The thing is that type of degree is normally meant to be combined with another degree. This is where right-wing talking points get it wrong.
For example, if you study law and want a focus in women's rights, when a gender studies degree would be ideal for getting alongside a law degree
Obviously, those that study only gender studies will really struggle, because that's not really what the degree is meant for. I actually don't think people typically study only gender studies (I don't know anyone that has?)
But it does piss me off to see this subject stigmatized and even banned in some places. It's meant to elevate people who want to put a focus on gender in a field that already has plenty of jobs
