xCloud recommends a minimum of 50Mbps, as far as I know. There's also going to be lag, which shouldn't be anything close to a surprise to anyone who understands this is being streamed, not downloaded to your xCloud device.

I don't think Microsoft has any countries they intend to avoid for xcloud service, possibly except those under US embargoes (which Russia is not). It just comes down to timelines and logistics. There has to be a datacenter in the region, they have to get the xbox hardware installed there in sufficient quantities to run a service, and then there's probably legal/compliance stuff to do on a per-country basis.
But Russia is a big enough market that I can't see it being ignored.

Yes. You might be able to connect without it, but can't really do much - it connects to your dashboard which you need a controller to interact with

its only just released there will be issues in Preview thats the whole point of it, so you give feedback and Xbox can make the service better, there were 4 new regions from 18th so each persons experience will be different.

you arent going to fully get rid of delay/lag its going to be there for everyone. but with feedback it maybe possible to get it lower, its not supposed to takeover from console gaming its something you can play for like an hour if you commuting, on a work break etc.
this is Cloud Streaming, it uses Upload and Mobile data.. nothing to do with Console streaming which is totally different.

I would say because the android app has been around a lot longer than the IOS one. Apple and Microsoft had a hard time coming to an agreement about how Xcloud would work in the App Store. So I guess its a newer app and platform so had less R&D time. That's just my guess. I am sure one of the Xbox crew will have a more accurate answer! LOL

Hi all, I'm in Australia and received my email accepting me into the xcloud preview. I have the xbox game streaming preview app installed but when I go to game streaming I just get the screen with "game streaming is taking a break". Have I got the wrong app? I have tried login out and back in and fresh install of the app but nothing has worked so far.

When I try to stream a game, the left stick and Dpad of my XB1 controller don't respond, but other face buttons do. This is only after the game launches. Left stick and Dpad both work normally to navigate the Game Pass app on Android. Phone is a Pixel 3 XL, with latest Android updates. Controller is updated to the latest firmware through the Xbox Accessories app on PC. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Game Pass app

Hey guys. New Xbox pass subscriber. At the best of times last night I was playing Gears 4 on my GPD XD + almost like I had a console. It was incredible. But I’m finding lots of lag other times. Part of it is my own network issues that I’m looking to resolve. Going to double my internet speed from 500mbs to 1gbs so hopefully that solves most of this. I also have Google nest wifi. Wondering if anyone else does and has any tips to optimize it for Xbox pass?

Assuming that's Wi-Fi (at that download speed it probably would be), if you're not on a 5 GHz band, you should be; 2.4 GHz is more subject to interference which can cause the stream to stutter
you absolutely already have enough throughput, it just needs to be steady... high loss or unstable ping (the two likely go together) can make it unplayable regardless of how fast your internet service is
5 GHz isn't always perfect either, but it helped a lot for me. I guess the other issue is how far away you are from the router and how much is in between... if the signal strength is bad it might cause problems too

I use the Google nest mesh. Upstairs in my house I was getting kicked out entirely with comments related to not being able to connect to the server so I ordered a second mesh node for upstairs that’s set to arrive this week. The Google Nest router supposedly is 5G though it’s hard to know if it’s dedicating the 5G for my device or not. Yesterday I tried to play Halo though and was only 6 feet from the actual google nest router itself and was still seeing the wifi signal drop sign in the top left of the screen come and go.
So, I chalked it up to my internet speed needing to increase or some other wifi setting I might need to do to improve the connection to my GPD.

I have an android tablet with android 6.0 and internet speeds of around 60 mbit/s, however, the xcloud streaming never seems to work well, I get the image very clearly and in high fps, but the sound is terrible, I only hear like 0.1 seconds of sound every 5 seconds, and I also have input lag of about 10 seconds, is there anyway to troubleshoot this?
Also can I download the app on an android tv and use it on there?

yeah given (if I recall correctly) it's currently downsampled to 720p, I highly doubt increasing the framerate is going to happen in the near future

purely speculation since that is, after all, all we have, but: I imagine there'll be a mobile-only flavor of Game Pass once there's a clear business case for it. Currently it seems to be marketed as a supplement to Xbox or PC, which makes sense since that's what it's best at. Once more games are optimized for a mobile experience - which I would expect means they don't require a controller, and have a user interface that can be consistently and easily read on a mobile form factor - then maybe it would make more sense to sell it on its own.
Market demand is also another major thing they'd be looking at... how much interest are they getting from customers who don't already own a console anyway? Once they expand into more markets where console ownership is rare, that number might go up a bit. But nothing is ever certain in this space. :)

PC does not have legit remote play to new consoles, nor xcloud. It can remote play to last gen consoles. There is a non-legit method for nextgen (and possibly xcloud?), but can't be talked about here.

@dreamy escarp Welcome. I had high hopes for Stadia as well, but it wasn't quite there. xcloud may be expensive for you tho, since its also including a bunch of other value (non xcloud gamepass) you can't utilize
@opal musk yeah. Are you doing remote play in the same network? Or across the internet? Is your xbox wired or wireless to your router? Are you using 5g? What are your device and xbox signal strength? What do you get from a speed test from each device?

on the xbox I believe there is a speed test option from inside the network tab. If not, you can go to speedtest.net in edge or something
