I wish I didn't look at 4K monitors. LG have one that is near perfect. Supports up to 160Hz via an overclock (over Displayport only). Only issue I have with it. Isn't 32"+ only 27" won't that require some scaling to get 4K just right?

should be able to but how well the system will run the game is anyone's guess. Might be "playable" (30-60 FPS) at 1080p medium-high don't expect to make any use of Cyberpunk 2077's ray tracing with those specs though

Well as far as I'm aware we've not seen how well the game actually runs yet. That will have to wait until the game launches to say for sure but depending on what settings and resolution you are after you may need something quite a bit more powerful

there might be more than just a GPU you have to upgrade. Power supplies in prebuilt systems are often cheaped out on (unless a more expensive system) be sure to check that before buying any GPU. Power supply and motherboard are two components I'd never cheap out on and for that reason I'd alway recommend people build their systems rather than buy prebuilt, exception being custom built from a store where you have a wide range of choice

Your mic is a usb condenser mic
So you need to set a hefty noise gate
And you can’t do that via Xbox app
If you have an audio interface, you could control the gate via that
For example
My SM7B has a noise gate set via my goxlr, which gates and filters and equalizes and all that stuff before it gets to the computer source
If you just have that boy plugged straight into the pc, I don’t know if there’s anything you can do.

I have both a PS5 and Xbox Series X hooked up to a 77inch LG CX in my bedroom. I also have a PC with a MSI 2080 super, i9-9900ks and 32gb of RAM at 3600mhz. My display for the PC is an Acer X34 predator (100hz 3440x1440). I love the new big tv but I’m seeing that the console versions won’t run 4k 60fps like assassins creed Valhalla for example.

@prime crane it'll require a fairly beefy PC to hit 4k@60 as well, a 2080 Super isn't going to hold a solid 4k@60 if you're maxing things out, even with RT disabled.

The game does have a 60fps mode on Series X (and presumably PS5), but the resolution takes a hit. But, as Dark mentioned, you're unlikely to manage that with a 2080 any way without downgrading things visually.

as for between the consoles, it's really preferential, but I'd probably say Series X since they're working on optimizing it with MS
as well as a few other features that the series x has over the PS5 currently, such as 4:4:2 chroma subsampling and VRR, as well as Dolby vision

so it's really just preference. I wouldn't worry too much. You won't lose out on anything either way

there might also be some settings in the Nvidia control panel you will want to change. I hear the LG CX can do up to 12 bit color. If it doesn't show might be that you need some displayport 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter, if such a thing exists. That should allow DSC to work and should make 4K 120Hz at 12 bpc possible though you might want to double check
wait, the CX is HDMI 2.1 right? as long as you have a HDMI 2.1 cable and a GPU that supports HDMI 2.1 you should be able to set this up without any adapter and the slighly better bandwidth HDMI 2.1 has over Displayport 1.4/1.4a should allow for all I mentioned. Limitations may be if AMD or Nvidia allow support for 12 bit color on consumer cards

I have yet to watch that video but waiting on their graphics optimization guide tbh. Playing at maxed settings and 1440p and struggling to maintain even 30 FPS with a 6700K and 5700 XT. Can't wait to lower these settings while keeping high quality visuals and getting closer to that 60 FPS sweet spot I target in these types of games. Even when I eventually get a 5600X and 6800 XT I'll probably still apply the same settings

reading into the whole HUB Nvidia ban there was more to it. I guess if HUB remain banned from future Nvidia FE launches they just have to buy it themselves and can make their own review, with none of the contractual strings attached. People want a non bias review? they might well get it with these guys in the not too distant future. Not to say there was any bias to begin with but they would no longer be under any agreement with Nvidia so the gloves come off I guess as they say in some way. This may work out in HUB's favour, as it would with any of the other big reviewers I think but such a ban to a smaller reviewer would hurt I imagine

if they don't plan to overclock the non K version is the better choice imo. 10700K should be more expensive and may require a more expensive motherboard to get the best out of it. Even stock it might push more and if I'm not mistaken some motherboard manufacturers have been accused of applying OC conditions on these CPUs out of the box so the CPU may end up running faster and hotter to those unaware that their CPU may be overclocked
honestly I'm not sure I can assist past this point. My knowledge on Intel past 6th gen is little. Better off listening to those with experience of these CPUs. They will tell you exactly how they run and what is needed

I've been playing some more Cyberpunk 2077 but this time I applied some settings from Digital Foundry's optimization guide. I can't help but think though some of the settings might be broken and if so, when fixed, we are about to see even more performance losses. Based off what was shown on Digital Foundry's video I've never seen volumetric fog cost so little - it's usually one of the worst settings for impact to performance is it not or is that just an Ubisoft thing?

yeah, I only heard about that after the order finally processed. Think the options I had were fairly limited at the price I got it for in NVMe anyway so as long as it still performs well I'm not going to be complaining too much. Eventually as PCIE 4.0 NVMe SSDs come down in price and go up in relevance I'll probably relegate it to the chipset NVMe slot and go for a much faster and larger gen 4 NVMe

as it stands I have 10 bit enabled through AMD's Radeon Software and I can't honestly tell any difference. Unless this only applies to HDR and other programs that are not games then this whole 10 bit thing is very limited in usage it would seem, at least on a gaming front

HDR may actually be broken on my monitor. Updated it a while back to the latest firmware and I don't remember ever having quite as much control in the monitor's OSD when HDR is enabled as I have now. Pretty sure it was limited to brightness (0-100) with everything else on my monitor's OSD greyed out

half of the settings don't seem to work as expected or CDPR got them optimized to such a level that even big hitters you often see in other games aren't as bad. If it is true and fixes are coming for each of these settings that may not work then people even with a 3080 and running DLSS in performance mode at 1080p may soon be in for a rough time. Could well be playable by 2077 😅
for example, on Digital Foundry's game optimization video I found only two settings in their non-RT optimized settings worth dropping. Psycho screen space reflections down to ultra regains a lot of performance and that psycho setting is about as demanding as having RT on, without the improvementa RT brings visually. Other setting was ambient occlusion I think where they dropped the setting from ultra to high for a 9% gain to performance. After that every other setting was reported to have a 4% or less hit to performance

Coffee, that's not completely correct. Play Anywhere is a Microsoft store only terminology, for publishers who decide to make their game available on both xbox and windows store, they can choose to link the 2 versions and make them play anywhere.

I think I've got some really good temps with my 5600X on air. Have yet to see it exceed 53°C while gaming. For comparison, my 6700K that was AIO cooled hovered around similar/slightly lower temps and the crazy thing is I'm 2 cores and 4 threads and 600MHz better off. Really like what I see from this Ryzen CPU so far!

also, what's the airflow of your case look like? That seems high for an idle, but if your case can't breathe, it could be warmer inside and saturate the AIO

its not idle but close I'm just in the desktop screen and discord and nzxt cam or discord and spotify running in the background and the the case is h710i and 3 intakes on the front and 3 exhausts (2 on the top with the radiator and 1 on the back), my gpu temps are like 20-25 degrees

you can check task manager to make sure CPU utilization is staying below 10% or so
but it sounds like maybe a better thermal paste application may be in order
my CPU only idles at 50C or so (on an air cooler) if my case is still really warm from having played games for several hours, until the ambient temp in the case / my office cool off

ok, that was interesting. Just tried playing The Division 2 at 1080p (1440p native) with HDR enabled and it works. Image quality doesn't look as bad as I've read up on but it sure makes me miss 1080p gaming. 5700 XT is more than capable of that and my new CPU will be put to the test some more at 1080p too. Nice to see high FPS again rather than barely maintaining 60 FPS at a higher resolution. Something I hope to not have to worry about for too much longer. Just waiting on a 3080 or 6800 XT

I guess that puts any chance of another "GTX" set of cards to rest then but so many GPUs. Can't see why Nvidia just couldn't stick to launching a 3050, 3060, 3070, 3080 and 3090. No Ti, Super or Titan cards. Product stack looks fine that way
