yeah, I also see this better for businesses and data centres.
hi Lisa,welcome to the server!
and new pc gamers
true
If my computers offers sata i will USE sata
ok
Try out WFC and FOC on PC!
Do you guys think I should buy Horizon zero dawn or Ghost of tsushima? Gonna play both on max graphics and ray tracing (if available). I want a good story, beautiful world design etc.
I'd choose horizon zero dawn but just be aware there's the remaster too.
alot of people do love Tsushima
They are both beautiful and well designed games. I personally like Tsushima
guys
yeah its worth it!!
Stupid question -- how can a GPU driver degrade CPU performance? I'm getting low 1st 80FPS on the latest 26.1.1 but on an older driver 23.11.1 I'm getting 170FPS low 1st. On the latest driver the CPU score is 80ish FPS but on the older one it's 180. I can't figure it out 😭 How on earth can a GPU driver make my CPU performance worse?! Makes no sense. 😅
The CPU is the bottleneck on the latest driver 26.1.1 with 80ish FPS. But on the older GPU driver it's not. Min on latest is 80ish but on the earlier one it's 170+.
Does anyone know if I can get AC brotherhood achievements on xbox if I play it on pc gamepass?
No
Definitely makes no sense lol. Have you looked online to see of any similar reports with the same driver and game? I’m sure something like this would be noticed and widely reported by other users by now
Been searching basic terms, but not noticed anything. Will post on Reddit to see what others say 😅 weird as heck though.
Only games from 2020 and newer have cross progression. So once u finish on pc u need to load up the game like a Valhalla on Xbox for the achievement to unlock. But for older games u need to play on Xbox to unlock the achievements
I have my 6750XT/5600X on 26.1.1 and the perf is really good. But on this 11600KF/7800XT it's bad 😭 😅
Ok, now that makes it even stranger when the better GPU is somehow performing worse. Only thing I can think of asking is whether or not you changed any settings via config files that could have otherwise changed things for the odd performing system
Same config, same settings. I changed the exact same things + all run on low.

Let me guess it's cod ....again
I didn't try the GPU scheduling but can't see that making a massive difference
so ac brotherhood can't do that? i gotta play it on xbox... rip ;-;
how do i see what games can and cant do that
It's doubled from the older driver to the newer driver lol
I don’t think that would change much, only improve frame gen support if anything
Obviously I'm annoying @dusky wave so I'll just be quiet now 😅 will post on Reddit to see what others say. 👍
Its any Ubisoft game from 2020 I think fc6 and ac Valhalla were the first ones. Also isn't brotherhood MP has been shutdown
MP yeah but im playing story
Brotherhood is pretty good
Someone I know was selling a DualSense controller that's got upgraded TMR anti-drift sticks. So I bought it off him 😄 🎉
£35.50 - can't wait to try it out!
english only in server, for moderation reasons
Okay, sorry.
think I'm finally stopping using Frame Gen again 😄 Instead I'll now opt to run games at 4K maxed settings with DLSS (4.5) set to ultra performance mode and I'll be very surprised to see if there is games that can't maintain a good 60+ FPS at those sorts of settings on a 5080
Why did you choose to stop, if I can ask? What are you gaining/losing by making this switch?
Frame Gen stuff is still a new thing for me that im learning about
Interesting choice. I’d rather use a higher dlss quality supplemented with frame gen
just a preference thing really plus DLSS 4.5 seems to be really good, even on ultra performance - a mode that was previously recommended to be used only when gaming at 8K. May revisit frame generation again once Nvidia adds support for both 6x multi frame gen and dynamic multi frame generation but for now at least I'm not using it
feels about the same but with frame gen it will lower the FPS to smooth things out between a factor of 2-4x and ideally you want to try and keep the FPS at least 60 for it at all times, which becomes harder the higher that multiplier gets
@smoky flame Stop Gap till the 4K version is out
Will collect it over the weekend
Wanted the 540Hz one but I cannot do the Silver Bezels!
for example. 88 average FPS won't suddenly double with frame gen enabled and set to 2x that average FPS will likely show around 160 FPS instead of the expected 176 FPS if it did double seeing as there is some compute overhead
ooh, nice. You'll be getting a sneak preview of the Tandem OLED
Yesss I’m interested to see how impactful the colours and brightness will be on this!
I'm still going to see what releases this year and check reviews before potentially buying another monitor. Haven't had this one I have for 2 years yet (that would be coming up in July) and even though it lacks support for displayport 2.1 or Tandem OLED it could likely still last me a while longer yet. I don't even have 4000 hours in "total power on" time yet 😄
Yeah fair enough,
I’ve always wanted Glossy and the Tandem is a bonus!!!
We looked into reports that new DRM on Resident Evil 4 PC is impacting CPU performance and can confirm there are problems. The game doesn't run as well as it used to - and that's not acceptable. https://www.digitalfoundry.net/news/2026/02/tested-resident-evil-4-remakes-new-pc-drm-impacts-cpu-performance
let me test it. also a great game to play on friday the 13th

it wont be something subzero will play tomorrow lol
i get around 80fps with max settings. around 60-70 with RT
honestly I think most people won't care, consoles are usually 30-60 but when you have a high end GPU you're gonna want all that extra performance lol
that's a 4070 so I wonder how much worse it is for the 30 series
i have a 6800xt so 3080 equivalent and this is natively no upscaling
fr. its not like its COD that u need to squeeze every frame u can get
that's pretty good then I think, I have the 3060TI so I would guess it's about 40-60
there about. u probably can get more on medium/high settings
I could check as I own the game but it's currently on my HDD, my SSDs are full😂+ the transfer for HDD sucks
yeah. i was planning on playing village and 4 on friday for friday the 13th
I actually remember running it on HDD and the experience is terrible, I got to a deadend at a door because it would not load in
my rule of thumb is to install anything that mandatory requires ssd on the ssd especially those that have RT
hypee
now you just need a spooky movie too
netflix scream movies
100%
I do the same
hell yeah
i could get away from installing games like the tales series remasters on hdd
I've never played those
they are JRPG. very long though for full completions.
that reminds me i need to see if there any mods i want to use in re4
yeah, honestly not my favourite genre of games, I do love trying something new every now and then so I don't completely avoid them either
its my favorite im working on ff7 rebirth its gonna be a long completion....
wishing you the best on your quest to completion
i brought both remake and rebirth long before the xbox ports was announced
i just couldnt wait lol...
yeah just a tad bit worse in re4
it seems pretty silly on their end to have changed it after three years, hopefully it gets sorted out again
I have always wanted a gaming laptop that is also touch screen Board of @steel sinew
????
Does anyone want a video game recommendation?
which? just curious
God of War / God of War Ragnarok
@smoky flame it’s home 😄🙏✨
How does it look compared to your previous monitor? Noticeable improvement?
Colours pop so much more
Blacks are somehow more intense and a lot deeper.
I was watching some 4K HDR videos and the brightness, colour and “pop” effect is unreal
Definitely a step up in class and quality imo
And it’s almost half the price of my LG (albeit lower Hz)
I’d say if you have an OLED but really care for Vivid colours, or have a QD panel and don’t like the purple haze/tint then maybe worth it if you’re selling / buying a 4th Gen Tandem OLED
If it’s your first upgrade to OLED then imo no other option at this price, size and resolution
Sounds really good
I had a look earlier to see what monitors are releasing that support Tandem OLED and Displayport 2.1 with max bandwidth and 4K resolution with 240Hz or greater. LG has one that is incoming, the 32GX870B
That’s the one I’m waiting for ASUS to release
Because LG is going with a Matte finish whereas ASUS uses the TrueBlack Glossy
And I prefer Glossy over Matte
I thought this one was a glossy finish from LG too? Kind of surprised they don’t release such a monitor before anyone else seeing as they are also the makers of said panels
Sure, go ahead
im wondering what flakk's recommendation is
i hope flakk cooks with his recommendation
War For Cybertron , Fall Of Cybertron , MP goes hard, discord called ReEnergized will direct you from there. Whole games to me are like a new dimension of Quake.
It’s up
That’s correct, I did.
u do know those been delisted on pc for like almost a decade right? we cant buy them at all
plus i play them on the 360 wasnt all that interested in them at all but thanks for recommendation. I thought u gonna recommend a modern game.
1). LG Display is not LG Electronics.
LG Display make the panels and LG Electronics make the Monitors.
2). There’s two options available, Matte or Glossy, and LG Electronics traditionally has gone with the cheaper and perhaps more “popular” Matte option since it’s a PC Monitor.
ASUS will go for its more Premium Glossy finish.
ooh, ok. Sorry about not being aware of that with the LG thing. I might wait and see what ASUS release then as I want to check out this glossy finish
ASUS monitors don't require the use of Armory Crate do they?
No, although you can download “DisplayWidget” which lets you control monitor settings from your desktop however I chose to do it the old school way and did all my settings off the monitor itself 😄
same, though tbh on my monitor the software LG uses kind of has limited options so I'm left to use the settings from the monitor side but its no biggie really - though I do wish LG made it so this monitor could be controlled via a remote as one of the other ones they released about the same time does have that, which would have meant no touching the monitor lol
Interesting
Remote control would be cool but then it’s another app for something you probably do once and leave it unless you’re constantly changing I guess 😄
don't think there was any app involved in using the remote for this monitor. Let me see if I can find what model it was
ok, its older than the one I have. LG 27GR95QE-B and it seems having it in the same room as an LG OLED TV may be a bad idea as the remote uses the same frequency lol
@devout remnant I wish I didn't now but I watched some reviews of the ASUS PG27AQWP-W and I really like it! That but in 4K and greater than 240Hz and my wallet is in serious trouble 😄
That’s what’s coming but it will be 240Hz at least this year.
I’m sure 360/480Hz panels in 4K won’t too far behind that include the latest gen of OLED
Can anyone help me get games for windows live working on my pc please?
Wasn't that shut down years ago
Unless u have a working key u can't run them on ur pc
Theres a way to run it and get achievements
Wonder if these are safe to install 😂
surely windows would never have issues with updates /s
I can help you out of it if you don’t mind
bot
I’m trying to go into Roblox but when I try joining a game it says I don’t have access to and I have an Xbox account on my Microsoft pc and it tell me to verify my age and when I have it my passport and Face ID for the verification it just says error something went wrong and can’t verify age so I can’t play Roblox at all and I need help
Something didn't go as planned 😔😕
Stupid updates
Idk how updates that are really, really..... broken get pushed to stable 😐
There's damn testers for stuff like this 😐
personally I avoid installing updates as soon as they come out...
Cool but that shouldn't be the case when there's testing channels for updates!
whats a good game on premium
I agree
My monitor exploded how do i fix it?
exploded? How?!
I highly doubt that lol
im not joking man
if your monitor really did explode then that sucks as I don't think there is a whole lot you could do about that in terms of trying to fix it. If the monitor is still under warranty you could try reaching out to the retailer or manufacturer otherwise you'll more than likely have to buy a new monitor
Agreed
Lol maybe you shouldnt have droped C4 onyour monitor. Keep the c4 for battlefield next time expolded
ok ill go buy another because there wasnt a warranty
monitors usually have a decent length warranty so must be pretty old
I am so excited. I am finally going to get a decent gaming monitor for my Mac that is 165hz and HDR 10 Enabled.
nice
wspppp
HELLO
hello
I think we are doomed https://www.thegamer.com/western-digital-sells-every-hard-drive-2026-memory-prices-ram/
Yep. At least for the next few years
Assassin's creed
ComputerBase conducted a massive online blind test, allowing thousands of gamers to vote on their preferred game video output. The options included NVIDIA's latest Deep Learning Super Sampling 4.5, AMD's FSR Upscaling AI with FSR 4 on Radeon RX 9000 series GPUs, and native resolution rendering witho...
kind of hard to argue native vs DLSS 4.5, epsecially if tied to the recommended DLSS modes after enabling it on the Nvidia app (Performance for Preset M and Ultra Performance for Preset L). Can override things further by targeting specific presets too but even at Performance (50% resolution, Preset M) you are going to get a much better experience than native. Higher FPS, less ghosting and artifacts. Easiest way to tell DLSS 4.5 from the rest is look out for ghosting movement. Things like sword swings or cars moving could leave a ghosting trail behind it but DLSS 4.5 reduces that almost to the point it is gone
hearing lots of stuff like this, i need to get another pc before it gets worse
Yeah u could see if u can upgrade what u have rn.
Might be hard. I have a legion go and a m1 Mac 🙂
Ouch. Yeah m1 probably need a windows PC to game effectively
Legion go does great on the smaller screen. But need something more powerful for larger screens that looks great. Holding on to my Xbox consoles until next gen conversion . So not in a big hurry. But want to before prices get even higher
Recommend getting ram gpu SSD asap over other parts
it wont load, what it do?
After a session it shows some highlights and achievement unlocks
Looking at various of vendors. Anyone have any favorites? For pc builds? Looking at microcenter and a few others
Found a couple others like sky tech and microcenter. Curious to what others have done. Looking at prebuilt or custom built. Dot have the time to build right now
Ive never looked at pre-builts closely but microcenter would be a good choice
i wouldn't do amazon tho
i've looked a little at amazon, i'd assume their return policy would be good, microcenter seems to have the best prices although part brand varies depends on whats available
personally u would get whatever prebuilt fits ur budget even if its a ddr4 pc if u going a just a gaming pc
who plays mc dungeons

Ok
Yeah, I’m the type of gamer that likes to crank up all their settings in a story game, so whenever I play a game like black myth wukong for example, and I turn on DLSS frame gen.. I can EASILY tell it’s not actual frames. There’s really bad ghosting effects at the top and the sides of my screen which sucks honestly. I have started to just play through it at 30FPS as it doesn’t bother me much. It either runs at 30 or 50 on my pc at 1440p..
But then again 30FPS native is awful considering I’m playing off a 5080
Same with the 5080! I strongly suggest you give DLSS 4.5 upscaling a chance. Override it in the Nvidia app and select either Performance (50% res scaling) or ultra performance (33% res scaling) or you can choose a specific preset between L or M and from there select Quality or Balanced as that will still net you a very nice gain in performance
Yeah. I tried it with 4.5. I tried model L and M
It looks fine on other games though
Just black myth had that ghosting on the borders of my screen
I haven’t noticed any of that tbh
Ah, I mean I could try to record a video of it honestly as I can’t really explain it well in words
DLSS 4.5 should pretty much eliminate ghosting though. Which could leave two things. Frame Generation may still introduce some or depending on the panel type of your monitor ghosting may be seen, I think VA panels can introduce some ghosting at lower refresh rates (<240Hz)
Yeah, I have a QD-OLED 360hz
Yeah, it is
It only happens on black myth though which is the odd thing
Everything else works perfectly fine
depends on game implementation too mind
fsr is usually alright if dlss isnt available but in cyberpunk for example it just sucks
you also tend to see the opposite in amd sponsored games
like tiny tinas for example doesnt even have dlss
Im thinking on just playing it natively on cyberpunk
a lot of my frustration that led to me getting a 5080 instead of a 9070 XT came from how poorly implemented FSR was in some games while DLSS seems to be implemented well overall and has much better support, not to mention overrides for DLSS 4 and 4.5 while FSR 4 and Redstone requires an RX 9000 series or newer and in game FSR version 3.1.4 or better
im getting high 90s utilizations for both gpu/cpu between 93-99 %. at around 40-60fps at 4k not bad. on a 5600/6800xt with 32 gigs ddr4 ram
Thoughts on what to change from this that wouldn’t increase price much but increase performance? Graphics Card: AMD Radeon 9060XT 16GB
Processor: Intel Core i5-12400F
Memory: 32GB DDR5 6000 MT/s
Gotta look into replacing my 6750XT. It's artifacting in 1 map on Black Ops 7. Gonna test my 7800XT to see if it's the actual map instead of the GPU. I hope it's not. Great card this is.
Armstrong is making me bloody break
https://videocardz.com/newz/geforce-rtx-5090-user-caps-power-at-500w-still-sees-burned-12v-2x6-adapter Another burnt connector. Will this ever end?
Probably never lol
shouldnt be allowed to include adapters on a card that can use 600w
can happen even with native cables too so isn't strictly adapters only
one of my friends who builds PCs suggested 5090 owners limit the power draw to 450W or less to reduce the risk of the 12v-2x6 connector melting. There is a slight loss in performance from doing this but worth it imo if it can save a precious 5090 or two from what is sure to be a lengthy RMA process these days
Cable plugged in correctly reduces chance of issues massively
that helps too, yeah lol though it really shouldn't be that difficult to ensure the connector is properly inserted as there has been a lot of reports 5090 connectors melting since it launched a bit over a year ago and I highly doubt most of them are caused by something I would deem so simple
Doubt all you want
It’s the main reason and well documented.
I'm still blaming the connector and not so much the user. 4090 had issues with 12vhpwr and that was a 450W GPU and 12v-2x6 on a 575W 5090 doesn't seem to be doing much better. Even heard of some much more horrific stuff like GPUs catching fire (elsewhere, not to do with the connector) but such instances seem to be very rare compared with the reports of melted connectors anyway
If the connector was solely at fault there would be the majority having issues.
That’s clearly not happening.
What is happening is reports linking user error and issues.
it can't surely be user error though for all. RTX 50 series connector seemingly lacks load balancing which no matter what way you look at it, even if the connector is inserted properly there is a chance that should any one of the 16 pins on that connector be supplied with too much power there is no failsafe to prevent it from burning/melting so I definitely don't think user error is entirely the blame either
Didn’t say for all or entirely. However as I said before, it’s well documented that a lot of/most/usually linked with user error.
Main points:
- cable not properly installed
- physical stress like bends or tight angles
while I do get what you are saying it just doesn't sit well with me, sorry. I would believe many people buying a 5090 are enthusiasts and know how to handle the GPU and all that comes with it. Odds of them inserting the connector poorly or incorrectly should be pretty low imo
what? was it something I said? Probably isn't worth going on about it. What is known about the 5090 and the connector is known
people are people and should is ... yeah
i've had plenty of conversations with people who plugged things in poorly and i'm not even tech support
Very interesting topic to talk about
The connector is bad and should never have happened. MSI is currently shipping me back a new 5090.
Pushed it in the whole way until it clicked, and zero yellow was showing
It’s simply a product that should not exist
Do with that what you both will
The end looks severely bent
Like you’re holding it and it’s at a complete angle which is a big issue.
Two main causes usually are:
- Not inserted correctly
- Physical stress on the cable
I was literally just talking to a friend about this and how questionable the connector is.. I'm so nervous with my 5090....
Camera angle
Good news is they’ll usually send you a new card. Once you pay like $100 in shipping and insurance to get the truck of a card there
This is the angle
which 5090? I went with the Astral because I heard it'd be best for minimizing the risk
I don't know if there is any real science behind that though because like... the connector is the connector...
MSI gaming trio OC. Middle ground sku
Figured I’d be safe if I didn’t buy the barebones suprim lol
5090 really is a monster of a GPU 😮
I'm not convinced any are safe at this point lol
I look at my 5090 daily through the glass like "not today, right buddy?"
The electrician in me alone genuinely despises the connector. It should not be legal to sell anything with this much power going through this little wire
even though I kind of went on about it last night I'm sure they are safe enough but having to be cautious like that really can be awkward like I want to game on a £2000+ GPU without having to look over my shoulder if it caught fire or having to occasionally check the connector for burn marks or signs of melting during or after an extended gaming session where it may be drawing over 450W
Schematically the connector is safe and tested safe. But it’s a time bomb once it’s connected
A 1mm shift from moving your PC, heat cycling causing tension loss, all sorts of dumb things.
I've heard of cases where melted and burnt connectors happen on other GPUs too. 9070 XT and 5080 though to a much lesser extent
It can happen yeah. Less common for sure
I've had a Zotac Solid Core 5080 for about 6 months now and so far been really happy with it, to the point I'm no longer scared of the connector but I do keep myself aware of it and it doesn't really help when certain sites post almost weekly about new incidents lol
It’s the best Air Cooled 5090,
After that you’re going into the AIO ones.
I like the Astral design, looks really premium
Oh you mean the 24K Gold Premium one?
gotta use the angle adapters for those unfortunately
any type of bend or pressure's been causing them to melt
do you mean the Dhahab edition? That looks very nice too but meh. I only meant the normal Astral lol
that cable is bent as hell there is no funky angle here
Is that cable really "bent like hell"?
I didn't use that cable adapter, I bought Corsair cables dedicated for my PSU to the card, and they don't bundle them in the the shield like that.
I'm struggling to imagine how anyone is avoiding a bend like that
even the adapter on my 5080 is bent I'm afraid to even take pictures of it because of how ugly it makes the front of my case look now but maybe I will do it just this one time...
I'll have to pull the side off my PC and take a picture as well
Redone it as it looked a little blurry lol but the included adapter for the 5080 being 3x 8 pin to 12v-2x6 already looks pretty bad imo
I feel like.. you slap the side of the case back on, and that makes more of a bend, no? Or do you think is free hanging?
I don't think there is much room for the cable to really move once the case door is closed so pretty much sits like it is or maybe moves a little further back
The dust
btw, I've seen some builds where people will bend the cable towards the RAM though idk if that is using the native cable or the adapter (maybe both) but that I would have thought is an aggressive bend just so it can be somewhat hiddenby popping it out from the same sort of place you'd maybe have the motherboard 24 pin cable come out from
I know, I gotta sort that some day but I just wanna game!
oh, something else. Looking at the image I posted above, would you say that GPU is 2.5 or 3 slot? On Zotac's website they claim it is 2.5 slot but idk lol
The thing is an actual TANK
This is the cable I purchased https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLY1B362
The official CORSAIR Premium Individually Sleeved 600W PCIe 5.0 / Gen 5 12VHPWR PSU Cable delivers power from your CORSAIR Type-4 PSU to the most advanced PCIe 5.0 graphics cards, without an adapter. Each flexible triple mesh paracord cable is individually sleeved and held together by an adjustab...
had a chance to play around with DLSS 4.5?
Dare I say.. I don't know, so I'm going to guess no 😅
needs to be enabled via the DLSS Override option in the Nvidia app. Worth it imo seeing as the 5090 has so much performance to offer and DLSS 4.5 improves even further on what DLSS 4 done. Some time in Spring there will also be support for 6x multi frame generation and dynamic multi frame generation too (again via the Nvidia app)
yeah. generally
I thought the higher end corsair psu came with that cable
The PSU I purchased was before the 50 series
(or before this pin layout was decided, anyway)
I'm guessing you have fans underneath the GPU but what's the purpose of the top fan on the GPU? Never have I saw that before!
Yeah 3 fans below! The fan on top was the first I've seen too!
I think on top of those 4 fans ASUS also used PTM rather than thermal paste on the GPU die. Shame not every GPU has it as standard as PTM seems to be a much better choice with the only thing better than it being liquid metal, which can be tricky to say the least but would offer the best cooling performance of the three
yeeee. that's fair.
those adapters are just super rough and dangerous.
so having just the standard 2v6 cable straight from psu solves so many issues
oh yeah that's what I purchased. I didn't want to use the adapter that came with the card
It was a new design they did for the 50 seriea
I like the design imo
does anyone have experienced audio output dissapearing from the win11 audio menu, my nvidia control panel still detects my TV speakers but windows refuses to look for it
I doubt they will at this point but honestly just ditch this 12vhpwr/12v-2x6 connector and find an alternatve that is reliable as 8 pin was. Hell, I'm sure there is an alternative version of 8 pin that allows up to 300W through it instead of 150W. EPS 8 pin or something like that? I know it isn't used for GPUs but perhaps they should consider it if it means running a 600W GPU requires 2x 8 pin EPS rather than 4x 8 pin or the rather dodgy 12vhpwr/12v-2x6 connector
Death Stranding 2 PC specs
Yes?
That’s going to look gorgeous on PC.
Already is on ps5
indeed
Any one can help , looking for RE9 offline Activetion
can't wait to crank up all the settings on Death Stranding 2

cleaned my desk off yesterday
also cleaned my pc inside and out
my cpu cooler was gross. unfortunately I'll have to deep clean it but I need to pick up more paste
you need more glitter and snacks smh /j
completely redid all of the wiring and cableing though. need to eventually look into an RGB hub so I can get that fan rgb cable routed properly. it's just too short if I dont have it running across. but that'll be way way way down the line. it's not critical
you can see my refreshment table off to the right there with my kettle and creatine. my water filter's next to it too
the lint that came out of my cpu cooler was absolutely rank though
living with a cat and a dog
it wasn't even grey, it was just pure black lol
yuck!
how long since u cleaned ur pc?
a bit longer than typical honestly
was really busy the second half of last year so at least since may 2025
I need a thorough clean of my desk tbh. I literally have no space!
usually tip for spatially constrained. swap monitor orientation
it'll let you move your mouse more freely
in my desk pic the black pouch for my headphones, and heaphones are on the right but I usually have them off to the left of my tablet leaning against the wall
Can't move my monitor too much because the back of it is a PS5/router/modem 😭
mm. fair
I’ve tapped out the available space there myself
My switch and splitter then speaker are all snug
Need to do a second round of dusting though. A lot of the extra dust from cleaning yesterday is starting to settle
I am not taking a pic of underneath my desk
it's a nightmare and my cat makes his home on my subwoofer
also it's just my pc, subwoofer, and trash can
nobody wants to see that
Side of my bed has a PC too.
I have two pc's outside my bedroom door
One of them
Ancient workstation
Kepler architecture Quadro
I need a good clearout and try to sell some stuff 😅 but.... I like what I have 😭
problem with tech enthusiasts
we know the old stuff comes in handy
so we dislike getting rid of it
💯
so many times I've gotten rid of stuff only to need it like 3 months later
especially true for cables
I need to clean up my PC sometime but honestly all I want to do is game so its like "oh, I'll do it later" and that later becomes months 😅
same. i just cleaned my mechanical keyboard like a week ago. pc probably like 6-9 months ago
anyone that uses Nvidia GPUs and tends to update their drivers might want to hold off with the latest version (595.59) as there is a bug that stops fans from being detected and monitored on software like Zotac FireStorm, fancontrol, hwinfo etc
Unfortunately, there are only problems with these Nvidia GPU drivers for Win 11 lately:(
other than racing to update to the 595.59 driver a bit too fast only to notice the issue with the GPU fans I didn't have any issues with the previous version, 591.86 if anything it may have fixed a few things from a driver or two before that sounded pretty important fixes
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh! @smoky flame I finally fixed the issue on the latest AMD driver in Black Ops 7! Even though in the config I disabled resize bar, it was still being applied. I had to turn it off in my BIOS!
I done a run with resize bar (81fps) and without (191fps) 😄 😄
Something to do with explosions in the game that resize bar doesn't like 😅 I found a YouTube video and someone mentioned disabling it in the BIOS. 😅
26.2.2 is out also! Not sure I want to try yet lol
interesting, first time I've really heard of Resizeable Bar being a problem for games. Usually it allows for better performance or pretty much no change and afaik AMD's implementation, especially when used with an AMD CPU (Ryzen 5000 series or newer) and GPU together allowing the use of Smart Access Memory (SAM) acts like a global on toggle. Nvidia on the other hand have a whitelist of supported games where it is seemingly tested and if it has something to gain is enabled otherwise is off (even if the option is enabled from the BIOS)
I know you want to do things a certain way and stuff but I don't understand why you run with a 6750 XT when you have a 7800 XT iirc? That should be the better GPU as it is newer, has more VRAM and so on but I won't go on about it as I know your stance on these things. Just curiosity was all, I guess
There's quite a story behind it! I have a 5600X/6750XT & 5600X/7800XT. I however, got my hands on a case, mobo and PSU for really, really cheap. So I ordered a CPU from AliExpress and a GPU from CeX because I traded in some stuff and put it towards the 7800XT. (basically 3 pcs) I wanna keep the 5600X/7800XT and plan to sell the i5/7800XT/5600X/6750XT. It's just..... I'm lazy and haven't listed it anywhere; yet. I have a few NVMEs/SATA SSDs I could swap over etc. I just need to fit a WiFi/Bluetooth PCI-E and I should be ready to list 😄 I did try and get my brother to talk to his EX about me giving my nephew his first gaming PC (5600X/6750XT) but she won't allow it. 😭
So yeah. I could actually keep the RAM/SSDs (4TB Samsung QVO) and 2TB NVMe and 32GB RAM which would allow me to run 64GB for my main PC and sell the rest. It's just finding the time to list. 😭
I did want to upgrade to AM5 but then the prices went sky high lol
small update on the latest Nvidia driver (595.59)
LESGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
how much of a performance loss do you see if you were to turn FSR 3 off or set it to native (100%)
Ugh, idk.... I can try; however..... there's a shader bug that makes my whole screen go white if I don't use FSR 😅
There is an odd bug that affects the lighting, making light sources unbearably bright to the point where one cannot see anything. It happens in all game modes but at random, meaning that it will happen in one game but then be fine in the next. To me, it appears that every light source in the map is turned up to 10000% and so my screen is a mixtu...
If I use FSR1/3 it doesn't do it 😅
It's a very very old bug lol
No FSR3
Highly tweaked config. Forgot to copy it over!!!!!
should still be possible to enable FSR and run it at 100% if that still counts as a fix for that bug but between your first screenshot and last I'm not seeing a whole lot of difference in the results. I'm guessing both of those runs used the highly tweaked config while the middle run didn't?
Yeahhh 🙂
I'll try and see 😅 the bug only happens in 1 map because of all the white in it, the white is what triggers it. Haven't tested on newer drivers though. Happened a lot on older ones.
We'll see, but for now I'm quite pleased! 😄 ❤️
idk how the latest drivers are. Since switching to an Nvidia GPU back in August I've kind of lost touch with AMD drivers 😭
most times people recommend not to update them unless a new version fixes an issue you have or adds support for a new game you plan on playing but idk, personally I'd rather keep them up to date. I won't update however if a driver or any other update is maarked as preview, beta, canary or dev. I'll happily wait for what should be the most stable version whenever it is released
I posted similar from their Nvidia driver release page a little earlier. Kind of frustrating for many waiting on drivers for RE9. I don't even think High on Life 2 (PC Game Pass version) is properly supported yet either on the Nvidia app, which 595.59 might have offered
Do anyone want play Moving out2?
If you're looking for someone to play with, please go to #1094715375884697600 or #lfg
seeing the fallout from Nvidia's latest driver and its issues on their Geforce forum page ouch but there are some good points to be had and maybe some lessons (even for Nvidia) to take onboard from this. 595.59 should have never released. Seemingly there was issues with what was an earlier dev build of 595 driver branch that somehow didn't get noticed until this driver and this now has some questioning the whole WHQL process as that driver would have been better off marked as beta or kept in dev. Oh and can't forget the constant back and forth about AI. Apparently Nvidia use AI to help with their drivers?
AMD and their X3D technology strikes again!
I believe the biggest problems Intel have currently is no response to AMD 3D V Cache technology and with their latest Core Ultra 200 series CPUs they lack hyperthreading which if it released some 10+ years ago when games didn't make much, if any use of multithreading likely would have been a top performer but where needed now it may get swept aside by rival AMD CPUs though outside of gaming is where that CPU can shine. Core Ultra 200 series, just like 12th up to 14th gen also uses P cores and E cores which I often see people say are great for mobile platforms like smartphones or laptops but not so good for a desktop processor
Didn’t Intel announce next gen will have V Cache?
They’re due soon no? - haven’t really been keeping up with their products as of late
make sure you play it with PATH TRACING, its INSANE
don't think any of that has been confirmed, still in the realms of rumours and whatnot. Same with Zen 6 stuff. Would rather just wait on official word on these things than go by what rumours say as it could be very wrong
unsure whether or not I'll play RE9, it is tempting but me being a big scaredy cat of certain types of horror stuff may not go well but yeah, path tracing on a game like RE9 looks great from what I have seen on videos already, it is also very demanding on performance and I would only recommend those with a 5080, 4090 or 5090 to enable it as it will likely also require the help of DLSS and Frame Generation to achieve good FPS. Not even sure if the 5090 could handle that at native resolution. I think this may be a little controversial but the days of native resolution gaming are over when DLSS, FSR 4 and XeSS can give you close to native image quality with major gains in performance
PS5 PRO RTX is insane
The PS5 Pro does not have RTX though...
Latest gen consoles do support ray tracing. RTX though is part of Nvidia’s GPU naming. Next step beyond ray tracing and path tracing I believe is neural rendering
See near the end, the glitches on the screen. Is that a dying GPU? Or how exposure map is meant to be? Only map that does it 😭
I’m sure they did confirm it
I’ll try and find their official roadmap.
could be a dying GPU but is there any effects players can pay for that could trigger like that? Could also be a texture related issue. Doesn't really narrow it down a whole lot but hope its something 😅 when you say it only happens on that map I would even rule out the GPU dying tbh
"Yeah I get flashing lights sometimes. It looks like the paparazzi is after me lol"
Not only me! Thank the Lord!
Clearer picture
It seems the map is bugged. And is happening to others too.
They removed the map flagship because of issues, wouldn't surprise me if this gets removed 😭
sounds like that might happen if it is random and doesn't really follow any pattern as such. If it was a dying GPU you'd potentially see artifacts like that all over the screen and may textures bugging out across the games you play
one time a game I played would render in inverted colors on Radeon GPUs. It was weird.
think I may be changing my mind on frame generation again 😄 Mostly because of the whole "oh, its a feature so might as well make use of it" sort of thing
you can always just turn it off if you dont like it
is this normal
probably
its not that I don't like it. Just been so on the fence about the setting for a while. Might as well just enable it though. I barely notice the latency it adds, even when using 4x in supported games.
Found an issue when overriding 4x on Stalker 2 though (in game Frame Gen support is limited to 2x) where after enabling 4x on the Nvidia App textures may bug out. Kind of difficult to describe what it looks like but it may be similar to how a dying GPU could show certain textures. First time I spotted it I won't lie, it scared me lol but upon further searching it is a known problem so I'd rather keep the Frame Gen overrides off for now with that game
Stalker 2 does have a major update incoming some time this year where the devs have been working on upgrading the engine version, so hopefully they upgrade the upscaling solutions, frame generation etc too so there is native 4x support or fix whatever is causing the weird graphics glitch with FG override because otherwise it is sure to happen again when 5x, 6x and dynamic multi frame generation become available some time in Spring and afaik that will all be done as overrides via the Nvidia App too
switched from endeavourOS to bazzite and its actually not as bad as i thought it would be
might just keep it tbh its just a lot more simple
all i really do is game so ive just logged in to steam and thats it done its got everything else for me
I am playing Minecraft Story Mode on my new PC. I never thought in a million years i would play this game again!
@foggy vigil my RMA is in, looks like they’ve updated the cabling
Left is obv the burnt and destroyed one
Right is now all one sealed piece, cables are more flexible and independent
Also quite a bit longer
new cable definitely looks a lot better. Fingers crossed for you that it doesn't burn or melt 🤞
New cable looks like the cable I bought, so I think they were on to something with individual wire freedom / flexibility
I’m using one that came with my new power supply, has an extra fused in stabilizing cable
Mostly just because it’s 2x6 to 2x6
I've seen that before but never really read much into what it did tbh. Really is becoming a bit ridiculous how far some are going to try and prevent it with solutions like active cooling the connector and adding some kind of load balancing hardware onto the cable itself
agreed, gotta be some way the 300W 8 pin EPS (usually used for CPUs iirc?) could be used for GPUs. Doesn't quite solve the problem for those wanting a one cable build (unless its a GPU 300W or less) but 8 pin is tried and tested and seems to be far safer and more reliable than this... abomination of a connector
and yeah, I know the 8 pin connector can melt and burn too but I'm fairly certain you'd have to do a lot more to it to successfully manage that or buy dodgy cables which is avoidable
the adapter is the issue, not the connector
especially with the ATX 3.1 revisions over 3.0
I don't think it is specifically the adapter as there was a survey sent to board partners of RTX 50 series GPUs asking them what the preferred connection was native or adapter and it was pretty much split with no clear winner - though I probably would still opt to use a native 12v-2x6, ATX 3.1 cable over an adapter any day. If only tearing apart a PC wasn't so annoying to have to do for that to be done, not to mention I only bought a power supply back in late 2022 so I plan on making the most out of that before buying another one. Used to be power supplies could outlast multiple PC builds. Now with this 12v/16 pin connector and its various revisions each new GPU generation may require aa new power supply with the revised pins because something tells me 12v-2x6 won't be the last revision
I'm not talking about preference
I'm talking about the physics of it
from an electrician-standpoint the adapter is flat out dangerous
oh, yeah 100% but sadly it is the only real compromise some can use without having to spend extra on a new power supply. I know they wouldn't likely do such a thing but if this 12vhpwr/12v-2x6 cable was to become forced on the user where no adapters were provided with future GPUs I think there would have to be some kind of option to trade in your old/recently bought power supply (if it lacks 12v-2x6 native support) towards one that supports a native cable and good luck then dealing with the e-waste that will come from that, along with the hit power supply companies would take from having to reduce prices on such a trade in scheme
I'm curious as to how.
In any case, I won't be buying GPUs with that connector until I am satisfied that it won't just get immediately changed again.
I wish I could say the same but I'm on a 5080 now. If only there was 3x 8 pin options I would have picked that over using the provided 3x 8 pin to 12v-2x6 adapter. Really is the only regret, if you could call it that I have about owning this 5080. Everything else about it is good

cuz intels memory system is nuts
do you mean the VRAM or the cache they have because I don't think the VRAM on Intel's Battlemage GPUs is anything special. GDDR6, which compared with Nvidia and their GDDR7 already looks somewhat dated. Wonder if AMD GPUs see any gains like this, the lack of mentioning them doesn't make for good reading
yea they just use gddr6 but battlemages memory architecture is just freaky like that
specific uses which scale well with memory throughput do pretty nice with battlemage
no idea how it works though i just know it works
yo can i get a staff member
or someone
that works in xbox
i have smth to report its an issue
so pls any staff member respond

looks like Nvidia fixed the issues with 595.59 and released an updated version. Can report fans are detected as they should be with this version
Man, now I know how it feels to be a PC gamer. This is amazing.
I thought u were on a iMac or something
So on Friday last week, I bought this service called Shadow PC and it gives me a full blown Windows gaming PC in the cloud. I can do anything i want with it. I can install any game or app on it. Like I am talking to you on Discord right now from it. its USD$ 29.99 a month but the pc it gives you is about USD$1,780.58 to build on a PC Builder website. Its nuts
its a AMD Epyc CPU at 3.5Ghz, Nvidia RTX 2000 ADA Generation, 16GB of DDR6 RAM, 1GB Ethernet (connected on their side through the server), and a 256GB SSD.
wow we in the future
It looks like it uses a server/workstation gpu
Wait a sec I thought ddr6 isn't available commerically yet
4060/3070..... 🤣
And that CPU is also workstation as well
They might have meant GDDR6
The 2000 has 16gb gddr6
Or ddr5
I wonder how a workstation CPU and gpu does compared to a pure gaming pc
Really?
Yep it’s about 5-9% slower
So at low to medium settings at 1080p
Those gpu and CPU probably cost more than a 5090 launch price
It might be a lot more than 9% according to some benchmarks
Like 20 series old?
nah its only like 2-3 years old something like that
When I see 2000 I thought 20 series lol
Im sorry, you were right, its DDR5 RAM.
But regardless, it works perfect for gaming. I have had no issues, on my PC. My about screen on Win11 says the CPU is a 32-Core cpu.
Hope u enjoy gaming on that workstation pc then.
uhh, another interesting issue may have come to light with the release of the 595.71 driver for Nvidia GPUs. Some people have been reporting lower than usual voltage on their GPU. Mine was doing that even before this driver so it may be worth monitoring voltage if you updated to the latest driver as the GPU could be operating under 1.00v even under a gaming load and this could also result in some overclocked cards becoming unstable due to the lower voltage
So I’m not as familiar with the season passes over on The Crew games but in racing games these extra passes and DLC are mainly just head start boosts with a better range of cars. A lot of the time they’re essentially just time savers sometimes they’re even the same cars you can earn just by playing anyway.
Personally I’ve never really bought them but £30 for the Ultimate Year 3 Edition sounds like a good deal. Just be aware there’s always the potential of another Season 4 pass later down the line. I had a quick look and some people have said they regretted getting previous passes because future ones weren’t included.

seeing as KCD2 only just released on PC Game Pass I doubt the AI will know the answer to that. Might not even be aware that it was added to game pass seeing as that only happened yesterday iirc
try asking Google's AI Mode (if you are in a supported region). I'm not particularly fond of AI myself but found that to be somewhat more helpful with getting a response I can learn something from
idk why you would even say that in the first place

I freaking love my PC. I am so happy.
Wait until you try a better GPU that can handle native 4k. It's a game changer
There is a tier that gives me a RTX 4090 equivilant gpu but its like 38 to 40$ a month.
Got my new SSD installed and been having a run around trying to find a driver I need for Intel ethernet that I didn’t think would have been needed lol
which one?
Intel i255-v I think it is (still getting used to being on Ethernet lol)
i was talking about the ssd
nice. how much did it hit u im guessing 300-400
More. £550
Nowhere near what it shows for on Sandisk’s product page (£1285.99!!!) 😱
wait amazon shows at 880
ouch way outside my price range. i dont need storage that bad
When I saw it at £550 I pretty much jumped at the chance to get it lol
excuse me, is sharing permissions only available on rog ally?

The game bar is used for PC Xbox Socializing features as well as various access to things such as Spotify (if installed and opened on pc) and various widgets to control things like iCUE for Lighting and other things.

okayyy so i have a xbox wireless controller that literally only works while plugged in

Hello! Do you think Project Helix will support Steam? Since I got my base Xbox Ally I got some games on Steam and none on Microsoft store. I don’t want my library to be all over the place.
Still work lol
We just don't know. It probably won't be til late 2026 or 2027 about that tbh

good if you only game on steam
Or don't have a PC or laptop
it runs linux and the majority of people use windows
Hard to be sure right now. They said "It plays PC games" but that can mean a lot of things.
Agreed. Does that exactly mean that pc games also need to meet certification like consoles for next gen for example
Does it mean "Only MS Store PC games"?
Soooo many questions hidden behind "it plays PC games."
The ultimate answers will be exciting, but the questions are endless right now.
Yeah with so many rumors and stuff people r thinking of
Linux is still usable for a pc
@smoky flame
Going to wait for the next non hotfix driver before updating
Oh, this is very cool.

The new laptop from Huawei.
Pay attention starting at the 13th second.
I've never seen a PC with two operating systems.
closest I've come to a PC with two operating systems is dual booting Windows and Ubuntu over the weekend but it didn't last long as Cyberpunk 2077 was being strange and after I uninstalled Ubuntu I was trying to get rid of the Ubuntu boot entry and GRUB or whatever you call it and gave up so fresh installed Windows. Not likely to be installing Windows and Linux on the same SSD again lol
What should I do if I get the following message when logging into my account:You are not connected to the network
Connect to the network.
Isn't that just the phone mirroring mode, rather than it running Android as a separate OS?
I'm not sure.
This is actually sick
hmm... Got a bit of a decision to make having a closer look at how much my case upgrade may come to and it threw in a couple of interesting things. I could stick with the same D30-120 fans that are included with the AIO cooler I plan on getting and even use reverse fans (that I'm completely new to!) meaning I only need to buy 4x D30-120 fans and save a bit of money or go ahead with 7x T30-120 fans. D30-120 fans (including reverse) are all RGB but I'm sure I don't have to connect those RGB headers if I really don't want to and if I do later on I could then do so
You can also put windows on it if you want. Or install other stores
I have, but it's incredibly rare. So rare that it was an experimental device that didn't sell well. I have only seen it on YouTube, not IRL.
When i did GCSE IT at school we had PCs that had windows 95 and Mac OS on one PC that was 30 years ago
not really new
hi
how long would a rtx 3060ti last me if i played every game on low?
you could play it all on high and it will last a long time MY 1080 ti still going strong befor i upgraded and its 9 years old I got a gtx 950 that still works well on another pc still going
they are built to last a long time so don't worry I am on a 3060 and run a lot of stuff on med / high
ah i see, that's a relief ty
I do get why you wanted to know but all good there just make sure you take care of it and the pc clean out the dust every month or so that will help it a lot
while playing on pc is there any good gaming chairs that wont get uncomfy after playing a bit
been looking for one that wont sink or break within months of buying
I just use a regular mesh office chair. I don't think gaming chairs r worth it
i have an office chair but it keeps sinking over time
this has to be one of the funniest Intel Inside parodies I have seen in a while
Gaming chairs are a rip off. Get a nice comfortable herman miller.
They're comfortable after hours of use gaming.
Pretty expensive though so do your research
Idk about a Herman miller (too expensive imo) but a good office chair is the best option
A lot of stuff that’s ‘gamer’ branded is just low quality but rebranded and unfortunately that means they sell well
Or the looks sell it but don't last long
i go though and look at reveiws and see that alot of problems and i end up rethinking
this was an article posted earlier today but Nvidia has since announced and confirmed it during their Geforce On stream that just finished. No new hardware announcements

Ok ? Is window defender the only thing you need for PC security.
in terms of software windows defender and windows secuirty will be okay, but I would advise you use a Anti Viris program has well. But you also need common sense is most of it, it also depends what your doing with your PC.
Windows Defender has antivirus as part of it. You do not need anything else on top of it. Most users are fine leaving Defender as is tbh.
Yep, as long as you have your wits about you windows defender is more than enough
hey
1,040Hz new highest Refresh

getting some much needed upgrades out of the way with now while I can. SSD upgrade to a Gen 5 one was very optional but got case, cooler, fans and power supply ordered and should arrive some time tomorrow! Which leaves on CPU, RAM and GPU which I'm already planning. CPU I have two plans. See what Intel announce with the incoming Core Ultra 400 series (this will be more expensive as I'll need a new motherboard) or see what AMD announce for Zen 6 and wait for the successor to the 9800X3D. RAM: This time I'll be going 64GB (2x 32GB kit) and GPU I really only see one option and that is to go for the successor to the RTX 5080
I wouldn’t change CPU
I want to go AM5 but it's just too expensive right now.
if my GPU is a 100% bottleneck at 1440p makes no sense to change the cpu at 4K
But hey your money so your choice 😄
I don't think its a bottleneck as such, just a 5090 is so powerful and really has 4K in mind but 1440p should still be a somewhat happy middle ground. CPU can still play a part and GPU can do its thing. At 4K you'll be leaning heavily on how powerful the GPU is rather than the CPU
Agreed
something I'm a bit unsure of is when using upscaling if that brings it down to say 1080p or 1440p internal resolution if it can bring the CPU back into question or does render resolution being 4K mean its still going to be GPU heavy?
Hopefully you can upgrade some time soon! 🫂
Same but gonna keep what I have now for as long as possible.
I have changed my mind. As long my games can play at least 1080p native then I won't upgrade
GPU has been a bottleneck in every game I’ve tested.
The games even say so in the tests!
just reached 41,331 Port royal score
Nice you’re just a little over mine!
yur
I’m sure the Astral can squeeze out a little extra juice 😄
I got 41,198
My OCD was going off missing 2 points to crack 41,200 but it is what it is 😝
yea i was at 400+ core value and maxed out the memory at 52k but not sure why
prob was my cpu
sum basically just wanting to not push it further
my cpu averages at 5.4 to 5.5 ghz
on the b650-p socket
Well, I say mine like we have the same, I have a 9800X3D
Ahhh could be my motherboard helping a little
cause i have my curve shaper on 0, -25, -15, -10
I got X870E with ASUS.
I don’t get my fastest with curve
I just change the Core Multiplyer
seen someone do 5.9 ghz on 9950X3D on the x870e asus crosshair hero board
CO can limit the scores.
pretty much
That’s my board and yeah I could push to 5.95GHz but I left it at 5.8
Just try and do a 5.7 on the MP
im on the msi pro b650-p wifi board so there are limits to it where it cannot handle so most likely just at 5.4 and 5.5 is the board limit
Ahh interesting
What’s your GPU mem + ?
I was able to get + 1,800 Mem stable but others can get 2,000+
cause ive done it aggressively at 0, -30, -25, -15 and things were fine lol until like soon freezes cause it cant sustain more voltage
on the board
only like those x870e sockets can handle it
lemme show
Oki
dont think image works here so
ill just add
ima try 375 value and see
huh now its 41,030
sum is weird going on
If you push too high, it’ll get too hot and throttle down
You need to push it to where it’s consistent not just hitting peak and then coming down harder.
what core value would u recommend
There’s no recommendation tbh, it’s all GPU specific, I can’t go above 380
You can also manually boost your GPU fan speeds to 100%
Gives it a heads up in cooling
Same for your case fans
Just while benching
always had the fans at 100%
and same for gpu fans
prob it might be the limit
on the PCIE 4.0
Yeah then you want to try and monitor clocks for stable clocks
But CPU is holding back unless you run TimeSpy
And then you can separate the scores
Steel Nomad is GPU heavy so you can try that as well
@wispy pike
This is my best
@smoky flame right hand column, half way down 😄
how did u get image perms
You have to be active and then you get it automatically
Just default
igh same for time spy?
alr ima rq close this out and bench
Oki
Time to get a new network card 😄
This is surprisingly cheap, still need to play the second game but really enjoyed the first. I watched my partner play the second
Damn. I already owned them
looks like games are starting to implement DLSS 4.5 support in game and not only as an Nvidia app override option. Looked through Diablo 4’s latest update notes and it mentioned DLSS 4.5 support
hello everyone : i have a question regarding Helix Project
what's keeping me to buy a real PC put Full Screen Exeprience and then use the pc as a Custom Console ?
do you think Helix will provide something extra that only her would bring to the table ?
Right now we don't know in what capacity the Helix will run PC games.
We have very little info right now, so no one can say. We need to wait until they announce more details.
i had a dream build a console pc moved by a RTX 5000
and use it with controllers as any console lover would
rumours has it that Helix and Pc Portages will be rigouresly the same and unique
so no extra cost ....
like they gonna use a 5k workstation gpu lol
maybe a 9070XT ?
we just dont know nothing except it will use AMD and can play console and pc games for helix
Well, we don't allow discussion of rumours and leaks in here, so we just need to wait for Xbox to announce how things will actually work.
Again, we don't know until they announce more.
of course sorry : i didnt know about the policies here : but i was curious of your arguments / feelings on the matter
it all depends on the helix or whatever its gonna be called specs and price point which we definitely dont know rn
as someone try and daily use FSE by Windows 11 ?
There's too many possibilities. I'd rather spend the time playing my games and wait to see what it actually does than come up with theories and guesswork.
i would love to have some feedback on this
i thought xbox mode dont come to pc til april
you know rumours can be invigorating
nah its misleading
im not saying that helix would be that or that : just wondering : if we gamers are gaming on pc
why choose or want Helix ?
You can't make that kind of decision until you know what it does and doesn't do.
its just too early to decide when we know nothing
Glorious GMMK 3 is on a discount at currys rn, £89.99 down from £189.00 if anyone fancies a new keyboard
It is white though
The black one is something like £140
why when i try to install any call of duty game like modern warfare 2 or 3 its just a loading screen where it doesnt acctually let me install it
J9FJ3-5BCXB-K33S6-XTBTB-XKFXW
Borderlands skin, I don't play that so giving it away to anyone who wants it
Let me know if you claim it
You can finally add any app or game to your my library section inside the #Xbox PC App, Xbox Mode formerly known as Full Screen Experience. You can customize artwork and change the game name too. Learn how to do it here. #ROGXboxAllyX #ROGXboxAlly #ROGAlly #ROGAllyX
the custom artwork is only for manually added games witch is a bit disapointing
Dell sent this tech reviewer a 52” monitor. I didn't even know they came in that size.
I've seen 42" ROG ones but damn
6K monitor but seems very wide
6144x2560 resolution 120Hz refresh rate
Looking further into the specs of that monitor and considering its resolution I’m really surprised it doesn’t have Displayport 2.1 support
I think the biggest monitor screen size I’ve seen is 57” Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 springs to mind almost immediately and that also has a 32:9 aspect ratio and 1000R curve iirc
Curved monitors are weird
I had a 32" one and after a while it made flat screens look mad weird to me
Yeah, I didn’t like that haha. Had a Neo G8 before going flat OLED and I think it is two things I won’t go back to in a hurry (curved and non OLED)
New case!
Post build when it's done 💯
I want the Cougar CFV235 or a HAVN BF360
That's an Evolv X2 right?
Bougie af
A what now?
I think I know what he's trying to say but I can't spell it myself😂
I think the context shown there is completely wrong tho
Because where I am atleast it just means "ooooo, fancy"
Yeah I was thinking fancy
Evolv X2 is a very snazzy case, floating chassis etc
That's just Ai making it's own response of other sources lol
Idek if my gpu will fit in a CFV235 though 😤
Haven't looked at dimensions
I wish I could post images
then look at the specs sheet of the case
I will closer to the time I buy
Ay congrats 😄
Hasn’t been as easy an experience as I thought it would be. Got front and rear fans in so far that’s about it. Still have to sort the power supply and then go over to my old case and get the motherboard out of that and so on. Managed to break one of the Phanteks connectors so I’m a bit upset and frustrated with that 🙁 but I’ll get there!
That’s basically the same as the Google result
Yeah but the context makes it sound condescending/negative
It says often not always 🤷♂️
You must be really easy going and not nit-picky at all
When it's done it'll look so sick dude keep going
My bad I’m not trying to argue I was just giving my opinion
👍
I REALLY dislike the native 12v-2x6 connector. Didn’t realize it needed so much force to insert it properly into the power supply just to hear the clip click and I’m still not 100% sure about it 😱
What gpu do you have again?
He has a 5080
Rip I am very glad I don't have to dance with that connector
What gpu do u have?
9070XT
Nice. Built my pc in 2023
Lucky u got that early otherwise ram shortage lol
Just kept building and upgrading lmao
REALL
I'm still on ddr4 was gonna upgrade to ddr5 this year but shortage killed that plan. New plan wait til I can't play natively at 1080p60 then full system rebuild
I wanna re-case mine though tbh
I don't like using frame gen unless it's needed. Regular upscaling is fine
If it's a casual looter shooter type game i like to cap my fps at 90 then enable FG so I get a clean 180
I usually play single player games.
Personally I use fg on single player but on multiplayer I always turn it off for the latency (the latency is what’s keeping me in gold in every game 100% for sure)
Got a pic of the connector. Really not happy with seeing the light blue showing and the force I’ve had to exert on the connector just to get it to where it is
anyone know why i cant play msfs 2024 i could play it before on my laptop but now i cant after it finishes loading it just goes to a black screen
the wonders I can perform at 2-3am in the morning! This looks a lot more like how it should and I don't see any blue/turquoise poking out now
now just to hope the GPU end isn't as much of a nightmare as that was...
In shouldn’t be, out is a different story 😄
Guys
Does death stranding 2 have denuvo anti tamper?
It's not saying anything denuvo related on the store page, but it's also not out yet.

We've spent time looking at Crimson Desert on PC's ultra settings and, of course, how it presents on PlayStation 5 Pro. But what we haven't shared until now is the most transformative upgrade available to high-end PCs: superior R...
I'm seeing an awful lot of second hand Corsair RM1000X PSUs popping up, is there something wrong with those?
For cheap too, £50 or £60
Second hand psu 😬
Yeah it's strange
The Budget £0 option would be mounting your phone to your PC
I have seen that phones like the Pixel 8 and on are good for that
But i have an OBSBOT Meet 2-4K rn
Finally be getting somewhere with this rebuild but still motherboard, AIO cooler and GPU to sort and the frustrating thing is once the motherboard is removed from my old case its kind of like a point of no return. So I hope everything is alright 😓
can someone please help me
i got hacked and my entire email got removed from my account
If you can't get access with those steps, you'll need to contact Xbox Support. https://support.xbox.com/contact-us/
the guy completely removed my email from the account
he removed me from all my accounts all i want is my world i can buy all the games again
i spent so much time on that world but whatever
You got this!
gl with the prices of gpu, ram and ssd lol
Parts I'm looking at seem unaffected so I think I'll be alright
lucky some ddr5 ram kits are like 500 if not more
Yeah I'm not looking for ram
but gl with the upgrade what r u current on and going to?
Currently just running a 7800x3d/9070XT build rn with 32gb ddr5 6000MHz CL30 on a MSI B650M so my plan is to get a B850 micro ATX so I have a 2nd x16 slot that I can slot a low profile 5050 into 👍
lucky. still on ddr4. my bro is running 9070xt as well
It's literally just so i can abuse NVENC encoding so just doing some research on whether or not I'll have to upgrade the PSU
i kept putting ddr5 upgrade off cause my system can still play games. i dont use pc outside of gaming and regular pc stuff like web browsing etc.
I do some gaming and I'll stream in the evening so would be nice to have a 9th gen nvenc engine
Might be some limitations on the RTX 5050 with certain specs like the nvenc engine
It's a single nvenc encoder which is more than enough for 1080p60 at 6000kbs
It'll have virtually 0 other overhead usage in my rig
Ahh, my bad there. Was double checking as I remembered seeing it had some changes but otherwise should be alright, yeah
I could experiment with LS too sometime 😂
Have my main gpu render, the 5050 gen frames etc etc
It's rubbish, don't bother. Unless you're really bored
Really in the dual gpu way?
Yes
as you already have a 9070 XT I would probably just stick to using FSR4/Redstone where possible as it should be better than Lossless Scaling
Although, experimenting is fun
Trying new things and learning shouldn't be hampered by having good stuff by default
???
As in, it really wouldn't hurt to try it out as I haven't run dual gpus before and it will be fun
You do you. Don't expect miracles though
It's not my original plan for it anyway.
Does anyone of u has Xbox game pass
Bruh

Sorry I am stuck at cracked
that is true. I was curious about Lossless Scaling too for a little while as I heard it has a feature that works similar to Nvidia's upcoming dynamic multi frame generation and wante to try it but backed off as I heard that feature will soon become available to all Nvidia RTX 50 series users from March 31st. Should be able to set an FPS target (so in my case 240 FPS) and then as long as Frame Gen is enabled in game and this feature is enabled from the Nvidia app a game should reach 240 FPS even if it has to use all 6x or as little as say 2.1x
I stopped building it and called in help as I felt I was out of my depth and would rather make sure it is built properly by someone who knows what they are doing. They are coming out on Wednesday
that 12v-2x6 connector really messed with my confidence in building this PC 🙁
Ouch sub zero
Have some faith in yourself!
really hope Nvidia backtrack on adopting this connector but I don't see that happening as there will probably be yet another revision of it whenever 60 series is announced but on the power supply end the force it required I was worried I'd somehow break the power supply internally and that would have held everything up while waiting on a replacement
That's absolutely fair it's a temperamental connector so
Don't think I've ever built with Nvidia so no clue there. I loved doing my intel/AMD gpu one though. I ended up cutting my fingers because of screws and using the wrong mobo screws haha
Had to use plyers to ger the screw off lol
I saw some 9070xt models with 12v connectors but I avoided them anyway, even the ones with optional connectors so I don't become tempted lol
Didn't realise the proper screws were in a bag for the case lol
Took like 2 hours getting the wrong screws off the mobo lol
Pure pain
pretty sure all GPUs with 12vhpwr or 12v-2x6 connectors on them have an optional adapter that will require 2-4x 8 pin but it is quite the eyesore to look at seeing that adapter and in some cases may not be possible to use due to limited space or certainly on the 5090 I would recommend native 12v-2x6 600W rated cable
I'm on about the ones with the hidden connector on the mobo side
that would have been a horrible experience 😱
ahh, like the Sapphire Nitro+ 9070 XT?
that isn't optional, pretty sure it is 12v-2x6 but there is a zero cable model that requires a supported motherboard to use, yeah
It absolutely was but I got there in the end lol
Let's hope the next gen 6090 won't burn the connector I doubt though ...
next gen 6090 probably going to need the user to have a power supply that supports 2x 12v-2x6 cables with no adapters present in the box - which would be absolutely bonkers but there are some very special models of 5090 that already have that
Although I'm half tempted to pay the current ram prices and just go am5 anyway
Spend like 500 on the ram kit lol
My mate did, bought 32gb kit for £250
Got mine for £60 before the ramageddon
Yeah £250 ain't bad yeah
Probably close to a grand upgrade
£250 for 16gb?
I bought my 32GB 6000 MT/s CL32 kit back in 2023 (would have been about 3 years ago to the day I think) for around £150. Pretty sure that same kit now if it is still out there for purchase costs more than £500
Didn't see the 32gb lol
my next RAM upgrade is sure to be 64GB but ideally at a time when pricing comes down
I don't even utilise 32gb so 64gb would be overkill for me haha
will also be dependant on what CPU I look at upgrading to next seeing as Zen 6 and Core Ultra 400 series won't be too far away and are sure to demand faster RAM. Perhaps a return to Intel for me on the cards. Last Intel CPU I had was a i7-6700K that lasted from 2016 to 2020
Guess that depends if the next core CPUs are any better than the zen 6 cpus
idk if I'm thinking a bit too much into it but its funny that I've gone back to using an Nvidia GPU and will soon be using an AIO cooler again for the first time since my original 2016 gaming PC build 😅 May be nothing and I continue on with AMD haha
I wanna get the 5700X3D. That might stop me going to AM5.
Intel have some serious catching up to do with Zen 5 X3D so idk how that will go but with Zen 6 imminent any time Intel can spend as the leader again before AMD swoop back in may help them a bit as Intel really have had a pretty horrid time of things lately
Wish I would've got it when it was cheap on AliExpress 😅
Seen someone selling a 5700X3D for £280!!
How much would it cost to upgrade to am5 for u?
5700X3D makes some sense but I'm really not a fan of that socket. AM4 really doesn't have much in ways of preventing the CPU coming away with the cooler if you are not careful. LGA on Intel and AM5 boards though seems much safer imo
Anyway gotta stop talking and cook 🍽️ dinner lol
I saw the path shorten and jumped from 5700X to 7800X3D :p
I don’t remember seeing or hearing of this Alienware monitor from back in the day. It’s an absolute unit. 😅
2008
heh, look how far monitor tech has come since then. Bezel-less, super thin etc. I've seen that picture on a few other servers
oh damn, DLSS 5 got announced at GTC. Forgot about the Nvidia keynote (though I partly avoided it thinking it would be AI AI AI)
Oh no, it looks horrible.
That's not even upscaling. It's completely changing the faces and making them weird.
It just makes her look like an AI generated fake face. That's not Grace.
I believe it is using some neural rendering techniques in order to generate these faces and improve lighting etc
also supposedly required Nvidia to use not one but two RTX 5090 to render these so this neural rendering requires some SERIOUS graphics horsepower
Even some of the background stuff is being changed too much, like the ivy/plants on the building in the last slider comparison. They're not upscaled, they look completely replaced with what the AI thinks real plants would look like.
If it was just upscaling, fine, that's the way everything is heading. But this is completely changing what the developers made into something different. That is not Grace's face.
this is something else. All I know is Blackwell GPUs (RTX 50 series) support neural rendering and it uses AI a bunch to recreate elements of a game with various elements improved - this is where we're headed and I won't be at all surprised to see this on next gen consoles too. IIRC RDNA 4 supports Neural Rendering too but to what extent is unknown
It's pushed it into uncanny valley territory, where you can see it's clearly an AI generated face and makes it weird.
yeah 🙁
Like those ai yt vids
I can see where it attempts to generate stuff though and while the faces are very AI generic looking there is other improvements but what I'd be curious about is the computational cost of this seeing as the jump from DLSS 3.5 to DLSS 4 was said to be big, followed by DLSS 4 to DLSS 4.5 being something like 5x so DLSS 4.5 to DLSS 5 looks set to be even larger than that 😱
this is sure to be an RTX 50 series only DLSS version, unlike DLSS 4.5 where all GPUs were supported but 20 and 30 series suffered significant FPS loss if it was used due to the lack of FP8 support on such GPUs
This had better be optional
not sure tbh, got a feeling it will be similar to how DLSS 4 introduced CCN and Transformer models on some games but that could well vary game by game seeing as some games today don't even give the model type toggle like Cyberpunk 2077 does which either means it detects the hardware you run and sets the model accordingly or simply defaults to the transformer model, even on older GPUs where it will reduce performance somewhat (even more so if DLSS 4.5 is also implemented either by devs or Nvidia app override)
lol

Coming in Fall 2026, Nividia's DLSS 5 is a brand-new technology for RTX 50-series GPUs, bringing next-gen quality, photo-realistic lighting to any supported game. We went hands-on with four existing games running with DLSS 5 in p...
