Yes, if we do another round of iOS invitations for testing and you're accepted you'd get an email with a link to install the streaming app. Right now there's only one game due to Apple restrictions on the iOS xCloud beta though

The quality of the stream was far better than Stadia or any other service I've tried so far, and best thing is, its free

#

The only issues were the latency but that's most likely due to the fact that I have a 2.4 GHz wifi

No, but it would fall under the 'otherwise suspicious content'.

The rule is not absolute, it's an example of things not permitted, so would extend to what you're doing.

well iOS was full ages ago, so waiting on a code might prove difficult.. testflight only allows 10K to test a beta, Apple/Microsoft havent even said there might be a 2nd wave of extensions so you are going to be waiting awhile.

its in beta testing but it allows you to connect to their Datacenters to stream a game without downloading or updates from Android or iOS, its also coming to PC soon and will be part of Game Pass.

iOS is behind than Android.. Apple is strict and only allows one game for testing so Xbox chose MCC, Android has over 50 games right now to try out

yeah, it depends on your neighborhood a fair bit, but 2.4 GHz tends to have issues with interference so it stutters a lot more in my experience

I mean, you could more or less still do the same thing, just without the split-screen component. It'd really only be a deal-breaker for games whose only multiplayer was split-screen

@lean jetty yeah, the money saving element is the key here, if this splitscreen would work with console streaming, then it wouldn't cost anything, as opposed to getting the other person to pay for xcloud, pay for another copy of the game (and digital, which usually costs a lot more than a used disc), pay for a Gold account, and I would have to pay for a Gold account too, that's too high cost to pull off 1 or 2 gaming afternoons per month

We recently tried out androids and Samsung galaxy watches for our kids but they were pretty unreliable so we returned them and bought them both iwatches and iPhones and everything works without fail. Which is important if there is an emergency at school with everything going on

It encourages people to subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate, which means more money for them. People who don't have an Xbox console may be tempted to buy one if they enjoy the games and want to play them properly at home.

It also offers more options to people who already have an Xbox and creates brand loyalty.

Typically the sale of a console actually loses microsoft money as they sell the console for less than it costs to make. Xcloud also functions in a way similar to an advertisement for Xbox as it is an inferior way to play the games.

xCloud is in no way comparable to playing on an actual console. It's good for short term use, but it's not something you would want to do for full time gaming.

I also think (and this might be proven wrong) but once Xcloud and other streaming services enter markets that don't have as developed of a gaming culture (such as India or Africa) it's possible streaming will be seen as preferable, as t hey may not immediately be able to afford a full system.

I don't know if Xbox partnership with Samsung. It's up to Microsoft and right now they are not focus on partnership with Samsung. They are trying to buy Tiktok.
