parties aside, electing someone with 34 felony counts is insane, and the fact that people flex his felonies is even weirder?? like how are you bragging about the fact he has been convicted of felonies
That being said, felons should have rights restored when they come out of prison
So at least we have the precedent that felon can become president.
They can through the impeachment process. Unfortunately, it's shown itself to be an inefficient process
Yeah, I know, but like it's important that we don't just have a president taken out of their job.
Supreme Court says otherwise 🤸♀️
The President of the United States, or should I say, The King…
true, but imo if a president is corrupt / is a literal criminal, they should not be the president
Corruption is different than being a convicted criminal
i mean, both apply in this case.
but i meant as like an either or. and legitametly nobody who is a convicted felon should be holding office
why not?
plenty of felons get out of the penal system and function perfectly fine on the outside
Felons are people too
A lot of crimes are felonies and shouldn't be.
Like certain repeat offenses become felonies that shouldn't be.
Criminal drug possession is a felony
But people have issues with addiction regardless
Some people just sell drugs to survive
Making a blanket statement that all felons don't deserve normal rights of citizenship is not really cool.
ig if you've broken the law multiple times and purposefully like he has, (especially since his felonies were related to his first presidential run) you don't really have any business upholding it
I agree that Trump isn't fit to hold the office, but like other felons? Plenty of felons could do a great job at being in government and campaign on things like criminal justice reform to improve outcomes for inmates and/or work on improving outcomes for kids who grow up in poverty.
They have first hand experience on how the system abuses people who don't have many other options.
yeah ofc but the fact most felons can't get a job for the most minor of things but he can be president despite 34 felony counts of intentionally falsifying business records? just unfair
It is unfair!
but there’s a difference between felon and felon
trump’s 100% felon energy
but also, isn’t the president supposed to be the face of the country? if it’s common knowledge that the president has committed crimes, why should people respect them?
@wide pawn The media really pushes that the left hates the right and the right hates the left. They live off of division.
Far leftists are the same as well. Extreme sides of the spectrum are pretty deaf to anyone outside of their belief system.
25% on one of your biggest markets 😍
And the economy is already dropping cause of that
See if you can guess when Trumps message went out
The thing with trump is he just says things, doesn’t think about how terrible the consequences will be, but he knows his followers will hear “tariffs on foreigners” and think YES!!!
well, this is gonna make politics in canada more interesting
(what do you agree with former president trump, candidate for prime minister? well his tariff plan was amazing) would be a career ender
Ah for fuck sake.
Ig my critique is that people who are a convicted felon cannot like have federal jobs (im pretty sure) or vote. So to be able to hold office is a weird thing to me. Not in a felons arent people way tho😭
right, like in chicago if youre a convicted felon you cant even be a garbageman
thats why i was so surprised when trump won 😭
Everybody was surpised🙁
I know the constitution technically doesn't state that a felon cannot hold office, but I'm pretty sure there are laws that a felon cannot hold a federal job. And is the president not a federal job
I could also just be completely wrong
yeah i thought so too but here we are... 😰
I'm almost interested to see how it plays out tbh
literally went to france last year & im so painfully american looking and the only thing so many said to me was like “ahh trump? 🤮 i’m sorry!!!”
garbagemen make a lot of money actually its a taxing job
Is this real?
It recovered, but yes.
Whats your source from where?
Robinhood app lol I play stocks for a living
You can buy and sell SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) and other ETFs, stocks, and their options commission-free on Robinhood with real-time quotes, market data, and relevant news. Other Robinhood Financial fees may apply, check rbnhd.co/fees for details.
The drop last night was what you call an “algo” move. Meaning a bunch of computers read “Trump + Tariff” and reacted negatively on their own.
Faster than any human could.
It was a big drop in the short term, it has no long term effects though. We’ll have to wait for the actual tariff for that.
I refuse to use robinhood
I only use fidelity for stocks
My money is in webull. I just prefer the RH charts to look at.

3 weeks after counting, the democrat in California's 13th district just overtook the incumbent Republican
If this holds, this would mean democrats actually gained in the house of Representatives
California takes a very, very long time to count their ballots.

It’s giving a certain someone from 80 years ago
That image looks like straight up AI as well 😭
Probably Is yeah
That is a PAC created by and for white supremacists that only has a website for donations and no information on them. I am not sure it makes much sense to use them as an example to call an entire political party Nazi
This one in fact is aimed at directly fighting the traditional Republicans and replace them with loyalists
I mean that's how 99% of conservatives/Republicans are
Including ones already in government positions
They all want America to go back to the 50s and 60s
They've outright admitted to wanting to make it so women, lgbtq+ people, and people of color can't vote anymore and have no rights
That's literally why they are called conservatives
They want to "conserve traditional things"
Anything modern Is bad to them
Being conservative doesn’t necessarily mean you’re anti-modern
It's kinda in the name
eh not really republicans back in the day wanted to get rid of slavery
Republicans back then were liberals and democrats were conservatives. Republican and conservative are not the same thing.
Liberal literally just means you want progress. Conservative means you want things to go back
Let's not do the whole "Back in the day, the parties were the opposite" trap here.
What matters is what they stand for now in the year of our Lord 2024
Dixiecrats flocked over to the Republican party after the Civil Rights movement because they were racist af
That's why the South is so deeply Republican now
Perhaps, but people are multifaceted.
Like I have some conservative views on some things, then more liberal ones on others, its ignorant to brand all conservatives as one thing, and then brand liberals as something distinct
Based on population estimates, elections after 2030 are going to be almost impossible for Democrats to win if they don't start looking at new states
GA, NC, and AZ seem the most likely to shift bluer. Texas is a possible but very hard to reach
Poor rhode island, losing 1
Texas is impossible at this point
Texas is more red than New York is blue
i thought texas was getting bluer and bluer each election?
"Texas is going blue" has been a thing for 50 years now. It never happens. Texas shifted even further red this time
A map of the 2024 election if the electoral college votes were based on the 2030 population estimates
republicans haven't won the popular vote in decades this is so weird
This might help put it into perspective
this is kinda happening everywhere even in europe
Every incumbent party in the world is losing elections due to the after effects of covid. Inflation is everywhere, and it was unstoppable after the pandemic.
The thing is, Democrats actually did better than any other incumbent party in the western world
And America is one of the most well off nations after covid
"i don't believe in you having basic rights to self determination" "why can't i come to thanksgiving?"😭

insanity
You know what's going to suck? buying food because of how high the stores are going to put there prices to combat these tariffs
It's already hard to get food like wtf
But some of you guys don't believe in any of progect 2025 till it happens to you
Most people don’t understand struggle until it happens to them. They only understand struggle that they’ve experienced.
Which is CRAZY to me like do people really not have empathy
Yeah. It’s fucked.
such a unifying message💀
he always knows just what to say to make me smile 🥰🥰🥰😍😍
how sweet
so glad i work hard to destroy this country 💖
We love destroying the country as middle class citizens 🥰🥰🥰
And its definitely not the corporations fault that piles thousands upon thousands of pollution into the environment, buys up housing from normal people to resell and rent at an extreme up charge and charges regular day products at and unaffordable price 😝😝
Landslide victory
gets under 50% of the popular vote
Is this ai family
Fucking cringe.
Because there focusing on news that has been manipulated
Oh ya we are dead 😊
feel like the iraq war should be written there next to bush
biden did more for us than we will ever know or recognize truly love him or hate him he got his shit done i'll say that much

yikes
So Kamala tanked?
yes 😂
hmmm...
I mean at this point why not
Like.... the double standard is so wild
double standard? from who?
the media?
Trump can commit like 1000 crimes and backtrack like everything he does and then Biden pardons his son and suddenly democrats are the issue
ohhh right i get you
I kinda expected Biden to backtrack. It's... whatever. I just accept there's no accountability for anyone in power anymore
Are we really surprised? I think we all expected him to do this. I don’t think it is ok to do this. Like ofc trump is going to do worse but still
It demonstrates the corruption of politics, on all sides of it… whether its the party you support or not
Trump got stamped a felon.
And the country can use that against him til the day he dies.
Joe gets his son off with a pardon. The two are not comparable.
Trump's just gonna pressure the charges to be dropped. He already got Jack Smith to drop the incoming charges about attempting to start a damn insurrection
He's also going to 110% pardon all the January 6th rioters that stormed the Capitol and wanted to kill Mike Pence
He won't be put in jail or face any punishment
He still has that scarlet letter.
Not that it matters
He's not going to face any real consequences for trying to overthrow an election
According to some of the news sources I have seen, those individuals were found guilty of nothing and sat in jail for over a year and lost that part of their life. Not sure what is real and what is fake, but to hold any person for a crime that they did not commit is absolute trash and the court system should pay for the lost time in their life. I believe that about anyone held in prison.
Being branded a felon and having that used against him has been decent leverage for the left. The problem is, that is leverage. Joe got his son out of that before he could get his scarlet letter.
This scarlet letter you're thinking of isn't based on anyone facing real consequences. Hunter Biden won't face consequences. He'll forever be some coke head who committed crimes. Isn't that basically a scarlet letter?
Like, what's the difference between both sides having criminals who clearly won't face consequences for their actions
What did he do again i cant remember
Illegal possession of a gun or something
Hunter? Illegal gun possession and illegal drug possession.
Who is branded a felon?
Nowhere near as bad as trying to incite a violent mob to kill your vice president and overthrow the election but... yeah
Does it matter who's branded as what when they don't face consequences
Like... Trump should be in fucking prison rn
This is the first I have heard about anyone trying to kill anyone. Is this factual or media propaganda?
At least it wasnt murder or r*** but still sucks he is getting away with that shit
According to Jack Smith's filing that Trump pressured him to stop, Trump KNEW that Mike Pence was in danger because people were trying to kill him. Trump responded with "so what?"
Allegedly Biden's daughter accused him of doing things to her when she was younger. That was swept under the rug.
That's fucked up
Oh ok thats fucked up
Trump advised more security at the White House from all of the publications and interviews I have seen.
Biden isn't innocent, Trump isn't innocent. The point is that if Trump isn't going to face consequences, then I care less if Hunter Biden doesn't
But not at the Capitol where an angry mob actually was?
He waited 3 fucking hours before doing anything
I think Trump faced more consequences than Hunter is what I am saying. I agree with you that more accountability should be dished out to both.
What consequences?
He advised day(s) before?
But Trump also hasn't spent a day in prison. He's about to be president again. There were no consequences
Being legally branded a felon. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen that used against him in the media.
He still didn't want to call off the mob when he was told the Vice President is in real danger
Yeah but like
What consequences
Did it stop him from doing anything?
Did he pay anything out?
People brought a guillotine. They were legit going to hang Mike Pence if they found him and Trump didn't care
Did he spend any time incarcerated?
There were no consequences. The consequence was having a record which usually disqualifies you from a lot of jobs but those jobs weren't ones he was interested in.
Being called a felon and actually being treated like a felon are 2 VERY different things. Felons don't get elected president.
Also, hey, buddy. If I told my mom, "you should buy a fire extinguisher" and then 4 days later, I threw a molotov inside the house. I don't think I can claim I warned my mom.
When you label one person a felon, but not another, who had consequences dished out?
What consequences???
A criminal record?
Being called a felon isn't a consequence.
You are crying for "more". Okay. I get that. But that IS a consequence.
Criminal records are meant to deter people from future employment and other opportunities. CLEARLY THAT DIDN'T WORK
It can still be used against him later.
How?
He's about to be the most powerful person in the world
If I got blocked by someone on Twitter that I never interact with, is it a consequence? Yeah, sure. But I never interacted with them so like...what were the adverse effects to me?
Effectively, it's like nothing happened at all.
Like... HOW can he possibly be put any lower after being the most powerful person in the world
I am sure there are probably people working behind the scenes to leverage that and get him ousted from office. Maybe in 2025. 2026. Down the line even once he can no longer run... the record is there.
I think if one person had any sort of legal repercussions doled out, that the others in power should have the same.
I mean I don't doubt people will try but just because he's a felon. It doesn't mean he can't legally be President.
Or the others in power and those related.
He'll have control over the world's strongest economy. The world's strongest military. The most influential country in the world.
He can bully states into dropping charges by withholding funding (he was about to withhold funding to California during the wildfires in his first term. The only thing that stopped him was when he learned they affected Republican areas)
He was elected, that's it.
He'll either delay the cases which were already themselves delayed during his first term or just have them dropped or maybe the state charges themselves will fall into the hands of a friendlier prosecutor or government and drop it themselves.
I have a hard time empathizing with that when FEMA withheld federal aid to hurricane victims in various states solely from yard decorations affiliated with Republicans.
Bend the knee, so to speak
That's not even true...
But it is.
It was true for one guy
It is in the news. That woman was interviewed and said it came from the higher ups in FEMA.
Okay, fine, but like there goes the problem of using public funds as political games. Trump did it first, doesn't make it right if democrats do it either
It happened in multiple cities and states, not just Florida. People died. People were dying. People were stranded and trapped. I cannot hear out an a argument about California when people in Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas suffered and no one batted an eyelash.
I agree. I identify as moderate and i am pissed at the finger pointing, the blame games, etc.
Don't see any news saying it happened outside of Florida
And again, the person was fired
There needs to be accountability across the board and we the people need to encourage that instead of picking sides.
And Florida and just Florida appears to be suing FEMA
The woman who was fired stated it in an interview. I will try to source it.
Trump tried to deny aid to blue states during Covid. People were dying. The economy was tanking. My governor had to kiss ass and get supplies sent in without Trump's help.
It's messed up all around
I agree.
I'm just gonna hold my breathe and brace for the next 4 years. We're in for a wild ride
Hold your breath and keep your head down.
Im just waiting for my death at this point and im just gonna ride the wave til i get there
Hope that the sitting dumbass stays that way and gets distracted every week by some shiny new thing
I'm kinda thinking Trump won't live through his second term. The man is obese, almost 80, and eats McDonald's every day
🤞🏻
Let's hope that doesn't happen.
He almost died when he got covid. If not for the best healthcare in the world and experimental anti-body treatments, he'd be dead
Of course, nobody is wishing death. I just legit don't think he's got much longer
Really??? Idk that
Yeah, October 2020. He was on the brink of death
Yeah, Trump got COVID. It was a whole thing.
Damn smh
He got it from an event when he appointed his last supreme court justice. Everyone there got it. Chris Christie almost died too. Christie actually became pro-mask because of it
But yeah, kinda ironic that politicians in America get the best healthcare in the world, paid entirely by the taxpayer, and those same politicians are trying to repeal the ACA which insures millions of low-income Americans
We're at the point where millions of Americans want "Obamacare" repealed not knowing it's the same thing as the ACA insurance that they're on
EXCLUSIVE: Fired FEMA worker denies wrongdoing, says Fla. homes skipped due to MAGA verbal attacks on workers
A Federal Emergency Management Agency fired one of their workers for allegedly directing workers not to aid hurricane survivors with Trump signs on their property.
About 20 Lake Placid, Florida homes were skipped and did not receive d...
The problem is she talked about it, but the quicker it got swept under the rug and hushed, the less investigation and accountability there will be.
She was just an easy scapegoat because she got caught, so all eyes and fingers are pointed on her.
Tends to be the corporate way.
She was a whistleblower once she got caught. Sad, corrupt stuff. I hate every inch of our government. We need a huge reform.
I do remember that the response was that Trump supporters were being avoided because a lot of them in the Florida area mentioned on social media that they would shoot FEMA workers if they approached them
the quicker it got swept under the rug and hushed
Florida is suing
You think DeStantis is gonna let this slip from his fingers?
Because that was where that employee was managing.
Heck no. I mean in the other states she alluded to.
She was the one who got found out, so she is going to take the brunt of the transgression while damage control goes out everywhere else.
As is the way. Sadly.
I mean, if they find evidence in the Florida case that there's some truth to what she's alleging, the other states can definitely sue
Hopefully so. I know that there were cases where aid applications were practically immediately denied in the Carolinas. I believe that is being investigated.
I just wanted to provide context to what I said earlier. 🫶🏻
I will because it isnt talked about anymore. The election is. The Republicans that were just elected up there are being talked about.
I meant socially. Not here.
Okay
I understand this forum. ☠️
It was such a "huge platform" that people leveraged during the times leading up to the elections... "AND THEEEN"...
Nothing. Crickets. As is the norm. ☠️
Can't wait for sequel
Everyone's pretty quiet this time around
now THIS is who i voted for
i think talking about Hunter Biden without acknowledging what Biden has gone through in regards to losing THREE children and also he no longer hurts the president by pardoning his son. If Kamala won he wouldn’t have because it would reflect poorly on her but he has nothing left to lose.
anyway ARTE FACT 2025
If you were a father, you’d 100% do the same thing
Hunter got felony charges for: paying his taxes late
And
Ticking a box when buying a firearm saying he ‘was not under the influence’ when he was
These are clearly bad, and misdemeanours, but no way are they convictions lol
Yet Trump pardons Ivanka’s husband’s father who did very dodgy financial dealings and told his sister to shut up by using blackmail
Trump then put him as Chief of negotiations with France.
Id definitely do the same thing. Presidents have a power that I think is honestly OP but if it exists... it shall be used...
Trumps Justice department would’ve went after Hunter. It’s good he was pardoned.
Yeah, honestly
I think the presidential pardon is generally kind of stupid but if the country is gonna elect a convicted felon I think anything is game at this point and I think Biden deserves to pardon his son
Period
Like people shouldn't really freak out because like we voted a FELON so like people are basically dramatizing what Biden did to his son
Simply put, Trump supporters who complain about the hypocrisy of Biden pardoning his son are arguing in bad faith. They clearly don't give a shit. They support Trump.
Trump pardoned a lot of people who didn't deserve it
So... yeah I really don't care if Biden pardoned his son
His crimes were tax evasion and gun possession. You'd think Trump supporters would find that based

just remembered we could have had al gore in 2000
Yeah, maybe if Clinton didn't have a scandal we would have
If the Supreme Court wasn't a bunch of fucking hacks, you could've
Aww the first lady didn't get his way 😂
Wild
I'm surprised by how much i don't care that he did
We elected a convicted felon. Justice is dead
imagine if canada became a state lol
I'd would run because that's how the start of ww2 was Hitler started to take control of the countrys
So if thst happens he would try to put south America as a "state"
And try to continue and that's terrifying.
well south korea is imploding in on itself
Yeah Quebec would be its own country if that happens
yes they shot it down no thr military is not listening
It's scary I don't want to be in the vas part of history because of this.
well like i said it seems south korea is tumbling towards something and that will impact the usa
Whats tge ysa
usa*
Like what?
we have so many troops stationed there
south korea going under gives DPRK a place to come in too
That’s why Nixon resigned after watergate and we elected ford? (Both were republicans)
We never elected Ford, he just took over as VPs do. He lost his actual election
My bad. True then if jimmy carter was the next elected.
Dem poster child right there
Justice has been dead as long as some punishments were things you could pay off.
If the penalties for breaking a law are paying the fine cost, then it’s not an equal punishment
If the penalty for a crime is a fine, then that law only exists for the lower class.
If the penalty for a crime is erased by winning president:
There's Nordic countries that fine people as a proportion of income. I think a rich dude once got like 100k ticket for speeding
Honestly it should be that way
The final House race was just called
Imagine that, in a year Trump won, democrats actually have a net gain in the House of Representatives
The House majority will be so narrow they may struggle to do anything significant at all. They barely were able to anything this last term, and now it's even more narrow
Democratic policies won in most states, but so did trump. Proves a few things
People favor democratic policies and don’t realize their cult leader opposes them, or, that they want him to reconcile the policies they voted on.
we're about to get the biggest "I told you so" in modern history with these tariffs
Literally
I'm kinda half thinking he won't end up doing them because his billionaire friends wouldn't like it
Look to what Trump does, not what he says
this better not i swear
Wtf like did he see history
Like they didn't generational trama is thriving in black community
He’s banned every book in the state so probably never read on history
I really do not want it to be a repeat of world war two I would not like to have concentration camps in the united states.Thank you very much
And then being haunted by the scars that go on in there. No thank you.
It's really sad, because a lot of people are going to forget, and people have already forgotten what happened during the two world wars and before
Like legit anybody remember pearl harbor
Most of that generation is dead now.
Like legit, world war two started because hitler, with followers because of a manifesto, promising all these things and blaming a minority group, seems familiar?
i-
Former Donald Trump advisor Gina Loudon accuses ‘Wicked’ of being racist against white people and says Ariana Grande is “obviously Hispanic”:
"The racism and the racial appropriation I just thought was offensive, frankly." https://t.co/RaPFOeHt34
Huh????????
I’m done.
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK im dead
I HEARD THIS EARLIER its almost funny if it weren't for the fact this is our government
Yep
Oh, this lady has no idea what she's talking about
This person full on has click bait in the brain.I bet she just doesn't have fun when she goes to amusement parks.
Yeah, I feel bad for the people who are basically the frogs that are getting boiled in a pot that's slowly turning up.
Trump will blame China
I mean yeah what did they think would happen
Better buy your electronics now while you can
To my knowledge, this is a reply to the Biden's administration's tightening of US exports of microchips to China, not exactly Trump's fault but Trump's tariffs will definitely make it worse. This might be a double-move because they can use these bans to bargain with Trump. Speaking of bargaining chips, gallium and germanium are things Canada also exports so...
Well, people wanna blame Biden for inflation start started under Trump, they shall blame Trump for policies started under Biden
Good thing i got a new phone recently 😭
Yeah I just got my gaming PC set up too, probably would cost a fortune if the prices were to drive up 😭
😭 i was gonna try buying a new car soon cuz my dad wants me to get something s little newer thsn what i got but NEVERMIND ig
Stuck with my old ass car for awhile more now
I hate American cars but those might be the only thing I can afford if his tariffs go into effect
My toyota prius is 12 years old with over 250 miles on it and still works! American cars break down after like 8-10 years 😭
I have a 2002 toyota corrolla 😭
I literally cant 😭
honestly i want a Xiaomi Su7
pre-90s american cars are great
i LOVEEE my fords even the 90s were good
Then came planned obsolescence
When companies realized that they can make more money by building things not to last
THAT WAS A PLAN??????
Yes
Jfc
Yes. Fun fact, Oklahoma is the only state where every county voted Trump
Yuck
Noooo not west virginia 😭😭😭 my great grandparents r from there
country roads....
okay im glad they blocked it but the fact they had to block it in the first place... 😰
They bloked it so at least they know that sounds crazy lol
At least they have something sane in there head.
GIRL WHAT
ok but ari looks so pretty here wow
This lady is stuped
the ceo shooter lookalike contest is happening now in washington square park @PopCrave @PopBase
Omg
oh thats not...

A lot of conservatives love liberal policies. They've just been fooled into thinking they're conservative policies
Healthcare reform is very widely supported
Period
I hope this is a sign for a revolution for the working class
Idk, the wealth gap is currently worse than it was during the French Revolution when they freaking took down the monarchy 😭
it’s important to me that you know they reinstated the monarchy after this. Plus the person who actually reinstated the monarchy was Napoleon Bonaparte so
Q. Can you guarantee that consumers won’t pay more because of your tariffs?
Trump: "I can't guarantee anything. I can't guarantee tomorrow."
https://t.co/Ij7uinlvpU

Can’t wait for those high prices to hit
This is what America voted for.
I mean, technically, that is a correct statement, anything can happen in 24-48 hours that can vastly shift prices, but still, this will increase prices without increasing domestic production (due a lack of infrastructure, interest to build and upgrade it, cost of domestic workers, etc.)
So, I guess America is getting what it voted for
Make America Greatly Depressed Again
It is in fact what people voted for though
But why. ..
Well it’s the truth.
Where's the lie
But it is what America voted for
People can’t learn otherwise.
Wow he just dodged it and sayed well if you guys remember my economy when I was president it was great...like girl....we are not talking about 2016...
The Germans didn’t realize Hitler was a bad pick until they had bombs dropping on top of their heads. That’s just how it has to happen sometimes
True people will learn "why can't I buy anything" like it's because of what you voted for lol
Period
we forgetting mein kampf exists or..
we forgetting his whole political career prior to the ||holocaust|| was full of anti jewish propaganda...
they knew exactly what they were voting for
Perhaps, but the context of the situation (incredible Post-War Depression, skyrocketing inflation) was probably a reason, people began to scapegoat the blame to “outgroups”
Sigh…yes they knew what they were voting for, and they didn’t see any problem with it until it blew up in their faces.
Consequences have to be felt
they didn't want hitler, at all. they literally set the reichstag on fire a month after he became chancellor 😭 and because of this, the nazis (the police who were controlled by the nazis) mass arrested members of reichstag, which made room for the nazi party members to take their place
hitler was only made chancellor due to pressure and the disliking of communism iirc
tbh germany was just extremely radicalised very quickly by the nazi party
i’m gonna correct meli here for a second just because I can, but Germany only accepted Hitler so fast because of world war because they felt isolated from the rest of the world and like they were being punished unfairly, they were primed for radical fascist views
millie
i didn't do history in school im guessing off the top of my head 😭
also let's not compare trump to hitler
meli I am literally using speech to text and I forgot to correct your name on it
LMAO
sorry the semantics side of me is screaming
i feel like its more that the literal american people voted for him. not the country.
he goes against what the country stands for (which, in history, has been hypocritical but thats beside the point), but goes with the american people's stance if i'm making any sense
that makes complete sense
to me anyway
im not sure if making sense to me is a good or a bad thing 😭
😭😭 at least one person understands
However what was said is true. There is no lie to the statement I made. That’s what the America wanted and that’s what they will get
4 years of pain and misery with trump.
americans
americans wanted this
not america as a country
that said, i don't disagree with your point
Like said before there is no lie in what I said. Nor am I gonna go into detail and say x amount of ppl wanted this and y amount of ppl wanted smth else.
That's just semantics
thats what i said
All i know is i didnt vote for this fuckass orange dude 😭 and im gonna suffer consequences of it anyway
We all are gonna suffer consequences of it, whether we voted for him or Kamala or independent.
There is a general shift toward far right and fascist policies worldwide. It's all part of the late stage capitalism we're experiencing.
We're either headed for revolution or collapse.
or one then the other
Unless we can somehow stop corporations form contributing so heavily to our political system
We should all be mad at corporations for most of this bullshit horror we're experiencing in our country.
FUCK CORPORATIONS
There's a reason people aren't that mad about the United Healthcare CEO
If y'all haven't been radicalized by something in the last year I don't know what to do for you.
But let's cap this for a bit until eras is over for real. 😭 I need to weep about things other than our collective lot in life as the workers of the world.
so true 😭😭
Yeah because it is easier to blame some "group" of people rather than thinking and realizing the system is broken
lotta poor low education rural right wingers aren't mad about it either, they're the ones going to get most hurt by Trump's upcoming policies. the 40 thousand XD emojies on the facebook post aren't socialists they're your boomer aunt and uncle
because it's a lot more work to redo the system than to get rid of a group that wants to fix the system.
"No, the president cannot end birthright citizenship by executive order
Trump says he will sign an executive order ending automatic citizenship for children of “illegal aliens” in his second term. Experts agree that’s unconstitutional"
i wish i was kidding i just saw this headline and tage line
like I said, most revolutions are violent. that was a shot in that direction
i was initially against calling him hot but then i saw the new pictures and i retracted my statement
i mean he has morals, he went to an ivy, he's employed.
well probably not employed anymore
lol oops
he showed us what its REALLY LIKE to crash out
Simply no choice but to Stan
Did he just fix partisan politics? Did he finally unite us against the real enemy? Is it open season on CEOs? Only time will tell.
Just buy your stuff now and wait for the chaos to unfold
Hot
Mama I'm in love with a criminal
Oh i think so at least the ons who are corrupted
And now is the perfect time to utilize community garden plots and farmers markets if at all possible. Let’s feed each other through this.
He is flipping what he is doing so people can go along with it and we wont.
Period we are going to have to use the food markets
For goods now
There are SOOOO MANY zero waste and no buy groups that trade/give away/barter gently used goods so please use the ones in your community too
I’m literally talking anything you can think of. like from shoes to blenders
I wish we could bring back bartering
Like that whole system was great cuz there was no money which means people just traded stuff they wanted/needed
Without the worry of equivalent exchange
oh this is beautiful
yes yes yesssss
Not where i live lol
It’s totally less accessible in less populated areas but you also live a day trip away from a college town. There 100% is some sort of fb or insta group for that.
You can also start one with your friends for your neighborhood!
Hmm that sounds fun
I get that person of the year is based on impact and not how good of a person they are but it’s so crazy to me that a rapist just got named time person of the year
I guess hitler got it in 1938
Whoever gets elected President is always named Person of the Year
Thats fucking crazy
again, the president elect is NOT always named person of the year, they are just more likely to
theres been a few times where it has not been a president elect
as far as i can remember, it was obama, trump, kamala and joe biden, and now trump again
so for the past decade its been the president elect
person of the year has been a thing for almost a century
or has it been a century yet idk
ik and im looking at it now, and so far i've got 2 obamas for his 2 terms
2 bush
and the man/men of the year has also been bill clinton
the other bush
reagan x2
carter
nixon (twice but once on the election year)
lyndon b johnson x2
jfk
einsenhower
truman x2
FDR (a couple times but not all on election year?)
i literally said they're more likely to get it but they don't get it everytime they're elected
1996 it wasn't clinton, 1988 it wasn't bush (1988 wasn't a person anyway), etc.
i said there's been a few times where it has not been a president elect, a few.
im not saying they don't usually get it
mb i didnt read it correctly
i looked it up and i can't find anything about the reasoning for presidents getting it, it just says "The chosen person is usually someone who has been notably influential or prominent during the year and could also be a hero or villain. It is externally oriented, unlike most awards. It's given to someone who has no affiliation with the awarding organization."
it wasn't clinton in 1996 because it was dr.david ho for his work in hiv/aids research. which was 100% more influential and important
but i get what your saying i think
wait this lowkey goes hard
not always
this only goes to 2019 but https://public.opendatasoft.com/explore/dataset/times-person-of-the-year/table/?flg=en-us&sort=year
TIME's Person of the Year hasn't always secured his or her place in the history books, but many honorees remain unforgettable: Gandhi, Khomeini, Kennedy, Elizabeth II, the Apollo 8 astronauts Anders, Borman and Lovell. Each has left an indelible mark on the world.TIME's choices for Person of the Year are often controversial. Editors are asked to...
Wasn’t know to be complicit in a genocide at the time

Complicit is a generous word 😭
It's been a month since Trump won
had to leave for a bit cause it was toxic af but I'm back
Now we wait till he's officially in office, have the DNC figured out how they lost?
most likely not 😭
im ashamed of my own party for letting that gumwad win
I've been trying to point out their flaws last month during the election discussion
Even Bernie Sanders called it out
right
Unfortunately politics is more than just a moral high ground game, you need more than just having celebrities support you, you have to be convincing that you can help the working class
Despite Trump's lies, people still took them in because the other side was not connecting well with the working class
Economy is the biggest thing that people care about cause they want to afford to live
kamala was a good candidate, certainly qualified, but she wasnt the best with her policies imo
My biggest issue with Kamala is that she tends to not have enough consistency with her policies
yeah and we'll see where that goes with these stupid tariffs
I never found her "incompetent" but I found her lowkey annoying at times and genuinely concerned why there wasn't a vote held
She's the most unpopular democrat
yeah i can see why people didnt like her as much
I believe the tariffs are still under Biden, who knows if they'll make them worse once Trump is back
Biden didnt seem to give a hoot about getting rid of tarrifs
thats true but trump literally said he would raise tariffs for our major importers so
Not surprised, I get why Trump is doing it but his idea only works on paper
In reality it'll raise electronic prices
imo it doesnt even work on paper 😭 its just going to raise prices for everyday groceries and ofc electronics
Electronics are probably the biggest target because a lot of the computer/phone components to make the computers/phones, a lot of them come from China and Taiwan
right
Tarrifs on Taiwan would be horrible if the tarrifs on China wasn't bad enough
His idea is to make more American made only products but a lot of our stuff comes from other countries which includes clothing, electronics, etc.
It would take decades before we ever take #1 in every manufacturing area
At what cost? More expensive things now
yeah and guess what!! almost everything we own is sourced from foreign countries 😭 his logic is so brainrot it gives me a headache
Fr, Trump's gotta look at the bigger picture
He did say he had concepts of a plan so I guess we'll find out what his official plan is once he's in office
"concepts of a plan" just cracks me up fr
I believe what he meant was he may experiment with what works and what doesn't but I could be wrong
or he has no clue whatsoever and he just said that so hes not NECESSARILY lying
Trump isn't exactly what I'd call a "good" speaker so he always has his VP do the heavy lifting
He did it for Pence and now Vance
That could be true as well
He actually picked Vance because he's good with words
That's why Vance was doing so many Sunday shows
I mean he doesn't always come off as the most charismatic but he is good with words all things considered
His official plan is project 2025
That's literally why he picked vance to begin with
no its not!!
he doesn't agree with some of the project 2025 plans, i hate the guy massively but project 2025 is not his presidential plan
He disagrees with it so much that Russell Vought (who wrote the Presidential powers chapter of Project 2025) will be director of Management and Budget, Stephen Miller (an advisory party to Project 2025) will be deputy chief of policy, John Ratcliffe (who wrote the National Intelligence chapter of Project 2025) is poised to be head of the CIA, Brendan Carr (who wrote the chapter on the FCC) is poised to head the FCC, Pete Hoekstra (named contributor) will be ambassador to Canada, Tom Homan (named writer and developer) will be "border czar" which isn't a real thing but neither is DOGE yet here we are
he's nominated like over 10 literal authors of it to his administration already, also if you read his actual plan "agenda 47" it's almost the exact same thing, don't just believe him blindly when he says he's got nothing to do with it, he does. 144 authors of project 2025 worked for his first administration/campaign in some way. his name appears 312 times in it. when he was campaigning he said he hasn't read it and doesn't know what it is, now in an interview he said it has many good ideas. jd vance literally wrote it's foreword💀
i said some
again i said SOME, selective reading seems common in here
he disagrees with SOME of it
The minimization of it I feel is disingenuous
its wrong to say that it is his official presidential plan because it is not
that's incorrect information
I mean sure we can get into semantics
its not a case of semantics, its a case of i replied to someone who said it was his official plan to let them know it wasn't
Okay then
👍🏻
has he came out and said it's his official presidential plan? correct me if im wrong
i agree with the fact that he is appointing writers of the project as directors and whatnot so it seems like what it seems like, but if he has not came out and said that is his official plan then it can't be called that.
Okay so
In case you're being genuine
No, he has not. But and this is some advice for you
If you say "Project 2025 is not Trump's plan", you are technically right, yes.
But it will look to everyone else as a conservative dogwhistle.
that's everyone else's issue, not mine. if people actually knew me they'd know im anti trump and anti conservative. just because someone is correcting you on something doesn't mean that they're standing for conservative values.
Hence, the advice.
this is why politic discussion through social media turns sour, you say one correction and people say you look conservative.
where's the advice? /gen
If you say "Project 2025 is not Trump's plan", you are technically right, yes.
But it will look to everyone else as a conservative dogwhistle.
That's why you got the replies you got.
Because it's a line said by conservatives to minimize Project 2025's influence on the current presidential agenda
i don't see advice, i see you saying i look like im blowing a conservative dog whistle.
Because I'm telling you, you are
okay bianca
And I know you don't intend to
I'm just saying it
That line
Is a dogwhistle
Is it your intention to blow it? No. You've made that clear.
Hence, I'm telling you, you probably shouldn't in future discourse because that is what it is.
"i hate the guy massively" as well by the way
Yeah so like, tread carefully
so it's not my issue if you took that as a dog whistle when i did state i don't stand for him
People come on here and say "I hate the guy" or "I voted for Kamala"
And then are very blatantly conservative in their views. They go mask off with something about immigration or wealth inequality or straight up get caught in some level of ignorance like not knowing what a tariff is.
So apologies if I've mis-clocked
It's just...I've seen it before.
Not saying that's you, but I was prepared.
maybe you shouldnt jump to assumptions then?
That's on me but I am telling you that that line is what it is.
Like, I've seen something like "I voted for Kamala but I agree that her flagrant disregard of border security is a huge issue"
There's 2 things there
okay but i've told you that's not what i was doing
Yeah I know and I get that
I'm just saying that, for your own sake whether here or elsewhere, that if you say something to that effect, it will send out a signal stronger than "I hate the guy" to some people
Here, you're cool
But yeah, it is what it is.
Agenda 47 only came to fruition after months of denial that Trump even so much as looked at Project 2025. When Agenda 47 came out, it was quickly compared to P25 and is very similar. You could argue it's "Project 2025 after you cut out the bad stuff." Which, when viewing on it analogously to the "It's like copying my friend's homework but I made it better," is okay, I guess. But on a deeper level, you have to ask why you chose that friend to copy homework off in the first place. And even after so, why did you then choose that friend to run the government with you. The rhetoric of Trump's plan being Project 2025 is simply just "Actions speak louder than words." Sure, he said his plan is Agenda 47 but then why bring people on from P25? Some of them are understandable, some of them are repeat hires from the first term. But there's also a considerable amount of contributors on there that're being tapped for high-level positions. If the plan was so good that you're getting people who worked on it on board, why the months-long denial? If the plan was so bad that you had to cut out the bad stuff, why bring on people that worked on it? In both cases, it doesn't paint a good picture.
he's just straight up lying abt that?😭 why would u believe him he's built his entire political career off of lying
im not disagreeing with you both!! im saying its not right to come out and say its his official plan when its not
it's not his OFFICIAL plan but it's still his plan? i don't think anyone is saying he's publicly endorsed it but that doesn't negate the fact that he and the many authors of it he's nominated will enact it
im gonna drop this because i dont want it to turn sour
im fed up of explaining myself
Not even surprised, Trump has always been terrible with words. He needs a translator cause what he normally says is easily taken out of context
stop making excuses for him? calling prime minister trudeau of canada "governor trudeau of the great state of canada" in a truth social post a few days ago and threatening to invade canada multiple times if they don't comply w the tariffs isn't just him being bad with words. and him saying he wants "generals like h17ler had" isn't out of context, he's just that bad of a human being. his words aren't being taken out of context, he really just says terrible things.
https://x.com/wsj/status/1867421480146874369?s=46 “i voted for trump cause he’s anti war!”
President-elect Donald Trump is planning for how to stop Iran as it gets closer to being able to build a nuclear weapon, including the possibility of airstrikes https://t.co/XlXATvNLtV
.... he's a liar... look what he does not what he says
^ stop replying to me
Time will tell, I just don't think appointing multiple literal authors of project 2025 to his administration is helping your case here
Why believe any politician on what they say theyre all liars thats why i just look at what they do instead
Okay I highly doubt Trump is actually going to annex Canada
That would start major shit
If that did happen, that would have not been on my presidential bingo card
it doesn't matter if he's actually going to do that, the soon to be leader of the most powerful military on earth doesn't have the right to make jokes about annexing one of their closest allies.
I've gotten used to how Trump's personality is. I dont like it but it'll probably be like 2016-2019 all over again with Trump
Except this time he's got an enemy's list and he wants to target people in the media
Straight up fascist shit right there
Yeah definitely, he seems to really hate stations that spread "misinformation" about him
Its hard to counter misinformation when Democrats also have some bad history. Obviously an insurrection attempt is by far the worst, but the general public lacks the information to make that distinction
That goes for a lot of politicians... if not the majority of them.
I think part of the problem in America is people are so quick to vehemently attack people they perceive as not sharing their own views, instead of being able to have healthy and respectful conversations. We cannot grow if we are constantly being nasty and confrontational with one another. I agree there needs to be a line in the sand, especially with radicals. This thread is a very good illustration of what I am talking about. People are quick to jump at other people's throats instead of holding space for a non-emotional discussion.
Exactly 💯
y’all pelosi just broke her hip omg
My great grandfather broke his hip last year
Its healed well for him yay! And we celebrated his 100th birthday this past august
Shout out to all those whose grandparents or great grandparents who suffered from polio
I hope she's okay
I know she isn't my favorite politician but I still hope she's okay
He’s not even president yet and he’s already said that multiple of his major campaign promises aren’t guaranteed
Not surprising, most politicians promise more than they can realistically deliver
Trump milked the whole "my economy was better than Biden's" to death
Doubtful Trump will make it worse but I'm also doubtful he'll make it better
Trump inherited a very good economy and then did basically nothing to significantly change it
So yeah, it was good under him, but most Americans don't realize it takes a few years for an economy to catch up to president's policies
exactly it was good under him bc that was obamas economy. it got worse when biden started bc that was the aftermath of trumps presidency😭
if he does literally anything he's promised to (tbh u can't rlly count on him doing that based on his record) it will get worse. the us's trade with canada is worth more than their trade with the uk, france, china, and germany combined, and he's promising a 25% tariff on everything canadian/mexican and is threatening to invade them if they don't comply💀 it won't even lower prices it'll do the opposite. if he follows through with mass immigration it will also make the economy much worse
I have concepts of gifts for everyone this holiday season 👀
Dear Canada, random tariffs against you, or being our 51st state. Pick.
I had concepts of gifts too until I decided something for my gf
I hope he doesn't make tariffs worse but if he does, hopefully things will still be affordable
I wonder how many items are made in china, in the average American household
And why is thousands ?
The price to manufacture there, ship, and sell here, is still cheaper than American made equivalents too often.
check out how much of Taylor swifts merch is made in America 💀
I mean the whole world went under with covid, but America actually recovered better than any other developed country. Bidenomomics actually worked
Even if he doesnt raise tariffs shit is still unaffordable for most ppl 😭
Like 0
I worked her warehouse last nov-feb so all of her merch passed by me. I can’t remember a single thing.
could have been a few odd items but I really don’t remember a single item being “made in USA”
I can understand the want from american politicians to increase goods production in america but making EVERYTHING so fucking expensive isnt gonna make that happen
Are Taylor swift merch items detrimental to the avg American? Nah. But does me bringing that up put it into perspective for this server? Maybe
I like hearing your perspective! /gen
It’s for press. We’re not set up for the manufacturing numbers our foreign imports are
So true
Ty! Thanks for contributing to this convo!!
Well, a lot of clothing is not made in the USA
So in terms of clothes, yeah sales for those might climb
Everything will climb.
Unfortunately, this is true
Also, I would like your opinions on this
At first, I wanted to put no but I also was thinking about the future too, AI could be a great tool for our military as long as intense testing is done
I'm almost in the middle with this one, I think for right now, No. In the future, I say Yes
As someone whose undergrad capstone project involves AI and machine learning, absolutely not.
I understand the hate towards AI because it has killed originality but I believe it can be a very useful tool once it becomes more advanced and it's ready to do bigger things
It should be viewed as a tool and not as something to rely on all the time
Tell that to the companies pushing for it
Right now, it should definitely not be operating our military weapons. I'd say give that a couple more years of testing before that goes live
I wish I could but Coca Cola won't listen to me, they wanna be lazy and push their stupid AI commercials
can't stand Coca Cola for that, it's so unoriginal those commercials are
It's the heavy reliance on AI for extreme tasks such as animation, voice acting, art, etc. that I can't stand cause AI shouldn't replace those things yet it has started to. Treyarch replaced one of their voice actors with an AI voice already in Black Ops 6 and it's pissing me off 😭
That's what frustrates me the most about AI is how corporate America steps in and says "hey lets use AI to replace everything"
yh i was referring to the first few years when inflation went up but now it's at like 2.4% and watch trump inherit bidens good economy then take credit for it, which is exactly what he did the first time
Every Republican president be like
Its not only killed originality its killed JOBS people who lets say use to translate certain things now, not only get paid less because of AI but practically do 2x more work because AI is so shit they have to go back to the original to translate anyway because the translation AI gave was so horrible
FUCK AI
Ai SHOULD have been hey lets make this tool so that hard labor jobs like cleaning etc are easier so more people have time to participate in the fruits life has to offer INSTEAD OF HEY LETS MAKE AI, REPLACE EVERY PERSON CUZ ITS CHEAPER
Yeah that's definitely the worst part about corporate America, they want to replace people cause it'll save them money
FUCK corporations FUCK capitalism
I work in IT and we like AI, I believe my coworkers hate the way it's also being used in corporations
If corporations weren't super corrupt, we'd be able to see AI actually being a good thing
I use AI for information gathering (I check to make sure it's accurate as well)
Google Gemini has been helpful when doing Google searches
have you ever read “I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream” I think you should look into this concept
I love this book!!!
I've never heard of that book, I should see what it is
Lol I just heard someone call it the Trump administration 2.0
It is part 2 of Trump administration
I just realized that eventually, Gen Z will be old enough to where we'll be in control of most things like CEO positions and whatnot
In the next 20 years, if we don't succumb to corruption, we can be the ones that lead change
I just hope that when we get to that point, we don't have the same ole corruption
i wish people would stop wanting to bomb russia. there are so many innocent people. nobody there likes what is happening.
nobody seems to understand that, and americans have shown it.
including our government.
Nobody likes what's happening but the reality is most of them don't understand what's happening. Their government is lying to them about everything and making them believe the war is justified.
Having the war brought into Russia actually is one of the few things that works with showing them that their government is not telling the truth
Obviously nobody wants innocent people to die, but I understand the longterm benefit attacking Russia. Putin will not give up under any circumstance, but he might be put under more pressure if he sees his own country is in jeopardy
When Ukraine invaded Russia a couple months ago and brought the war to them, the nearby towns evacuated but many citizens there started to question how their government can claim they're easily winning the war when something like that happens
Russian state media is basically telling everyone that they have it under control, theres no issues, and everyone in Russia is 100% safe
BREAKING: Trump says his team is looking into the privatization of the Postal Service.
Bro what
WHAT WHY
I mean...you know why.
Means more expensive mail server
Yea but still
many know what is happening. i pride myself in being able to research well, i think peace is nice. having no war happening would bring us closer. putin will die soon anyways
Do you live in Russia currently?
no.
i know one who is.
he is currently residing in america, but he and his family live in russia.
he provides me with uodates. he helps me understand the problems that russia is suffering.
the fact he is capable of understanding, and states that others know, make me think they do.
hope this isnt confusing
I get it. Obviously innocent people there don't deserve anymore pain than they're getting
well thank god my country stopped the ellections after a pro-russian bastard won
🧍♀️
He clearly doesn't know history lol
I need to have the "white" people to realize we are descendents of Italian and Russian Garmin British Irish Scottish people
not you wanting to kill millions of innocent people
Lets avoid talking about the Ukrainian-Russian War in this channel
kk, sorry
мы не хотим, чтобы ты был здесь

i can but i was adressing him in russian, i thought he was russian or ukranian due to the fact he wanted to discuss that war
damn, is what he is saying
Understandable, but we are an English-Language-Only server
apologies

Why? It’s a politics box lol
“2024 US General Elections”
i do not want to get in an argument, we do not discuss that here
can you please contribute something to this conversation
We’ll discuss archiving this thread soon

Sorry I don't speak Italian
(SpongeBob reference)
Was about to say
This is clearly a political thread lol
I may have voted Trump in 2020 but I'm not dumb 😭
In 2024 I went Kamala though
In 2020, I just couldn't stand Joe Biden
Perhaps so, but it isn’t intended to be so, other than the thread’s objective on the US Elections.
I still can't stand Kamala but Trump went crazy and starting being a big baby
Unfortunately I'm 0-2 in presidential election voting
The lesser problem amongst other errors of him
But yea he is a big baby
Anyone who just uses it for its original purpose wouldn’t even still be here
Pretty much, well, at least in terms of the policies I can agree with her on. In policies, I liked her 2 to 3% more but I would modify those policies that would be more bi-partisan
I’m 2-2 starting with 2012 Obama
Much older than I thought
Did you guys have major political toxicity back in 2012?
33
I feel like it started becoming mainstream to be toxic about politics in 2016
Her policies def needed a different change but at least (key word VERY AT THE LEAST) she wasnt threatening mass deportation or ya know is a convicted felon
Trump started it
True, Kamala was definitely the lesser of two evils in this case
Would've chosen any other democrat over Kamala but we had no choice
Had a feeling, he shook up the entire political landscape and now people are mean to each other over politics
Take me back to 2012 when presidential debates were normal…
Obama and Romney were having normal, respectful conversations about their opinions https://t.co/qk3JPAiaZ2
I remember Romney and Obama having class and didn't see a single person being toxic over it
@dapper sail
I miss when those were normal too
Now it's only the VP debates that are normal which is cool, just really boring and nobody watches them
Romney accidentally saying “binders full of women” as a huge scandal that ended his run.
It wouldn’t even make the news if Trump said it
Romney was definitely a weak candidate from the start
Trump is unfiltered and many have lowkey accepted that now
It's given republicans success but at what cost? Well, professionalism and likeability
Honestly I don't like either party but the ones that find an issue with things that are "woke" are the most annoying
yeah because unfortunately the average american is desensitized to his bullshit
Everyone else is fine, I just hate the term woke especially if there's not a proper explanation behind it and it's just "I don't like it" or "it has gay person in it"
This goes with movies, TV shows, video games, etc.
same, esp bc it was first coined as african american slang iirc, and now its used as a derogatory term in white straight male media
Yeah it's frustrating cause it doesn't open the door to reasonable discussions
woke is strange, because that culture has been here for a long time
It's like talking to a brick wall
it did not begin, it stayed
Conservative buzzwords are cringe
Liberal buzzwords make me cringe too, at this point we gotta stop throwing buzzwords and bring back discussions
I don't feel like calling someone a cis white man cause they disagree with me 😭
they do not make sense. kamala is not communist, she does not show support for that
cause I am also a cis white man
I don't think any politician in DC is a communist
It's weird why they say that
cisgender white men are known to not be very funny and they have been shown to be the most misogynistic group of people
saying this as a cisgender white man
Granted I have seen white men being misogynistic, disagreeing with someone doesn't mean pulling out buzzwords
It's annoying af seeing that too especially when I discuss things unrelated to gender or race
i think it is justified sometimes! sometimes the people say it because it shows they are propagating the misogynistic thoughts many of us feel
I think if they have intent to be an asshole, sure
Can't argue that
In this diverse world, there's a lot of different opinions. Some mean no harm but support unknowingly harmful opinions while some support opinions knowing they are harmful
i think there is not one true right thing but there are good and bad things
True, there are good and bad things. If someone is being misogynistic and clearly has the intent to with their opinions, go right ahead with the buzzword
If someone is saying something they don't realize is misogynistic (this could be the case with catholics especially in the case of Harrison Butker), throwing out buzzwords is not my go to thing
You're better off properly discussing it with them instead of making them feel like a bad person
Yes

I used grok on Twitter
You can see on the bottom right corner
you can’t send AI-generated images here.
I didn't vote because imo both candidates sucked. 😂
2024: Independent babyyy
This existed before him, tbf and tbh.
They were. All different varieties of racists came out. That is where a lot of the racial tension started exponentially increasing. The media ate it up and broadcast it.
Agreed.
Disagree on "most misogynistic", but i don't think that topic is for this thread.
Hoo boy.
well gaetz reports are gonna be exposed !!
Same here, i did vote but I'm an independent
I hope this next four years brings us fully into class consciousness as a nation. I’m tired of bickering with people who want the same things as me but won’t admit that almost ALL of the people who are supposed to protect us are siding with money instead of the common good.
Gotta be strategic with your voting, because if you vote for nothing in a two party system you just end up with nothing
A few million less people voted this election than last election
I know my gf and her mom didn't vote and her mom admitted it was the first time she didn't want to vote
I assume Trump is joking when he says that but I'm not sure
Doubtful it'll happen but that means we are the maple syrup capital of the world if that somehow happened
I would rather not vote for the lesser of two evils, which seem to be the most recent elections. This year I did vote independent, though. I wasn't gonna throw my lot in with Trump nor Kamala.
Why throw power into the hands of a greater evil if you think there is a lesser?
Everytime the greater evil wins, both sides just get more evil...
Because i view both sides as two sides of the same coin. A lot of people pressure us to pick one (like the current discussion), but we will always be choosing between the lesser of two so long as we willfully choose to do just that. Why continue to feed the beast? It would take a unified effort, but at least I am standing on business.
Because you're effectively not doing anything while claiming to be doing something. There is absolutely nothing good that comes out of throwing your vote away. If you can tell me what it is, I'm all ears.
The time to pick good people is in the primaries. The time to prevent the worst people from taking power is in the general.
I voted independent. You saying that i am throwing my vote away is your opinion. The only time I have ever been told that is by my Democrat friends because they wanted me to vote Democrat.
in a two party system, a vote for an independant party is a wasted vote
its not an opinion, its the truth.
I just saw an article titled that the defense budget was voted for to be around 800 billion what the fuck
thats pretty normal
2023 they spent 900 billion lol
It is an opinion. There wouldn't be the option to be independent when you register if it were solely a two party system. I understand that Dems and Repubs rule the system, but that can and needs to come to an end.
okay, but in the 2024 election, it had no chance of coming to an end. so it was a wasted vote in this election.
thats just how it is
In your opinion. And your responses are wasted because I do not agree so we can agree to disagree.
i mean my responses arent wasted as we are having a conversation lol
did your vote influence anything? did anyone get elected for anything? did it make any changes? /gen
I know but like i wish it wasnt that high there are so many better things to spend on 😭
US Politics
Real changing makes sense
What bodies does the Matt Gaetz report have to go through before it gets released?
Right but I mentioned it for Taylor merch relation again- to make the conversation a little more relevant for the server it’s in. I worked at her distribution center in the USA. Her merch isn’t made here.
Whats that? /gen
Damn today was a bad day for the stock market
Historically the stock market has always ended in an upturn, we'll be okay
It doesn't stay permanent forever
I mean, this really just looks like a correction
They happen all the time, no need to panic (yet)
True
It's been a while since I've actively put anything in the stock market, I gotta do that again
which bill is he referencing
One to prevent the government shutdown on friday iirc
yeah, the fed cut rates to try to help inflation this week.
also istg government shutdowns are so harmful
Federal workers need to all be unionized.
Their livelihoods should not be a bargaining chip in political fights.
I miss when Vermin Supreme was the craziest presidential candidate we saw
and even he was an activist/performer
This would actually be so lit
I mean, postal workers already are and it helps a lot.
They're also a really good consulting client because the rules are really really clear for personnel.
I really like the postal service
The federal service, and the music group tbh
Also, why would we be cutting non-military spending?
The pentagon misplaced billions of dollars and haven't passed most of their audits in the last decade. If they can misplace it then they must not need it.
Looooong sigh about issue I won’t get into that we keep funding aid and simultaneously weapons to
believe me I KNOW
and then we read “aid suspended due to attacks on aid caravan”. If you don’t know who’s doin what….
Canada it’s been a little, spotty, they just get forced back to work 💀
Imagine we like house our veterans for a year instead of fund another country. Imagine.
It's not even just that though. Just this year the Pentagon lost almost a trillion dollars and it isn't even the first time.
lost as in can't account for
Oh that “issue” is the minimum of our spending problems, but a topical one. As for the trillions , I can’t even yield surprise?
It's not surprising no. But it's so so infuriating
imagine we provided people with context before they sign up for ptsd speedruns in exchange for free college
And Trump wants to privatized the postal service
that's not going to end well
it's a public utility
people depend on the postal service to live in remote areas
You mean the Nazi?
Yeah.
He has a door ring video of the guy showing up with a gun and crossbow. The police chased the guy and killed him
He shot two dogs first, breaking into someone’s home while trying to escape
No sympathy for the nazi but Crazy stuff
I’m watching the bodycam from the pepper spray incident and just how is this a real human
He has to move and pay lots of money for security now 💀
“You can give me your card but I’m not giving you an interview “ he says to the cops HE called for help 🤪
Freedom of speech is a pleaded excuse at the absence of freedom of thought.
He told the cop he couldn’t be a white supremacist because he’s Mexican 💀
Something his detractors use against him, and he admitted it
if I regarded myself as a “high profile vlogger” or something, and lived with my mom, id be like a little more considerate?
“I caaaahnt be a white supremacist - my last nayme is fwentez “ in the wildest Boston accent or whatever he is
A lot of Nazis don’t like him, so they’ll use that against him
Really just feels like he forgot that freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom of consequence
yap
BASED QUOTE
I mean he's white passing
I don't think that anybody should be surprised that people are responding to political and corporate violence with literal violence.
when you enshrine violence toward a group in law or policy, they're going to fight back and it's really difficult to do that with just words and protest nowadays without getting put in jail (see delay deny depose lady in florida https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/czenlg5d5rjo)
are they making him look cool on purpose?😭
I think they are doing that to make sure he didn't get away
Omg supports gathered outside the court where they were putting him on trial
there are normally like 3 guys
not the entire nypd💀
why does this guy have more security than like. school shooters
don’t get me wrong murder is murder but like it’s weird
Cuz they are tryna make an example of him but are failing miserably
They care more about the interest of major ceos than the common kid/person
Gov and major leaders of this country are pissed that this event is essentially uniting the working class a bit
We should rise up already we are bigger then the us army
There trying to paint it like he is a badd guy but we love and stan him so it's doing the exact opposite
He should burn
Like what did he expect
People are idiots i swear
Nick Fuentes has to be rage bait with some of the stuff he posts on his Twitter
"Your body, my choice" ain't no way bro isn't rage baiting with some of the things he says
Maybe if we ignore him, he'll go away right?
People can’t do that, unfortunately.
