it gets to 245m bro the servers are wires in potatoes

and its glitched, it says i have to wait like 40 mins but say halfway through i sign in on an alt account and it says 100 mins wait time, i would then have to wait an extra 80 minutes and it would just keep increasing, its always on the ‘sorry, the queue is taking longer than expected’ part

i started a session or whatever at 16:15 (uk) and it said i have to wait 100 min/1hr 40 min, which should’ve ended at 17:55, but its been 40 mins after (140 minutes, now 18:35 my time) and it says 175 mins on my alt so im gonna have to wait another 35. please fix this bug its crippling man

Exactly, so by using cloud gaming you are using another console - the one inside Microsoft's servers. So you have to wait your turn.

Unfortunately, it's just not that easy. It's in beta and there's, relatively speaking, a fairly limited number of servers for it. It will get better over time, but this is just the way it is for now.

Xbox knows exactly how many people use the service, exactly how many servers they have, exactly what the min, max, average, and 90th percentile wait times are, they know a thousand stats more then that which they use to make decisions.
They also know the lead time on Xbox production, on network switch and rack acquisition, on datacenter power and cooling buildout capacity, and a dozen more things that impact the speed of growth

Queue times that change wildly and have low accuracy is something that those stats will help them figure out.
A bunch of people complaining every day about the time fluctuating isn’t going to speed it up.

And I really hope you were doing something other than staring at your iPad loading screen for 4 hours straight

How the process works and why the limitations are the way they are has already been explained in the entire chain of messages that you were reading from. People complaining about things that are just part of the growing process and encouraging those lines of thinking by saying "they're speaking the facts" just isn't helpful.

It's unfortunate that Cloud Gaming doesn't have the capacity yet to handle so many people trying to play, but that's just how it is and there's really nothing anyone can do about it outside of waiting for Microsoft to increase capacity, which doesn't happen overnight.

Xcloud is currently in beta testing.
Xcloud is currently overwhelmed by people playing Fortnite for free.
Adding additional free games would be insane. Queue times would be even worse than the multiple-hours they sometimes are.
Microsoft does not need additional data / stress testing / etc from people right now, so adding more free games would not be beneficial for anyone.

Not really what I was getting at, there's a level of expected service quality as people buy gamepass and use it for cloud gaming which is advertised as feature of the service.

Tbf the terms state availability is variable but it's not like it states "beta" on the purchase page, users have to get to the terms page then read (shock, horror) that the availability isn't guaranteed. While it's clear what you're getting yourself into, I think it could be clearer from the outset about "acceptable service standards". Instead it's the usual hand wavy Microsoft language of "we could make it available 1 day in 30 or 29 days in 30 and either are covered by our lack of service guarantees"

But also... Users fault for not reading the Ts and C's I suppose.

Having an open world isn't a requirement of an RPG, and the same is true for action-adventure games. As for the rest, they're not mutually exclusive either. The main difference is how the game is presented. The Last of Us (another action-adventure game) is fundamentally different to Dark Souls (an action-RPG). Having multiple endings also isn't a requirement.

Also, my intent was to just say the genres were different, if you want to continue the conversation we can move it to #general-chat since this is no longer related to #xbox-cloud-gaming. You might even find more answers there as well.

I do wonder how this is going to be handled though. There's only a limited number of games that support keyboard and mouse natively. Converting and remapping the inputs is effectively doing the same thing as xim type devices so may give players an advantage if they're using KB&M input in console games.

it is hightly likely that your internet connection isn't solid if you're having a bad cloud gaming experience

you can use a tool likst speedtest.net to check your internet speed and latencies to the nearest speedtest server and that's a decent enough starting point for answers

it doesn't mean you'll have exactly the same results to the nearest microsoft/Xcloud datacenter, but it is a good starting point for troubleshooting

Changing the displayed age on your Microsoft account doesn’t change the real age behind the scenes. If you are a kid it will still be a kid account.

If you aren’t a kid and you just used the wrong birthday at some point then you’ll have to contact official microsoft support for assistance, and you’ll need to be able to provide government ID / real documentation proving your correct birthdate

Game Pass Ultimate is a requirement to even use Xbox Cloud Gaming in the first place, with Fortnite being the only exception.

Also, I'm not sure if you knew this or not, but XCG runs off of what is essentially Series X consoles, but obviously designed differently for server purposes. If it can't run every game at 120 FPS, then it won't on XCG. Not only that, but the connection speeds required would be a significant increase over the maximum cap it has now, and XCG already uses a ton of data.
