#Andor Spoilers

I audibly went "GODDAMN"
Holy IMDB rating
Peakdor has landed
I thought this was the finale but apparently there's 3 more episodes according to Google
Only 3 eps with the GOAT we'll need to savor them
Aren’t these the last episodes too?
The next three I mean
Sad times that Peakdor will not return
Yes
no
Unbelievably based
Ending the episode with that was perfect
I was thinking to myself that if I syril dies this episode we need to see her reaction at the end
Peak derserves peak
reasons why an andor episode gets rated highly:
masterclass in writing, acting, cinematography, direction etc
reasons why an ahsoka episode gets rated highly
"anakin showed up"

Mike, Jay, and Rich Evans watch Rouge One: A Make-Up Story - listen to their exciting commentary as they watch the most boringest Star Wars film ever.

Syril

how did i not realize until the end of the episode that the reason k2so can talk and is quirky and has a british accent is because they literally swapped his brain with a protocol droid's
Anyone else disappointed Cyril died and the relationship powe couple things with Deedra is over?
Really thought that their dysfunctional relationship was entertaining
They're both terrible people but I did enjoy watching them make each other worse
But I don't love them showing a man choking his female partner and making it seem justified
At least he got his soul shattered and then got shot in the head that was neat
Maaaaaan when they showed the imperial sniper just popping off civilians one after the other I was like "haha that's just like me in battlefront" 💀
Before that he pushed that old man on the ground afterwards he attacked and choked and attacked cassian
I don't think they made it seem justified
Yeah I feel like they were trying to establish he was at a breaking point and crashing out
So much so that when he saw Cassian he went into a blind rage despite Cassian not being involved in his life for a few years now
I agree
i think it was crashing out but also primarily because he genuinely believes in justice and to him andor is still a criminal, and technically he’s right
"duel of the fates!"
"obi-wan vs anakin!"
"maul vs ahsoka!"
syril vs andor fistfight
Unironically the rawest fight scene from Star Wars in a very long time
true
Yeah that's true
better than the sequel lightsaber duels
Fuck
Syril…
My favorite mall cop psychopath
I feel like they were subtly making fun of Rebels with the “they need to rewrite the story” line
i mean it is a kid's show can you really blame them
I was wondering how they were gonna tie it in
It’s funny to think that Rebels is going on in the background
But thats Star Wars for you I guess
I kinda wanna rewatch that episode of rebels but I know better than to watch any other SW after Andor
The speech in Andor is 500x better than the one in Rebels I know
first third of the episode is the rebels fighting some assassin droid in space
second third is a dogfight
third is actually where mon comes in and gives the speech that starts the civil war
Calling Palpatine a genocidal dictator on C-SPAN was insane
I loved that whole speech
The reason she has to do a second speech is that nobody watches C-SPAN
K2 MY GOAT
HES HERE
FUCK YES
CINEMA
I’m never gonna be able to watch Star Wars again dude
They just straight up retcon rebels as Mon Mothma immediately gets picked up by gold squadron instead of Scooby Doo gang
I think she was gonna get picked up but something went wrong on the way there iirc
I don’t really wanna rewatch to make sure
The fact they retcon the speech is all I need to see
basically the reason hera ezra zeb and chopper are even there is cause gold squadron transporting mon needs to refuel
and phoenix has the fuel for them
The Andor speech completely destroys the Rebels speech but that’s to be expected
The Rebels speech is just a shittier version of the Andor one
the only thing they 100% retconned was the speech we see on the holonet in rebels
Its pretty funny as Filoni has constantly retconned other canon material
Good
Return to sender
I’m of the opinion that retcons are awesome but only if the retcon is cooler than the thing it replaced
Hence Andor
did they retcon any of dark disciple with totu
I can't tell you how big of a W it is that Peakdor completely retcons and ignore Rebels
ive never read it
From what I know
The start of episode 1 is 1:1 with Dark Disciple's ending
Or at least it's similar enough
gotcha
Don't fuck with us star wars fans we don't actually read the source material
so real
Remember the Ahsoka novel that Filoni decided to completely ignore
It doesn't?
It does
Only really like the speech
Yeah the entire point
Let's do that episode but instead of rebels it happens at the Senate with Andor
Yknow the funniest part about Andor is that it’ll get Star Wars fans to say “Episode 8 is the best”
andor gets her to the safehouse and then from there she goes with gold squadron to dantooine
Yup no sign of cartoon characters
They’ll have the ghost in background shots in the next 3 episodes and I’m gonna be slightly annoyed every time I see it
i dont think its a problem to acknowledge rebels' existence
Bring out the Chopper prop
why are yall hating so much
What did you expect
The dialogue is different in the Tales short I think but that's about it
i need to lower my expectations to none
Thank goodness they didn't tie themselves down to a terrible show
Syril holy shit
I liked how Mon Mothma reacted to the violence the results from it
He really was a psycho bless his heart
I was not expecting him to choke Dedra like that
That genuinely shocked me
where is Manny Bothans
I forgot he was batshit
he dies to get them the information about the death star
When Andor just kills her driver even though she knows he's an ISB agent she is pretty shocked and disgusted that Andor just murders him
That’s ROTJ
Like it's nothing
Dedra was fucking shook
actually where are Tag and Bink please make them canon
That was something hinted with Bix I was really interested in the story fleshing out that went nowhere is that even though they're fighting the Empire they still have second thoughts about killing people
Mon Mothma knew her driver was an agent but certainly didn't want him just outright killed
Shows she's a good person at heart
I was disappointed it looked they were turning him into a good guy
At least that's how it felt
I think it’s more he’s realizing that he was a pawn all along for the ISB when he thought he was the one playing the game
If that makes sense
He’s not mad they’re doing this to the Ghor as much as he’s mad he was kept in the dark about it
I thought it was both cuz they kept focusing on him looking at all the chaos and the imperials setting up their trap
He probably feels some sympathy but it’s mostly about the betrayal from the people he thought he could trust
Also disappointed his relationship with Deedra ended so fast but I think it was because we were supposed to get multiple seasons there a lot of things in this show that just happen with little to no pay off
We had 3 whole ass episodes focused on that fucking wedding and we don't even get to see the reaction from Mothmas husband or daughter about the rebel stuff
If I remember correctly you don't even see them after those first 3 episodes so what was the fucking point of dedicating 3 whole ass episodes for Mothas wedding stuff just for the show to forget her family exists 🤔???
It was cut
They had a scene written
I have depicted you as the shocked and Horrified Mon Mothma and myself as the cool and ever stoic Cassian Andor
I'm halfway through season 2 episode 1 and why is it so mid
Its a slow season start
I am reading nothing yet but I just finished episode 8 and I need a fucking smoke
Maybe an opium addiction
I am legally required to watch episode 9 now, nothing else matters
The Tlatelolco massacre (Spanish: La Masacre de Tlatelolco) was a military massacre committed by the Mexican Armed Forces against the students of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), and other universities in Mexico.
The massacre followed a series of large demonstrations called the Mexica...
The Mexican government and media claimed that the Armed Forces had been provoked by protesters shooting at them
A 2001 investigation revealed documents showing that the snipers were members of the Presidential Guard, who were instructed to fire on the military forces in order to provoke them
First 3 episodes suck the rest is good
basically meme templates
Are you fucking kidding me?
They're playing rock paper scissors...
This is so unbelievably bad
its peak
remember back in the 2020 period where there was supposed to be a "lucasfilm civil war" between filoni and favearu, vs kathleen kennedy
What
This show is much better when you avoid spoilers
Many people were in absolute delulu mode over the state of lucasfilm when Mandos Season 1 and 2 were coming out
I'm just putting my reactions here after watching episodes
Claiming there was a Schsim in Lucasfilm between the Wokes and Filoni
Oh
People make up fantasies in their head
So wholesome chungus
OH WAIT
It gets better
These imbeciles actually thought
That Filoni was going to retcon the sequels
Believe it or not people will tell you that it's good
BIXXXX NOOOOOOO
Hey at least it wasn't pointless like you said. It was exactly what I said it might exist for, to show how effective of a leader Cassian is and how much of a joke the rebels outcasts were before the unification
(still cheesy but not pointless)
Here we go again
Guys guys Yavin 4 stuff will totally be fleshed out later guys trust
Andor is good but denying the bad writing moments is cult behavior
Not the nuance 😭
Anyway Cyril getting obliterated was fucking perfect. I'm glad I was right to be suspicious of them turning his character around
The second I start to respect his character, he gets humiliated by Cassian and then his brains blown out
(I was also right about pro incel propaganda cuz damn I was rooting for him finally growing some nuts man)
I mean if you found out your girlfriend and government was basically space hitler after believing for years you were doing the right thing I think he was perfectly justified in crashing out on Dedra
100% justified
Should have killed her instead of going red on Cassian
No he attacked Cassian because he believes that he is the progenitor of all the bad stuff happening
I don't think he cared at all about Dedra in the end
Star wars doesn't usually have that lol
Oh and the bail recast worked out in the end, glad I held my tongue
Bro is an amazing smart bail
I don't think anybody really cared about the recast
Plenty definitely did from what I heard
It was even planned for by gilroy
Short cameo to get it out of the way
I heard people got upset but I never personally saw or read anybody getting upset
Like I did with other stuff
I didn't say that
I think they planned for it but I don't think it was a problem like they thought it would have been
Ok
It's nowhere close to any of the other complaints
Like SA or Yavin 4 arc or anything like that
👍
Oh and what the fuck was that member berry with the blaster
Was I meant to wojak at that
Which part
Fuckin nerdy ass Rogue one cameo I think
Exactly
Are you talking about weird white alien yeti thing
The rebel girl who lost her lover picked up a blaster and some member berry bombastic tune played and there's a dude I faintly recognised
"that's my blaster ☝️🤓"
Idk
Now THAT is a shit cameo
Was that a rogue one character or something
Tbf nobody remembers the first 2/3rds of that movie anyway
Congratulations
Thank you I enjoy it very much
Oh wait
I think the blaster had an emblem on it or something she wiped dirt off of
Maybe he was from ghorm
Idk
its syril's from season 1
Huh
cassian took it off him when escaping ferrix, hid it on niamos, got jailed and then escaped with melshi, and gave it to melshi on niamos
🤷♂️
All I got was a symbol and an ost jingle
Makes me wonder why people complained about other relevant member berries so much
So how did this random guy get it
cough Yavin
....because andor gave it to him
Because nobody thought it was member berries
That would've been so funny if he did
Yeah because they must've been on their phones
And even then it's not member berries if it's something directly from the show
You mean like yavin
Still no mention of the astromech
You mean surprise Yavin reveal with member berries music that added nothing to the show and was there so the audience would clap and forget the worst arc in both seasons
I clapped when I saw yavin
Are you guys
Still at this
Episode 8 is probably the last we see of eedy karn
I really liked her character this season
uncle harlow will kill dredra in the finale
Using her as a lense to empires propaganda without it confusing the narrative
Plot twist uncle harlow is Saw
uncle harlow is luthen
I realize now why they didn't give K2 a gun holy shit
He escaped the prison with Cassian in season 1 so it's not just a Rogue One cameo
Nah I'm finally done after all my points got validated tbh
Loving this season from start to finish now that I have a more full picture
No more CGI complaints either, wayyyy better
Can't wait to see how it finishes
Same
It's amazing
It might take the place of my favourite show I've watch
Which is currently young sheldon
ashoka comes to save the day
i think dedra will find out about luthen
there's a clip where she raises her pistol in a room that looks like luthens shop
I like Dedra as a character but on the other hand I hope she dies so Disney can't ruin her later on
it was melshi from rogue one but also from the narkina arc
also ive never heard the term “member berry” before whats it mean
glup shitto cameo?
glup shitto or member berry
Glup Shitto is an awesome term, but using member berries for low quality cameos feels a bit low brow to me
Then again I liked wojak point lol
gotcha
i love glup shitto cause its ridiculously accurate so its really funny
i want them to make Tag and Bink canon in some form
i fucking love that comic
Which one was that again?
Nvm just remembered it’s that comedic rebel duo
ya
they got in wacky shenanigans that coincided with the main events of the movies
Bob Iger was mentioned too
Even Gilroy will admit he's the real issues around here
1 more year
And we will see if we get someone better or worse
the last time they replaced him we got the unequivocally worst disney era ever
hopefully they choose a better replacement this time
man, im finally caught up after being on vacation, and then sick, and i come in here looking forward to discuss peak, but some of y'all just using it as a platform to shit on other star wars.
some of y'all suck.
even tony gilroy thinks some of y'all suck.
Real
Memesoon diss
PREACH! I might just start curating who I can see on my timeline more cuz it's really sucking the fun out of it
gilroy basically calling out SWT with "the people who speak with the most authority online are usually the people who know the least"
Just watched the new episodes
That was f***ing amazing!!!
I did not think they could beat season 1's best, but they somehow did.
How on earth are they going to finish this show and make it feel complete?
Episode 8 had me traumatized
The security droid scenes were fucking terrifying man
Humans turned in to action figures thrown across the road
The kicking the barricade...
"I thought I had ruined my life. I thought I was done. After meeting you, and discovering you understood how dangerous Cassian Andor was. Just being in your presence, I... I've realised that life is worth living. I realised that if nothing else, there was justice and beauty in the galaxy and if I just kept going...Perhaps my deranged belief that there was something better fated for me in the future was a dream worth clinging to."
NAH MY EYES HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE OPEN
I SEE THE SYRIL VISION NOW
I WAS BUT BLINDED IN THE FACE OF SUCH CREATIVE MAJESTY
I don't interact with star wars YouTube at all
Or star wars twitter
What's annoying me alot are the pretentious andor fans
They act like people who like the ahsoka show are a subhuman species
I more meant my timeline in here but that too
Ong
The quality jump from the beginning of the season is insane
Ohhhh
Yeah the ignore feature works really well
Its like blocking but better
Yeah that was so confusing just a random scene out of nowhere
Same thing in season 1
Tony Gilroy is just that good at build up
He died redeemed
If he made me have respect for him in his final moments?
You earned it dude
From incel to real in his last moments
Honestly I would love a political style espionage show about the New Republic
I think overcoming a fascist regime but never having planned for what comes after a great idea. Humans can all come together for a common enemy, but they will go right back to hating eachother and feeling superior
(plus it'll make the capital planet being blown up actually fucking matter)
Let's expand the ST flaws the way the prequels got without a focus on super important characters of the era
Seriously, the rise of the First Order is such a blindspot, a series about it could do wonders if it’s written competently
am i the only one here who thinks the first arc was a masterclass in parallel storytelling? Like the last 3 eps were really fucking good, but I don't think it's an insane jump in quality. the quality of s2 has been pretty consistent in my eyes.
I'd love to hear your thoughts, been waiting to gush over it tbh
i see a lot of complaints about the rebels on yavin, but i think a lot of people are missing the point. as a standalone, sure, its a little silly, but its not a standalone story. its a comparison story.
The Rebels vs the Empire are juxtaposed.
While the rebels are killing each other in the middle of the jungle, the empire is organizing genocide while having biscuits and coffee. While the rebels are deciding to kill one man, whose ultimately on their side, the Empire is deciding how to kill millions.
Meanwhile Cassian and Mon are parallels.
While everyone around Cassian is making the wrong decisions and making his life worse for their own self-interests, everyone around Mon is making the wrong decisions and making her life worse for their own self-interests. When Cassian finally gets control, he really still doesn't have control and his best friend is killed. When Mon finally gets control, she really doesn't have control and her best friend is killed.
I just really enjoyed how believable it makes "Captain Andor" because even he had the ability to turn dogshit childish rebellions in to something effective enough to get something done
It also makes his decision to back off from Ghorman even more interesting because it must really be a fucked up situation to be too far gone for him
And the show has now just proven he was right from the beginning
those poor ghormans tho... when an appropriate response to hearing about "the ghorman massacre" is "which one"
I love the parallels and opposite parallels in andor
I wonder if ghorman will collapse
oh it for sure will
i guess they've rebranded the first one as "the tarkin massacre" in canon
Yes
Ghorman being uninhabitable would finish off the arc and parallel with the first arc of andor about andors home planet being uninhabitable due to mining
That would be pretty legit
I've seen articles about "omg they said genocide" lol
Thought that was pretty funny
Star wars had saw attempt genocide in their kids show rebels lol
There was an episode about the geonosians being completely genocided
yeah was just about to mention that, can't remember if they actually used the word "genocide" tho
They don't
Pablo Hidalgo does, tho, when he made the canon Declaration of Rebellion, penned in-universe by Mon Mothma
It seems to be a bit of a taboo word
theres a lot of that going around this season, apparently
People grew up in different households
What's taboo for one person isn't for another
womp womp, knowing this is what could be it should be the standard for every show going forward. not that every show should be a drama thriller but every show should adhere to the quality of andor. the care and thought that was put into this which we evidently have never gotten before.
cant wait to go back to watching jon favreu slop again
just so happy
even tony gilroy thinks you suck
i read it and i dont think so, youre reaching to feel validated
nah, even tony gilroy thinks you suck
back to reddit bro
have fun knowing even tony gilroy thinks you suck 👋
I don't think andor should be the standard for every project
Skeleton crew is where I would put the standard
i can see not every show adhering to it because of for example the different ages theyre targeted for but i very much believe the quality of recent shows are completely unacceptable. legacy characters are just not important enough go be handled with care i guess.
mayhaps i agree
skeleton crew>obi, boba, acolyte, mando s3,
we were having a nice conversation about andor here
Skeleton crew had alot of care put into it
With practical effects set and design and camera work
Yeah but it needs another season
Alot of questions not answered
Questions that were set up from episode 1
Real
Andor should set an example of the quality that every show should aim for, not what every show should try to be
i agree
every sprinter should aim to be as good as Usain Bolt but we shouldn't expect them to be at his level
exactly!!
TIL andor is a fulcrum
☹️
Why not
I don't expect every project to reflect the more mature tone of Andor but I certainly expect them to have standards when it comes to the quality of their products
Andor has fantastic writing and quality why is it wrong to expect the same from other Star Wars products or call out lesser work when it's very clear they have the talent to make it better?
I rewatched Rogue One last night (parents decided to watch it), and one thing that confused me was how easily K2 security droids were destroyed by blaster fire. In the new Andor episodes they barely even take a beating. Does anyone know why there's such a difference?
You could say the blasters being used
Rogue one is military level rifles
Ghorman was makeshift pistols and cheap black markets
i mean the real reason is just that Rogue One was their first appearance and i dont think they were really established as powerhouses until like Fallen Order.
But if you're looking for a canon reason, mass production could've lead to lower quality when comparing the units we first see in 18 BBY vs the ones we see in 1 BBY.
Yeah I mean that too because after the rebellion is more recognised, they'd need to pump up the production numbers
even if the latest andor episode was just 2 BBY, they could've been using "original" or older KX units that were better quality, that needed to be replaced by the cheaper ones shortly after when ones like K2SO were crushed/captured
OooOoo now we're cooking
The original units were stronger but had a design flaw that allowed them to be easily rebuilt and hacked
Good question
I changed my original opinion on this
I don't think any project should be held to the standard of others
While comparison is a valid form of critique it often waters down into "well I like this more"
I do think other star wars shows need more attention to detail
But I'm not going to hold them andors standard
Jyn was just built different / K2 took on basically an entire platoon before he went down

Yeah it's not dissimilar to the firing squad of Andor peeps
Buckle up cuz the next two episodes also suck ass
cool guy
“My lord, the Ghorman people held a huge insurrection and Mon Mothma publicly denounced you, what do we do?”
“10 billion credits to Naboo”
Another trillion credits to Kuat Drive Yards
what about the droid attack on the wookies
Peakdor finale tonight I’m so fucking ready
Man I really wish we got that multi season show initially really wanted to stay in this underground rebel era
Bruh fr
I guess I only looking forward to Ahsoka season 2 if they're making that since that cliffhanger was interesting
just gonna be more slop
the 2024-2025 good star wars streak has ended
(well except may-august 2024 maybe)
Ah I see I haven't been keeping up I think only watched Ahsoka and Andor and Mando the last few years
Ironically I like the 1st Mando Season the best
Same with Andor
since the start of 2024 we got
bad batch S3 (good)
tales of the empire (shit)
acolyte (i liked it)
skeleton crew (good)
tales of the underworld (good)
andor S2 (great)
At no point does this show ever top the prison break in season 1 and for that alone it's a downgrade without getting into the other issues
Andor season 1 prison Arc was legendary
Generational I'd say
I heard alot of people liked skeleton crew
its a nice adventure
It sucks that Disney's track record is so messy they waste a lot of good time periods to have stories in
unfortunately thats down to the creator of the specific product
that ending though
if i had a nickel for every time a star wars tv show that is a prequel for a male character ends showing that said male character ||has a son that they did not know about and never wind up caring for||, i’d have two nickels, which isnt a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice
So far watching it, ||Luthen’s death|| was gut wrenching, especially as someone who has had to watch life support get pulled
This show dude…
Who else is planning on rewatching Rogue One after
Tomorrow
the only thing im confused about is that at the very end, cassian is ||going to kafrene||
and we see it at the beginning of rogue one
but this arc was 1bby and rogue one is 0bby
but it’s heavily implied to be the same event
me for sure lol
They changed 0 bby
wdym
PEAK
Commit Partagaz
who is andors sister
I genuinely think this is an error on the Show's part
Oh
The distinction between Andor, Rogue One, and A New Hope will never not be the funniest thing
but rogue one literally ends right where a new hope begins
has it been changed so that the "new year" for BBY is the battle of yavin
rather than being the middle
so a day before the battle of yavin is considered 1 BBY?
Yes
I had to google that continuity change myself. It's so silly. 0 BBY and 0 ABY are now the same year, simply referred to as "0". 0 starts with ANH, and lasts a whole year until 1 ABY. So Rogue One is 1 BBY until the moment the credits roll and Vader starts chasing the Tantive IV. Technically 0 BBY is just ANH up through the Battle of Yavin. And 0 ABY is the rest of the year after that, starting with the medal ceremony at the end of ANH.
So weird and unnecessarily confusing
how was the medal ceremony a full year later wtf
gotcha
wait nvm i understand now
so blah blah bby up until 1bby which ends at the start of a new hope then all of anh is 0 then 1aby starts… at the end of a new hope? or a year after the end of a new hope?
the only way it makes sense for 1bby and 1aby to be actually a year apart would be for the medal ceremony to be exactly a year after the start of a new hope
1 ABY is a year after ANH
The year "0" (no BBY or ABY) is from the start of ANH until a year later, when 1 ABY starts
you can split the year 0 up into BBY and ABY, but 0 BBY is only a few days long (however long ANH takes) and 0 ABY is the rest of the year, starting with the medal ceremony
ok ok its all coming together now
how i wrapped my head around it is 1 BBY is everything that happens in the year leading up to ANH
gotcha
Tales of the empire good
Tales of the underground bad
mf thinks empire was good
It was peak
Those last three episodes were gut wrenching
You liked Tales of the Underworld more than Tales of the Empire?

time to watch tales of the empire!
barriss story that goes nowhere and she dies
morgan
More exciting than Ventress getting a reboot royale and basically doing nothing for 45 minutes

ill admit that its out of place (because it actually is!)
TotE might be mediocre, but I can atleast see what they were going for with both of the characters, one being corrupted one being redeemed, etc etc
I have... no idea wtf the point of TotU was

Filoni has truly gone beyond my brain capacity with those 6 episodes
Uhhh Cad Bane is a deadbeat uhh
one letting go and one not
anyway, to elaborate
ventress' is out of place, she wasnt originally intended to be in tales and only decided on it due to bad batch
and they did need to address the fact that shes alive
so ventress' shorts are basically to give her a clean slate and to put her back on the table for stories, she'd been gone from screens for 11 years prior to bad batch
fortnite
yes she should be a skin
i didnt mean to type that here lmao
tbh its not unrelated to underworld lol
Peakdor actually landed
Tied into its related source way better than any other related media I've seen
Tying it into Rogue One without feeling rushed or too on the nose
This season 9/10
These types of shows are not common and that's not even talking about Star Wars

cant wait for andor to win 3 cassillion emmys
Too bad the first 2 acts of that movie are a snooze fest
So when are we getting Andor 2 following his son Many Bothans Andor
Lonni's son is named Manny "Both-Hands" Jung
And he never knew
B2EMO
I cried when I saw him playing with the other droid, He seemed so happy and joyful
I believe this is close to the end of 1 BBY. Rogue One is 1/0 BBY.
dont worry
0 still exists
we settled it
I saw
Why does Wil have a limp in the last 2 episodes?
he may have just had an off-screen injury. from his uniform and places he works, he probably transferred to base engineering instead of his previous position
he had a limp since escaping Ghorman with his girlfriend
this scene
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i2f7JJ3BLA
he has a limp after that
Enjoy and Subscribe!
Season 2 Episode 9 Welcome to the Rebellion
In the aftermath of the Ghorman massacre, the Empire frames the incident as an insurrection. Mon decides it is time to openly condemn the Emperor and flee to Yavin IV. Bail Organa chooses to stay behind and support her escape. Luthen learns from Jung that Organa's team is comprom...
I’m pretty sure it’s an injury from the Ghorman massacre, remember he stayed behind for the girl
Sooo Andor covered whole ass lynchings with that Luthen flashback
You don't get much more original woke than that
And war crimes but we've seen plenty of that
andor keeping it real
Lynchings??! When was that?
When Luthen walked off on child Kleya
They got no trial shot in firing range style when someone had already stated they've caught the people over and over so they're practically random executions
(of a group of people) kill (someone) for an alleged offence without a legal trial, especially by hanging.
Granted it's not a hanging, but I doubt star wars has those
Oh
I thought it was targeted towards a certain group
Probably my history brain working
Well that town is a certain group of people. They're only local to that place
They've almost wiped them out
Ah
Just love that Andor has no problem showing the nuance of how the empire is evil, rather than just telling us
Like yeah I don't like too much explaining in star wars but tony gilroy is great at breaking new ground
German group
I must be missing the punchline
Lucas intended them to be an allegory for that group from ww2
So this is taking it to the extreme
Just in case
they already did that with cassian’s dad
True! I meant more on a large scale though
That woman said they've done this many times to the point of wiping out a town
Then again ferrix is pretty fucked up
What happens now…
Does this channel just get archived and forgotten
Peak is no more
We go back to hating on dave filoni instead of discussing peak
⬆️ ⬆️
I’m sure it will be once enough time has passed for Spoilers to be discussed outside of here
not having nicholas britell compose the entire season 2 soundtrack was honestly a mistake imo
ive listened to almost all of both seasons' soundtracks (listening to s2e10-12 rn) and season 1 had so much more, better, unique songs
and one thing i noticed is they used past/present suite when cassian is driving mon mothma away from the senate
errrr
didnt know it was just the escape theme now
where is the past
when it was used in season 1, it was showing PAST cassian go into space for the first time with maarva and clem, and PRESENT cassian escaping with luthen
but in s2 it's just the present, there is no past being shown
i'm probably criticizing this too much, but it's because they did the same thing in rise of skywalker a fuck ton
like they used Luke & Leia when lando talks to jannah
and used a bunch of other themes for inappropriate times, this video goes into detail https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_8-dWSLDWI

I really cannot recommend this podcast enough, they go over EVERYTHING in (and everything that isn't in) TROS and they go into just so much detail about every aspect of the musical theme...
my favorite is yoda's theme being turned into "lifting x-wing from water" theme, like come ON
ok rant over :)
The most enlightening thing I ever heard about Star Wars that explains exactly why they feel the way they do is that they were made with the idea that they're silent films and that the music score is what carries the tone
The reason leitmotifs are so heavily present
Oh i see
i completely agree
I wondered for years why Star Wars feels different from everything else and why so many newer projects absolutely suck
and thats why when the music isn't good it turns me off from the content
However Andor is an example of why hiring actually talented writers and directors is important
star wars is best when the visuals follow the music, not the other way around
Well the visuals must always come first as it is a visual format
Notice how everything that tries to be the "next Star Wars" completely fails
It has nothing to do with science fiction or even space opera
It's about tone
I would say the prequels themselves are 100% carried by the same logic and is the sole reason anybody even pretends to like them
I don't get why people called andor the least star wars star wars
out of any of them it would technically be skeleton crew because it doesnt actually contain wars
(i havent seen skeleton crew)
Yes it does
Oh
In skeleton crew they visit a planet with a civil war
Where they use child soldiers
ope
HOLY SHIT PARTISAN KILLED HIMSELF
Oh my god Dedra went to prison
Bro
Whyyy
What the fuuuck
Partagaz?
Highly recommend rewatching the Luthen speech after finishing S2
Holy fuck I get twice as many goosebumps now
He DID give us everything
He DID miss the sunrise
Holy shit
Broo
Everything just
MM
Syrians death too
I never commented but holy shit to comes together
As he realizes how insignificant he is
How used he was
AAAA love this show
Did my girl Dedra dirty though
Best ending for her
Way better than her being killed she's in the very bottom of the chain of command
She's essentially dead going to be worked to death
Nah she will reappear in Ahsoka season 2
Actually Cassian’s kid is going to return in Ahsoka s2 to help defeat Thrawn
I couldn't imagine a worse outcome
Cassian’s kid vs Dedra
Aura
The second I start to respect him, he gets humiliated and executed
SHES FUCKING IRISH????
LETSGOOOOOO
Her accent was sooooo good as dedra id never have known
Lmao, a W for cardoor
Right?
You KNOW that "who are you" hit deep
He basically tried save dedra even after everything (while taking it out on the guy who fucked up his life) and at the end of it all? Neither of them gave a fuck about him
Looks like you’re being represented lol
There's more of us in Hollywood than you think
the irish are taking over!
Not that many
Fuck why did I click on this lol
Been there before
Defo easy 9/10 and if I wanted to be really nice it would be 10
Nice
What episode does ||Luthen|| die
I might just get blasted before watching that episode to hopefully not remember the spoiler
I think you should just go in full tilt if you’re planning on getting blasted beforehand without knowing
A great season that starts off pretty bad but after episode 3 is just peak
Ends on an absolute banger too
I kneel before peak fiction
Watching Rogue One now for the full experience
Confirming that this makes Rogue One twice as good just the scene where he meets the informant
Adds so much to it
The context it’s just chefs kiss
Do you think when Saw hits his breathing mask there’s actually fuel in there not air?
That’s my head canon
This show really does make Rogue One hit differently
Also this is a really bad week for Palpatine huh
ISB loses a ton of their best staff, his best Admiral is lost in the unknown regions, and the Death Star blows up
Man this Andor finale is crazy they brought this random Jyn person in and they’re focusing on her a lot for some reason but otherwise it’s crazy
Also there’s this random dude with a goofy helmet that Krennic went to talk to idk what that’s about
maybe thats the emperor palpatine mon mothma mentioned?
I actually felt something when Andor died bravo Tony Gilroy
Andor did for Rogue One what TCW did for ROTS
But better
The hallway scene is extra wild going straight from Andor which is super grounded
Also I’m just now noticing all the call forwards in Andor as well lol
Im sorry but this is cope
Anakin in the prequels and Anakin in TCW are 2 completely different characters
Nah it's true
Comparing it to Andor is hilarious
It's still a big impact
Not really
There's barely anything tying TCW to revenge of the sith
Aside from chronologically happening next to each other
I just saw what Tony Gilroy was saying what Disney was originally going to do with Andor and thank goodness we dodged a bullet
In the sense that it makes me appreciate it more
Unless there's some ground breaking advancement in VFX you couldn't and there wouldn't be much point original trilogy was as much a showcase for VFX and cutting edge filmaking as it is anything else
I don't think VFX matters
For star wars it does that's one of the main reasons it made pop off in the first place
Sure when Star Wars first came out but nowadays it doesn't matter
Andor basically has barely any vfx
As much as it may irritate me but the majority of people who go see Star wars movies go for the explosions and big cgi block buster movie stuff
I guess it could change at time goes on tho
Like you said
They go to see a fun light hearted adventure
Since star wars doesn't have the cultural relevance it used too
They go to see big explosions and lasers dawg 😭
The reason it no longer is relevant is because it shot itself
There is a reason why Disney panders constantly to the lowest common denominator
If people wanted to see lasers and explosions then people would have liked book of boba Fett and Mandalorian season 3
That's not an argument that exists anymore
Had some of the largest drops in viewership
Was that show super action heavy? I know it was towards the end but it felt more like nostalgia bait slop than some big epic Micheal Bay movie
Really wish they didn't make Cad Bane so funny lookin
And I wish they did more tusken raider stuff
It doesn't matter how good something looks it matters if it's written well
Episode 2 with the tuskins was my favorite part of the show
It's so blatantly apparent with Andor that good writing triumphs all
I initially hated it too cuz I was like "ughhh the sand people they're fucking lame I don't care about them 😫" then I ended up loving them
Hell Mandalorian sunk because of how bad the writing was
The 1st season was my favorite
Season 3 was such huge mess and all over the place
Because it was written better
The writing is the #1 most important part of film making
Btw did you finish Andor
Yes
Why were you disappointed
I like the 1st season way more
Wayyyy too short and a lot of plot threads just happen that don't lead anywhere or anywhere significant. Plus the first 3 episodes were hella boring for me and unfortunately don't really lead to anything and felt like a huge waste of time. You spend 3 episodes with Andor stuck with some annoying ass rebels you never see again. They spend way too much time on that wedding even though you never even see mothmas daughter again. Heck the dad is only shown again for like 5 seconds in an end of the show montage etc. I also really wish they did the 5 seasons as was initially planned
I was really disappointed Syril and Deedra's relationship ended so fast that was super entertaining how dysfunctional they were but then I realize ohhhh I was supposed to get multiple seasons of this
I also don't like doing so many time skips cuz I really wanted to explore that underground era of the rebellion then like halfway around the show were like year before yavin battle already 🥲
Is this channel allowed to enjoy themselves yet?
I agree this show deserved more time to flesh everything out
I’m happy with what we got but it would have been awesome to see what we missed out on
No
never
What kind of episode viewing frequency should I watch this season boys?
Just wing it and binge watch or say two episodes at a time? Or three episodes at a time?
3 at a time is the best way to watch it
Though you could watch 2 or even 1 if you can stand the pace
3 at a time
The episodes are still very whole themselves
Alr ty lads
I wonder how long Dedra lasted
probs stepped out into the hall one night
she became shift manager
nah
Yeah
shes out in like 6 years
6 years of that
She's not surviving
Keep in mind there's a second Death Star they're working on
google "labour camps"
Star Wars prison is not the same as irl
Given flavorless food and worked to death yeah she definitely went crazy and stepped on the floor or dies of exhaustion
And worse case scenario she survives until the Empires defeat they're probably killing all the prisoners anyway
reminder that the old guy in S1 was in there for ages
Narkina 5 was a special prison planet specifically building top secret stuff there's no way they don't bump everyone working there while they can
assuming
Also also Dedra is not in a good mindset already
She is absolutely considering the floor
assuning
That's not assuming the last shot of her in the show is her in a state of distress
It's 100% intended to be her end
yeah, stuck in prison
The death prison
until shes out in like 6 years
Assuming
NR would liberate it
How
Imperial protocol post Emperor's death was kill everything
that was project cinder which was something completely different
No that was everything yes there were specific targets however especially with the context clues given from Andor, Narkina 5 would be a total annihilation procedure
Get rid of any evidence
assuming
That's a pretty good assumption
Given the prison already killed entire floors because some information leaked out
based on stuff you made up in your head just now
Did you watch Andor
dude shes dead
but she isnt
shes suicidal
but she isnt
well they'd kill all the prisoners anyway!
based on...?
UHHH DID YOU WATCH THE SHOW
did you?
You are conviently missing out all of the context clues and evidence that supports that
assuming
That's all you've had to say
I could also assume that a NR ship would come in, tell the officers to stand down or die and they'd stand down
Based off what
Because that's what they did in Andor right
Yes
The show makes a very big point of showing literally every character getting rid of any and all loose ends
The Empire is based off of the Axis forces in WW2.
But guys the empire wouldn't kill the prisoners they wouldn't stand for that
never said they wouldnt
Omg shut up Theory
I just said that you're assuning
That's clearly what the show implies
It's a pretty good assumption
Her fate is left implied that she dies at the prison
They don't show her dying because they have confidence that the audience can put 2 and 2 together
This
Theory 💀
clearly you need to be because you're putting 2+2 together and coming up with 17
it is written as an end, yes
but nowhere does it imply death
We're just making assumptions
which ive been saying this entire time
And then we'll go round in circles again and again
It would be like showing a character looking at the gallows before cutting to black and then being like uh you're just assuming that character dies ☝️ 🤓
if the writers wanted her to die
why nit just have krennic shoot her in the back of the head
Well if we're given enough clues, that could easily be their fate.
"Nar, I'll put ya in prison, mate."
why didnt the writers just have krennic make her do this
Guys don't worry she's just in a death camp but she's fine
labour camp
Death camp
Can we just drop this conversation? This is getting repetitive.
The entire plot twist of the prison arc was that it was a death camp
guy who clearly doesnt understand WW2 tries discussing WW2 related subjects

Ah yes all labor camps systematically designed to kill everyone working at it
It's almost like there's a word for that
theres a difference between "worked to death" and "lets just kill a bunch of people because we can at random intervals"
They kill them because they're liabilities
They're working on the death Star which even if they don't know anything about is still a threat to the biggest secret in the galaxy
theres no indication that shes dead
And they literally do kill people at random intervals
They kill an entire floor of prisoners simply because they learned the truth
i.e "not random intervals"
The intention is 100% everyone working here is going to die
your entire argument is based on assumptions and thus pretty fucking weak
thats like saying X character died "because they fell down something" even though its a common trope that its a way to write a haracter out of a particular story without killing them
I guess Filoni shows really did more damage to people than I expected
if she was meant to die
why didnt the writers just kill her
have her executed for being a traitor, easy
krennic straight up tells zesty ISB guy that if he fails him, he's being added to the fallen heroes roll of the ISB
Do you really need it spelled out to you?
