The queue length changes throguhout the day across the world, as different amounts of people try playing different games in different regional datacenters.

1. you have fast internet (much faster than what's needed to play via xcloud)
2. you have a device that can play the game locally in teh first place (for example, Flight Simulator requires a SEries X but can be played via cloud on an Xbox One)

If you have a Windows PC then you will only be able to pick up your old progress if the specific game supports cross platform game saves. Not all 3rd party games do but I think all 1st party games have to

Cloud Gaming and "Remote Play" are 2 different things. Remote Play actually uses your personal Xbox. Cloud Gaming uses Microsoft's datacenters

Today we tried cloud gaming for a laugh, somehow it was worse than expected. It reminded me of the buffering 240p youtube video from 2008 but with the decoder glitching of digital television and a continuous tearing of the screen that makes no vsync look normal.

I am guessing you need a really really good internet connection for it to be worthwhile, and then I guess you would get the latency on top of input lag?

I relate to you when I tried cloud gaming using the Gamepass app. It was so worse it was blurry, glitches on screen etc. however, when we used the service on web It was great like 20 times better
In Asia with 50 mbps internet speed I get really really good performance on any browser.

You need something around 10 meg to do a stable 720p stream. Technically the math works out to less, but the reality of the internet means more.

At 15-20 you should have no problems with the max 1080p stream that xcloud can push.

And yes the internet distance from you to the Microsoft datacenter, your latency, is very important since you’re playing a game and not just watching a movie

Cloud doesn't support mouse and keyboard, period. They(microsoft) need to implement that feature themselves and enable it system wide.
After that, games that support mouse and keyboard (there are a couple dozen) would automatically work with mouse & keyboard in the cloud.

Xbox are working on keyboard and mouse support, but we don't know when that will happen. They would need to convert the input from the keyboard/mouse to the relevant inputs on the controller without loss of function or accuracy or without introducing more latency. It's not a simple thing.

I'm impressed how well this game runs via Cloud. My GPU was really struggling during early access. Was thinking of putting my Series X or S on the desk but I want to keep them hooked up to my TVs. It's gonna be the first game I'll primarely play via Cloud on my desk. Tried it on both my PC and One S and it's amazing! No noticable delay and it looks pretty.

The only way to play it on XB1 is through the Cloud. It's a Series X/S game only.

Most mobile data connections are not strong enough for cloud gaming. You pretty much need local WiFi and even then it can be a little flaky if your a wifi isn’t strong enough. As far as I know android still has the app for cloud.
