For the sole reason that “leaked” tests said the same thing about the 10900k

We strapped our biggest cooler to it and ran it at stock and we just couldn’t keep it cool!

And then it came out and everyone ran it at 5.2 all core at 80°

It’s literally copy and paste in format of the 10900k articles

mentions 360mm aio in a way that makes it look like it’s the god of cooling
Uses the phrase “struggle to keep it under 100°”
Mentions stock speeds
Then says “oh we don’t know X Y and Z though! Could be the motherboard!”

Sara, as long as you use a motherboard that has a PCIe slot (the slot that you mount the GPU), yes it will. All PCIe revisions have backwards-forwards compat (altough that may affect card's perfornance).

I think I finally figured out how HDR works on my monitor! At least on The Division 2 anyway. I can completely bypass having to enable HDR through Windows settings and it appears to work. Shame not every game uses this method as there was a noticeable difference. Screen was brighter than it was in SDR (no surprise going from 14 brightness to 100), colours were different, guess that has to do with HDR using a different colour space to SDR and I even paired it up with the neutral lighting setting that is in game and HDR removes the crushed blacks I used to see in SDR This would have looked great on something like a 4K OLED in HDR

I have the arctic freezer 34 esports duo. Cost me around £40 and keeps my 5600X pretty cool. Mostly sits around 60C when gaming. CPU is all stock. No need to really overclock a Ryzen CPU

yeah, that would be deemed unplayable in my books. I take exception to games dipping below 60 fps on the rare occasion and consider that borderline playable but strongly prefer games maintain 60 FPS. Any greater is all the sweeter

nice! tbh I'm considering a 3080 again just for the DLSS feature but it is a little annoying it isn't more widely supported. Ray tracing doesn't interest me the slightest at this time but will look at it as things improve with it over the years on Intel, AMD and Nvidia

honestly the stock cooler on the 3600 sucks same for the 3600x i switched to a aio always couldnt keep cool and had to run really high fan speeds

main issue is that the heatsink is really small like its intel counterpart but 3700x stock cooler does way better due to it being a bigger heatsink

also, on the point of DLSS or ray tracing. DLSS is a feature I'd use to gain even more performance on supported titles. Where possible I would set it to DLSS Quality. Would be enough to sway my mind towards a 3080 but equally I'll take a 6800 XT if the chance presents itself. First in stock gets my money. Not being picky about this

Plake, I'd just leave it stock but be sure to monitor it in game with either the RTSS OSD or AMD's own OSD. Depending on exactly what gigabyte card you got it should be able to maintain a reasonable temperature. Exception being blower style cooler

also, does your card have the option of two bios? Might be you are running on the OC/performance bios. Default, my Red Devil 5700 XT was set to run on that bios and would clock even higher with fan speeds being higher too but I switched to the silent bios

whenever I try and play some kind of game with my controller on my PC, it always tilts the right stick to the right somehow. whenever I try and play on my xbox or my brothers computer it doesn't lean the stick to the right and they can play normally. Is it true that i7 5960x performs like a Series X in terms of CPU power?

While the Series X has a newer CPU (AMD Ryzen 3000/Zen 2) not all of its 8 cores are dedicated to gaming from what I understand and they also run at a lower frequency than the 5960X cores likely do. On the other hand, the 5960X is an older CPU so it may lack support for features found in some of today's games so performance on this CPU may be poor. Not to mention it is a HEDT CPU

hi im going to buy an xbox one controller to play games on pc but i dont understand the need for a wireless adapater, is it not like the ps4 controller that requires no adapter at all?

You only need the adapter if your PC does not support bluetooth if it does you do not need it

oh damn! just figured out how to work that curve optimizer PBO2 feature properly. I set pbo limits to disabled (always had it on auto) and enabled curve optimizer. From there I set a negative 10 on all cores and applied it. Just tried it in a game and the CPU remains at 4.65GHz but as expected is consuming less power than it would have been at stock. Was regularly seeing CPU power reported in the region of 45-60W. I'm curious to see if I can drop it even further. This time with negative 20

I'd check out some of the games you play on your Series X but on PC. If your PC is pretty high spec you may find the same games you play on console will perform better on PC, with exceptions being any poorly optimized title

God of War, Uncharted (all of them) the last of us, ghost of tsushima... list could go on and on. Just bring all your exclusives to PC, Sony! I'm sure that will keep everyone happy :D

just tried playing Red Dead Redemption 2 on my 5700 XT. Wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
1440p maxed settings I got anything between 26-48 FPS. Lower end of that was any time I was near a body of water, FPS would tank thanks to one of the settings.
Actually pretty impressed with this 5700 XT for being able to handle this game at 1440p. Last time I played it would have been with my 1080 Ti and a 1080p monitor and I was getting similar performance then
