying to do and why they made ig creative/directorial choices they did but it def felt to me like a step down from the rest of the show
also a personal nit pick of mine
the TIE escape sequence was a little too cliche and it felt like the bit went on just a little too long
idk maybe thatās just me
It didn't add anything to the character of Andor that wasn't already established and was used as filler that accounted to nothing
It was a little too cliche
Shame because the entire scene before that was gold
I thought the chase sequence only went on for that long because Cassian didn't know how to make the ship go UP
then at the end he went up so
Did they ever give an explanation for why the ship wasn't what he was trained for or was it just a planning error
my theory is that he was just told to steal an experimental tie fighter
and all tie fighters have the same controls so why would this one be any different
except it was
its like being told to steal a car then you get in and thereās no steering wheel, thereās a trackpad
he may have been trained on an Inquisitor TIE simulator, or just a general "advanced" simulator (defender) and didnt predict that Vader's control scheme is fucking wacky
TIE Avenger being derived from the TIE Advanced and ultimately Vader's TIE Fighter
i like to think this specific avenger may have been commissioned by Vader himself, after giving certain specifications to Sienar
The thought of Vader designing a fighter is very funny to me, especially this one
literally the TIE advanced
his one unique TIE from a new hope
āBut lord Vader the motion controls are confusing and unnecessaryā
āSay that again and Iām crushing your windpipe with my mindā
Thatās a good point I didnāt remember that
my headcanon is completely different
looking at the controls they seem somewhat similar to the umbaran starfighters
vaderās tie was pretty basic controls
avengerās are completely different from everything except, again, umbaran tech
i also saw a video (i think by eckharts ladder maybe?) about how the avenger just had so much weaponry (rockets, missiles, gatling guns, big ahh laser) that it might have literally just been sienarās weapons platform. like the avenger was never meant to go into production, it was just a proof of concept
i doubt it because why the hell would vader need two passenger seats
For the bros
Or his kids, one for each
So palpatine can have his annual performance review
I'm thinking of making a couple of video edits on the latter half of Andor season 2. Does anyone have any ideas of songs/music that would work for those episodes?
So far I've thought of Time by Hans Zimmer, Seven Nation Army, Viva La Vida, I'm Still Standing by Taron Edgerton, and Lovely by Billie Eilish.
*american gets told to steal a car and theres a gearstick
r/andor has such terrible opinions that I swear it's a shitposting sub
First rule of any Star Wars subreddit, never listen to a single person
amen
I saw this tweet from Tony Gilroy where he said Andor isnāt meant to be based on any one specific revolution and then everyone in the comments was like āoh itās not Gilroyās fault reality is Marxistā
Iām not gonna say you canāt draw easy parallels between the show and socialist revolutions in history but you can literally do that with every fuckin revolutionary movement in history
Short of reactionary uprisings I guess
āThe rebels are socialists and the Empire is (insert whoever the fuck)ā feels like the same take that dumbass republicans have when theyāre like āoh well the liberals are the stormtroopers and weāre the rebel allianceā
Yeah the show isn't very Marxist
It doesn't touch on economic issues much
It does touch on class
And yeah people are only really saying that because he took inspiration on rebellions that were socialist
But wow all the takes on mon mothma are abysmal
Ikr???
I saw this guy say āoh sheās so fucking spoiled bro sheās not doing anything for the rebellion and sheās such a coward she doesnāt know what real rebellion requires, look at how afraid she was when Andor shot people in front of herā
like dude words fucking matter in war
The NARRATIVE matters, I guess I should say
Rebellions mean shooting people and nothing else
If you let the Empire control the narrative then whenever the Rebellion takes over everyone fears them
I don't think people realise that she chose to sacrifice the life she had rather than other people who were forced to be in the Rebellion because of the empire
Anyone paying attention to galactic politics can see that Mon Mothma spent her enter career trying desperately to stem Imperial oppression via legal means before Ghorman
literally 15 to 20 years
Weird to say but āHype moments and auraā are a genuine tool for recruitment lmfao
Have you seen those military girl thirst trap recruitment videos
anyone rebel minded is gonna be like āDamn Mon Mothma risked being arrested to say āThe Emperor is evil fight himā before leaving, thatās braveāā
Yeah Haylujan
sheās a psyop specialist
Us recruitment propaganda is crazy
Reservist but still
Propaganda is a fire tool
Very obviously
I mean the Empire are experts at propaganda wars
thatās why so much of the galaxy can swallow Ghorman
And however many other genocides that undoubtedly happened
Eedy Karn is like, the prime example
I really loved how they used eedy karn as an insight to emperial propaganda without confusing the narrative
Yeah dude she just sounds like a fuckin boomer that listens to right wing pages on Facebook
Not to mention sheās dumping who knows how many credits into the rebellion
Mon not Karn
Eedy got that Umbridge aura fr
also whoever wrote āmon is a cowardā dude youāre a fucking normal guy Iām positive you would also be shitting bricks if the government was coming to END YOU SPECIFICALLY and the one guy thatās ensuring your safety is shooting people in your defense. Gunfights are scary
It would be fucking weird if Mon was cool and collected like Andor considering itās probably the first time sheās in real physical danger like that
"mon is a coward"
chat, pull up that one time she exploded someone right next to her
First rule of the internet*
"Mon mothna never hand to get her hands dirty"
Even tho she had to marry of her daughter to fund the rebellion
Media literacy final boss
Had to unfollow the account because it was such a bad opinion
Episode 1-3 of S2 good
Yes
You were following it??!
Yeah
what account
lol
Don't remember but she was a tv critic
Must've watched the show while scrolling on tiktok
Even if some people on r/andor have shallow takes, I still appreciate that it has so many people thinking. It's just a really good piece of media; has people talking about it and more in a reflective way that many other pieces of Star wars media could only dream
I think I saw a repost though about someone saying that senators like Mon Mothma were the reason that the Empire was able to form. That is straight up a bad take
I'm okay with alot of different takes and criticisms
But everything people say about Mon mothma is just terrible
I do understand all of her scenes are very dialogue heavy
Me too
I have to keep her up to date on little tidbits of info but she's absolutely sold on it tbh
i didnt need to get my dad into it
he hasnt finished it yet, think he's on s2ep4?
he says that every time they go to a new planet he likes to pause and just absorb the sets and scenery
My said that its boring cause not enough cool fights
I'm so sorry
That's why I had never shown it to my dad
isnt this the guy who killed ||cinta||
Donāt think Iāve ever heard so many British accents before in Star Wars
So far so good
We are never getting another Star Wars project with this level of quality again
Hope you are excited for Ahsoka season 2
Or Mandolorian movie
or maul tv show
Episode 1-3 of S2 good
i'm excited for the maul show
obviously wont be as prestige as andor
but sam witwer wont let it be slop
Does the deputy inspector guy who was the one pushing to look for andor appear in this show constantly or does he eventually go away
He has a strong presence throughout
heās one of the main characters
but if you think heās insufferable he gets better
one of the best characters imo
Alright
Good wrap up for the character tho
I don't believe the syril is an incel archetype propaganda
heās an ROTC kid
he thinks heās the main character
the problem is heās fighting for the wrong side
Dude it's literally just me saying it
- he literally choked a bitch
It was a common opinion during season 1
He's a subversion of the nice guy trope
(he will)
Unfortunately
You're getting downdooted
Enjoy your negative karma
I will
On S1x8 and this is already better than ahsoka kenobi rebels bobf
Idk about mando s1 tho
We need more tv shows showing Star Wars in this type of way
I don't know whether I'm excited you finally see it or fucking exhausted you fought us so hard on exactly what we told you
Don't think you should be exhausted from arguing with people on discord
You must be new to star wars communities
Every time I try to catch up on any Star Wars media (Obi Wan, Ashoka, Acolyte) and I just canāt because every minute makes me miss Andor š
I've been rewatching TCW when I'm with my cousin (his first time) and acolyte (also his first time). It's very refreshing "rewatching for the first time" through someone else
Especially refreshing that he actually has a brain when watching acolyte too
He's enjoying it for sure, he's on a lot of the high republic comic stuff (massive comic nerd) so it slots right in
He's so much more open to actually letting the show play out too. Like he went to complain that the wookiee jedi didn't have robes on but then was like "well actually when we saw him, he was in what looked like a hide out so maybe he got rid of them"
I was flabbergasted to hear him ready to let the show explain itself... Almost like it's a fkn mystery show
Lol
Wait when did the Wookie not have robes?
Was that in the present day time
Around ep 4/5
Nah he's not that far yet
I think it was a glimpse he saw
Don't remember, just remember the surprise from him being ready to accept things
I'm not even bringing up ANY of the common "criticisms" of lore to see if he picks up on any of it but I know for a fact he won't because they're regurgitated crap

Also on the channel topic, I'm watching this rn šæ
'Andor' Star Diego Luna and Creator Tony Gilroy share the behind-the-scenes process for bringing Ghorman to life.

Omg I just realized that when the ghorman kid crashes in to the security droid to save Andor...
That means the force decided ||Cinta had to die|| for the kid to be in the headspace to want to save so badly
RAGHHHH I LOVE AMBIGUOUS FORCE MOTIVES HIDDEN IN SUBTEXT
Like, TikTok/shorts edits or long form edits? And just look up "Edit Audios" and scroll through some themes
long form edits
just searching edit audios wouldn't give me the right sort of tones of songs
Totally agree I don't mind them doing darker stuff in star wars but don't put me through 3 boring ass near HOUR long episodes and the big epic finale is Andors girlfriend getting assulted
Lol that was my exact reaction to the entire dilemma I hope the imperials found them eventually and they never make it to the founding of the rebel base on yavin
Episode 1-3 of S2 good
Which season is more generally liked by people
S1 seems better so far
Not sure tbh
The first arc of s2 is generally considered worse than s1
But the last two arcs are considered some of, if not the best of the show.
season 1
prison arc is unbeatable
the monologues are excellent throughout the season
and the music is better
season 2 is great but 1 is better
RIP bozo š¤£
Starting s2 e1 right now letās go
This show is visually stunning
Invading Iran Ghorman to access their oil kalkite reserves
Does Dedra and cereal hook up?
Watch the show
āCerealā
Canāt tell if that was intentional or not lmao
I am goofy
Ofc it was lol heās our morning cereal
That bozo who tried to assault Bix was pathetic lmao
When he came out of the hut and fell and smacked his head I fucking died
In the funniest fashion
Still rightfully deserved ngl
Absofruitley
ānobody cares that two completely different people are experiencing two completely different thingsā
they are different people, but what matters is how theyre the same
and how their situations are similar but different
I respect this ragebait
I'll give him the sister argument, though.
I don't
Yeah no the big point behind his sister never being mentioned or seen ever again until the very end is kinda the whole point
so based
He made a minor point and stretched it out to dangerously thin levels. Like maarva said, stop looking for her because that whole planet died after their left. Nobody is alive. Plus S2 made it about the things that tie Andor to his fight for the cause. He needs these people looming over him like a bad nightmare so he can actually do what the force has set out for him to do
damn
Heās seen the light
He has friends everywhere now
For me at no point in season 2 is there anything that tops the prison break arc from season 1
So just on that notion season is automatically better despite the other issues I have with season 2
Personally I think the whole Ghorman plot line tops the prison break if only because itās built up so well and the payoff is perfect
Disagreeing over which season is better is a good problem to have when both seasons are peak television
I hope the next live action show is as good
Iām not caught up so I have no clue
I donāt even want Ashoka s2
We need to move away from the kenobi ahsoka slop type tv shows
I wouldnāt mind another original character
Yeah I really wanna know what they'll have in store
Maybe they are moving back to animation
All I remember is the maul animated show
b2emo ahh building
Lol
Episode 1-3 of S2 good
Its good but itās not as good as the later stuff
I just got told I was spouting lies for saying the reason ISB building and Narkina Prison are so sterile clean is because they're inspired heavily by George Lucas' first film THX...
BRUDDA ITS RIGHT THERE
Ok who tf can't see the similarities??
Actually no
Who is being blind enough to deny it when the proof is right there.
He went quiet after the proof so
Good
The fact that the aurabesh literally says the same thing in each grid too
S2 episode 3 was so good but stressful
The first two episodes were very stressful for her too
The episodes flew in for her because it was so tense
They really captured feeling like you're in the moment
Rather than watching something that you feel like already happened
Which most prequel media feels like
Reallll
so true

I hate that he didnāt get a proper goodbye with anyone
but ig thatās the point
life be like
Itās insane how many homie side characters we lost earlier this year, Brasso, Foggy, Rexsplodeā¦
rael
rael was NOT a "homie side character"
I think it is a just a play on words silly skele
Rael
The shade š
My mother guessed correctly who Bail Organa was despite this being the first time his recast appears
I'm unfathomably proud
"is that the guy who raises one of the twins" unprompted
Peak mom moment ngl
Episode 1-3 of S2 good
Nah
All bad because no ahsoka
Dave get back to work
